I look like i just left the salon and this sew-in is over a month old, stop playing with me, hey guys. What'S up, my name is erica, andrea, welcome back to my channel and welcome to my channel. If you are new here welcome today, i'm going to be showing you guys how i refresh my sew-ins sew-ins are back in style. Okay, the girlies aren't wearing wigs, no more i'm tired of lace. I'M tired of melting! I'M tired of glue i'm tired of cutting baby hairs and plucking into a child. I'M tired! They just look so much more natural. Like look at this guys, you can't beat this. This is going to be a really quick video. It takes no time at all. So, let's just get right on into it. Okay, so first thing i always do is i start out on freshly washed hair now what i normally do is go in the bathroom and i don't fully submerge my sew-in, because y'all know that nasty smell that sew-ins get when you get them wet and then it Doesn'T fully dry and then it starts smelling like mildew yeah girl, we're not doing that. I just wanted to wash my leave out, so i just washed it in the sink. I wet it with my spray bottle. I wet the hair with my spray bottle. This is by edge booster. I will link some amazon alternatives to this. Fine mist spray bottle down below, so you guys can check it out. I sprayed my hair all with that and then i shampooed conditioned rinsed it out in the sink like the getaway, the real real getaway. So this is what we ended up with. I use the design, essentials, agave and lavender blow dry into the press collection. The shampoo, the conditioner - and this is the heat protectant like primer thingy, that i just spray in my hair before i flat iron it and blow dry it of course. So i just put some of that in my hair on all the areas that i'm gon na you know try to fix up, and this is what my leave out is looking like right now. I do have some heat damage but girl. I didn't care like. I wanted it to get heat damaged at this point, because my leave out was not staying straight and the key to having your leave out stay straight for a long time is what to have some heat damage. Okay, so i've just been straightening it, and i don't really care about my curls that much to where i need to be protecting them anyway, because like who cares, so i'm gon na blow dry it with my hot tools, blow dryer. This has been through thick and thin with me and i'm literally just gon na blow dry, the hair, so you want to blow dry the hair as straight as you can get it and honestly, like i said, my hair does have some heat damage so that didn't Take any time at all, but my ends definitely need to be cut, but they needed to be cut before i even put this weave in. So it's not the weave small okay. So, as you guys can see, this top portion of the hair is nice and blow dried and straight. But this, like my edges, you know my little broken off adult hairs. These also need to get blow-dried pretty straight, because we are going to flat iron them to get it nice and sleek. So what i'm going to do to take off the attachment? I'M going to use this comb to kind of just get it as straight as i can get it then i do also have a widow's peak, so i'm going to go ahead and separate that which is right here and i'm going to blow dry this now this Side of my hair, you know she don't really be out because it's a side part, so i'm just going to go ahead and ignore her and just work on. What'S going to be actually showing, i did put a little bit too much of the heat protectant to my hair does look a little bit greasy, but that's going to work out in my favor and you guys will see in just a moment. This is the conair infiniti pro flat iron, which i love. It has like the titanium plates, similar to the beveless babelus pro flat iron, but this is just a more affordable version. I picked this up, i believe at like bed bath and beyond or something, but i honestly can't remember so i'll have something similar link below that you guys can check out or if i can find the exact one i'll link that down below for you guys, i'm Just gon na let this heat up because it does have the digital screen here i don't know if you guys can see but nonetheless come on, come on back and i'm gon na try to flat iron the hair in the direction that i want it to lay. But if i need to make adjustments, i will i'm not married to the part, and my hair is pretty thin naturally, so i don't need to do like a whole bunch of stuff to it like it's really not going to take any time to flat iron it. I have the heat on 450. I'M gon na turn it down, because my hair really doesn't need that much heat, i'm turning it down to 428, which should be fine literally. My hair already looks straight and i'm just gon na press it and literally just comb that right into the hair, so yeah, that's what that first piece looks like look how smooth it gets and the oil doesn't bother me because it helps blend my natural hair with The bundles so now we're going to go ahead and do this section and if you guys are wondering like what happened to my edges literally since i've been a kid, i've had thin edges. I have thin hair fine hair, so i've never had thick edges and i constantly wear my hair in a bun. So i'm not helping it. You know so i have just accepted the fact that my edges are going to be thinner and you know the girls plucked their frontals to be thin. So why can't my edges be thin? It'Ll it'll help me blend so now we need to do our edges now. I used to never flat iron, my edges, i thought you know it was too much heat. It was too much this. It was too much that and then i woke up and decided not to care, so it just comes out so much better. When you do this, and if you only do it like on the first day that you wash your hair and do it fresh because when you go to the salon, that's what they do, they flat iron, your edges and get it nice and bone straight. And then they put the edge control and i just feel like the edge control lasts longer when i straighten my edges first, so we're going to do that. I'M just going to section off this piece of hair. Try not to burn myself show and i don't spend much time doing it. I literally just do it really quick do the same right here and then later, when i slick my edges, it's just going to come all together. So now we can go ahead and do a piece on this side and flat iron it down just the same. I only do one pass, because that's really all it needs like look at the hair. It blends it blends right on in, like weave, wear weave who then we do another section, and i'm not sure where i want my parting, but that's fine. I can always change it, but yeah. I think this is the side that i want it to like kind of fall like right here and then have the rest go to this side. So let's try that out and see perfect and i normally wear it tucked behind my ear. So that's why i'm doing that, but you can leave it down if you'd like, but clearly we're blending. So that's fine, but i do normally wear it tucked. So that's how i'm gon na do it for right now my parting looks okay, just gon na fix the back to make sure we're covering all the traction and then now the last last last thing we have to do is flat iron. This piece right here towards the front period and then just blend it, and that's literally how i refresh my leave out. All that's left to do is slick down the edges, so i'm going to show y'all how i do that right now now i just put some all over my edges where, where i want it to go and kind of give the outline of how i want the Hair to slick back then i start taking my fingers to help me place the hair where i want it, and i literally just look at that. Then i take a comb and just set in the pieces that are kind of like sticking out tuck it behind my ear, and that is literally it look at those edges, perfect, swoops, very natural, it's not too curly. It looks nice and straight still, and then, if you need to, you, obviously can just go in make adjustments as need be, and when you tie your hair down at night, not my nose running, that's ugly. That blend i didn't use any hairspray. I didn't use any additional products like that. This is literally all i did. Let me just come close period, um, so yeah. I hope you guys got a good view of that. It literally takes me, like 15 20 minutes max to just kind of do this, wash it blow dry, it flat iron, it and it just looks brand new. I'Ve had this hair installed, since i think november, 2nd or 3rd, and it is now december 9th it's been over a month and it still looks so so good. I'M probably going to take it out at the end of december and get a new install for january, because, yes, i am so happy with how this turned out. I hope this video helped you guys. I'Ve been getting a couple of people asking me on instagram, like how i set my sew-ins, and how do i lay my leave out and how do i keep it? Looking nice and fresh - and the answer is this so yeah, let me know if you guys want to see more videos like this in the comments down below i love making hair videos. This is like my roots, so yeah. I know i love a good hair video child. I don't think i've ever done a video on how i refresh my leave out because i haven't had a sew-in in a while, like i've been wearing wigs for like years now, and i finally got back into sew-ins last year, so we're sewing girl, i'm gon na, Be wearing these on and off all year. So if you see me in a sew-in just know so natural you can wake up and your hair is already done. I can't say enough about it. I can't say enough so yeah, i'm gon na go ahead and get out of here. Thank you guys again for watching this video. I hope you enjoyed it, give it a big thumbs up if you did and subscribe to my channel.
