Hi, and welcome to my channel! I am a Beauty Addict and love to create how-to beauty tutorials for short hair and hairstyles, makeup, and lifestyle in general. I try to make my videos informative, creative and most importantly entertaining. Sometimes it may be dry humor. I warned you.

I love interacting with my viewers. Let's get to know each other.

Love, Milabu

Can you hear me hello? Can you hear me yeah welcome back my lovelies to another video today, I'm gon na be very passionately talking about clear, hair, elastics, exciting stuff. Today, folks, you might be asking yourself really mallanna clear, hair elastics. What'S there to it, actually a lot I'm excited about this video keep watching to find out no but seriously. I actually guess so many questions pretty much in every social media page that I have regarding clear, hair elastics. So hopefully I can answer all of the questions today, the first tip when I purchase my clear elastics. I look for strength, durability and longevity. I can honestly say from my own experience majority, probably like 98 % of clear elastics or complete crap. I have tried probably almost a hundred percent of clear elastics on the market, that Target Walmart CVS, Duane Reade Rite Aid, Walgreens pretty much any store that sells, hair accessories or hair products is they have clear elastics I have tried and they all suck except a few - That I have tried that I've purchased online. I want to do a demonstration for you guys, showing the four brands that are very crap aid. The reason why I chose these for or because you can find them pretty much anywhere, the first one, this one. I think everyone knows, because you probably use it all the time. I'M gon na stretch all of these out to you guys and just demonstrate how fast they break or snap that's five, and I was not even doing it that hard seconds brand one. Two three four: five: six it just they just snap third brand they're a little bit bigger what five whoa my hands are hurting, but so worth it not only cheap ones, but expensive ones are also crap. These are probably the most expensive I have ever encountered on. The market you get to eight of them for seven to eight dollars why 25 whoa all right 25 time before they snap honestly a lot better than those, but they stretch out a lot. I mean a lot look at that, and this is not my first time doing this. My husband and I are actually extensively testing out clear elastics because we're actually testing some out for us to sell because we want to sell some amazing quality hair elastics. But before we get there, I want to show you guys the clear elastics that are actually incredible: these bad boys, oh right, yeah, ah, 50-60 ha my hands - are pretty much dying. 70. 71 to 80. Haha do one, maybe two three four five six! Ninety, ah literally, my hands are getting like ripped a new one: 92 93, 84, 85, 86, 97, 99, 100, literally getting ripped, but for safety reasons. Obviously you can snap them because it is a clear elastic, see what I mean, but with this demonstration I honestly just want to show you guys that you can get amazing quality, clear elastics for an amazing price. If you guys want to see or read more information about this, just check the description below so my tip number two. When I purchased clear elastics, I like to know that they're gon na keep their shape and not pretty much expand after the first use. So for the cheap ones, the ones that literally snapped within five times - it's not even worth talking about them, but the expensive ones that pretty much cost you an arm and a leg. Let'S just see, I'm gon na demonstrate very quickly. So these are the expensive. This is the original, and this is stretched out four times and then right here are my preferred. This is the original not stretched, and this is the stretched out four times as you can see, they're both pretty comparable. They both stretched out at least 25 % more, but I have the odds on these ones because they last a lot longer, so I am actually saving my money, even if I snap them, because this is so expensive. The next point is how smooth or snack free are these clear, elastics that I'm buying or purchased or wasted my money on. So I'm gon na take all five clear elastics. Even the crappy one nobody's gon na take similar sections of hair and just tie it up at the top and then pretty much just try to kind take them out of my hair, pull the clear elastics out of my hair, very gently, because I actually, like my Hair and we'll see which one's actually snagged my hair, so quick disclaimer. Obviously you guys are not right here, physically watching me face to face you're looking through a screen, but I'm gon na try to describe to you guys how much for some pudding. So I'm basically just gon na use one hand. I am praying to God right now. My hair does not fall out because that would not be good, alright, so taking the first one. This is the first cheap brand and I'm pretty much just using my nails and you guys can see I'm having a hard time already trying to go slowly. So I don't rip my hair out, not bad alright, so I'm taking out using my fingers, I kind of have a place to clamped towards the top of the clear elastic okay. This one is better than the first okay, all right. Some hair cap came out. Third, one I'm trying to keep it all similar there. We go all right. Let'S do the fourth one. This is the most expensive, all right, a lot better than the first three, even though I can feel my soul, my hair snapping, but it's gliding through okay. Actually, the third one was the easiest take out right now, all right, third one. That is the easiest so far. So now, let's check is the last one, literally no tugging no pulling snack free the easiest to take out. So obviously you guys saw with that quick demonstration, very professional, that the last ones were the easiest and the smoothest out of the five. So point number four is to size better when it comes to clear elastics. Yes, it actually does so. You guys saw in the last demonstration a perfect example. I was using smaller sections of hair, so for those I like to use smaller, clear elastics, because a less tie in my hair. So that means it's not gon na be as much Terry breakin my hair and it's gon na be less snagging, my hair and with bigger sections, obviously bigger, clear elastics are easier to use. You don't want to be forcing their smaller, clear, elastics around a big section of hair. I think that explains it pretty well, so the next two tips are basically how to use and how to take out the clear elastics. So for my hair, my hair is very fine and they can snag very easily if you're, not careful, with tying your hair, especially with miniature clear elastics. So, for me, I'd like to take my time and make sure I clean along when I tie my hair just to make sure the rest of the hair is not getting caught up in the little sections of my clear elastic as I tie it. I hope that makes sense so basically take your time and clean along as you tie your hair, so points number six. How do you take out clear elastics there's a couple of ways, but for me personally, I just use my nails because they're right there and it's the easiest for me, especially with these clear elastics that kind of do the job for me, but I always make sure I tie it very gentle and not have that access hair that is not supposed to be tied. That actually works against me. Sometimes, when I'm not careful and I'm in a hurry, so I just take like I showed you guys demonstration take it and it just comes out very easily without any hair coming out of it. So the last thing I want to say is: if you don't have nails or you're, just not like me and you don't feel like taking every single, clear elastic out of your hair or your hair is curly, because that means you have a lot of texture in Your hair I've actually tested it out with the chopsticks Tyler. I could not take the clear elastics out like that, because there is too much texture happening. So this is what I used. You can use any scissors. You guys actually saw that Andre uses on me. These are way too big, but there is also little tiny nail scissors. Those would be a better choice or this. This is even a better choice and scissors. This is the nail cuticle or remover just slide your clear elastic right in between the little two prongs and just kind of push it up with the tool and your clear elastic will snap very easily this way, your just a really great tool to take out those Stubborn, clear elastics, it's great, it does a job for you. I love it and plus it's usually guaranteed. I'M not gon na cut my hair. If I were to do it myself, especially had a clear elastic in the back. I don't trust myself with those. So there we have it here are some of my tips for clear elastics. Obviously, the quality matters a lot if using crap quality, it's just it's not gon na be good for anybody. It'S not gon na be good for your hair. It'S not gon na be good for you for my soul, for my emotional distress so that so many times my hair style was ruined because of crap quality. Clear elastics we've all been there, but I hope you guys like this. Hopefully a lot of questions were answered. If you have some of your own tips and tricks for clear elastics definitely share them down below for the rest of us in the comments, but for now thank you for watching. I hope you enjoyed this video and I'll see you next time right.

CreativeAmericanLivingAbroadInNorway: Malibu, I just so happened to be sorting and organizing all my hair accessories and this video started playing. It helped me so much because of the large assortment of hair elastics I had. I did the "tests" and just tossed out the bad ones leaving me room for the good ones! BTW... I started using elastics from the hobby stores for kids crafts and they are really durable, and hold their shape very well. Not to mention they come in a large assortment of colors! ;) And the tip about the culticle cutter was awesome! Thank you so much for thinking of all things "hair" from the smallest of items to the largest of items! You are so super star!!! <3 <3 <3

Kathie Harrop: I am so glad you did this video.  I go through a ton of those shitty clear elastics and they even break during the middle of the day when I'm walking down the hallway or working out.  Kind of embarrassing and definitely frustrating.  Also thanks for providing the link to your fave one's.  I sure appreciate this simple video.

Elizabeth: Thank you so much for this video! I bought your recommended brand and the quality did not disappoint. I was so frustrated with the elastics that I used to purchase at drugstores. I used to carry around extra because my hairstyles would just fall apart randomly throughout the day!! Now, I can trust that my hair will stay. (: Gratitude, abundance, and blessings to you. Thank you!

Cristina Yoder: You read my mind! I was just thinking I needed to buy more clear elastics and your video came up! I already bought mine. Now to get my hair to curl as good as yours!! Thank you for your tips and tricks!

Michelle Byrd: To be honest, when I first got the notification for this I passed on watching because... clear elastics? But OMG, I didn’t know there were good ones out there! Thanks for this “pain-staking” video, please keep us posted on when you and Andre develop the next best elastic!!

Armiya Khan: I'm so happy you have made a video on clear elastic bands! Especially when I'm in love with the topsy tail hairstyles!

Katie: I’m so glad I remembered this video. I’ve been using clear elastics for years and recently the brand I’ve been using must’ve changed their product because EVERY. SINGLE. DAY my hair band breaks. I literally carry several in my uniform pants and another box in my desk at work because they’ll just snap throughout the day. I’ve been trying to remember my cloth hair ties but I just really like the clear elastics so much when they’re not breaking in the middle of absolutely nothing :\ Just ordered your recommended bands!!

Katie: Mine always break while in my hair, like randomly throughout the day. It’s great.

Kate S.: Awe boo I love the Blax ones, I'm able to get them for under $2 a pack in NYC (Manhattan wardrobe supply) -- but agreed there's some Amazon e-tailors that mark them up like crazy I've had mine for years with no problem but I also have super fine, thin hair so I'm not really stretching it that much Thanks for a great video, this is VERY helpful!! I've stopped buying those cheap clear ones from CVS as they will snap after 1 use-- while it's STILL in my hair!! And then my braids fall out

TRosey: This was a awesome video ..very very helpful , my 4 year old son has got hair almost to his waist and I braid it alot and I hate when they break when your in the middle of fixing his hair.

Hannah's Simple Thoughts: We use a seam ripper to take cut the elastic band. Works like a charm!!! Thanks for the video.

Nancy W: My main reason for not using those little elastics is how hard they are to remove! I'm so glad I know about the ones you use now. That tip about using the cuticle tool to remove them is really smart.

Sarah Tilsley: Hiya. I use the end of my pin tail comb to take my elastics out. If you poke the end under the elastic pointing down and then slide to the end of your hair. Also if all else fails a seamstresses seam unpicker would do a similar job to the cuticle cuter thingy. The best ones I’ve found so far myself are the scunci ones. They come in a reusable tub too. Take care both. Look forward to next post. Xx

Mandy M: Thanks for the tips! I've been having issues with these and also have been trying different brands. I just cut them out because they're never reusable. On a different subject, I was wondering if you can do a video on waterfall braids for short hair. Mine is about the same length/cut as yours. If you have time to fit that in, I'd love some ideas. You're awesome and adorable. Thanks!

Kristin Hardin: I've always had questions about clear elastic. Thanks for the great explanation!

Amelia Black: I was really excited to see this video. About 10-15 years ago i bought a pack of 75 hair elastics from Wal-Mart by Goody. I STILL have them! They are by far the best I've ever used! They rarely if ever broke, they have only dwindled away as I've lost them. I have never found anything that compares.

Kim McPherson: ABSOLUTELY love your channel, our hair is very similar, though my hairline sucks! Getting sooo many good tips! Now I just have to learn how to buy things on line! Lol Keep up the good tips and tricks...it has helped me ALOT ! THANX ! ! ! !

distringher: OMG!! the best video i've seen. So simple, so interesting and so useful..you're amazing Milana!!

Rose Pauter: I really love your personality, you’re so sweet and quirky and you give great information. Thank you Milabu!

milybu78: I would love if you could test clear elastics on someone with thick hair. Myself and my daughter both have thick hair and clear elastics just don't hold up with our hair.

amry: woow that was good and helpful! Thank you! I had nooo idea there were good ones out there - i ve been using the crappy ones my entire life!

Sierra Painter: I love that you made this video--so helpful!! Love your channel!

Izzy C: Your channel proves my mother-in-law wrong every time she is convinced I can't do a certain hair style on short hair

Paige: I have just placed my order on these! I use little elastics daily between my daughter and I

ashley lebel: Which ones do you actually prefer? I’m constantly having issues with snags on removal of the elastics

Aurora Fratton: Ehi Milana ❤ can u do the same with bobby pins? Very useful as usual the video thanks a lot

Megan Vanderpool: Thank you! Thank you! I always struggle with cheap elastics and how to know which to get! I'm going to buy your recommendation right now!!

Agnieszka Tracz: Dear Milana, I love your channel and congrats on 1M subscribers - should have happend earlier! I have an idea for a video - a fail compilation :) it's just fun to watch you do anything :D Lot's of love!

Fiona Lawlor: Oh my goodness. Just looked these up on Amazon uk (I live in Scotland) and for the same pack of 70 ElasticU bands, it costs £38.65, which is $51.23!!! :-0 Love your hairstyles and tips though x

Hatch Man Do: At the same time I kind of like that I can kind of easily snap them because that’s how I can get them OUT of my hair faster. Getting them out is sooooo hard! I just dont think it’s feasible to slide any out. They are never put in neatly. Therefore getting kinds that last, dont stretch or break too easily doesnt matter as much as cost because they are dispoable

Parishi Bachkaniwala: Please do sell clear hair elastics because then the world will have at least one company of hair elastics which are trustworthy!! I support you Milana !! And a great job with the demonstration part!!! If I had to do that demonstration then I would just get the worst tangles in my hair!

DeloresCostello: I consider my little elastics “disposable” and too damaging to try to get out of my hair to reuse. So I cut them and they almost fall out without breaking or tangling. But I’ve never had one break while holding my hair?? My hair is very long, now I’m interested in the ones that will slide out, Thanks

Rebecca Neiger: Thank you! This will help a lot.

love2laugh19: What about the hair sectioning clips you use? (The ones that are sturdier alligator clips). What brand of those do you like?

Margot: I always thought clear elastics were crap, glad to see that some elastics are!

Sara Beth: A lot of these I have tried, I use spray on my hair, and the elastic breaks, or starts peeling away.

Tracy Thomas: Love your tutorials. ElasticU does not ship to the UK sadly. Do you know of an alternative brand that matches the quality of your recommended brand that does ship to the UK? Many Thanks x

Jade Wright: They don’t ship to Australia does anyone have any recommendations for poly bands available in Australia?

Ken Leung: Your hair blend cut is pretty amazing, but I still missing you having longer hair before !the flat iron routine is longest hair you have! But stronger hair elastics never pulling apart easily!

Sarah Seguin: OMG thank you!! I’ve been wondering what ones to buy for the longest time!!!!

marie paradiso: Great vlog Malibu ❤thank you for the tips

shnazzyyabbii: could you do a hair tutorial on halloween hairstyles?? like devil horns or unicorns!!

Spookylady: Holy hot sauce I thought it was just me using them incorrectly! I thought you were some kind of magical hair guru (well you ARE a magical hair guru) who didn't have them break every time I touched him. Voila! They actually do work!!

Jules: Such a very useful video thank you.

Larry Motionless: You're the number 1 hair stylist youtuber❤

Parismita Borah: Thanks. So useful

Wendy D: OMG! Great advice !

Vera Dietz: are these for doing your hair or for an arm workout?

Cats & Cosmetics: I just discovered you today but I'm already in love with your personality and voice!! Of course I had to subscribe :)

Poppy T: The hair elastics you recommended are £38.65 on amazon.co.uk

Tarot_Charms_Oracles: Ok, I’ve written this before, but I’ll ask (beg) again. I’m trying to do the faux braids and I need a “faux braid for dummies”. Would you do a video using a faux braid down the back and do it repetitively and slowly? I just don’t get it and truly I’m not stupid! I just get lost! Thank you so much and I love your videos!

Maggie's Mama: Great tips--Thankyou!!

Jeanne Robert: Very informative! I didn't know how much I didn't know! ;-) no really, I'm not kidding.

Emily Rosenzweig: This is awesome, thanks!

Kalliste: I always assumed clear plastic elastics were just a 1 time use thing. Never considered I was just buying crap ones :D

Susan Diekmann: Thanks for the tips! I don't see the elastics you're recommending, though. Clicked on the link you provided, but I see nothing under hair accessories. What brand are you recommending?

Hannah Lawler: What a great video!!!

Bobbi Martin: Great video, but I was really hoping you revealed what #5 was since it seemed the best overall. I bought ones you recommended many, many videoes ago but they keep breaking no matter what I do. Are you keeping it under lock in preparation for your brand?

Dyutima Sharma: Quite informative video. I want a suggestion from you.. Dear, would you please tell me how good a lob (haircut) will look on thin/fine hair???

Monica P: As yes .. ruined hair style. I was doing one of your styles, a multiple pony tails in the back of my head and as I was finishing up, the top elastic broke .. grrrr .. no fixing that and had to take all the elastics out. Also, I will say that clear elastics really show on dark hair so I purchased the black elastics. Will look forward to you finding your top brands :-)

Joe A.: Hair looks cute. I practically live my whole life with some kind of hair holder/ elastic son my wrist or my fingers. And obey pins are always littering my floors. Thank goodness my dog doesn't eat them.

Maxime van der A: The ElasticU ones cannot be shipped to the Netherlands. Do you have any other recommendations?

Heather: Love your hairstyle today. Tutorial? Please?

Iniyaa Johnson: I have thick and long hair..will the elastics be tough while removing from my hair?

gen murrai: Thank you so much for this

Chessa Gesch: How do you organize all your hair accessories and products?

CodexPotter: those are the same clear elastics I use!

Paulyyne.m: Thank you for this :) i love your lipstick too

Christina Seybold: Thanks for the great tips! :) Your favorite elastics does not ship to Germany. Do you know good elastics they ship international? We have the same shit in our drugstore like you. :D

ness: i have a lot of hair that’s short plus it’s curly, frizzy, and thick, and when i use elastics i have to take a rat tail comb and either cut it with scissors or i have to pull on the elastic as hard as i can to rip it with the comb rip me

Arya r r: amazing tips milabu

Marea Enochs: I have been WAITING for this video!

Sarayito: me encanta tu canal Milabu latina fanatica tuya saludos

NANII BEAUTY473: Love your video I have learn si much from them.. I wanted to know if you know of any tips or products for super damage over processes hair. If you have done a video about this can you please send me the link. Thank you four your videos

PineappleBaby: I dont understand why you'd want your hairbands to come out like that? I feel like it wouldnt stay very well. I have very fine hair, so i need some staying power!

Mindy Weston: I used your link and it didn't have any info on your approved elastics! Ahh! Hope it shows up. I LOVE your videos!

Sabine Ihde: I don't think the title matches the video very much because a big part of the video were the tests

mary harvold: Try horse tack store. We use them for small braids in horses manes

Andrey Burykin: Those tests are painful on hands!

Mars and Crew: “Because I actually like my hair” dead

Cris L: The best clear elastics are from Primark

emran behroz: Yes! thank you so match.

Alli.: I just buy the cheap ones at the dollar store. I can get like 100 for a dollar and they come in all different sizes, I use them once and throw them away. That way I don't have to try to keep up with them to reuse them, you can just cut them out if they get stuck for some reason, and they are cheap as hell lol.

Iris P: I needed this video. Bought elastics from the dollar tree and they suck. I know nothing about elastics

Lelanka 👌: If I have very long hair should I go for the biggest size? I'm not sure :|

rochelle castrence: This brand sells black Elastic. Is it the same quality?

Angela Burklen: What brand do you use?

ellou tstm: First commentttt, thanks for all the tips ❤

CloudofW: 2:22-2:28 had me burst out laughing idk why just the out-of-focus expression with the quick pulls

Cocinado con Lety: luvvvv it

Elayna Fuller: Ugh I saw this literally 30 min after buying "crap" hair elastics!!

Marina A: The link for the ones you approve doesn't work! or there's no information on what they actually are!

MrsLoretta: Your hair looks cute...You gave yourself a workout with those rubber bands..Hope your hands are ok....xoxox Loretta

Kathy E. and the real life: Cool tips! Thank you for it! Not ship to Germany

Gabriela: Omg you look too good

Frella Dawkins: Beautifull hair☺

SavedSinner 03: You should collab with Kayley Melissa!!!

Sara A: Makeup tutorials pleeeeease!

Emily Merrifield: Are clear hair elastics basically loom bands

Anupriya Basliyal: prsnly didn't find it much useful.... but still I love you more than any subscriber....
