Lace Hair Scrunchie Pony Tail Holder Sewing Tutorial

Hello Everyone!

I put together this scrunchie, no particular inspiration other than Asian cute hair accessories. It is really simple to do:

1. Make a long tunnel

2. close half of the tunnel

3. add a piece of elastic through the tunnel

4. close it off

Wear your beautiful piece of work!

Please leave me all your questions, comments and suggestions I love hearing from you,

Thanks so much for watching

I truly appreciate your time,

Sasa

Hello, it's Asha and today we're going to make this like scrunchie a hair, hair, ponytail holder, see it looks like this and it's actually made of lace. So you just pretty much make the lace you make a tube and then your thread elastic through. So you need safety, pin elastic, and so I have this elastic here and what you need about 7 inches long, because I'm going to double up my elastic cause, it's a bit weak! So it's going to be folded like this, and so it's going to be. But it's like the same as like a general hair elastic, that's for training, four and then two pieces of lace see the two separate pieces and pick the wide width and you're going to need about sixty inches long. It'S about like your arm span! So, stick your arms out long and then measure that and cut two. So you're going to do see you lace. Okay, so make sure you have a wide one see how this edge is a straight edge, and this is kind of like a bumpy. So we're going to take this is one pieces and please going to fold this over. So you have a straight edges on both okay. So what now I'm going to do is because we need to make like a long tunnel on a long, tube Davis. Stick the elastic through so what we do, we're going to use this long machine and sew all the way along this way to the end and all the way, this way, all the way to the end. You could also do this by hand that will work as well or if you have a really wide elastic like this. One is not wide enough, but if you've even wider, you could just fold in half and then sew just the one side and then you're a hair. Scrunchie would be like this. So when you're sewing on the sides, make sure that you don't sew all the way to the edge here, okay, you want to you, don't want to sew all the way to the edge you want to stop about here, because that way when we join it, we'll Have some room to join so right now here, I'm just going to backstitch. Okay, so look I sold all the gin, but I left it a bit open at the end, see okay! So now that you've made a tube to see, you look come here open this and, let's see, there's a tube right. So we take the two ends right and make sure that your loop isn't twisted or anything so take the two ends. You don't want to sew. This quickly shut because we'll then we're gon na put these lost it. So what you two do, is you take open it up? You just want to show so the two inner ones together, not the outer one, so the other still will be a hole. So now we have our tube and so here's the opening right. Okay, so take your elastic. So you can pretend that this is one piece double just to make it stronger. So you put a safety. Pin. Okay, you take it inside, hey you just fish it through. At the moment you you don't want to fish it all the way through, because then you just bring it all the way around and then they'll be a waste. It'S like driving your car through the tunnel. You come on the other end, but you want us, keep it keep the end here. So you just use a pin, see now that won't move so they'll say the opening, and now we fish fish fish fish. Okay, so once you fish your last leg out, pull the sand out and you can undo the pin make sure you hold the elastic, because if you undo the pin - and you just let go well you'll have to fish that again. So you pull this part out. Okay, so you take the safety pin off okay. Now this part, since the elastic is quite thick, it can be difficult to just sew with the machine, so we have to do some hand sewing yeah. I know it sucks, okay, so so we're just going to Hansol the edges the ends together. You don't need that many stitches just a few just to hold it in place and then we're going to use our sewing machine and zig zag over this joint area. Just to give it added strength, okay, so, after you finish the hand sewing, so let's just face it down a little bit we're going to mix you pull this out to get more space place it underneath the machine just with a zig zag stitch after you, Zig Zagged around the elastic just to strengthen it, so we want to close the hole. So we have this opening here. All you have to do is just fold this under it doesn't really matter how you do it. Actually, the point is just to close the hole and then we're just going to straight stitch right or there's another variation that you can do so this is the first one that we made. This is the untwisted version, and this is the twisted version. Okay, so it's like all round away so to make the twisted variation. It'S just exactly as a sound, it's twisted, because normally you would attach this as a complete circle, see it's a complete loop, but to make it twisted what you do. Is you start twisting into a stinging twisting and then you twist it all so it's all twisted down here and then you attach it. So you see how these twists are all over yeah and then you make it the exact same way. Okay! So there's the finish finish: crunchy stretchy it's here! This one is less baggy. So if you don't like it like super poof poof, you can make them adjust the length of the lace. So, like smaller than 16 inches, even half the size see. Look. You can see the elastic here this one, you can't even see the elastic is just like bunch of lace. So thank you for watching this video and I hope you enjoyed it and go out and try this
