In today's video i'll be showing you how i got this super slick ponytail with absolutely no gel at all and as a little added bonus i'll, also be showing you how i did my donut bun. So if you want to see how i did this keep watching so i'm starting on freshly washed hair and i've already added a little leave-in conditioner and i've also detangled my hair. But as you can see here, i'm using my wide tooth comb to detangle my hair for a second time just to make sure that i'm getting out all the kinks. So the product that i'm using for my ponytail is this afro sheen slick back cream styler, and this is my first time using this product, it's fairly new on the market. I think it reminds me of a curling cream, a kind of like cantu, coconut, curling cream, but a lot thicker and i'm just going to get a generous amount. Actually, i'm going to get a lot, i'm going to get a lot and smooth it into my hands and i'm just going to pat and rub this product around the crown of my head and on the sides just to cover all the areas that i think may Need to be slicked down. This is the same process that i would use if i was using like a gel like a eco style gel and i'm also going to add a generous amount to the back of my head, because of course you can't forget about the back. I want all of my hair around the perimeter to be nice and smooth. So usually, when i do a ponytail, i will start with my denman brush, because denman brushes help to smooth out your curls and eliminate any lumps that you may experience when you're trying to do a nice slick ponytail. So i usually start with my denman brush and then i'll come back around and use my bristle brush. So, as you can see, um we can kind of already see that the product is starting to do its thing. It'S looking shiny, it's smoothing out. It'S looking really really good, so i'm just going to keep going around my head brush, brushing it with my bristle brush to make sure i am smoothing it out, i'm kind of brushing and holding my hair at the same time. A lot of you know this process already, but i'm just explaining what i'm doing here so yeah i'm going to get my snappy hair tie. I love this hair tie and i'm just putting it between my index finger and you know my other finger and i'm just going to twist it around my hair a couple times until it's tight and i'm going to snap it together - and here is my uh sock. Donut, all you have to do with a sock. Donut is just get a sock and cut the toe out and just roll it together. Um. Here i got about maybe like three socks, maybe three or four socks, because i like a pretty big donut when i'm doing my sock donut, i do have a little residue on the back of my my neck here there you probably saw that you'll see it again, But um that'll disappear in a moment here. I'M just smoothing out um my hair around the sock donut to make sure that that looks nice and even and here i'm getting a small scrunchie and i just quickly laid that on top of my head and i'm just trying to tuck that in making sure that's Nice and tight - it looks good from here, but i have a lot of excess hair. So i'm just going to separate this hair a little bit and i'm going to start to twist it around twist it around my sock, donut bun, and this is actually going to create kind of a double bun. Look. The double bun look was totally by accident, but it looks really good, so i decided to keep it, but if you have long hair um you have to to and you want to do a sock bun. You have to twist the hair around your bun, because otherwise it's not going to look right. You have to do something with that excess hair. But if you have shorter hair, this works out a lot better because you don't have to tuck or roll anything together. So i'm just going to take a bobby pin, i'm actually taking two bobby pins and i'm going to pin the excess hair into place so that it doesn't move or fall apart or anything like that so yeah. This is already starting to look amazing. I really like this style a lot. I really like the cream. I never thought a cream styler would get my hair as slick as a gel would so now um. I just want to get my edges right. I am using the cream of nature. Argan oil perfect edges on my edges, because i do like slicked down edges. I like the baby hairs to be nice and laid so i'm just laying these down a little bit. I like to have my little um sideburn going on there. Usually i put my little sideburn in there, so i just wanted to lay that down and i'm just going to just quickly try to get these edges together. But thank you guys for watching, and i hope you enjoyed this video you
