How To: Drawstring Ponytail On Natural Hair | Betterlength

Hi everyone welcome back to my channel, it's a girl, walk BIA and in today's video I am going to show you how I was able to achieve this bomb sleek and chic hairstyle, using a ponytail from better less now. Ok, so I decided to try the ponytail this time, and so they sent me this and I'm just like blown away all over again, like remember how back in the day well for me anyway, for every event, I had to go to it, or even, if I Just wanted to like look cute and have a cute hairstyle. I used to go to the hair salon and sit there for hours and hours and hours and hours, but listen in 2018. We do not have to do that anymore. You can't achieve a bomb and great and elegant and classy hairstyle without spending days at the hair salon, and I promise y'all this dude right here takes literally about 10 minutes literally about 10 minutes. If you do decide to get this, so this is better: let's 20 inch ponytail in the afro, kinky coily texture, and I absolutely love it and I was able to like blend it with my hair so that it looks like it's my hair. You know I mean nobody needs to know. You got a drawstring ponytail going on back here. It'S none of their business. Okay! So yes at work when they asked me. Oh my god, I take your hair crew. Yes, it did, it sure did in a week. It did so if you want to see exactly what I did to achieve this hairstyle, this bum ponytail keep on watching. I am doing this on freshly washed hair. I washed my hair last night and I did go in and moisturize and seal that with my hair. Grease and also jamaican black castor oil in my scalp so always make sure that your hair is taken care of before you do a protective style like this, whether you're putting gel in it or not. Just make sure that your hair is well moisturized and also detangled. So I'm gon na go in and start to part my hair, you guys don't have a problem partnering for some reasons in my parts are never straight, so I try to get my part as decent and straight as possible. Okay, so this took me a minute. So once I get the part, I'm like oh right, I'm just gon na detangle, my hair, some more with my wide tooth comb and just start to shape my hair in the shape that I want it to be well mold, my hair, in the shape that I Want to be I'm gon na, take my eco styler gel a generous amount, and I'm going to distribute this throughout my strands and because my hair is so thick, I like to take a lot of gel. This is the only way it's gon na lay down y'all. So take as much as needed, the thicker, your hair, the more gel you're gon na need and then we'll take my brush and just start to smooth my hair and continue molding it into the shape that it's gon na go in, which is the ponytail continue to Smooth it and brush it, then we'll gather my hair in the back and taking a rubber band, I'm going to tie my hair into a ponytail and, as you can see, when I'm tying my hands two points, I'm not gon na tie of pull my hair. All the way through, just like that, I'm just going to put into like a little bun. Okay, then I'm gon na take my got to be glue. You don't have to take this step. Do the step right here, but I want to take this gel so to help it smooth it down even further guys be careful with the step, because I did experience a little bit of flaking. So don't go overboard with the gossipy glue, gel okay and once my hair is as smooth as possible, I'm just checking to make sure I don't have any flyaways and don't worry if you have lumps in your hair we're going to put our headband or our head Scarf on just to lay it down even flatter, oh and also don't forget the nape of your neck. I do forget this stuff, sometimes so right here, I'm just getting the back of my neck and then I'm going to put my scarf on and let this sit and try overnight. I like to tie this real tight, not to get a headache but yet real tight. All right here we go to the next morning. My makeup is done and I'm ready to take down my style. I always get nervous or wrong. I always get nervous, but I'm taking my hairstyle down my I always get nervous when I'm taking down my headscarf cause. I'M a girl did it set and yeah, as you can see here, it did set. So what I'm doing now is just I'm just going to go through with it with my fingers a little bit. I can't explain this step just to get rid of some of the crunchiness okay, the gossipy glue, a gel with the eco styler gel, did lay my hair as flat as possible, and this is what the hair comes in a little satin bag like this so cute. I love their packaging off and then inside you'll get a brochure with instructions on how to wash the hair and maintain the hair and get the best life out of the hair. Okay, and they also sent me a head scarf, which I thought was really really cute. I like it when companies send in a little goodies with their packages and then on to the good part that hair alright. And this is what the 20 inch ponytail looks like straight out of the package and I'm just showing you guys, the drawstrings and what you can adjust to make as tight or as loose as you want. It comes with two combs one in the front, one in the back to attach around the bun, but before I put the butt of the ponytail on, I am going to spray some water in the hair. Just so you know, because it's been in that package for so long. I just want to do that and some foaming styling mousse, I'm gon na put that in the hair just to revive the hair, then I'm going to clip in the ponytail to my bun. On top of my bun and also on the bottom, just to make sure that it's secure, then I'm gon na tighten the drawstring and wrap the string around the bun. Because you don't want that to hang or you don't. And you don't want people to see the string hanging. No one needs to know your business y'all right now, I'm just playing with the hair and fluffing it out, some more just to make it more natural-looking. And here I'm just gon na go in and just you know keeps moving my hair and also pinning my hair. Whatever you have lumps you can take some hair pins, I'm just a lay down some more and that's what I'm doing here, just to secure the ponytails even better all right - and this is what the hairstyle looks like.
