Hey curlfriends Welcome back. Today'S tutorial is going to be this 90's inspired Jumbo Braid Ponytail., I'm starting off on stretched hair., I'm just going to spritz it down with some water using a spray bottle to reactivate my product.. I'M grabbing this boar bristle brush to smooth down my hairline., Adding some gel I'm using some Eco Styler Olive Oil gel with a 10 hold to get this ponytail nice and sleek., Because I have extremely thick hair, I'm grabbing a Goody Headband, which is a large elastic.. I doubled it up and I'm just going to create a side, ponytail. Secure it to your comfort and fluff the hair out of the ponytail.. You want to make sure that you're getting all of the hair so that you can get it nice and flat when you create your plait., I'm going to plait the entire ponytail and get it as flat as I possibly can.. I want this bun to be extremely small., I'm just going to create a bun using the braid, as well as a very small rubber band to hold everything in place. On to the fun part. I'M grabbing some 100 % Kanekalon Braiding hair.. This is $ 1.00 pack, hair that you can find at your local Beauty Supply Store.. I kept the rubber band on there.. I just added a small hair elastic to attach the ponytail to my bun.. This is one full pack of hair., I'm just going to braid that pack of hair all the way down to the end., I'm pretty much just braiding it very loosely because I'll be stretching it to fit over my bun towards the end. Once your Kanekalon braid is Complete we can get on to the fun part now We're just molding and shaping the braid to fit over the top of our natural hair bun.. I'M stretching the hair from left to right., I'm pretty much just making it a little bit more wider and looser so that it lays over the bun as flat as possible. Grab some hair pins to secure everything in to place.. I just stretched the braid over the bun., I'm going to bobby, pin the front the back as well as all of the sides into place.. The braiding hair braid is going to cover up that bun., So just make sure that it's disguising as much as possible., Because I want the braid to lay flat on one side, I'm just bobby pinning the braid itself a little bit to my actual hair itself.. The last and final thing is just to touch up your hairstyle slick down your edges and lay down your baby. Hairs. Baby hairs will make or break this 90's inspired hairstyle., But for the most part your braid will not shift or move.. We have so much security with the bobby pins and the Goody hairband, so it will not shift or move.. I hope you guys enjoyed this protective style. This 90's inspired protective style..
