Barely there wave on short hair is what's trending currently in 2022 y'all. It's a total game changer on short straight hair that you want a little something extra. In this video you'll be seeing a wave for medium to thick hair, but this can also be achieved on fine hair. Take your regular straight hair and add a little twist to it in the front by having a barely there wave that is sure to give it some sass. Products used to prep and finish out the style are also shown in this video, be sure to watch to the end to see how I keep this style in place all day.

Hey everyone and welcome back to my channel. If this is your first time here, i am so glad that you have found my channel. My name is kimber kelly with rustic touch beauty, i'm a licensed cosmetologist of over 10 years now, and i love teaching all things. Hair makeup skincare anything beauty. If you can do it at home, i'm going to teach you how to do it. Today'S episode is how to style your hair, like this, it's kind of as you can see it's straight in the back, but we've got a little bit of a flippy here in the front just to give it a little more edge a little something different than just Having straight hair, so if that is something you want to learn then make sure to like this video tap that bell and subscribe to my channel if you haven't already and keep watching so the first product i'm using is from pomofera. This is a leave-in conditioner. This stuff is incredible: it hydrates and detangles your hair, so i'm going to put that in about a quarter amount of that and i'm just focusing it on kind of the mids to ends one of my favorite brushes to comb out wet hair. Is these wet brushes? I love them, especially for drying, because they're vented, so it's going to allow the heat to still pass through the brush so that it's not totally frying your hair when you're drying it. You want to make sure when you brush your hair, that you're brushing from the ends and kind of working your way up towards the top. That way, you don't cause any more breakage to your hair next product. I'M using is this hair oil also from pomefara. This stuff is lightweight smooth as frizz it tames flyaways adds shine and restores your hair from root to tip, and it's great. If you live in a place that is humid, what's really cool about this stuff, is you can use it as a pre-cleanse? You can use it before you blow dry, your hair. You can use it before you air dry, your hair. You can use it after you've. Dried, your hair, you can also use it as a touch-up oil. This is a jack-of-all-trades. I love this oil. It smells amazing, so roots to ends on that guy. I just had a baby, and all of my hair is starting to fall out next product is the hair resort spray from kevin murphy? This is what's going to give your hair kind of that loose beachy kind of effortless look to your hair, even though we are kind of going for a more sleek, not sleek, more straight with just a little bit of wave to it. I still want to give my hair some texture and dynamic to it, so i'm going to go ahead and spray this in next product. This is also from kevin murphy. This is the anti-gravity spray. Usually, i use this as a finishing hairspray, but i'm actually going to try it as a root lifter. While my hair is wet today, i've never tried it so we'll see what it does. Okay, so my hair is not like stopping soaking wet, so i'm going to go ahead and start to give this kind of a rough dry. You really want to make sure when you are going to dry your hair, that you are not going like from straight out of the shower to drying your hair. You want to give your hair a second to get as much moisture out of it as you possibly can my favorite way to do that is i keep my hair wrapped up in this microfiber towel. You can find these on amazon they're awesome. They soak up a lot of water and moisture out of your hair so that when it's time to dry, it's mostly dry, okay, so my hair still isn't fully dry, so i'm actually gon na move over to this other tool. I had a good friend of mine. Actually give this to me it's from lounge. I don't use it often, but i cannot round brush my hair to save my life, and so this tool is very handy. If you are one of those people who you are like, i cannot figure out the round brush me too, and i'm a licensed hairstylist here, and it's really difficult for me to round brush my own hair. So this has been a lifesaver. My hair still isn't fully dry, like i said so, i'm going to go in and start round brushing it. Okay, so now that the sides have been kind of brushed round brushed out, i have this kind of mohawk section right here, so i'm going to show you guys how i dry my hair right here. I take my clip - and i section out this first part like that, and then i'm going to clip this away like this. Actually, let's put it off to the side, so i can see what i'm doing then, i'm going to take the powder puff volumizing powder and i'm going to apply this right to the base of my hair, to give it even more volume. So you can kind of see here how my hair is still somewhat wet, but it's probably like 95 dry, so you still kind of want it wet not totally dry yet, and i'm just going to apply that right at the base. Do some right here too, since i'm in that last section in the front - and i do have this on the cool setting, because the cool setting is still somewhat warm. So i don't want to put like scorching hot heat on hair. That'S almost dry, so my hair kind of naturally fell not quite in the middle, not quite all the way to the side, so we're just we're going to go with that part for this look now we're moving on to my straightener. So i'm going to show you guys how i still create texture within my hair using um a flat iron, so this first section we're just gon na straighten. You can kind of bubble it in. If you want i'm more just gon na try to keep it just going straight down versus beveling in just for this specific look today: okay, so this next section here, my kids jamming out to alvin and the chipmunks. So this next section, i'm gon na straighten this piece. That'S right! Next to my face, that's kind of like my hairline, but then right behind it. This is where i'm going to give it texture, so i'm going to go up down up down up just like that. So i created a wave essentially within my hair, but this is gon na give it some crazy good volume, so we've kind of created some volume within here that you won't see. Now these sections just do as normal, just like we did with the hair dryer we're going to take this mohawk section and we're going up so now with these ones, i'm kind of going forward with them now, but i'm not smoothing the ends, i'm just more. Focusing on the top, because once i get all this out of my face, i'm going to show you how i smooth the ends so just kind of focus on mid outgrowth, outgrowth outgrowth to mids, but i'm not really hitting those ends at all. So now that my hair is just kind of parting, wherever it's gon na part, that's where now that it's laying here, i'm gon na work on those ends. If i did bring them all forward as soon as they're laying where they're supposed to lay they would be like flipping out, so that's why i'm going back through and smoothing those ends in the direction i want them to go. Okay and now for the fun part, you can either take your flat iron if you don't want to like whip out another tool or i'm going to show you how i give my hair just like a slight bend in front using a curling iron. Okay. So this front section right here: i'm going to curl just ever so slightly away from my face: okay, let that cool down and then same thing on this side and since my hair is kind of going off to the side. Now i'm going to take one section behind that and do the same thing i'm going to take the do-over powder from also from kevin murphy. This is kind of a dry powder that just gives your hair even more volume. Now i'm just going to take the session spray. This is strong hold spray, but what i like about it is, it still gives movement to your hair and you can still move your hair around. It'S not like you're, going to feel like a helmet head. That is not the case with this stuff; it just gives it enough hold that you can still work with your hair, so i'm kind of spraying it from the bottom. Then i'm taking my finger and i'm like pointing my hair in the direction that i want it to lay see how i'm doing that all right. That is it. I hope it didn't seem like too many steps, but that is kind of how i get kind of a straighter hairstyle, but still giving the front a little bit of juju. Is that the right word little jojo to it to give it more of a fun funky. Edgy style versus just being like straight right around your face. It just gives it something fun and something a little bit different. I will make sure to put everything that i used in this video in the description box below. So, if you are interested in trying any of it, it will all be linked right there and make sure that you are also following me over on instagram and tick.
