Now, what's up guys so today, I'm gon na be talking about how to cut and style Asian hair, pretty generic topic. I know yeah before that, though check out my desperation. Setup got a microwave and a cardboard box. As my stand, anyone natural lighting got to do what you got to do, but yeah so getting into the hair style and like how to how to cut Asian hair and style it so yeah, I'm pretty sure most people already know it's like a pretty popular haircut. It'S the the to block haircut, it's kind of like a disconnected undercut, and then you just like I guess, like the bowl cut or whatever a lot of k-pop people have it but yeah. So my hair style is like similar to that. It'S like a like a two-block, I'm gon na ask the guy for two block, so this is this is like I just wet my hair and tell dried it, and this is what it's like yeah. It'S like. I haven't styled it. I haven't put anything in yet, but I see a lot of these videos of how do you, how to cut and style Asian hair online, but they never really seem to talk about this. One thing where you know there's this disconnect part, but what I see a lot, what I see happens a lot is people tend to make the split a little too high. In my opinion, it really depends on the hairstyle, but if you put your split too high, it kind of looks ugly. In my opinion, you you get like the if, like, if you're, not Asian, you have like that. What do you call this this face? You know it's very narrow as like v-shape, but if you're like Asian, a lot of Asians tend to have that round face. So if you end up putting the cut higher, if you can, if feel like really emphasize the egg shape or like not the egg shape like a circular shape and my opinion - that's not very good. So so what I recommend is to actually draw a thing down. So like originally, I had the drop or like the upper split like right up: here's how it was that was actually a little high, and then I confirmed this when I came to Japan - and I just got my first jet haircut in Japan like two three days Ago and then I was talking to the guy, and yet he recommended that I should drop it down a little bit so from here. It'S not like a significant difference, but now the drop yeah, a lot of people will tend to make the drop right here. But I put the split right here and that way it's like there's no more like how you say it: it's uh Wow, my skin is kind of dirty whatever, though yeah. So, if you put it like right here, there's less of that, you don't you know. Do you not, I mean it's like you know it's a you could style it from here, but if you make the split like more higher up and then if you shave it like this, I'm keeping this long. That'S why it's! But if you shave it, you start getting this real, like poofy up cuz Asian hair, really proofs out so but yeah. That'S like the basic I mean, like all the all the other cutting and styling asian here is the same, but I just wanted to point out this um the split a lot of people they they go way too high. In my opinion, just looks bad, so I'm gon na try and style it now. So what I usually use to style. My hair is just like some Gatsby just put a bit on my finger yeah. So once you simply style it, it's gon na be something like this. It'S hard to see in the camera, but yeah I mean something simple like this. I just put wax scrunch it up style like that. You can also, do I mean this, this hairstyles pretty versatile. You can go and put it up, stick it back or something yeah. I don't know you could try doing sleep just pushing back or something I don't know I mean you can do something like the split like this like style points for this little piece of hair. Right here, no, maybe put it aside out of them, but yeah I mean this hairstyles, pretty versatile, it's pretty nice! I like it, but if you're gon na slick it back I'd recommend just like while it's wet blow-dry it back and then put your product in mine. Was already like down, so it's kind of hard to do that, but yeah I mean okay, you can put it up. You can put it down yeah, really anything yeah, just ask for like a two-block and just make sure you don't well depends on your haircut too, and you should really consult with your barber or your hairstylist or whatever, but yeah. If you live in the West, people who cut hair there, a lot of them aren't really used to cutting Asian hair or, like Asian head shape, so they automatically assume you have like that Western head shape, so they this. So they start putting the the split way too high on some asian people and that just that really just doesn't look good in my opinion, so yeah I'm just putting out this tip. Maybe you can incorporate it into your hairstyle and yeah. Hopefully this helped you in some way. If the student, I don't know, hope you still enjoyed it and I will see you guys around peace.

Jeffrey W: Thanks for the tips man. My stylist asked me what I wanted this time and I had to sit him down and show him this video. Listen mate you been cutting hair the wrong way for years. Afterwards he gave me the freshest cut I've had in 20 years. Thanks man you're a life changer!

J H: Thanks for the tip. I wasn’t sure why I couldn’t get the sides of my sons hair to fall correctly. Your tip makes so much sense. Also the “v” in the back instead of the “u” makes a big difference in the back.

Celeste Amour: So true. I'm a barber and I literally had a client today that showed me a picture of a white guy hairstyle and he was upset with me when I told him his hair isn't gonna sit like a white guy with fine hair. That part of the hair you mention just doesn't sit like other hair types on Asian hair. It would be nice if clients would bring pictures that resemble their hair type. I know Asian hair is straight but it's just different from white hair, white guys with curly hair don't come asking for an afro, I don't know why some people are so unreasonable.

SmediumL: In my area, barbers dont know what a two block hair cut is, I show them pictures before they start cutting but they never get the look that I like.. sucks for me

greywolfember: oh my GOD this is /exactly/ what I was trying to explain to my not-asian barber and was my big complaint with my haircuts these past many years. (yup, on the West). thank you so, so much, this makes a lot of sense. I've been realizing that stuff hasn't been working because I haven't been looking with the lense of /asian/ hair. thank you so much again seriously

John Tran: You literally explained Asian hair texture and the hair part technique PERFECTLY.

JBoy: Thanks man. Discovered this video a year ago and have been inspired by this style of hair since. You have def changed the way I get my haircut

Leon Hundon: 3:19 BROOO for years my hair has always poof’d up there. I had no idea if it was just me but now I see it’s not just me. Thanks for this!

Alyssa Peters: As a barber, I am so glad I found this video!! Super helpful

Leslie Moreno: I really appreciate how genuine you are!!

Tugg Speedman: I’m half Filipino and half Irish. I’ve always had trouble with barbers cutting my hair like a “white guy haircut” even though my features are mostly Asian. Always had trouble with them bringing my fades too high. I found that asking for drop fades has helped them shape it better.

Doctor Based: Bro I have an Afro why am I watching this

OMFGLOLROTFLWTF: They disconnect the split higher up because thats the natural part of the hair (when it starts growing to the side instead of the top. If you mess around with your hair when it has some length you can definitely tell which hair is supposed to go where. But I agree though, when people go for the disconnected look they tend to do it too high, you can leave a bit of length even when it starts growing to the side and just use hair product or blow dry to the top.

Lui: Yeah i get what he means with the poofy parts at the disconnection. I currently have that problem and its bad. I tend to just slick it back now. Im trying to grow my hair out to the point where i can lower the disconnection

Sam Broten: I'm always wondered why I always look like a circle after I get a hair cut and I'm pretty sure it's because of the split being too high thing

Shab0y: Good video, I’m Asian and I cut my own hair and when I cut the sides too high on my undercut it looks bad so thanks for the tips bro!

dessy: Trying to learn how to help my bf style his hair cause he’s always frustrated with it and I wanted to help him with his confidence ( but I have no clue on how to style it!!! ). Long story short thanks for all the tips c:

Xhibit56: I think the split should be done a little higher if one has super-straight hair. Not too high, but just up to the side of the head.

ワーングーザーカリー: Lmao I totally agree with the split thing, I’m Chinese and the typical split on my head is pretty high

Ben Lee: U saved me before my haircut bro, thx!

Kira Yoshikage: Asian hair in my opinion is one of the most difficult hair to fade because when our hair is shorter it just protrudes out and when u look directly at it, it looks like it’s all the same length even tho their not.

Anissa Morrison: I've had that exact problem with the stylist making the split too high. I had to wait a long time for that hair to grow back and it stuck upward the entire time -_-

NONAME: I've got the same problem when the cut is too high. It doesn't look good. But now I already told the barber to make the cut lower. Also planning to lengthen my hair

Neredan: im not asian but have the same type of hair actually. exact same experience. thanks mate ;)

Christian: I thought this was gonna be clickbait but you just confirmed my thoughts abt the side shave thing. I know exactly wat u mean abt the round shape. Cant wait to try it lower next time

keoface: Can second this, switch from an American undercut to a long two block, never looked back.

Nick Ruhl: Wow finally someone who understands asian hair thank you!

pickle: your hair already looked really good at the beginning of the video. did you do anything to it to make it look like that?

md: I agree about dropping the slit, I see some of my friends have it even higher and I’m like something is off lol

Miguel: bruh i've had the two block cut for I think more than 2 years now and I've always thought the disconnect was too high, I'll show this vid to my stylist next time I get a hair cut

Zijian Ng: U forgot to mention the "partial blended " which is kinda what u have on the sides. It reduces the visibility of guard line (something that asains tend to have in a faded haircut) .

Angelina Nhep: If he doesn't do modeling at least part time I'm pretty sure most of us will be rly disappointed lmao

Crow: i think people also forget that central asians (including indians who tend to have very thick hair) have about the same qualities in hair. although some might have coarser hair, asian hair tends to be pretty thick

Sérei Ouk: You just save my life man, i've always got the classic kpop haircut and the split is way to high you're right

Jeffrey Mark: That's dope bro. I'm always worried about what kind of hair I wanna try it for the past 2 years and I never came to notice this. Subbed

BC: That feel when you cut your hair the wrong way then watch this video

La'keycia C: Your hair even looked good before you styled it lol

Watch your profanities -: Guy styling my hair yesterday had never even met an Asian person. Safe to say that my hair looks terrible now and I’m really insecure about going outside.

lilVolant: Having the split too high part is sooooo true

Amuzak Used: Whenever I go to cut my hair it just turns out.. meh... a month and a half later it's good, then another 2 months and it needs a cut. That's my hair life

Aven: yeah I don't think barbers in my area know the term two block hair cut so I just said undercut but I said to place the undercut lower hahaha, probably a real bad description but definitely worked

Rabiatou Drawings: Someone get this dude a modeling gig

walter: I had this haircut before until i started cutting myself they always cut the back of my hair off and only left the sides and front it got annoying

Jetrho Paulino: THATS EXACTLY WHAT MY BARBER DID TO MY PART, SO IM GROWING IT OUT NOW AND CHANGING THE PART

The Pride of London: Ill definitely keep this in mind next time

Who ate my burrito bro?: Aye bro exactly!!!! In LA all they do is cut it up waaaay too high. Cuz once my barber actually did it the way you explained it but I think he smokes way too much weed cuz he forgot how it should be done and now all he does is just chop my hair off thinking he's doing a good job cuz he goes too high. Asian hair is different

Dhruv Bala: thanks for the tips g. I've found out that even though I'm Indian, a lot of styles that work on other Indian men don't work on me, since I have more thick straight hair--a lot like yours in this video.

Lily117 j: Honestly he’s handsome ain’t gonna lie

TheLocochico: Ah my hair pops up on the same place , not Asian just have kinda semi round head shape. Its really hard for me to find a proper hairstyle because if I cut it a bit too short my head looks long af but if I cut it a bit longeg it looks round like watermellon xD

Matthew N.: For this style, how do I give instructions to the barber (especially for the back)?

a piedra: im latino but this is literally my head shape is pretty round.. im gonna use some of these tips the next time i get a haircut

Annaliese Martinez: Lol I have a son now so I'm now watching hair tutorials

Harrison Allsopp: My Asian hair is weird , it always becomes really fluffy and sort becomes like a afro although I'm a mix of Asian and english

Yummy Tummy: At 3:15 how long did you have to grow out that part of your hair and how long is it? Xx

Jay Liu: So if I have a combover haircut, I should drop the part more? Or does this only apply to this 2 block hairstyle

Jarrett Stiles: How long did it take you to grow out the top back? (Beneath the crown area) because I also noticed not a lot of people talk about that part when talking about the two block.

user: I wish I watched this before chopping all my hair...and I’m a girl. Oh well!

Kriti Shrestha: Is it possible for hair to grow out in your forehead if you keep your bangs down all the time?

LazyTurtle: What clipper size/hair length do you have on the top and sides?

Just me: Since im Turkish (asian) I guess these asian hair tutorials are the only one helping me. The american or european I watch dont have the black thick hair. Mostly light thin hair. So true words you are saying. I have the same problem with the "split".

N4tural / D4NK: Honestly, even before styling it, he looks fucking nice

Joobzi Joober: This is why I always get haircuts from my papa.

Pelvis Helvis: I asked for a two block at a Japanese hairdresser but they said my hairs too short. I guess I need to grow it out

KuKu Kuuuma: How do you get that disconnect line lower by yourself? Mine changed pretty much every single time and it's ugly, living in LA but even the Asian barbers here don't understand how to do that

Crecked: any tips to keep the sides short but still not look round or like an oval or an egg?

Ngawang: Thanks for the first tip man

Eli's Channel: BTW: This video helped me cut my friend’s hair :)

Emmy G: I would watch an hour long video of you just running your hands through your hair

arvin ridhwan lim: so u just cut lower at the side ? how bout the split higher , doesnt it become too thick if u didnt cut it ?

Marv: I have the same issue of the high disconnect, but how do I tell em to lower the disconnect? are they gonna just put another line to it?

SKYMEISTA: Couldn’t have talked about the place to cut the sides up to better. Pretty much every time I get my hair cut I tell the barber to under cut only up to about an inch or half inch from where the corners are. Last time I had long hair on top and they cut up to the corners it was pretty much a wide mowhawk..

Carlo Leandro Gonzales: thanks for the tips, that's my problem as well. Problem solved. Drop the side by two inch.

Claymore007: Well thanks for the hair tips. Now i know how to cut my sides.

Joshua Johnson: I’m not Asian, but I got hair just like that where it poofs out on the sides

Michelle Wu: The wax thing was exactly what I needed to learn to be a guy.

Dan N: Game changer knowledge that I never even noticed. Thanks gee

GermanDude: A hairdresser once told me, Asian Hair is just like Straight Afro-Hair.. I didnt knew how to work with that info.... lol xD

Mason Maralit: my barber put my split too high like 3 years ago and now every salon or barber shop i go to they put it all the way up‍♂️

Ropes and Dragon Eggs: I’m a woman with long and thick straight hair. I don’t need these tips... but nice hair!

Bret: I'm Native American and my hair is the exact same way, I'm gonna try the two block and tell my stylist to lower the seperation to where you said

Aidan Saengthong: my guy has some of the nicest asian hair ive seen i wish i was blessed i got straight ass hair

Vorade Akiyama: how much hair do you cut for the top part of your hair ?

canetheunicorn: ur skin is incredible and supple i’m shook

bunbun서니: I think my biggest problem is my extremely thin hair....

Alif Afnan: you look good before and after apply the wax omg

walter: Hy the way i love your style in these vids you can make things work

Sean Li: My hair repels curling, gel, hair wax, and bed head... I think it’s straight forever

Alex: My barber cut the sides way too high and I had to part it the other way but it looks better on this side now

Rin Okumura: thanks for this video bro haha i lowered my lines too so yeah thanks

milbonn: what if you have a receding hairline? how high should the part be?

Nam Thien Vo: totally agree with nonasians usually cut our lines too high up

edmarie sosa: I had to watch this twice because the first time I was just focused on how cute you are. Thanks for the video though! Very informative for me as a hairstylist. Been waiting for someone to sit in my chair and ask me for this

RB7: what clipper size did you get on the sides?

John Nichol: This is a fucking life changing video

Inego Dofredo: Thid really helped me lmao....... and honestly your skin is not that bad.... no homo but u look pretty good imo

nojuhyun: I want his exact hair cut. :)

New change unlisted_viewer: Your hair looks really "light" Did you get it thinned out as well?

Dot Com: Thank you so much for the video

Forgotten: Me: *Hits my head on bed and spins* Perfect.

韩鲁: Bro you have a perfect jawline. What do you do to get such a perfect jawline? I wanna get rid of this unbalanced jawline :<
