This holiday season, I’m participating in the #100YEARSxHOLIDAYHAIR campaign with other All Things Hair ambassadors!

Visit http://bit.ly/IngridATH for more of the best holiday hairstyles from the last 100 years.

We’re showcasing how festive holiday hairstyles have changed through the decades, starting in the 1920s and working up to present day. Using products in the 100 Years of Holiday Hair box, I put a modern and festive twist on an iconic look.

My halo braid is inspired by a classic hairstyle from the 2010s, aka modern day. Recreate this look for your next holiday party and share it on social media using #100YEARSxHOLIDAYHAIR and #AllThingsHair.

I created this video in partnership with All Things Hair™, a Unilever channel. All opinions and are my own.

^^^^ I'm doing giveaways across all my social media platforms this month! Make sure you're following me so you can participate :)

Hey everyone, so you may be wondering why I look like I'm ready to party this holiday season. I am partnering with all things. Hair bt-dubs really excited to be working with them again as part of their 100 years of holiday hair campaign. Ten youtubers have come together to recreate party hairstyles inspired by classic looks over the past ten decades. You can visit all things, hair, calm, to see all of the looks from the last 100 years and get even more hair inspiration, and just so you know my decade is the two thousand teens. That'S what I'm calling it. So this is the hairstyle that I created for this decade, because I think that braids really sum up this last decade in terms of hairstyles they've been really popular and all over the internet and best of all they're really fun to play with plus, I think they're, Especially perfect for a holiday party, all of us creators receive the all things hair holiday box and we have the same products to choose from to create our looks so, let's rewind to earlier today when I first received the mystery box, because I didn't know what was Inside yet all right, so I just got this box from all things hair, and this is the same box that all of the other creators that are doing the 100 years of holiday hair series also received, and we all got the same products inside. So, let's see what they are, so that is everything inside of the box and there's a really great selection of products here that can help you create any party look, and I already have some ideas of what I want to use today, to create the look that I have in mind to show you guys so, let's get this party started, so I started off by washing my hair with the suave coconut oil infusion, damage, repair, shampoo and conditioner. This system is awesome because it repairs visible damage in just three uses and provides weightless moisture for healthy looking hair and before I get into blow-drying my hair. Today, I'm going to be using the nexxus hydro, light leave-in conditioning foam, I'm applying one pump of this to my damp hair. You can use a little bit more if you have longer hair, but since mine is pretty short, I don't need that much. Then I'm just gon na come in and blow-dry my hair and I'm not doing anything special, just drying it, and then I like to brush through it a little bit just so everything is nice and easy to work with so now getting into the hairstyle. I like to part my hair using a chopstick. I find this to be very easy and convenient, so I make a deep part in my hair and I go about 3/4 of the way back across my head. I draw a line across so I can create a divide between the front section and the back section, and this just helps me when I'm braiding, to keep the back section of hair out of my way, I'm just gon na clip it back with a little clamp. I'M taking my chopstick again and creating a little mini part and now getting into the braid I'm going to start off with a regular braid. This is the base of a French braid, so you just use your three pieces to create the very start of a regular braid. Then I take a back section of hair and grab it and add in to one of the outer pieces of the braid, and then I bring that section into the middle and then, as I move to the front where my forehead is, I grab a section of Hair and add it into that outer piece and then bring it into the middle. So what you're going to keep doing as you go down, is grabbing sections from the outside and adding them into those outer edges and then bringing them into the middle and that's what creates a French braid. So I'm just going to keep doing that all the way down until I get to about where my ear is and I'm going to stop grabbing sections of hair and just continue down with a regular braid, I'm going to stop with about an inch or so of Hair and secure it with an elastic, then I'm just going to do the exact same thing on the other side, and this side is going to be a little bit tighter in terms of the braid just because I have less hair to work with. So it starts off really small, but, as you grab more sections of hair, it kind of fills out a little bit more and a tip with both of these braids is try to braid back instead of forward. So that way, when you pin your braid back later, it's already going in the direction that you want it to go in now. Personally, I like this look when it's a little bit more undone, so what I like to do is come in and massage the braids, and I just do this by grabbing the braid near the elastic and working my way up, and I just kind of rub. My fingers together along the braid, and it creates that really nice lived-in texture. It also creates more volume, the more that you play with the braid now for the back section of my hair, what I do to get it all up is I twist sections of hair starting at the very back, and then I kind of wrap it around itself And then pin it, and I do this all the way around to the front. I'M gon na take the first grade that I started with and bring it around to the back and secure it with a bobby pin. Then I'm going to take the other braid and wrap it around and secure it with another bobby pin, and then I come in with my hands and just give my entire head a massage. Basically, and this just loosens everything up, it creates more volume and it gives you that messy what nice look that I really really loved. Last but not least, it's time for the hairspray, I am using the Tresemme tres two extra hold hairspray. This helps lock in my final look and protects against flyaways and humidity, and here it is. This is the finished. Look. I really love this look because it keeps my hair out of my face. It'S really easy to do. I also really love how this looks with a statement lip and a fun dress and what says the holidays like a sparkly dress. I couldn't resist alright, I hope you guys enjoyed this holiday party hair tutorial. You can see what the other all things, hair ambassadors created for their decades by clicking the link down below in the description box. I can't wait to see what everybody came up with and if you decide to recreate this look yourself make sure you post them using the hashtag 100 years ex holiday hair. Thank you so much for watching at this video. Ashley Malone: I miss your old videos ingrid!! they were so fun and energetic. Not Scripted for a product.

Milky: Pains me when youtubers start doing "easy", non-challenging videos just to work in 5 second commercial monologues for money. Ingrid doesn't do the whole "if i haven't tried and liked the product im not praising it"-policy like some others and it really shows. If I wanted commercials I'd watch tv. I'm just not entertained anymore.. So sad when I've watched her for five years.

tropical girl: love you ingrid u just make me happy

Mrs. Schrado: In your next hair video please show the back of your hair once finished. :) Just curious, why isn't this video posted on the All Things Hair page?

Sydney: I love Ingrid's eyes! <3

Cécilia: You're beautiful Ingrid :)

Alexa Frankovitch: Guys I know she's been doing more sponsored videos lately but one, it's how she makes a living. And two, it genuinely doesn't matter. You don't think she wasn't going to do a holiday hair style video even if it wasn't sponsored? All that's different with this one is that she talks about some Suave shampoos. If you don't think companies are catching on to the fact that they can market via YouTubers you are in for a surprise over the next few years.

Kelly McKelly: Very cute!

Helena Egbert: The picture falling and your face are a great piece of un mentioned comedy :))

Aria Lover: INGRID A SWEETEST PERSON EVER!

Arcana_Incantatrice: sooooo cute <3

By C.: Why have i never tried using a chopstick to part my hair! GOTTA TRY IT SOMETIME HEH! <3

Natalie Coronado: QUEEN!

Zoe Nicoll: YAY congrats on 4 million!!!

msbbdarling: I love that you have short hair and are partnered w a hair company fuck yes power to the short haired ladies! Lollll luv u Ingrid ;)

Emily: this look really ages you.

Aj Cardone: Who else saw Ingrid in the YouTube Rewind?!I just reacted to it on my channel if you'd like to check it out

Caryn Wilson: Love this. when the picture fell

Jenn S: This Ingrid is cool too. But I really miss the old Ingrid.

Fiza Khan: You're so preety I'm so JELOUS ❤️❤️

Daniel May: ingrid nilsen you look beautiful

kyeoptawerk93: I think Ingrid should take into consideration that many of her long time subscribers are frustrated with the sponsorships and have been vocal about it. not saying she should completely stop doing them, but if she could balance sponsored with non-sponsored more that would make a lot of her viewers happy. for me, I still find the value of the content in her sponsored vids and her hawking the products doesn't bother me but it would be nice to see more that are not sponsored or are a little less polished/perfect if that makes sense

wingedshoes7: The look on your face when the picture fell in the back was so funny!

Ennas: ooh that's really cute :)

clean cut: Ingrid is soooo ZEN to me

Liviee Christine: This has nothing to do with this video but I really miss your vlogmas videos

Katie Lee: trying it now!

Victoria T. Similien: I need that lip color !!!

Ela: i loveeeee your lipstick

ninas90: i personally think the hairstyle makes you look older. it's pretty nevertheless.
