Music: Brand New Day - Daniel Robinson

Hi everyone, so today's video is going to be me, showing you how I blow-dry my hair just using a round brush and a blow dryer. So no flat iron is needed for this video, and this is pretty much how I blow-dry my hair, regular movie. I try not to use my flat iron that much and I would only use it occasionally um if I feel like it's worth the extra effort I'll go in and I'll just like smooth out the ends a little bit if that makes sense, but on a daily Basis, I don't feel like, I need it, and I really just try to give my hair that blow-dry look that get when you go to Hair Salons. So this video is pretty much just showing you how I do it um it's going to be a voice over video, so I'm going to try to explain things as much as I can, but so that you just have an idea before we move on into the Video, I feel like the key thing with giving you that blow-dry look that you get out. Hair Salons is giving it volume and I love using the round brush and basically my entire focus is trying to give my roots on volume. So you're going to see in my video that I'm going to go like opposite directions: I'm always lifting my hair high, focusing like literally on my roots, just so that it just gives it that very nice volume when it falls down and it like it has movement. So I did have a haircare routine video when my hair was long where I showed you how I curled it and um blow-dried it. But ever since I cut my hair, I think the only video I had um was me curling, my hair, so I figured this. Would be helpful for all of you who have shorter hair just to see how I just blow-dry it straight like so I actually meant to New York this weekend. I took some pictures at Central Park. It was beautiful Falls definitely already here and you see all the leaves are changing colors and it's just gorgeous. So if you want to check those pictures out, don't forget to check out my blog and yeah, so don't forget to subscribe like comment, let me know what you think of this video and I guess I will talk to you very soon. Thank you so much so as soon as I get out of the shower, I apply the heat protectant because I feel like it helps come out all the knots out of my hair and then I go and apply the Nioxin Roux treatment and I just blend it In with my fingers, then I go ahead and I apply this root volumizer and this one is by Sebastian and Kane in one of my glossy boxes and I really like it so I just lift up my hair and spray it at the roots and then just Blend it in with my fingers and after this I really don't apply anything else. I find that with shorter hair, whenever I apply a leave-in conditioner, it really waves my hair down, so I just choose not to apply anything else. So the very first step is for me to blow-dry my hair upside down, and I find that this gives it a lot of volume and movement, and I do this for a couple of minutes. Until my hair is not soaking wet, then I comb my hair through with a regular brush and I make sure all the knots are out and I begin to part my hair in sections to part my hair. I just use these plastic clips and I part my hair in a big section at the top, and then I divide both sides of my hair into two in order to get that really nice blow-dry at home. Look, you need a good quality brush and there's different types in different sizes, which all depend on your hair type. So if you're not sure which one to buy, you can even go to Ulta and they have hairstylist there. That could help you out in choosing the perfect brush for your hair. So here I'm blow-drying, my very first section and it might seem a little repetitive as you watch the video, but all I'm doing is trying to give it movement and bring it upwards to give it volume, and you want to make sure your hair is completely dry. Otherwise, it might like look nice at first, but it will get frizzy throughout the day if you don't flow dry it thoroughly, so just make sure it's very dry. Now I moved on to the other section and I'm just giving it volume, as you see lifting it up, and I pretty much do the same technique throughout the entire section you so I'm just finishing up here my left side and I moved on to my right Side and to say time, I didn't film it completely, but I did exactly the same thing so here, as you see, I'm just finishing up so here I'm technically done with both sides, but I'm just going to go in my top section as close to the road As possible and try to give it a little bit more volume before I move on so now, I'm just going to be pulling back my hair with the hair tied and I'm not going to tie it to tykes. I don't want to crease my hair, but I'm only going to be doing this for a couple of seconds, but I'm going to divide the top section into two and I'm going to be blow-drying. The one section outwards into the back and the front part frontwards. So here, as you see, I'm just blow drying the roots and trying to lift it, give it volume and I'm going to let it fall towards the back. And then I move on to the front section and I blow dry front words, because when I lift it and comb it back, it's going to have that extra volume. And here I'm just rolling it up into the brush and I'm going to be doing the same thing. I did with the other section so just flow drawing it backwards and, as you see it's just creating a lot of volume and as soon as I take the hair tie, you see all the movement and volume that it created in my hair. Then I use a regular brush to comb out my hair and, as you see, I'm still using the blow-dryer and I like to comb it out in different directions to give it movement again. I feel like I'm being repetitive, but it's really all about movement and volume and that's why I use this brush to comb it out here. I'M just parting, my hair and I am technically done, but because I'm a perfectionist, I'm going to go back and just reduce some of the sections up top and trying to give it a little bit more volume. But really I could already be done so here. I'M just finishing up and parting my hair into the side, and sometimes I will part it in the middle, but there's really no difference and I will be showing you what it looks like in the back. So you guys always ask me to show the back of my haircut, so I figured, I would show you how it looks blow dried and, as you see it's still straight, but yet it still has a lot of movement and volume, okay guys. So that is it for today's video don't forget to like and comment the video and let me know what you think and I will talk to you very soon: bye, guys

mercifl1: Honestly, I just watched your video because I saw you weren't holding the dryer by its handle. Why didn't I think of that?! I have very short arms and have been having a helluva time blow-drying my own hair! Your volumizing technique also seems more advanced than what I've seen before, so thanks a million!

esther: Such a good video, easy to do and my hair looks SO much better! Lovely and bouncy Thanks!

Shereen Jimenez: I tried this today and I just love how my hair looks right now! Thank you!

Weijing Wang: Your video is sooo helpful, first time I absolutely loved how my hair look after I did it myself. I cant thank you enough:)

Sharon Johnson: This was super helpful! I need to do something different with my straight hair. I think I wasn't getting it all the way dry. Thanks so much!

KristenMee: Thank you!! this makeup was really simple and easy! If I remember how I did it, I will film a tutorial. :) xo

Clash: This was really helpful, especially for someone with less than thick hair! :) thank you!

Toank Nguyen: Thanks so much, the technique is awesome, my hair has never been this voluminous. totally gorgeous!

buggy627: i love your videos, kristen!! they are such high quality and always so put together <3 you should make more vlogs!

Jean Keats: Came out FABULOUS! Love the color. Mine is very similar, only platinum but not by choice. You did a great job!

KristenMee: Hi Sarah, thank you so much! To answer your question, no, I only get a salon bow dry when I get highlights or a haircut. It's really not worth it for me to pay for something I can do in 15min myself. :) xo

ReneeT: Thank you for the tips. You have beautiful silky hair. It looks so healthy!

SarahDB89: Great Video! So helpful. Love all of your videos Kristen. Do you ever go to your hairdresser for a salon blow dry? Your techniques remind me of when I get my hair done with all of the sectioning. Thanks.

Geane Cahu: que cabelo lindo

ilikeitrough889: You should try the Pureology Pure Volume Levitation Mist. It's an awesome volumizing spray. You can use it on wet hair before you blow dry, or you can use it on dry hair later on in the day to refresh your style with more volume. I'm a hair dresser and I've tried EVERYTHING, but finally fell in love with the Levitation Mist....I have a feeling you'll love it.

Crislus Paulino: Thank you for this video. I have the same type of hair and I learned a lot from you.

Jean Keats: I like the music in the video. Yes, her hair is pretty much naturally straight, however, mine has a natural wave in it. If I blow dry my hair with an Ibiza brush and blow dryer, it comes out sleek very easily. Her hair is very pretty. Love the color. I never liked my natural color because it was heavily pigmented with red. I used ash brown to tone that down. Now, my hair has turned platinum and I'd gladly take the red highlights instead. AAaahhhh, the grass is always greener! LOL!

Pandaholic7913: Oh my God dear, you are so pretty! Thank you so much for this. I'm really having a hard time doing it myself and I always ask for my mum's help. :) I'm a new subscriber. Hoping to see more. x andrea

Laci Kay: Love this video! It helped me so much! You are beautiful and I'm so jealous of your hair! It's gorgeous!!

GG: ESTOU APAIXONADA POR ESSE CORTE. *----*

Stephanie-Jayne Grindley: I've found this video so helpful. Thank you. My hair is a similar length and thickness to yours by the looks of it. I'd love to know what heat/power setting you have your dryer on please. I must treat myself to a larger barrelled brush asap!! I think that's where I'm going wrong using one too small x

Cynthia: It looks beautiful!

Christine Ng: Omg I think this video is gonna save my life thank you so much! I'm stuck with this shoulder length hair and I just have no way to dry it nicely

Bridgette Bennett: I’m gonna try this tomorrow morning! I have the exact hair. And I always want that look from the hair dresser!

Rachel Householder: loveee your videos! please a tutorial for the makeup you have on in this video, i love it! :)

KristenMee: Obrigada, querida! Beijinhos :)

Yining Feng: It's helpful. I got the same length hair with you now. And this is the only video which I find solve the problem. Love it!

camila pastene: Hola kristen, te sigo desde hace algún tiempo, soy de chile y me encantan tu concejos de belleza. Actualmente tengo una melena (midi) y me cuesta mucho peinarla, que me recomensarias para mantenderla como la tuya? saludos

Catherine Bandola: Hi kristen... may i just ask, what are the products you put on your hair before you start to blow dry it and what are those for?

C Brownes: Loved this video! My hair always breaks when I blow-dry it. I'm hoping this will help. Which Chi brush do you use?

Jean Keats: I think your hair would come out great with a paddle brush just as well as a round one. I don't even use a round one anymore and mine comes out perfect. However, your video is great and your hair is lovely.

melissa vignone: Very helpful thank you! Just a quick question - the hair dryer you're using, is it at maximum heat or medium? I think my hair dryer only goes to really low & really high. Would you recommend really high heat? Thank you!

1funkychick: I basically have the same hair cut, but I just cannot blow dry my hair straight. I am going to try this this weekend.

Shirley Chan: Thanks for sharing this video! I tried and it works on me.

Elena Kocheva: your hair is beautiful and you're a pro with the blowdryer ^^ i am still trying to figure out how to straighten my hair with a blowdryer, i cant manage to make my hair stay on the brush, it just flies everywhere, it's really hard, maybe im doing something wrong :D  Btw your hair color is beautiful, r ur highlights made with a hat or with foil?

Enrica Garroni: Thank you. Great video. I'll try it this way. What temperature do you keep your hair dryer on? Doesn't it burn when you hold it so close to your scalp?

Baileigh Bryant: Your hair is so gorgeous... This video helped a lot. Thx sooo much for making this video!!! ~Baileigh~

Shivani: this video is awesome!!! :D it helped me alot... thanks a ton kristen u are pretty and u've got gorgeous hair!!!! thank you thank you soo much!!!

Sharmeen Atiq: See the problem here is that your hair is already straight and mine isn't

Sans M: Love your hair...Going to use your techniques, thanks! When you get your hair cut, what do you tell your stylist? I am having a hard time getting that cut you have.

It's Me Shelly: Is it ok if I blow dry every week? I just cut my hair short and I love them when styled. Would I damage my hear?
