Hi guys, it's me tea, pecan, tan Beauty and welcome to my channel. Where short, is it and excuse the hot mess? Look today, my eyebrows look: a hot mess, my hair look, a hot mess, I'm wearing a hot mess, but I just wanted to do this. Video to show you guys how I cut my hair, because I know I've been promising you for the last month or so that I was going to cut it and now I am officially going to cut it, because I am sick of this mullet that I'm growing Back here I mean it looks awful so today I'm going to show you how I trim my hair, I'm not going to go as short as I normally go with it, because I want to do it in stages. So I today I'm just going to trim the back down and I'm also going to kind of get rid of of all this hair here, that's hanging over the ear, so I am going to get rid of all of that, but still have it long enough where I can still do some flips if I wanted to so. The tools that we're going to use today is going to be just a regular clipper. This one is an andis master and I got this from Sally's. I think it was about $ 40, but you don't have to get professional grade clippers to do the job Clippers like this, do a wonderful job, and then we also going to use the andis neck trimmer and we're going to use this to kind of clean up Back here, a little bit and then clean up just around the ears a tad. So these are the two Clippers that we're going to use today and we're also going to use a few guards which go on top of the Clipper to control the length of the hair. So the first one we're going to use is going to be the number 4 or half inch guard and then we're also going to use the quarter guard and the 3/8 guard. So what we're going to do is first, I'm just going to calm it down, because I cannot believe how long my hair is. I it's been a long time since I had my hair this long, so alright, so oh wow! This is awful. So let's get started. What I'm going to do is we're going to start with the back and I'm just going to show you how I do it and it's going to be tough, showing you that how I cut the back, so I'm going to try to make it as clear as Possible image and show you as much of the haircut as I can you it is looking better already. We got rid of all of that here. Okay, so now we want to see. We still have this here that we want to get rid of. But let's just do the sides right now, then we'll go back and fix all of that. So with this on the sides, I actually want to go against the grain just just around the ear just to come and get all this hair off from around the ear. So let's go ahead and take care of that part next, okay, so what we want to do now is now that we have our sides and our back trimmed. I'M going to show you in my hair is, for so long has been long back here and flipping up and stuff, so it's kind of tough to get it to lay down right now, but I can totally totally - and I hope you can to tell the difference In the cut so now the hair is not as long in the back and on the sides. It'S not hanging over the ear anymore. We still have our sideburns here, which I want to keep those. So now what we're going to do is we're going to create our guide. So what we're going to do is we're going to start in the crown of the hair and here's our guide. So I want to cut off about an inch. So I'm going to start off with an inch okay and I'm going to switch combs start off with an inch there. We go so here's our guide. This is our guide. Okay. So then we just want to go work our way over and here's our guide right. There so we're going to cut that off and, like I've mention all of my videos, my face is round, so I need some height up top. So that's why I am NOT cutting it. That short and it's again there's our guide. You see our guide right here. So we just want to cut and then just meet the guide right there. Now we're just going to follow it all the way around. There'S our guide right here see our guide, and then we just want to cut all of that hair. That'S between the guide and we're just going to keep working your way around and see. There'S our guide again just keep working our way around our guy again, there is our guide guide. Your guide right there just going to work our way around their guide, we're going to work our way around until we get to the bottom. Okay, so then we're going to start with our guide and we're going to drag start dragging the hair up, see now you can see where we got more hair follow our guide. You can tell, will you miss some there's our guide? Okay? So when we're just going to follow our guide, all the way around Sall your guide, all the way around so now, let's just move this hair up to the front and then so you can tell see our guide is right here, that's our guide! So all this hair, we want to cut it anything that falls outside of that guide. We want to cut, see right there, okay, so the top part of our hair. We want to leave it longer and then just have the sides a little bit you, okay, so there we have it. So the back I'll have to finish up and, as you can see, I really didn't cut that much off, but I did get rid of the mullet back here in the back area and it lays a lot nicer. I still have some style to it. Um I took at a bit of the height off at the top of it, but I still have I still have some height so once I shampoo it and wrap it and get it all molded down. This here is going to look a lot better. It'S just right now my hair was just so used to being long and flipped out that it's it's taken on that shape, so I will be doing another style on just this finished product finished, look and just to show you how how it all came out so Anyway, you guys, I hope this video was helpful for you guys. I know it was a little all over the place, because I was trying to decide how I was going to record this video to be able to show you guys everything so again like I said I hope it was somewhat helpful and I hope that you would Be able to try this next time whenever you just need a quick, a quick trim so anyway, thank you guys for watching and have a great day and I'll see you next time. Bye, bye,

Mzcee73: I know that this is a old video but I have watched it about 20x and tonight I cut my own hair! It's not perfect but I did okay. I'm pleased. Thank you for putting in the time to show us how to do it ourselves!!!

Ms Kenya: Now that's what i call a tutorial!!! I learned a lot in these 17 minutes...thank you girl!!

Georgia Peach 2017: Coming from a stylist of 15 years you did VERY well with your own cut.....very detailed and the results QUITE nice.... I know stylist who couldn't do this on a client let alone themselves!!

La'Tresia Mae: I am actually at the point where I am growing my hair back, well at least the back of it. Was getting a little too expensive to go get my hair done every week, so I started doing my own hair. I already use Cantu products now because of you and I love it! But this will definitely help me in cutting my hair. Love your videos =]

Jaxxthagoddess: Great tutorial...simple and very well explained...I'm ready and confident now to trim my own hair.

Tracy Allen: I am about ready for my “pandemic pixie” I’ve been wanting to get my hair cut and since we’re still on COVID-19 lockdown, I can’t take it no more LOL! Thank you for this tutorial

Erika Ellacott: Thank you so much for your video. It has helped give me more confidence with my hair.  Today, I trimmed my bangs so they look choppy, and I took about an inch off the sides and point cut them to look softer...the back was the hardest, so thank you big time for your video!

ladyluvv25: Thank you so much for this video! You saved me! My stylist is always too busy and your tutorial was very easy to follow. Be blessed!

mycrowningglory: Thank you, thank you sooo much for sharing! You are such a sweet heart! I watched your videos and I relaxed and cut my hair MYSELF! I never would have thought that I could/would ever do it--but you explain things so well and make it look so easy that I gained confidence that I could do it. I used the products in your relaxer/cut vids with only a couple of exceptions. My haircut is soo cute! (Before it was like burnt straw due to lack of moisture). God Bless!

morgan lee: I've been cutting my own hair for years and your video helped me clean up my own technique. Thank you!!!

B Cas: Thanks! This worked out great for me. I haven't had short hair in years and it feels great.

Melody246ful: I am addicted to cutting my long hair and watching YouTube tutorials!!! You have the best one by far I absolutely adore it, how you explain and demonstrate and Ive watched several. Youre style is perfect for me and my face is round as well. Ive never used the clipper guard tho. So Im doing it now. Thanks!!!! Here we go!!!!

Kera Mccullough: Hello there, I have been practicing in my hair for about forty years. My problem has always been shape and around my ears. I used your techniques today and I am so pleased with my outcome!!! My ears still needs practice but overall I am truly happy!! Thank you, thank you!!

Mommy & Me_fitness: That was very helpful, your cut looks just like mine classy, and easy to maintain. My hair has grown out just as long as yours... I didn't know what to do with it because i have never did my own cutting or trimming but i have learned how to style it thanks to you ladies on youtube. So for now i just perm it and wear a bun, and now thanks to you i'm very inspired to try my own cut... thanks a lot, oh and you are a natural beauty I love ur complexion.

C Jones: I finally got the courage to do this and I am so happy I can't stop giggling. It came out beautifully even and professional looking. Thank you!

MsSassyMT: Absolutely love your simple instructions.

ThePecanTannedBeauty: I use to be a beautician loooooooong time ago but anyone can do this. It just takes patience and practice. It's a skill that anyone can master over time. :) Thanks for watching and commenting. :)

Barbi520: Thanks you so much for your video and for how gracious you are in explaining things to your viewers. I have hair very different from yours-ash blond, very very thick yet fine individual strands. Every hair cut I get is pretty much a disaster no matter what I pay. Every mistake shows and hair never lays correctly. Got a flowbee which has helped some. Then I watched your video and lifted my hair straight up as shown and cut using fingers as a guide. For once, I can feel proud about my hair. Everything fell into place and lays beautifully. I have beautiful thick hair and the horrible drooping bulk is gone. I really can't thank you enough.

Andeisha Carbon: all of us short haired ladies always obsess over how long its gotten! Glad to see i'm in good company. I can't stop calling my hair a "mullet" now! great video!

Jaye Moore: I really enjoy your videos. I followed your instructions to the letter and my hair cut looked like I went to a salon. My husband and friends were impressed. Thanks Again, and looking forward to your next video.

Veronica Cole: Your hair looks so healthy and beautiful and I love the way you cut it!!!Kudos to you

Toya: I love this video, it reminds me of how I use to cut my hair but now my hair is long. you are so right when you say no matter how you comb it it should be even bc that's a sign of a really good haircut. yep I've been saying that for years bc I saw a lot of crappy haircuts. Anywho, you rock girl and love your hair. :)

Ellie Nalivaiko: Thank you SO much!!! I have the exact same mullet-y thing going on right now. You're absolutely adorable!

Char Williams: After waiting so long to decide what to do with my hair, I know cutting it is the answer. I am so glad that I checked here before I did it. You are very easy to learn from and I thank you for helping me.

JaJa: Your hair is the same length as mines. I can't wait to cut it tonight! Thank you beautiful ❤

Julie Joyner: You have amazing hair - looks incredibly healthy!! Thank you for sharing!

Linderia Davis: Thank you, thank you and thank you again. I needed this video badly and I kept searching. My mom has a round face and I needed to help her achieve a cute cut and style. Thank you so much. We're doing this tonight!!! YAY!!

Mrskymck: Thanks! Your video gave me the push I needed to cut my hair on my own. I've been contemplating this act for weeks. It's a done deal...Tonight!

SHARON KANE: Good Morning. I want to thank you for this video. i have never in 50 years cut my hair. My hair has fallen out since i am chronically ill and the hair dresser destroyed it so bad last week. i found your video and did what i could. i am very happy with it now...I just want to thank you so very much. I haven't used the clippers yet but i tapered best i could. i really appreciate you. Have a wonderful day.

Ionia: You did an amazing job I wish I wouldve seen this video before cutting my hair again I couldve done it on my own Great job :)

Isa Reed: thank you so much for the video. I cut my hair just like u said and it came out amazing. I'm in love. I already had a pixie cut I just needed to refresh it. Thank you so much!!!!

Kimberly Smith: I know this is an older video, however, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! With this pandemic and my hairdresser not able to work at the moment, my "pixie turned mullet" needed to GO! I started with an undercut first and then realized that the back and sides were still way to long and mushroom like. I have great hairdressing scissors but not idea how to use them. I am going to try this today, and I'll let you know how it works out! :)

Jennifer Buchanan: Thank you so much for this tutorial, I have a new confidence now that I can completely maintain my hair cut:-)

Vicki W: Thank you for this video. I do my granddaughter's hair and this video showed me how to achieve the short cut that she likes.  You are a great instructor. I appreciate your help. Your hair looks great.

Markedalove: I just watched all your videos and I love them. I am short as well and I love it a lot. It's almost a year since I cut my hair. There isn't a lot of videos on here with people who cut their hair and keep it cut. I think you are about the only one, and I am glad I found you. Keep making those videos because I love them!

maria igartua: Oomg you did a great job, that hair is so healthy and shiny. You go girl!!

sharon aruglia getting healthy: Thank you so much, very helpful vid for ladies like myself who are learning how to clipper the nape!

Isabella Giraud: Thank you!!! Very well explained and it came out really nice. You're very pretty! Blessings!

ThePecanTannedBeauty: Thank you Georgann!!! Glad the video was helpful. :) Yes, definitely a money saver. Thank you for watching and commenting.

MissMMoskowitz: I'm so impressed! you did an excellent job!!

Tasha Shiehzadeh: Hi friend! Thanks for this video! It was very clear and helped me cut my hair for those in between times!

Robyn Tattersall: You have done a fabulous job explaining this ... it is really very helpful x

C Jones: Thank you so much. You solved my problem. All the professional you tube videos were no help. I needed to see how to use my clippers, do a simple cleanup and not leave a bald spot. The mullet is my concern and it came out just how I am wanting it to. Great video.

sheep's wool: I have followed your instructions and have had great success.  Thank you for taking the time to post this.  God Bless you.

Trendy Gillies: You did great.  I would let you cut my hair any day.  I always did the front by myself and go to the hairdresser for shaping the back.  I came here to see videos on using the clippers for the back.  I want to try it myself.  Now I will go buy myself a shear.  I have missed wearing my hair short.  Tired of wigs and extensions for two years now.  Thanks for a great video.

Fadhima Lovett: Such a helpful vid!!! I do pretty well with weaves at home, but I'm wanting to start cutting/styling my own short hair, and the sides and back can be a bit difficult to cut and maintain. Thanks!! What products do you use to maintain your hair?

creativecompanion: This is so helpful! Thank you!!!!

ThePecanTannedBeauty: Thank you Mary... It's tough at first but gets easier with practice. :)

Suzanne Thompson: Thank you! Thank you! a great tutorial! You are so generous to put this on YouTube.I have watched this several times & cut the top, I am going to clean up the back & sides.

hovawart16: I have noticed that women are always apologizing for everything. They apologize for their looks. They apologize if they get paint on their fingers while they are painting. They apologize for things that happen that have nothing to do with them. I think we all need to quit apologizing for EVERYTHING except when we hurt somebody. OK, now that's off my chest, thanks for the video!

Ahkia Wade: I'm 14, and my hair just started growing healthy and strong. But I was really considering getting my hair cut in a short style, similar to this one. Do you recommend it? That was a Beautiful hairstyle, btw.. !

ThePecanTannedBeauty: Hi there and thank you... I'm not sure my advice is going to help but thinning hair could be caused by several things (i.e. - hereditary, damage from not deep conditioning and moisturizing, heat damage). And... there is always hope. We can make our hair look good even if we only had 1 strand. :) Good luck and thank you for watching and commenting.

SomnusPhobos: This is one of the best tutorials that I've seen. Also, I wish I could say I was a hot mess and look as great as you do.

Jay Rose: Great video and an inspiration to cut my own hair.  Keep up the good work!

delphine bie: when i saw this video i finally decided to cut my hair for the first time. i really do love your hair and ur videos too. keep the good work.

Toya Caldwell: Well I just did the cut. Super easy....thanks goodness to the little bit of cosmetology training I do have...your instruction brought back a lot to my memory...

Debbie Stoughton: I've watch a lot of videos on cutting hair short, but your instruction is the most step by step and it's very easy to understand and remember. I save a lot of money by cutting my hair myself. I want to thank you very much for your wonderful video. God bless, Deb

ThePecanTannedBeauty: Hi Ayia... Thank you! I use a cheap relaxer. LOL... African Pride but its what I found works for me. I sometimes switch between Optimum Care. That's one I find works for me as well. Thanks for watching and commenting. :)

Melissa James: This video was so helpful I did mines last night I love it thanks a lot for your vid. ;(

Rachan Bishop: Thanks for explaining and showing me how to scissor cut my hair following the guide at the shortest point.

Anissha Blackwell: You did that! What a great job.

Oyin: Hi, I love your videos! I wanted to ask how you keep your hair hydrated without flattening the style. Do you moisturise and seal daily? I feel like coconut oil only gives me a shine. The back and sides of my hair often feel and look quiet crispy :(. I've had short hair a little over a year and find I'm constantly struggling with this. I did a protein treatment but still feel as though its still very unhealthy.

Jay Rigsby: Thank you...my shortness turned out great! More than great!

exclaimationmarkable: Amazing video! the best cut I have ever seen someone give themselves. You make me want to cut my hair soooo much...

Joclyn lastname: I need this video. My hair is getting too hard to manage for the style that I have. Thank you so much. :)

georgann white: This was beyond helpful...I managed to trim my megan good to a pixie that im am beyond happy with...no more wasting money at a salon

C & A. R: Not only are you totaly freekin gorgeous but I loved you hair before you cut it and after! I wish I could look that good with short hair. Enjoyed your vid as it inspires me to reallllly want to try it myself lol

NY FINEST: Thanks so much for sharing this was so helpful to me.

Bonny Cole: You are not a hot mess, you are just too cute. I love ur videos. I follow you step by step as you cut and it's very easy to follow and I don't have black hair. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It's very easy to follow and is saving me bunches of moolah!!! Thx again and see u in ur next video.

Mrskymck: I did it! It turned out better than expected. I started cutting and then I got scared hehe...but I had to keep going. I am proud of myself for finally going thru with it and now I'm hooked. Thanks so much!

Liz Andrews: Thank you for posting this. I'm about to try & cut my hair for the first time with clippers. My hair is about the same length of yours but I want it shorter too. I'm so scared. I hope I don't mess it up.

Monique R: I loved your video! I used it to cut off 8 inches of hairl last night!!

voss297: You don't look a hot mess. Stop saying that. You look gorgeous!

Jacqueline S: Absolutely love it!

Kay Burnett: Absolutely love your video! I cut my Hair myself but your video have given me great tips. First video have watched properly.

Tonya Janowski: I love this video and your hair style. I plan to relax my hair and cut it along with your video. I also have a round face and need to cut my hair similar to yours. Thank you for making this video and sharing your style.

Kay James: I got my hair heat trained and its growing back finally but now the split ends are starting to come and I had no idea how to trim it up but thanks for the vid. But here my question how often do I trim it up and do i trim before washes and perms or afterward ?

Kristin Davis: this was so helpful! especially when funds are short and you cant make the salon! lol

Blessed and highly favored: This an awesome job. I would need some practice to learn how to do this. I got a pixie 3 weeks ago and stylist did not cut my hair according to the pic I showed her. I have a round face too and she cut my bangs super short so I kind of have to finger style it for some height on top. I can't wait for it to grow out like yours. How often do you relax?

Ashley Arbuckle: You look great naturally!

Ashia Ringo: I've been looking for 2 days for a video like this!! Thank you

Linda Hazzard: thank you for the video, I've been looking for instructions like this for 3 years. You are so poised, I wish you were my neighbor. I have a round face and your tip on keeping the top of the head full, (adding height) was a great tip. I already have the supplies, now I need the courage, I subscribed, so I'll let you know if and when I take the plunge. I'm looking for the follow up video so that I can follow step by step. Thanks again.

beverlyfrese: Thank you so much. I now have the confidence to cut my own hair :-)

Diamondsmile: you did great, my hair looks exactly as yours before the cut. gonna put my husband's machine to work now.. let's see what happens.. thank you

Kurtrell Williams: Glad I found your channel! I have a weird spot like that too in the back of my head. When I cut it down, it looks thinner.... But I make it work :)

Haydee Simmons: You really help me a lot. I need to get a trim in the back only and now I don't need to pay 40.00 for it. Thanks!

Melinda Lowery: you did a wonderful job i just love it

ashley daniels: My hair is so hard to keep moisture in especially after having my baby, what is something I could try, and your hair is beautiful Hun!

WonderfullyOdd: Thanks! I think I will, because it's definitely something I want to do. I'll keep watching for that vid! Thanks again. :)

No Name: I wanted to tell you I clipper cut my sides by watching your video and I love it thank you.

Joanne Fleming: I really like this video. I have short hair. I want to cut my hair myself, but I am a bit scared that I will mess up. So I will just keep watching this video and your technique. One day I will become brave enough to do it myself. LOl

LADY B: Very helpful!

Kade Sumritpradit: Great tutorial ever!! Now I wanna cut my own hair!! (My last 2 salon visits was very disappointed)

Phoenix Cocodiva: Thanks for sharing. You did a great job. Quick question or two: On the back was the a 1/2 guard and did you use the same guard for the sides?

Lisette Lindo: Awesome video - you have inspired me to cut my own hair - well trim the back and sides anyway:-). I know you used the 1/2" Guard on the back but did you switch up and use a different guard on the sides (around the ear)?

Anatomy1958: Thank you so much!  You are a blessing to me and may God bless you above and beyond!

DAISY DE ROJAS: Thanks I loved the cutting way !
