With my hair being shorter than before, I am able to explore and share with you an array of styling options catered towards shorter, natural hair. I am excited to share with you a way to make your curls POP! This technique is very similar to my "Define Your Curls" tutorial, but the difference is the more laid back approach of the shingling, which doesn't require as much persision and shrinkage is our friend! Enjoy the tutorial and leave you POSITIVE feedback...Its much appreciated. :) DONT FORGET TO THUMBS UP AND SUBSCRIBE!

If you're looking for a way to define and elongate your sharp natural hair continue to watch this tutorial on how to make your curls pop the products I'll be using, are shea moisture, jamaican black, castor oil, even olive oil, eco styler water, a Denman brush and some Clips, let's get started, my hair has just been washed. You definitely want to start this process off with clean hair, I'm going to start by sectioning off my hair into smaller sections for even product distribution. With my hair Clips out of the way, I first begin to apply the leave-in with my hands by using a combing motion. I will then begin to apply the gel and take random, curls and smooth them out curl by curl. In no particular pattern make sure your hair is wet and detangled when doing this, or else your hair will come out frizzy and less defined, I'm taking my Denman brush and brushing each section of hair before I begin to apply the gel. By doing this, you're already beginning to define your curls, this is similar to my shingling video, but I want to show you how different the technique and results are on shorter hair. The shrinkage definitely plays a major role in this tutorial. When you get to the front decide whether or not you want to do a part and lay the hair in the direction you want it to fall. So this is the result of defining my curls curl by curl. As you can see, the shrinkage is real and it is definitely here to stay, but we'll fix that in a moment. So after sitting under the dryer for about 30 or 45 minutes, my hair is pretty much dry. I did use bobby pins to define my part now, I'm taking a silicone base serum and separating the curls that are too clumps using my blow-dryer on medium to high heat. I will randomly stretch my hair into its desired shape. Here I want to taper, looks on focusing on stretching the front longer than the back. This is where shrinkage is actually your best friend you get to mold your hair, however you'd like it to fall after applying heat to each section, hold it out for a little while, so it can keep its new shape. So remember that silicone serum we used well. It'S actually protecting my hair from any possible heat damage. Lastly, we'll use a pic for more volume. Then voila, your shrunken little TWA is now defined and refined with curls popping and on shine that was corny Ashley. I can't help it y'all, so I hope you enjoyed this tutorial if you did go ahead and give it a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe thanks for watching guys, see you in the next video
