Welcome back my lovelies!

Today, we put the InStyler Max 2 to the test: straightening and curling my hair.

If you have tried it, do you love it or hate it?

I added the footage comparing the rotating barrel to a regular curling iron barrel that I did the next day. Just to make sure I gave this product a fair chance.

What are products would you love to see put to the test?

XO,

Milabu

Hi, and welcome to my channel! I am a Beauty Addict and love to create how-to beauty tutorials for short hair and hairstyles, makeup, and lifestyle in general. I try to make my videos informative, creative and most importantly entertaining. Sometimes it may be dry humor. I warned you.

I love interacting with my viewers. Let's get to know each other.

Love, Milabu

So today's video is going to be testing out a new product for my hair new, for me we're doing that in styler. You guys have asked to see this countless times and I'm finally doing it but be mallanna. I got the wrong size curler. I wanted to get the 3/4 inch, which is a new one for them. I got 1.25 inches, so there's gon na be a big curl, but I'm excited to test it out anyways. So this bad boy, retails for $ 99.99, so pretty much a little bit over $ 100 and I think it's a really cool product. It'S rated really good. I don't know how it's gon na do good. For my hair, I read mixed reviews regarding the straightening process. It doesn't straighten as good as a curls straightens better than a flatiron. I doubt it but we'll see by the way. Do you guys, like my shirt, but I do like the black and the and the? What is this? Like, copper, color? Alright, let's turn the bond. I'M excited to test it out, I'm gon na set it on the third heat setting. I don't want it to be too hot. So, as you can see, this is a rotating instyler. I guess that's the cool thing about it. So I've tried multiple rotating heat tools and I don't like that. You have to double click, to change your direction and you can't control the speed. I don't like that at all. Alright, so I'm going to split my hair right down the middle one side, I'm going to shrine and the other side I'm going to curl and let's start with some heat protectant, I'm gon na give you guys two options, this one's really great, it's not too expensive. It'S 1699 by kenra. This is the thermal, a styling spray, and then I have the Tresemme the heat tamer. This one is only for 399, so I like both of them this one more than this one, just because this one doesn't dry out my hair as much as a Tresemme, I'm just gon na split each section into two sections, just because I have layers. So I want to make sure all of the hair gets beloved and I'm just gon na start straightening, my hair, I guess, try it okay, what did it curl it? Do you guys see that look at that? What do you? Why look how frizzy like weird it made? My hair looks like you go. I don't know why. But that does not look good all right, so it's definitely not better than a straightener just because I have to put more force to drag it down just because it's rotating and there's a brush bristles ionic bristles attached. So it's kind of working against me in a way for straightening. I don't like this see what I mean it's a pulling out my hair. Let'S try to move this even slower, as they recommend you guys see that you feel like it, I'm just pulling on it. I don't like this thing: it's just my hair, no baby. I straightened and just my natural hair, I've got another contender. Well, it's better uh-huh! This pick it up. That'S better! It is straighter all natural, but serious. Did you guys see that it'll literally creased in the crinkled it that looks so bad now? Let me show you just for fun what a real flat iron can do to your hair. Oh so pretty or you know what else you could do with this straightener, what what is that it's a curl, you guys I'm just being way too sarcastic, now straightens better than a flat iron? No, no! It doesn't. I promise you that it doesn't alright. Let'S try to curl this okay, so I double clicked to make sure the rotation is going away from the face. Let'S see if that's even right, if I did that correctly - oh my gosh, I can't even twist any because I'm like you can't hold this, so I can't twist it like a flat iron so obviously, and that was a fail trying to curl my hair as I Would with a flat iron, so now I'm gon na actually take the hair and wrap it around the barrel, as you would or regular a curling iron. I should get a curl because we are going around the barrel, so the rotating is going away from the face. So it says to make sure the barrel is pointing down like towards yourself and then press it down. Alright, that's literally frying, my hair. I do get a beautiful curl look at that, but my ends are fried all right. I want to do another one because the curl is really pretty so obviously you get gorgeous curls, but that's no surprise, because that's exactly what we do with the regular curling iron, but once the rotation starts. This is why I don't recommend this product. It'S physics, 101. Once the hair is around the barrel and it starts rotating you're compressing and pulling your hair at the same exact time once you clamp it, that's an extra compressive force on top of your rotating barrel. In all honesty, I think this might work for those that have curly coarse hair, just because curly hair needs more tension, just to kind of pull it apart to get into all the crevices and then coarse hair is obviously thicker, so it can handle a little bit More than fine thin hair use it at your own risk. That'S what I would say, but for me personally it burned my hair. I am NOT a happy consumer. So therefore, I cannot recommend this product. In theory, this sounded great because I went and actually bought it with my own money bet my time practicing and trying this out, but in reality and practice it was a complete failure. I need this video on a positive note. We came out with two t-shirt designs, simple, yet elegant and hello. My lovelies! This was a runner-up for what you guys chose for the third t-shirt design. So we decided to make a fourth one. Why not so they're both can be available in a white v-neck and a white crew neck as you guys liked the options when I asked, which one you guys prefer it's kind of like 50/50, so yeah pick which one you guys want to get it's available now On Miller boutique, oh, let me know what you guys think and of course, let me know which other products you guys want me to test out. I'M always up for that, but for now thank you for watching and I'll see you guys next time. I love you all very much. Thank you.

Carolina Rodriguez: That frizz you got happens because its probably rotating the opposite way. I just bought one last week at TJ Maxx for $39.99 and I LOVE it!

JTranCreates: I love the InStyler and I have thick course curl hair. It straightens nicely and curly beautifully! I have been an InStyler girl for years and years!

Monica Diaz: The instyler is the only tool that I use to style my hair. It actually works great, but it takes practice. In order to curl it you need to hold it at an angle and gently slide it down. I think you need to try it a few more times.

Shawna Serio: I've been using the InStyler for years and I can tell you it is way better than a flat iron and way better for your hair. You are using it wrong. You are bringing it down the hair way too fast. You need to turn your wrist down as you move down. When used correctly, it straightens, adds volume, smooths, and adds a ton of shine.

Cindy Snow: For me it works pretty good for curling under or flipping the ends. Does not straighten like a flat iron. Gives more bouncy results. Probably best for thicker coarser hair.

The MetatronGirl: I'm sorry it didn't work for you. I LOVE my original instyler! I have extremely thick and hard to straighten wavy hair. I always make certain the barrel is rotating toward the ends of my hair while straightening, and the same direction as my curl when curling. I achieve far better results than I ever have with a flat iron. After watching this, though, I would hesitate to buy the "improved" version.

Amy Brown: Hi Milabu! I've been using my Instyler for several years and love it but it does take a little practice. I think you might be squeezing the device a bit too hard. All you need to do is gently clasp the device and let it glide through your hair. I have very coarse hair and it works perfectly for curls and to straighten.

LeeAnna Shepherd: I have fine thin hair and the instyler works better for me than a flat iron! It gives it volume and it's the ONLY thing that has ever taken pony tail creases out if my hair! It's exciting to be able to style my hair after having a ponytail with washing it lol

Gina Dawson: I got the in styler when it first came out years ago and it did the same thing to my hair that it did to yours on the first pass. It made it super frizzy and felt like it was fried!

Saya AT: Milabu !!! Try this again. I use this all the time for curls and I LOVE IT !! instead of wrapping your hair around the barrel and holding it .. - clasp your hair in it with the brush part on the bottom then turn away from your face while pulling your hair through... when you tried it you had the brush part on top ... thats why it didnt work !

Atanasia MANDRU: Rowenta rotating brush active is a very good product for both straightening and curling your hair... the straightening part is more like a blow-out, but waaaaay easier to do on your own. How about giving it a try?

Truly Life: It works for me way better than curl iron. I have thick and curly hair. I use the barrel on top and the brush down for smooth hair results

blanca fabian: I been using this since it first came out. I love it. The only tool I use for my hair.

Whitney Sanders: I love my instyler. For curls I clamp it at the top and do like a twist curl like I would do with a flat iron they turn our great.

Figgie Jammer: Thank you for the review. I don't use heat very often, so your review made up my mind that this tool is a no go for me! I'll stick with a good flat iron when I need it.

alyssalreed6: In order for it to curl, you have to curl it around the barrel. To straighten your hair, it takes several passes to get it completely straight, but the barrel has to be going on the direction the hair is growing. Which is down of course. I use to have one.

Alisha Nagpal: Really nice, I saw your previous video and this one as well. And I absolutely love how you took the comments in your considerations and changed the video enough to incorporate that! You also came upon on a well informed decision. I also like how fun you make it seem(all the videos, I mean). Thanks for sharing~ Look forward to more.

Carolyn Walker: I think you may have to go through your hair a couple times to get the straight look. I love my instyler and it works well but does take some practice!

Leeza_ 337: Love your videos...your honest feedback on products is so helpful and very much appreciated!

krissia campos: It does actually work, but it's necessary to hold the In Styler properly (depending on the hairstyle you are looking for). I had the same struggle when I started to use it, but with some practice you can get beautiful hairstyles

Unique by Design: I have very thick curly hair and it actually works better than a straightener. I don't know why but it really does! I have to take it very slowly down my hair. It does the same to my sisters hair as it did yours, so I am not sure why it makes my hair like silk. Thanks for being so honest. Great video And absolutely love that shirt

Jena Comstock: Try the Beach Waver! You do not have to double click to change directions, and there are two different speeds you can rotate it. I absolutely love the beach waver!

NOTASCOOLASME: I have actually used the Instyler before on my own hair, and it works perfectly to straighten out my curls! But, I believe if your hair is already somewhat straight, it doesn't give the same result. Which is kind of sad, I don't know why it does that!

Kylie Gonzalez: I wish I had seen this before I had bought mine. And my hair is like twice as thick as Milana's, so I didn't get good straightening or curling. inStyler's hot round brush didn't do much better. I finally got a rather pricey straightener and that works sooo much better.

Anonymous: I LOVED it when I had long hair, I've had the same one for over 5 years. I've never gotten it to curl. On short or long hair.

Amy Rodriguez: My mom has one of these and it works great you have to pass your hair a couple of times

Lillie Arizona: Girl, I tossed my in styler because it fried my hair, and I'd needed a haircut because of it. It's horrible for fine, thin hair. I could have told you that.

Hailey Crowe: I have one of these and I really like the one I have. I have fine, short hair as well. For me it does a great job of giving my hair volume. if you start at the base of your root and pull up and out instead of just down. Also the reason it probably fried your hair is probably because you had it on the highest heat setting, which was probably too hot. ( I know that usually is on mine) I personally Love my instyler, also I use it to give my hair great shape when it's just wanting to be flat and do nothing. I recommend trying it again and playing around with it ( on the low heat setting of corse ) but play with it again, look at some actual demonstrations and tutorials because it is a lot of fun. I also have the original, which may make a difference with the amount of damage to your hair, idk though. p.s I love your channel BTW!!!

Alexandra Cordero: Love the t-shirt designs!!! Thanks Milabu. ❤

VioletVelvet6: I actually love the instyler but... Mi hair is naturally curly and got a lot of frizz; it makes magic with it! I swear, but its true is not as good as a flat iron I just love how it tames my hair without stealling all of its texture

Elizabeth Gutierrez: I had the original one. it straightened my hair soooooo much better than my chi flat iron. when it finally broke after 6 years i just stopped straightening

Tracie Curtis: I rate my instyler better than the ghds I had. Instyler is so quick and doesn't fry my hair, it actually makes it soft and smooth. I'm in new Zealand, so maybe ours are different here. I love mine. When it dies I'll definitely get another.

Joe A.: I had the original one. I use it mostly for getting volume and very slight " blow out" look. Flat irons can make my hair look too flat. You have to kind of curl it " around" like Alyssareed said. But maybe its better for thicker hair types.I enjoy watching your styling videos.

Annie W: Not only does it fry your hair it is also scarily easy to burn yourself - I managed to burn my forehead when straightening my fringe ( or bangs as you say in US) It really is a health hazard. AVOID!!

Miss Brown: I love that thing. I’ve never straightened it though lol

Saskia2088: I love your videos! Could you maybe review the Beach Waver? That would be so great!

Tawnya Mitchell: I loved it. Worked grewt for my thin curly hair.

Adina Grenfell: Have you ever used a Tyme curler? I would love to see a review on this one.

Angela Sousley: Sorry this was such a bust lol. I would love for you to try the hair brush straightener. Wonder if it's good for thinner hair. Thanks for such great videos!! You're the best ❤️

The Glam Philosopher: You give such honest reviews Milana! That's why I love your channel. And also you become a little extra sarcastic.... Well I can totally connect because I become sarcastic myself sometimes!!

Katie Davis: Thank you for trying this out! I’ve been thinking about getting one but not anymore.

Mary Mancera: if it made that piece of hair look like that, its because maybe the barrel was going the wrong way... it's not because the Instyler doesn't work.

Gina Ann: My flat iron makes better curls than that thing. I use the ion anti frizz solution straightener from Sally's. I've had it for 10 years, it was $100. I've dropped it in my toliet a few times (it wasn't plugged in lol ) and it still works just as brand new haha. Absolutely love it. I don't think Sally's sales that brand anymore, idk if they even make the same brand but if they do, definitely invest in it. It's the 1st generation. It isn't digital. The newer one is and it works about the same. Goes up to 450° This is what I have here if anyone's interested https://us.letgo.com/en/i/ion-anti-frizz-hair-straightener_57be11d1-31d8-474a-bf94-4e7debfa2f58

Diana Coburn: I used the first instyler and it seemed to cause breakage and damage! (I had long blonde fine hair at the time) Its easier to just use a curling or flat iron.

E Triplett: Why does she inspire me to do my hair?

Cynthia Gonzalez: Hi Milana, I love your videos !! Can you please review/demo the Bed Head a wave we go and the deep waver??? Thanx your the best

Princessa Leya: Thank you for honest review! You saved my money))

fAN fAN: Just got mine today an love it!!!!

longtimestuklat: It looks to me like your hair is either really damaged or the product you are using is too tacky and making the Instyler catch on your hair. Make sure after you put the product in, you comb through the section you are doing because if it's not completely detangled, it's going to catch like it was doing on yours. If you can't comb through it with ease, then the Instyler can't either.

CrazyDiamond: LOVE YOU SHIRT! I'm wearing my Milabu right now!!

kayekog: It really did fry that section of hair. Take that sucker back and get a refund. I used that same Kenra product for the first time today. It was hard to tell how well it worked because the weather was so humid and rainy. My hair looked good before I left the house!

Ellen Leota: I completely thought you were flipping off the instyler in the thumbnail!! Thank you for this review.

Chloe De La Rosa: I have the same one it doesn’t work on my tips but it completely straightens my sister and moms hair but I have layers and they don’t so I’m guessing that might make a difference

daisyjilli: To straighten your hair, you need to turn it the other way.. at least that's how I did it. The way you were holding it is for straightening or curling the ends of your hair towards your face.

JillJ W: Everytime my boyfriend sees your face he's like: oh it's Section girl! So not Super girl but Section Girl hihi <3 Loved this vid! xo

Carolina L.R.: I used to have it... it worked like a charm... until it fell and broke and didn't want to spend another 100+ dlls on a new one.

Sunny Y: I feel like i saw this yesterday lol Anyhoo, I was wondering what’s your go flatiron? or what’s the one you used at the end?

Janessa: What flat iron did you use in that one clip?

MrsLoretta: I have been wondering if this would work on my every so curly hair...xoxox Loretta

Elizabeth Culpepper: You should try the paddle brush straightener.

Aarti Jaswa: It fried my hair too. And the fried part took a whole year to grow out and it was dreadful

Lois Sawinski: That was my reaction as well. I returned it and kept the cash.

Dnora Canales: I had a hard time too but once I found out to do it the right way.. will not go back to the old flat iron

CAT G.Blondecat: gosh, this brings me back Ive got an old original orange one somewhere in this small home. No idea where. Didnt like it. My hair is way too thin and fine [but lots of it]

Phalanx Video: Great review!

Francesca Murray: INSTYLER: BODY AND VOLUME WITH FINE HAIR look up that video and you will see how to use it better ..that's the video that taught me the best for volume too xx

Grace Harker: Looks cool! X

Teresa Haven: If you're spending your own money I would always be sure to buy using Amazon prime or getting it at Costco, lol. 100% refundable

Amanda Vanlannen: HEY GIRLY SO LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!! , KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO YOUR SO HELPFUL AND BEAUTIFUL OF COURSE LOL !!! JUST WONDERING IF YOU CAN YOU PLEASE DO A VIDEO FOR THE TOPSTYLER ? PLEASE!!! PLEASE!!! ITS THESE LITTLE SEA SHELL CLIPS YOU PUT IN YOUR HAIR TO CURL YOUR HAIR IN 15 MINS CAN YOU SHOW ME WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT IT IN A REVIEW.... THANKS LOVE

Chiquita: Well, I've read a few comments down below and seriously, this Instyler is like the Tyme one... For me... NOT..! If it works for some people here, great, but to me I like to buy products to make easier my life, not to complicate it. If I buy something and need a frickin' tutorial to understand how it works and still can't do it, why should I get it in the first place?? Nope!!

Justine D'Amour-Savoie: Hahahaha love your reactions!

Lisa Weese: I have the In Styler and love it. You are holding it too tight. Just practice a little bit. I'm sure you needed to practice when you first used a curling iron or straigtener.

Juliana Dániel Ferreira: Hey! Love your videos. I'm thinking about getting a Mason Pearson hairbrush. Could you do a review on it to test if all they say is real?

BekieSkye: You should try the L'Oréal steampod !!!!!!

Vidal Barrera: I have one, super old and I really like it. After year of having it finally learn how to curl my hair, yes I never do my hair that is way it took me so long . And Yes is doing weird thing to your hair No good..

Ely Barron: Could you do a video testing out all of the it's a ten for at lest like a week or two and see if it really dose work????

Tiffany Yingling: I LOVE THE NEW SHIRT!

Scarlett Hoppen: Hi, please could you test the Tyme Iron?

Diane Dureau: thank you, great review!

Arin Rohrbach: What is the brand of your flat iron. It looks amazing!

Hannah Christelle: Can you review the hairbrush straightener thats been floating around Instagram and Twitter?

izamalaca: You don’t know how to use it! That is awesome product! I love it!

Teresa Haven: I'm definitely subscribing!!!

Grace Reasoner: That thing is such a gimmick. The InStyler is crap! I had one in high school and it always fried my ends and ruined my curl formation when I washed and styled my natural curls bc it would be so frizzy

Brooke Davidson: What straightener did you use

Kiara Cabrera: Please review the instyler  PRIME Blowout Revolving Styler

Megan Wellman: What straightener did you use in the sarcastic part?

Ashley Stauffacher: Ok you legit started using this product of course you’ll have some problems then you bring out your handy dandy straightener and you know how to use your straightener better than the instyler and don’t say “ughhh I hate this thing!” Why did you buy it in the first place!

Deanna Simpson: Hi I have that same problem it use to fry my hair never straighten it my hair looked better before i used it mine has been sitting there under the sink collecting dust for many years now i will never use it again.

PsychedForLife: It sounds like a paper shredder and unfortunately it looks like it did start to shred some of the hair.

Joe A.: PS you might get better results trying to flip out your ends with this like the 60s flip style.

CEE: I used one of those and I have naturally straight hair and it sucks. It’s easier to use a regular curly iron and a straightener

Sandra Nodine: I have a instyler and i do lime it. But my hair is curly and corse amd it does straighten and curl my hair good.

HaydeecantaDios.: Hi.. that thin imagine mine is so thick lol.. thanks great review.

Jeana Marie: Yayyyyyyyyyyyy! Love the shirt!!!!!!!!

Dr. Anagha Shete: Love your vids....❤❤❤

Maddison Moliga: You obviously used it wrong.

Dema Ayman: I like it❤

Lindsey Elizabeth: I so agree and wouldn't recommend and it makes my hair frizzy when straightening and i dont have frizzy hair and the curls dont last

Anonymous: You're going too fast and too hard. It should just glide like a flat iron. It always smoothes and shines my hair. Maybe it's for wavy and curly hair, not already straight hair.
