natural hair grwm wash day how to natural hairstyles

Alright, hey you guys, so I'm jumping right into this video, so my hair has already been washed deep conditioned blown out. I will put the previous video that link in the description box for you, so I do have two baby blues flat irons. I'M gon na use this one right here because I can get closer to the roots and I'm just gon na apply some paper tucked in all over my head and then I'm gon na show you guys the product that I think made my hair. This shiny this straight and it is this design essentials liquid shine. Oh, my goodness, I did use this on my blowout, but I think I prefer it so much more on like when I'm flat ironing my hair along with this brush that are also used on my blowout as well. So I'm just gon na use the chase method and before you guys freak out this is just the product. My hair is not burning. I promise you. I am blow-drying on blow drying, I'm flat ironing on 400 degrees, which is what I always do. It is from the product, so I just went on ahead and just kept doing the chase method all throughout my hair. I do want to point out that I did take my hot comb. I will list that. Well, everything will be in my Amazon store as always, but I did just go through my roots kind of like not two smaller sections, but I did kind of hit those before I flatiron with which made this process so much easier to me. This design, essential spray gave me so much shine. You guys look at it and gave me so much life combined with this brush, so this process did not take me long as far as flat ironing, because I only had to do one pass for every single section. I did not have to go over anything which was like it just saved me so much time and if you are new to my channel or if you just don't know, I don't really straighten my hair. Often I do it about twice a year. I think that's kind of what I've a ver egde the past couple years, so the last time that I straightened my hair actually flat ironed. It was octo and y'all. I am not afraid of heat. I am NOT one of you know those naturals, I hate to say that, but I'm not I'm not afraid of heat. I just don't flat iron. My hair out of pure laziness, that's pretty much it so yeah. You guys. I don't know the last time my hair has been this straight in this shiny, but I was really really loving it. I just look at it. It'S got. Bounce has got movement to it. I do need my ends, cut pretty bad. However, I just like this today. This flat iron session - I just could not get it together. You guys will see just a small clip in the end I know I said I was going to show that on camera, but I just couldn't like get get the get it going to. You know actually cut my hair, which I always do after I straighten it, and I know I've been saying this for like two years now, probably three that I need to find a stylist to go to to you know just have and to get my hair cut, But y'all y'all just don't know, I just don't trust people. I just don't trust them, and I actually just found two here in Houston that I'm like really wanting to try to give me a blunt cut and that's another reason why I just didn't go in and like really cut my hair, because I actually want a haircut. I don't want to trim, I want to actually bring it up, cut some inches off and my hair naturally grows in layers. If your hair just naturally grows in layers - and you understand, look the frustration and how hard it can be to really like cut your hair and make sure you're not always cutting off too much, because that's kind of what I feel like I have been doing so, Where the arrow is is where I need to cut for sure add I just could not do it today, but I actually want to bring it up to my shoulders. If you guys can see like that's, um, look happy and some inches off, so I think I'm ready for that. So, yes, I'm just gon na finish flat. Ironing my hair really was just trying to get you guys to see. My hair is 4c hair, and this is how straight I got it on my own. So if you have 4c hair, if you have hair like mine, then I think these two like tools, the spray along this brush. It'S like a $ 30 investment. If that I think that's how much it cost is definitely worth it, so I'm just gon na clip my ends pretty much. I was looking for ins that just looked raggedy and split kind of like this and I just snipped it off so just stay tuned. I have a few things to say about my last video and about my edges. So don't go anywhere! Alright, hey you guys! Just a few things about my last video. It was my fault that I was not clear about how the hair loss that I had so a lot of you guys were saying: that's not a lot here is my typical shedding? No, no! No! No! No! No! I should have put in there that I had already released the shedding hairs after my protective style, but I just I was just talking to you guys and I should, if you're new to my channel, then you know sometimes I just sit down and I just talk. I don't have scripts all the time really like. Never, I just kind of talked to y'all like y'all are my friends and I'm just having a conversation. So so that was my fault of not saying that the hair loss that I experienced was because I had already released such headaches. Shedded hairs, I still didn't properly detangle, so that wasn't like first round when you take out your cornrows and you you know all the in here is already coming out and you have it. I had already been there done that this was more hair, because I did not properly detangle and with that bunch that I had and with tons of knots in there. Just not that's why I said that knots we're close to the root it was just. That is a lot of hair that came out with its angling, and I also want to point out if you get that much hair detangling your you know like during your wash days. It may be due your wash days once or once a week or every two weeks, or you know you may want to look into that like for real for real, so it's either breakage you're either just pulling your hair too hard you're, not using the proper tool Either on your head, you may have something internally, that's going on. As for me, I you have to take. I have low iron that helps with shedding. You may have some shedding issues. You may need to start doing some like black tea rinses or you know, go talk to your doctor or something like that because, honestly, like I'm, not joking with you guys it's, it can get very scary when you're losing more hair than you're used to having the Purpose of that video was not the amount of hair that I lost, that I felt. That was a lot for me. That was not my purpose. My purpose is never to show you guys something without trying to help in the end. So if you listen to the rest of the video, then you know, my only purpose was simply to remind you and to really just reiterate the importance of making sure your hair is moisturize and making sure you properly detangle. After your protective styling, I heard about how much hair I did loose, but I just want it. I did. I just didn't want you guys to be like me. I didn't want you to end up like me, pissed off, because I really was at that amount of hair. I do not get that amount of hair. Whenever I wash my hair, you guys see I'm no stranger, a protective styling. I know how to and I'm not trying to toot my own horn and I'm not trying to say I know everything, but my channel is pretty much protective styling, so I kind of have my routine down anyways next, I just want to get into my hairline. To start off, I've never had a super thick hair line. I realized maybe a year ago that the way my hair line is, it actually runs in my family. So it's typically thin right here in these spots right here, it's thicker here and it's thicker here lately. I just noticed, even when I just like wash my hair, this side of my head is moving back and I think it's my fault, um. I think this side is okay. This is typically how my hair goes the front of it. It'S not as thick as it once was, but it's okay. This has always been a bald spot right there. So that's nothing! But this side, I'm just a little bit more concerned with just a few tips that I'm gon na start doing from here on out number one. I just bought some new Jamaican black, castor oil, so I will be doing massages right there, like all on my hairline. Probably every other day with just a little bit of castor oil lately, my forehead has been breaking out, really really really bad. So I'm gon na have to watch that I was at one point using the Camille Rose drops as well, so I'm gon na probably add those back into my routine too. Whenever I do the like massages number, two, if you guys haven't noticed, I have laid off of doing a lot of wig videos a lot of wigs period. I actually haven't been wearing them as much because things like that they don't become helpful or a protective style. If they start to damage your hair, if it's not working for me or if it's damaging my natural hair, I'm not gon na, do it, I'm not gon na keep doing something. That'S just not you know it's not benefiting me. I'M so aware. I'M still gon na do my videos cuz, I love them. It'S just. I realize it's still the friction. I said you're, probably driving them insane. I don't really like the bald cap method, even though that probably would benefit me. I think it would. I'M not too sure I don't do that method, because I still like to wear my natural hair, so in with that bald cap method, you're not able to wear your natural hair. So you know it is what it is. I think for me, it just really comes down to a kind of letting go of the wigs and really just making sure if I'm gon na keep wearing them, making sure I'm properly taking care of my edges as in making sure I'm really focusing on that jamaican Black castor oil and doing those massages I wish I could like stay here and tell you guys a whole list of how to grow back Edge's, but it's not really that hard, less tension, less friction sleeping on a satin pillow. I do that every night anyways and really just begging them being gentle with them. You know making sure you're applying some type of oil to stimulate the scalp to stimulate some hair growth. It'S all gon na be key, and I also want to say not. Everyone has. Is like a super thick hairline? It'S just like this idea for some reason that everyone was born with a big hairline. I would think that that's something that is common knowledge like common sense, but I still see people trying to clown other people about their hairline and I don't like stuff like that. Maybe I'm just instituted I'm hungry, I'm tired. This took a lot of work anyways. Thank you guys so much for watching. Don'T forget to give this video a thumbs up and I'll talk to you. My next one, bye

FaithPeach: Yeah, I’ve never been a fan of people “clowning” other women for having thinning or bald edges. Smells too much like mean-girl stuff to me and so unnecessary. ‍♀️ But your tutorial was great as always—and great advice too! ❤️

Nikki Faiye: "I don't straighten my hair outta laziness" girl! That's it right there. Not afraid of heat at all but ion feel like spending all that time‍♀️

Whitney Graves: Love the fact that you weren’t bothered by your child being a CHILD! #boymom #reallife

Monifa 360: Your hair is gorgeous!! Isaiah is so cute!! I inherited my moms thin edges, it funny because my dad has thick edges & all my sibling are blessed with his thick edges. Never noticed my thin edges until I went natural but I am not mad. It just goes to show you much relaxers trick our eyes into believing we have thick healthy hair & edges

MsHoney420: im so glad I found this video! I am learning how to take care of my hair naturally and your speech about the amount of hair I loose after I take out my crochet braids is insane so thank you I will look into this!

DrGirl444: I'm glad I found you. I just washed my hair after 5 weeks of a protective style and I've never lost as much hair as I have. To be honest, I've gone through the most amount of stress i ever have in my life. However, my hair loss has never been this bad. I'll be working on getting my hair healthy because I almost cried. And, I never cry. Especially over something like my hair

Teena Taylor: Your hair is so pretty! Six years ago I made the mistake of washing my hair without detangling after taking out a protective style. The shed hair knotted with my live hair, and it was a painful disaster! It looked like I lost half of my hair. I learned my lesson and now I comb every section of my hair before washing lol

Candace Walker: You look pretty!! Your hair looks great! I understand what you mean about the hair loss I was the same way the last time I took a protective style out. I am going to check out that pre poo you use because it looks like the truth. Castor oil should def work for the edges! No you’re not sensitive ppl are just negative and rude for no reason it’s quite sickening actually . Your son is too cute he’s fine enjoying himself lol

Nadiyah Cummings: So pretty! It’s grown so much!

pigalotta fattenton: One other thing you can do to grow your edges is move your parts around. That helps my edges a lot.

MRS. Mitchell: Jai your blowout turned out beautifully! I'm sorry you're traumatized about your hair loss but rest assured we don't see it! You are beautiful and you're doing great!! Also - Isaiah has grown SO much!!

Ashlee Brown: This is one of the best hair straightening videos I’ve seen. I plan to re-watch this when I attempt straightening my hair next week

Coco: I always section my edges out whenever I style my hair and then lightly brush (with a boar brush) then back in and set it with my satin scarf. Bobby-pins the ends if need be but yeah. Your hair is beautiful!

Candice Famber: Yes! That brush is bomb! I used it the last time I straightened and it looked like I had bundles in.

frenchiemoni: Aaw. You seem so nice and genuine. Beautiful hair. You did a great job!

Hope Lamb: I love this video and your hair looks so healthy (beautiful)

DebDeb P: I have the same hairline and I also just realized it runs in my family. I appreciate the tips for straightening...gotta try those tools. I haven’t straighten my hair in about two years because I couldn’t get it straight without possibly frying it. . I’ve been WFH due to our current situation and ashamedly I haven’t touched my hair since then...washing should be fun . Thanks for sharing this info. Your hairs looks great!

HealthyGemini: Hair looks gorgeous ! The baby was doing some good flips back there

Double R: Be careful because titanium permanently straightens tightly coiled kinky hair. So if you wear your hair curly sometimes, it won't curl back up. Ceramic is recommended for tight coils. But if you have a loose curl pattern then you're probably fine.

kay: Wow girl you give me hope to grow my hair long. It looks so good and healthy even with the ends. I left a comment on the video about your hair I hope I didn’t seem insensitive. I was trying to make you feel better and not alone. I’m about to do some mini twists and leave my hair alone because idk why it keep shedding like hell. I’ve been dealing w/it for a couple years and 1 doctor blamed it on my hair style. But I swear it’s more than that. Hope you find your solution babe

Angela Alston: I flat Iron and go to Super Cuts and get it layered. I do use Design Essential ....Great Video

Ariana Sullivan: Thank you for this!!! I loved the voice over! I'm going to have to try out that straightener I'm amazed at how long your hair is, so so gorgeous!

M Bloom: I pretty much have the same amount of hair loss you have. I was looking at your scalp and was like that looks just like me! I never had this much hairloss in my life until this 2020 year of "covid 19" when I noticed it was like just coming out. I have had issues with my iron pretty much all of my life but it just started really showing up in my hair late 2020 til now 2021. Its weird because I just shrugged like "eh it's temporary and will just grow back" but this is the first time I've seen it look like this before. So I started talking iron ( liquid form) and adding that to my diet which is a pain because it tastes nasty. I got it on amazon so I didn't have to take the pills. All in all it will take probably 6 months of continued use and also keep my ends clipped. Thank you for doing this video and giving an explanation. Now I know for certain my hair issues are because of my iron deficiency issues.

berlinda graham: I have the same exact hairline like yours,, the funny thing is the same spots and I am natural 4c. Your hair looks gorgeous

Adia Sharel: I use Babyliss as well! Great flat iron!

Renea Benson: I have the same hairline issues. I started using Jamacian Black Castor Oil & Black Seed Oil on my hairline. I've noticed some growth in those areas.

Mimi Resto: I love how ur hair came out! By the way ur son is super adorable! God bless

Moi: Girl. I've been saying for YEARS that I want to go into a real hairstylist to get a real haircut. I trim myself and I know it isn't done the best but I wear my hair in a puff, a fro or twist out so I haven't been trippin off of my uneven cuts. I just don't trust going to someone and them not heat damaging my hair or chopping it all off. I might have to go in with it already washed and straightened to eliminate half this fear.

Helen Bonds: You're hair is so beautiful and healthy!! How did you get it to be so LONG?!

Olivia Brown: Very nice hair! I would love to see you do a review of Straight Silk Spray Heat Protectant by JuniorLabs. It absolutely gets my hair soft and flowy ❤️

Xykari Jehywat: Omg I NEED THIS BRUSH Lol my first time seeing it and I'm sooo in love , tfs

CaddyMarie: I'm in Houston and I found someone that does my silk presses, haircuts, color. She's great! I have the same hairline, a bit more pronounced though. If I wear a man I think they'd talk about my edge up and hairline to no end lol. It's not as noticeable when I'm wearing a wash and go...but when it's slicked back in a bun...

Iman Maxwell: Any tips for keeping it straight once flat ironed or does the product help with the humidity? I can get it straight, it just doesn't stay straight more than a few hours without continually adding more product or more heat, even with wrapping at night

Asia Badd: I lost my edges due to my hair stylist installing my frontal wigs wrong but got them to grow back in lovely just when I had no hope, with the use of Jamaica black castor oil, Brazilian fertilizer, Africans best herbal oil and wild growth hair oil. I started off using them all separately I think that all work, but for me the Brazilian fertilizer show results faster but I started to use all four of them combined and I love them combo you should definitely give them a try. As for the wigs you have to apply them correctly I have a very sensitive hairline so I know what you mean about the wigs thinning out your edges but, trust me when applied correctly your edges will fine.

JustJas: FreshHairByRo on IG is amazing! She’s in aJCPenney salon suite the Pearland town center. I let her do a tapered cut on me a couple of years ago and she is the only person I go to for my trims

Lovey Dovey: Beautiful hair!!! Now I want my hair in a bun ! I need to get a life.

T.T. 87: I have not properly detangled after a protective style and it is a mistake because that shed hair gets tangled in the other hair and with water it’s a disaster. I have the same 2 spots on my hairline also, it’s genetics for me also. Anyway love your hair!

Nikki J _23: Hey Jai, I’m new to your channel and a 4c natural myself. I have fine strand high density 4c hair and my temple are is so thin and I am trying to baby them, I honestly believe it’s from years of wearing braids to damn tight around my hair line and not knowing any better. I have made several attempts in the past to go natural, but would get frustrated and give up. That is so true when you said not everyone has a thick hairline genetics play a factor in everything. We have to accept and love ourselves for how we were created. Us 4c naturals definitely have to treat our hair with extra love and sometimes the struggle is so real. I usually wear box braids and just got into the crochet braids. I have worn wigs a couple times but I must say it’s hard for me to go all day feeling like a helmet is on my head and I’m new to the whole technique of applying them. You make it look so easy and they always look amazing! Thanks for all you do, I’m so glad I came across you channel! Btw your hair looks great and super healthy.

Marcella: Love your videos

Shanita Green: Looks beautiful...

MultiManman5: Please try Mielle Rice Water edge controle and braid gel on edges it really makes a difference!

the Majestic Wierdo: Ulta just had a sale and I bought a babybliss flat iron I'm glad it works because I didn't read any reviews

dannayac: your videos. Which deep conditioner did you use before straightening? I’m trying to find one that doesn’t weigh my hair down.

Kayla: I have the same heat protectant combo

Shannon Armstrong: Gorgeous head of hair and your little man is so handsome and loaded with energy

gucci Reaves: Finally someone who looks like me ugh

Cynthia: Hi lady! I have thin edges and I have started using authentic Jamaican black castor oil by Rooted Treasures. This stuff is the real deal. It is hand crafted and organic. Look them up on ytube. A little goes alonggggggg way.

Nicoya Belcher: I need this brush! Where did I find it?

Jess Mark: Jai your hair looks amazing!! Is your baby bliss the 1” or the 1.25”? I am really trying my best not to give up on being natural but huuunnii, (in my LovelyTi voice) I am over it. I don’t know if I want to try to chop it all off or just perm it. Thanks for the upload. Please continue to stay safe and well!!!

Manager Russ: Girl I don’t blame I don’t trust NOBODY either with my hair. My mom and grandma got short spots now for trusting ppl

kay: Do you think the particular style caused the shedding, or lack of moisture?

Amaechi Omopariola: I live in Houston and swear by Okwe, she’s gentle with your hair and super knowledgeable. https://www.instagram.com/transformedbyo/?hl=en

Ari Pandas: What is the brush thing you are using before the flat iron?

kaystarlo: What size is that flat iron?

The Cozy Canary: Castor oil , cinnamon oil and rosemary 2x a day massaged for 1 minute. Took 3 weeks 2 grow bk my bald spot....that I made on my hair line. Smh. U can add peppermint oil or cinnamon oil to ur deep conditioner as well.

World: Can you link all the products you used please

jamillia james: Where did you get that brush thing from?

CC§Gemini: I have low iron my when I neglect to take my iron pills my hair sheddds it’s so sad, so I know the feeling. I’m going to cut some off so soon as my hair stylist is back at work

Kia Brewer: Where can I order this flat iron from

kpickett80: Ur right... my hair line is similar to urs and it’s I’m my opinion a combination of age and hormones ‍♀️

Sensual Soundz by J...: Where can I find that brush? I love that!

TattedViolinist: Your son is so cute

Kagome: What’s the name of the silver brush ?

Shalonda Vines: I would be scared with a child and that pretty white bed

Judi Joseph: Your son is so cute!

Rurrox: Whats the brush thing called that she is using for the chase method?

Be Be Gibson: Where did you order your clap brush I’m not sure what’s it call

Abel Rebeccah: I'm distracted by your little boy. He's so Handsome

only1msleidi: I can't pay attention to you because there's a cutie running loose in your background

Aiveraa: Where did she get the white brush?

Side Effects May Include:: I don't flat iron my hair cause I live in humid-as-ever Texas. San Antonio to be exact.

Nique 0606: Come through inches!!

C B: He is super cute back there I hardly heard a word....sorry

busisiwe madikizela: Your hair really doesn't look like it's 4c

Nadia SB: Where’s the wash, dc, and blow drying video girl?

Conchetta Barriere: Go check out Vickie Bush she is in Houston she is bomb! And she know how to cut and she doesn’t get trigger happy. Please email me if you and let me know your results. If you’re touch base with her tell her Chetta referred you. ✌
