He Wanted To Cut The "Frosted Tips" Off For A Short Curly Taper Hairstyle

Theo wanted to lose the frosted tips that he'd had his girlfriend add during lockdown and go back to a shorter curty hairstyle with length on top. Dan gave Theo a curly taper haircut with a low number 2 on the back and sides.

#Haircut #CurlyHair #Taper

Alright guys welcome back to the legal gentleman youtube channel the regal gentleman studio. Today, we've got teo in the chair. How are you mate, you're, good yeah, what we do what's the plan about seven months ago i shaved my head off my hair off yeah um and got my girlfriend to bleach it all right, yeah get it down to where, basically just underneath them. I still want some length i like the color yeah. I have it really scruffy, okay and then back and sides to a fade, but not really like extreme, not my skin, okay, like other than that yeah cool yeah. It'S good. I think you've picked the right. The right length i'll show you the right height on the back and sides, because anything we can hear like this length and quite scruffy around the shape's really nice. So essentially, what you do is we can put obviously whatever length you want to go down to. It'S not a problem at all, but then what you do is you leave some of the kale through the blend and that just way just balances everything else. It'S lovely and do you want to go? Do you want to go like take the color out is that is that the plan is that how short you want to go? I think okay good length to really work out what we're doing there so in terms of the back and sides like how short you want to go. What are you thinking lengthwise? I usually when i used to get my haircut more often, i get a two yeah um, so i think that's just what i've said. A good length yeah if that works 100 100 works yeah. Definitely we're just going to keep it quite low so again we're going to blend it out to this shape, but obviously, as it curls and it sits in it, does this, so we create more of around the shape so we'll bring everything out more just kind of Make it make the kills a little bit better, a bit bit easier, a bit more messy. I only started going early like 18., really yeah, yeah wow. Now so yeah yeah, all right. Let'S get on you up and get you started all right right guys. So i'm going to start by doing a horseshoe section, i'm going to work through palm to palm around the back and sides to start with, because i want to start to blend this inside i want. I want the two to be like a taper to the circle. Today, i don't want it to be like a two backing sides, so what i'm gon na do is i'm gon na start by sectioning off the top? Now again, we're looking at a slightly more rounded shape today? Okay, because i always think that works really well with curls, unless we're obviously going for, like a two once a high fade or a high tooth one whatever on the back and size. Obviously, you can go for the square of shape as well, but i think for what teo wants. I think around the shape is better because that way when he gets up, he scrunches it. It'S all messy all over, but we've got the kind of tapering of the number two. So what i'm gon na do start with the back and sides and i'm gon na start palm to palm i'm gon na cut a shape in that is on this angle. Okay, because as it dries, it'll sit a bit like that, obviously the two will create that slightly around the finish start from the side tilt tears head over when i turn it over. If i keep my fingers straight as you can see, look what it does it creates that custom angle, and then we can taper it in so that way, we can create that nice taper into the sides and create more rounded finish, pull it straight out mix it There you go and cut, as you can see, that will naturally just get shorter, as we are closer to the side burning towards the ears that'll leave that length and that will keep see. That'S the luck hail in it there. So we put a two down the bottom blend now, so we're still going to keep the kelp we're not going to touch this bit nice and straight there we go okay, you can see that shape we're coming in the length at the top. That'S getting shorter to the bottom, so if it starts to feel like it's getting a bit awkward or uncomfortable, just tilt the client's head forward or sideways or back or whatever, so we're keeping a lot of that chaos, i'm going to do when we bring that to Around the very bottom, we're going to keep a lot of this length that we can connect into the top that should take off the length that we need to as well get rid of that blonde. As you can see, i'm just following the guide there. We go switch my fingers up before we got bring it in from the previous section. There'S the guide there. You go fingers nice and straight pull out back there like that right. So i'm gon na work on the perimeter now just around this bit here cut in the temple, just a touch just pull it over. I don't want to edge this up or anything i want to go with, like the key thing that teo said to me was makes it really messy when you scruffy retexted. I want to play on that as well. So two guard on leave it down makes it a two and a half, i'm gon na start at the back. Okay, i'm gon na work just quite low. If you look at the length as well of tails neck, we need to rise like we need to lift that up a little bit, because it's making it look really long at the moment. I want to shorten that down a little bit. Okay, just balance it up! More so, like i said, i'm working up and off scooping that off like so i'm doing it a little bit lower because i've also got to blend it in as well closed, captioning not available close guard. Okay, one guard on leave it down just gon na. Take it aside a little bit touch higher, because i want to bring the neck up a little bit as well, just to balance it out a bit more. I don't want to try and encourage the the neck to look longer. We'Ve got a big gap in where the hairline is so that's just neck hair. Okay, so i think we want to leave it to about here and that will create that nice arch into the back. So i'm gon na put my zero in just put a zero line in just for symmetry, so i'm taking it right up to there and using this as a guide to start tapering into just use the minis just to get a perfect. So i can see exactly what i'm going to put my number one guard back on in between closed and open. So halfway just start using this. That'S why my my neckline now will start tapering into that. So, as you see the one and a half looked like, we were really high before, but because we brought the neckline up at the back, it doesn't look that high anymore a little close guard into my open five. Now, i'm just working to get that line out. Now, moving through the lever, i'm gon na start blending. This number two in i'm gon na wait up and off like this into the length, so i'm not gon na take anything from off from there. Okay, your teeth towards me: i'm going to fill my dash, i'm layering the weight on top of it. What we get is what looks like a nice short taper, but we keep length so we can kill that there we go so you see that shape i'm creating. Now look into the mirror becomes slightly more rounded, so imagine when we start bringing all this in to have a really nice taper in and around the shape to the top. There we go. Yes, you'll tie your sample keeping the kale in there, though a little bit of a cleaner finish, still have a messy haircut with a tiny edges. Still works really well this just around the blender as well. They'Ll fall out, naturally we'll work horizontally through the top separating the back to the sides. I'M going to connect this down to the that's just where the colour, so the colour starts, bring it down section back still with keeping some length in there. I think it was about time here we go keeping that just off center. I might fill it up now same again. Bring these down same length as before. The other side. There'Ll still be quite a bit coming off here, because there's a this selection on this side. So much more coming off here than there was on the other side. That'S the loop, there's a length, there's a triangle straight across no far from it. If anything makes it easier, because i know exactly how short you want to go on top, so yeah probably easier to be fair, yeah yeah, but it just gives me another indication of how much you're looking to lose so yeah. No, it's fine! It'S not a problem! At all, yeah as much sort of information as you can get, obviously i've got the style in mind, but then any information you can give me - and you know, like you, said, like the length and stuff that's perfect. Now that's a good length right literally where the frosting is straight up. I'M trying to match up the fringe to either side match it up right now, through the back same kind of thing, just working from the crown i'm going to cut this down to match. Like so so spread a little bit of salt spray and then just scrunch it how you want to sit okay, it's like you said when you get out the shower, just scrunch it and leave it just crunch. It like this getting curls in there like so really emphasizing that kind of slightly round the shape in there dry off in the shape high high heat on a medium speed. So that's essentially what it'll look like in the morning? Okay, so that lovely messy kale and it just sits the very nice shape, search off. You put your mask down a little bit for me as well exciting that looks wicked on your head, see where it really angles into your jaw looks great down into a two as well um. Would you like to see it bigger yeah? Do you want to see more kale? Why not? Okay, so we're going to use a styling powder for this sprinkle over the top into the scalp first and then to the head, and you get more volume more kale. I'Ve never seen that it's cool in it! It'S just a bigger, bigger, bigger curl, which really, i think, shows off the shape of the haircut a lot more than as well, which is a nice way. You know it doesn't have to be the same. You'Re going out. You can make it look slightly different, which this is basically what it'll do so the haircuts the same. If this just brings that texture out and makes it bigger and curlier, which i think looks amazing. Honestly, you see the back yeah, so you've got that kale coming through into that number. Two. That'S great yeah yeah yeah, brilliant! It'S almost like a taper over two yeah yeah, but it's still, you can still see. You'Ve got number two on the backhand side: another loose kale food top thanks man, greens you're, very welcome you

Rolando Rimarim: When he removed his mask, that's when I realized how this cut compliments his face shape. I like it a lot. Another great cut from Dan. I have beene watching This channel for almost two years now and I'm still amazed with every episode.

SuperKillaki: I was lucky enough to get a cut by Dan a few months ago. The experience was totally different to any cut before. He just got it and then explained why every snip helps get to the style I wanted. Been lost where to get a trim since that day…

Dan G: I have a very slightly looser curl than the model in your chair, but it is SO SIMILAR! I am ecstatic that you guys are doing more curly haircuts that are not simply a skin fade with the curls left on top. Would love to see more, even slightly longer styles with this hair texture.

Tim03: No joke this is probably the best haircut I’ve ever seen I have a very similar hair type and this is legit perfect

Teo Horsley: Thanks Dan! Such an amazing haircut - didn't realise how much the neck needed cleaning up haha

Kyri Hadjikakou: I could genuinely watch this all day. It’s so satisfying

Queen South: He did a awesome job and I'm very glad that he actually kept the guy's curl and didn't try to straighten his hair.

peaches5712: I really enjoy watching a true professional do his magic! I cut my family members hair and I learned it all by watching videos like this. Now, if I could just get someone to cut MY hair properly! lol

Young Cansuela: Wow! Such a sick cut. Dude has nice hair…definitely stands out. A lot of even really well done haircuts end up looking similar or “samey” but the curl with the taper and low fade is dope. I love the contrast between the length and messiness and the cleanliness of the lineup and fade. Looks relatively easy too. Good combo of effort and effortless!

PRINCE JOHN: This guy never disappoint me Keep cutting ❤️

imBocaaa: going to my local barbers after watching these videos with Dan, just makes me see how amateur my barber is in comparison…it feels like watching Leo Messi play football and then watching Sunday league

Don't click me.: During quarantine I’ve grown my hair out quite long. Last November I decided to get a “trim” and they cut my hair really short and hair had no style and was the same length all over. I hated it and grew it back out. I decided to get it cut again yesterday in a different barbershop and they cut it really short and butchered my hair. I had been growing my hair for about 8-9 months so I was so mad about it. My hair is quite curly when long and my hair length and curls where similar to the guy in this video only my hair was a little bit longer at the front and came down over my ears. I wanted a haircut similar to this guy but leaving a bit more on the sides and around the ears. Anyone have any advice on what I should do/ say to a barber the next time and Should I go to hairdresser instead? I’m really annoyed because I really tried to tell the barber exactly what I wanted yet he cut it all off and it has a really bad shape now. Thank you!

Hassaan Nasir: I was gonna comment midway through the video that the taper was out of this world but then Dan being Dan one upped himself with the scissor work on top. 10/10 haircut!

Calum Forde: I was the exact same my hair only started going curly at 17, weird that! Would love a trim from you

Lynn Monkres: He looks soooo good You preserved the essence of his great hair and made it look so suave!

Jaded: can't believe this content is free, amazing channel

Luke Thomas: You really do have a perfectly named channel, because so many clients go from unruly boys' cuts to modern gentlemen cuts.

valarya: That neck cleanup was SO satisfying!!! You're the best ♥

Regal Gentleman: We’re almost at 200k subscribers. Thank you all so much ❤️ We’ll have some exciting announcements coming soon, and a few updates for you all!

Michelle S: I love hairdressers who take their time with cuts. I paid $60 Australian which is quite expensive and felt like i was in and then out. Didn't get the cut i really wanted. The woman just wanted to keep more of my hair, but she aint the one who has to deal with it day after day. Now in lockdown for a few months, am desperate for a cut. This guy is great! Nice job! :)

Inge Karjadi: Since the pandemic I have become the hairdresser for my nephews and my brother in law, also my neighbor as well. Every time I am scheduled to do another haircut for them I watch your videos first to refresh how to do the right haircut. My nephews rely on me ever since and I become more confident and more eager to do the haircuts for them. Thank you, Dan. You're awesome and so generous to share your knowledge to us!

Reinaldo Martinez: this is exactly what i wanted when i had curly hair, could never explain it to my barbers just right and would always be slightly off mark. This is incredible

Samantha Velthuisen: Wow, he looks freaking great after that cut

U.M.: The top looked awesome to begin with, a low fade round the back & sides would have looked perfect.

Sherry Gregory: Have to admit, I was afraid you would cut off all his curls. Girls love the curls!

Anya Singla: Such a beautiful haircut, perfect cut

Chuck Cummins: Great job ... carried me back to 44 years in Toronto ... now my clients have a lot less hair!

Pete Rose: Great cut!!! Could you get the same effect on the back and sides by using block graduation at a 45 degree angle to build weight?

Karl B: Looking fantastic I would have liked the sides and back a little longer. So much it could curl all way found b

Ela Donstar: Once in a lifetime i wish to have a Haircut from this god level Stylist Dan !!!!!!

rosanna💕💕: hey regal gentleman, quick question :) got a cut recently and they used thinning shears on the back which resulted to my naturally straight hair to curl up.. what's the best solution for this? pls note that i've tried growing the back part out only for it to be uneven and unmanageable :( pls help.. thank you
