It's winter and there is no way I'm stepping outside with wet hair, so I recently invested in a diffuser to speed up the drying process. However, when using it I realized it wasn't as simple as it seemed. When trying to find videos on how to properly diffuse my hair, I couldn't find any of women who had short natural hair -- so I decided to do my own. Here's a simple tutorial on how to diffuse your hair the right way, and also a look at my updated wash and go technique. Enjoy!

Hi Rhonda, thank you both here and I'm so excited to show you how to do this super easy, washing, though, and I'm also very excited to show you how to use a diffuser on your short natural hair. When I first have a diffuser, I did this huge search on Google YouTube everywhere to see if I could find a video on how to use a diffuser on short natural hair. Everything I found was women, who already had their long big, huge, beautiful early pros, but I didn't see any that really catered to women with short mattoon hair were growing their hair out. And how do you use a diffuser, so I decided to make one of my own after three tries. I finally got the technique down, so I'm show you how to do it for yourself stay tuned, so I'm gon na start off by conditioning my hair with the Camille Rose, Naturals, moisture max conditioner, and I just started using this conditioner about two weeks ago and I'm Absolutely in love with it, it leaves my hair, it looks super moisturized and it doesn't make my hair feel stripped after I wash it out, which I found happens with a lot of different car washes that I've been trying so technically natural, but this one, it literally, Is just as moisturizing and conditioning as it says, it is a bottle. The only downside to this is that I literally have to use two hands every time I squeeze the conditioner out of the tube because it is so thick. But, aside from that, I love it. So much and as you can see, it really really gets into my curls and helps keep them defined as I'm washing them. Next, up after rinsing out and letting my hair down or dry for a bit, I'm going to add in the cream of nature in coconut milk curl, which I relieve, in which I love. I just started using cream of nature's coconut milk products and they are to die. For I mean this is one of my favourite legions to date. Not only does it smell amazing, but it makes my hair feel super super soft and it helps me with my wash and gos because it doesn't make my hair feel flakey or crunchy afterwards, and it just maintains moisture throughout the week and my washes. Those I've noticed have last much much longer. I'Ve been too meticulous about separating my hair so far, this video, but now that I'm getting down to styling, I think it's really important to separate your hair into as many sections as possible. It just helps you when defining the curls and getting as much product as you need in each section. So here's my hair all section and I have to make even smaller sections in some of the sections that I've already made. I'Ve realized that honestly, the best washing goes for myself are the ones where I focus on making sure that I saturate each and every strand, and so I'm going to make sure that hair is super super wet, while I'm styling and using the gel, because my dad Man brush, which has honestly changed the game for all of my wash and gos before I was simply trying to finger coil and rake my hair out, but no the Denman brush does the damn thing. Not only does it detangle my hair perfectly, but it helps me to clump and really shave my curls you'll see so here's the odd Jackies don't shrink flaxseed along heating curling gel this. I swear by every other gel that I've used since my hair super flaky and crunchy afterwards, and putting this with the cream of nature. Leave-In is a winning blow for me and has been my go-to for the past few weeks. So, as you can see, I am raking my hair to start and I'm doing this because I want to make sure that I get as much gel all through each of the strands as possible. So I like to break it and then so squeeze in the product. Now I'm going to comb it with coral comb with the Denman brush and, as you can see, the curls are clumping together nicely and hard to place and just doing their their thing and living their best lives. I think the Denman brush really really sets it off and I'm so so happy that I decided to purchase about. So let me slow it down for you a little bit Here. I am saturating my hair. Now I am adding on tons and tons of the Jackies curling gel and I'm making sure that I get each and every strand I'm not breaking through, and I'm also squeezing the product into my hair and making sure that every bit of it is completely saturated and Cal because this will help think my curls, as defined as I want, so I'm just taking my time raking through the product and then afterwards, I'm going to go in with my Denman brush and start to define the cross. As you can see, when using the Denman brush, you can't just brush it any old type of way, because look it'll make the curls turn upwards, which is not how I like it. So I'm going to show you the exact method I like to hold my hair out to the side and then comb it that way, and that way the curls will just swirl on their own, which is really nice, and it helps them to fall very very nicely. In club together, the way we want - and then I like to single it just a little bit and then continue to curl comb them until they all clump together and create these really nice spiral curls one section down. I just have to slow it down because that spring back - oh I'm so hype about it y'all when people say shrinkage is bad. No, don't listen to that shrinkage with your hair is super healthy, so embrace it for me and didn't sit. The way I wanted to so the next before just a tiny bit blurry bear with me now for the defusing. I have the Infinity pro by conair 259 blow-dryer and it comes with an attachable diffuser head. When diffusing my hair, I make sure to always tilt it to whatever side, I'm trying to dry it time when you tilt your hair to one side, it helps the curls to fall, and the goal in defusing your hair is to not smush your curls and make Your hair look super flat and it's helped your hair still maintain that balance but, of course, get as dried as possible. So what I'm doing is moving the diffuser in a circular motion or up and down left and right. Whatever you do is fine, just as long as you're keeping the diffuser moving each time. This also helps to prevent some heat damage. Right now I have mine on a medium heat, but on high, and I try not to do too much heat on my hair. But if I was blowing cold air on my hair, it would probably take so much longer for it to dry. So I had to use medium so again, I'm just making sure that I tilt my head and I'm moving my diffuser way as I'm diffusing and make sure that it's not pressed against my scalp, so the diffuser is actually touching just the ends of my curls ever So slightly again, I'm doing that because I don't wan na cross, think it's super flat and to just stick to my head. This is the best way to do that and we're back to some clarity here, so you can actually see the detail shots of my curls and, as you can see, they're still defined and I'm still doing that circular motion all throughout my hair, it's starting to dry And the front of my hair is starting to stick up a little bit and kind of do their own thing, which is fine with me, because I, like my hair, to be a little bit wild. I guess - and there is I hope you liked this video. As always be sure to give it a thumbs up subscribe to Romania notifications, so you know where my next video will be live and leave comment. Let me know if you have any questions, concerns or any thoughts, I'm glad I should do for my next video until next time for more beauty tips, visit, Ayesha, beau, calm,

Nedra Hines: So glad I found this! My hair is growing out and I need to dry it before leaving for work in the morning. You're right, most videos feature women with long hair.

K Lincoln: And it don't stop girl!!! You still helping us lost ones years later. Natural hair with all the care. Thank you for the love hair and info.

HoneyDM1: This video has been SUPER helpful!!! I just did the big chop recently, and this is exactly where my hair is (in length) and texture. Thank you for creating this video!!!

Delaney Greer-Valle: This is so helpful! My daughter has type 2/3 on the front and sides and type 3/4 in the back. It is about 2 inches around unstretched. Stretched it's about 4, but shrinkage is another story lol. Because of this, her hair needs to be styled everyday. I'm about to order a diffuser attachment because her hair takes so long to dry in the mornings. She also goes to daycare and I really don't want her out in the cold with wet hair. I really needed this to see if I could make it work on her short hair! Thank you!

lenaIIanel: You definitely redefined wash and go for me. I’ll be trying this tonight ‍♀️

P. T.: Professional, Detailed, Informative. Great video. Beautiful results. Thank you. I needed this.

sweetbelizeangyal: Thank you so much for sharing this. Was scouring YT on how to use a diffuser on a twa and all I could find were the ladies with the big voluminous head of curls. This was very helpful. Your curls are popping and gorgeous, that Aunt Jackies curling gel is the business and a favourite of mine as well.

Solange A: Love your results! Your hair looks so shiny & healthy! . Thanks for sharing!

Jean: Thank you so much my dear! You’ve inspired this 59 year old lady to try using a hair diffuser because it is very hard to find one for women of color. I enjoyed your video and thank you so very much for all of your tips.

Sayana Rochester: Wish you posted videos more often. You helped me make the decision to just chop off my relaxed ends and quit transitioning. It’s been 1 week now...still adjusting.

Yvonne Faith Russell: I often get my curls really defined during the day, then when I sleep on it, it ends up being a frizzy mess the next day. I already use a satin bonnet. Do you have any tips on how to make these curls last for a few days? Do you ever twist them up at night or anything? Thanks!

Rochelle Thorpe: Thank you... My hair is just 1 inch and the diffuser really defines my curls. I wanted to cut it off but my diffuser arrived today and it looks great... way less frizzy. I think I will last through this grow out after wards. Thank you. PS you look like my daughter...

Everybody Dance: Enjoyed the video but, to me, any kind of music playing in the background while you are talking is distracting. It's okay to play music for a short period of time if you are not talking, but it's hard to hear what you are saying while music is in the background. Really good video!

Dominique Devereux: What kind of brush is that?  I couldn't make out what you were saying when you mentioned it.  But I'm not sure if that'd work for me anyway.  I have sho'nuff 4C hair and your hair looks like it's in the mid to lower 3 range.  So you'd probably get decent girls even without the whole wash 'n' go process.
