Hello, everyone thank you for tuning in to my channel, so today, I'm back with another video in my the curly tea series, where I answer your pressing natural hair questions here, and I give you the deep so today's tea, I'm actually drinking green tea kombucha. This is by Yogi it's one of my favorite teas. I drink it like all the time. It'S like the only tea that I really do drink so then, and I just want to point out - thank you so much for y'all coming for me. One of my love's told me that I was not drinking out of a tea cup and then I was drinking out of a coffee mug, and that was a no-no. So your girl has a tea cup and I even have my saucer to go with it. Okay - and I got this from TJ Maxx - it was like $ 7 - it comes together, but the cup and the plate, the saucer. So anyway, let's get into the question. So today's question is about styling and my love wants to know. How do you keep your natural hair to hang down when I first went natural? It was one of those things where, because our natural hair is always picking up when we were in our afros and our twist outs in our braid outs like how did these girls achieve? You know the hang down. Look because that's just not something that was happening for me and I found that there were a few two things honestly that attributed to my hair, not sticking down. The first thing is, if you do not twist your hair in the direction you want it to go, and you just kind of twist haphazardly, then of course your twists are not going to go they're not going to lay down. So what I was just to you is, if you want the twist in the front, to be like a bang, then you intentionally twist your hair down to the front and a bang, and you can put hair pins in it so that it stays that way, because You know when you sleep, they tend to move, you can put hair pins in the one in the front so that they stay down, but the second thing, the second factor, which is a major factor, is length like if your hair is just not long enough, where Your twists are hanging down on their own and your hair is so short that they're just kind of like resting on the scalp. Then it's just not your time. Yet it's just not time for that, so you will have to wait. Girl, you're gon na have to wait, be a little bit more patient just know that your time is going to come, but now that my hair is so much longer when I twist my hair edges, hangs down like there's nothing that I can really do to make It not twist down, because that's just what it does it's the weight of it, it's the length of it um and, of course, I twist my hair in the direction I wanted to go. So when I want my hair to lay over to the right like this, I twist to the right like this, and I twist this side to the left like this and that's how I make it happen. But I will say this: if you are brand new to be a natural um focus on just enjoying the experiences, because I know how much I got caught up in wanting certain things. When I really want my hair to curl, I really want my hair to hang down. I really want my hair to be longer and when you're start to do all of that, you rush the experience, and this is a journey. It is not a race you're gon na be natural for the rest of your life, so do your best to just enjoy where you're at and your hair will eventually hang down, especially if it's attributed to length um your hair's gon na grow, and it will definitely Hang down, so you don't need to worry too much about what you have to do to get it to hang down. It will just hang down well, my tea is almost done. I hope you guys enjoyed this video if you would like to get your question answered in an upcoming the curly tea video. All you need to do is visit me over on Twitter go to Twitter and I need you to tweet me. A black is beautiful, using hashtag, so curly tea and your video can be featured in an upcoming the curly tea Q & A series. So thank you so much for your question and please give this video like. Tyler Neuendorf: It was always such a struggle... I was that white boy with a blonde fro, until it finally grew out enough to hang. I enjoyed the video, thanks!

Ebony Fleming: I definitely had to get past that phase of wanting to do all the cute styles on pinterest when I was first starting out natural. I used to get so frustrated when I would try something and it wouldn't come out the way I wanted. Time and patience is definitely everything because 2 years later I can do some of those cute styles.

Damilola I.: "You're gonna be natural for the rest of your life." I never realized this, thank you! #patience

ROSLYN JONES: Thank you for taking time to answer my question! I guess I will be waiting and doing protective styles for another year or so. Very helpful advice

Theodora V. Mathias: This is so great advice . Because I'm a newbie natural I've been transitioning for 13 month now. I'm still learning how to do my natural hair . I love your YouTube channel and your kinkycoilyme page . I've learned a lot from your platform thanks so much for sharing

freebd99: I love your blogs and tips you've shared. I started my natural hair journey in April 2014 and really value all the feedback. You have a very nice energy and sincerity that I enjoy and appreciate. Thanks!

𝓟𝓻𝓲𝓷𝓬𝓮𝓼𝓼 𝓯𝓮𝓼𝓽 𝓐𝓼𝓶𝓻: “It’s just not time for that “ girl I’m so glad I came across this video ! I was feeling Down about paying a stylist 245$ just to fuck my hair ! You make me smile thank you I also needed help with lay my hair the way I want it! Thank you thank you

Leenieztalkandthrift: I love my tea out of my coffee mugs! I read that @roslynjones said that her hair is 10-12 inches long so she should have some hang time at that length. She might want to try banding or some stretch method or make sure that when she untwists each twist that she untwists all the way down with a gentle tug to hold it & not just untwist & let it go bc doing so will result in the twist shrinking back to the roots. Hope this helps! Tfs, God bless.

4evahazeleyez: Great video! I used to wonder about my hair hanging but not anymore! Tfs ❤️

S P: "And that's just how I make it happen" *sips tea matter of factly*

Alicia Cadet: That tea is so good! Another tea by Yogi that is also good is their detox tea. But everything you said in this video is right when it comes to the hang time of your hair. Just got to be paitent and trust the process.

Angela Rice: Thanks for the advice! I would really like to know how to do a great twist-out! I'm trying to learn, but I haven't figured it out yet!

Jodeja Chisolm: "it's just not your time yet"

Cassie Engelking: Great advice about not rushing the process, but instead remembering to enjoy each step of the journey ;-)

DaLady A: Jenelle keep this up! it feels so good like you got back to the beginning.

Darriana Sim: If you do a wash n go, use a diffuser. Put it into your hair on the side and pull down instead of putting it on your ends and scrunching your hair up. Definitely helps reduce the skinks he

Naturally Dunn: Your hairstyle is awesome. Looks extremely real.

Sikethia Robinson: Awww!! The set up in this video reminds me of your old videos! Loving your hair in this video too!

selene minors: I LOVE THIS SERIES OMG

Jasmine: Nothing but FACTS! Thank you for posting.

MsJones Malone: You are sooo cool! I always enjoy watching.. this was my first "tea" and I know I'!! be back! side note: thanks for answering the question...thanks to the natural that asked :)

c v: My hair really hangs when I twist out on blowed dry hair...but I ain't go time for all dat! Lol. Great video!

Jelikah: You are so awesome. I love this video series idea.

Irrelevance: This video wasn't useful. I just want my natural hair to hang down. I don't like Twist outs and they don't really work for me. My natural hair is armpit length and just shrinks to a twa when I wash n go. I can't seem to get it to hang down. My hair is stubborn because I have thick strands and a lot of hair and my texture is 3c to 4a/b

MsTruelove98: which u part wig are you wearing?there are several on the site and the link goes to the home page. Thanks in advance!

Linda Shinkle: Lovin your hair in this video!!!

𝓞𝓻𝓵𝓪𝓷𝓭𝓸 𝓒𝓻𝓾𝔃: I’m sorry but 4C hair type doesn’t really hang even when it’s very long and heavy. However If you twist it to go down on the back it will stay in down position but when you move your head sideways or down the hair is so stiff that It lifts from the back like a board. So weight is not enough for some 4C Hair. Flat ironing may make it sway and move with the wind.

Ayana: Where did you get that mirrior from ?

inaturally84: Love the videoand the u part your wearing

Cj Sanderson: Love your hair.. and "Those Earrings Tho".... :)

prettyandcaking: hi jenell, it was lovely to meet you at jfk the other day.

Nelly: I’m so late on this video but we have the same name lol

Gurl w/ Kinks&Curls: Idk if it's just the lighting but your foundation looks a little yellow for your skin. it may just be the lighting tho

Brendan Hostetler: So I spike my hair a lot. This might sound crazy. I might be white. but I really want either some rockstar dreads, or just long hair. But my hair naturally is growing into an afro. And it is annoying. Also my ears get itchy and stuff. Am I supposed to like grow the top and shave the sides and back so it doesn't irratate my ears ? Is that what like a shape up is ? Can I grow long hair and just keep getting an undercut ? Like it is confusing. I want long hair. I have crazy hair that grows out like a bush. I just need your help. I wanna know how to make it so it isn't so itchy. Do I just keep trimming the ears and back of the neck and letting it grow out ? Plz help me :( .

Dottie H.: Hair! Yassssssss!

Queen of Sheeba: nice

Svkvna: *TWITTA*

Lizerdfoot / Jinx: My hair already does this y am I here

Lola xo: You sound like Wendy Williams.
