Hey brothers and sisters: how are you guys doing I'm here in the video on banding short natural hair, um banding is basically a method of stretching your hair out instead of using a blow dryer making your hair longer. So you can do like twist outs or braid outs or any type of style, that you need your hair to be a little bit longer for um. Typically, I've never been before, but I've been so eager to do stuff with my hair. Now that I'm I'm starting to bend my hair, so this is how long my hair is: it's not very long. Okay, see it's, it's actually really short and don't mind this middle section. That'S the part that I cut off: um, okay, so I'm about three and a half months, natural okay. So it's really short, so I want to stretch this out enough to do twists out with it. So what you're going to need is rubber bands. I prefer the ones that don't have anything um, no like metal, nothing like that and um just clips. If your hairs a little bit longer, you can get Clips a section off your hair. My hair is not long enough to even use clip, so I'm not going even bother with that. Okay, so um, you want your hair to be a little bit pliable, so make sure that if your hair is dry, cause mine's dry right now that you have some sort of moisture in it of some sort. Now you don't want it to be too wet because that's hard to stretch it it's better to try to stretch it on dry hair um. So you can spray just a little bit of something in it, just so that when you grab it, it's not snapping and breaking anything. So you know start off with a section of hair. I'M going to take the section right here. You can take the sections as big as you want, I'm taking about I'm going to take about this much hair. Okay about that mature, so you're going to grab your hair you're going to take our bure bands and what you're going to do is you're going to try to create some hold right at the bottom. So I'm going to take the rubber band and I'm going to just continue putting the rubber band right around the bottom to keep it stiff. So I'm doing it over and over at the bottom and then I'm going to start moving up the hair strand, taking the rubber band. Let the guy grab some hair, take the rubber band and moving up this strand. Okay, like that, just twisting it up the strand and what we're trying to do is hold it straight as straight as possible doing it slow. So you can see all the way up to the tip and it should be able to stick up just like this. Okay and you see how we got it to be as straight as possible, so it's not all like rump crumpled - it's not all stuck down here. Okay, so I'm going to go ahead and do another section like that and then I'm going to come back to show you what it should look like when you're done. So I'm taking another section - and I know the lighting is kind of weird, but I'm going to take. I'M gon na try to grab as much as I can because sometimes grabbing more is just easier, and I know my hair so short that you really got to try and grab as much as you can and just use your fingers to kind of pinch it down. I should stick up just like this now um make sure that you try to, and I look like the devil right. Oh gosh make sure that you use rubber bands that you know are are like this only because if you try to use those really really tiny on plastic bands, some people use those for my hair. They they can snatch my hair out and then, when I try to take it out, it's really hard. You have to cut it and we all know what happens when you cut show hair so um, I'm gon na go ahead and finish banding up the whole thing and I'll be right back okay, so my hair is all banded up. This is how I look when I was five years old um and the key to banding short natural hair is making sure that that bottom part is really secure, and that bottom part is super. Super super tight and stretched um. So when you have your hair stressed like this, you can you need to go to sleep. Put your satin bonnet over over your head um, I've worn my hair stretched like this to work, and I like this, though I put a wig cap over the band and put a wig over it, but I had to wear a wig that was like an afro Like a poofy way, so that way, I'm you can see that it was so big right here, um with your hair being tight. Sometimes the bands are so tight that my head starts. Hurting me so um just make sure it's not too tight because I've had it. So tight, where I had to take it out, I had to take out like the front bands cuz. It was just giving me a huge headache, so just be careful with that, especially with the new rubber bands. So once your hair stretch like this the next morning, you can just unto you know, take it out or whenever you're going to do here, take it out, and you can see you'll see that your hair will stretch to this length, and so this is what it Looks like and that's how you stretch short short natural hair, have any questions. Let me know if not big kisses, not and I'll, put pictures at the end of the difference from the before and after see you later bye, you
