Welcome YouTube to 11 tips for our fine haired friends. Now here's the thing: fine, haired friends, we're always seeing in the comments like what about for fine hair. What about for fine hair, whether your hair is fine, thick kinky, coily, wavy, straight whatever fine hair needs. The same things that anybody else's hair does, which is either more moisture or more strength or more body and volume. But in fine hair's case, more of fine hair people are going to want more body and volume. But I say that to share with you that if your hair is fine, there's nothing wrong with your hair. Your hair is beautiful. It'S not like pathologically different than like thick hair or coarse hair. It just needs like a little bit of different things: a little bit less product, so fine, hair, friends, you're all good you're in the right place, and we love you pieces now. Let'S dive in to 11 tips for gorgeous fine hair foreign, oh God I caught something on camera. Call the breath it's crazy. If your hair is really fine, do not use this concentrator catch, she didn't catch it as well, as I did. Concentrators are not your friend. If your hair is fine, throw it to me, let's keep playing catch or a nozzle. It'S gon na concentrate the airflow, so it's gon na make your hair sleeker and lay flatter. So if your hair is really fine - and you want more body and volume, take this sucker off and let that blow dryer just blow dry, your hair, big, just let it get huge, see, look so much volume so blow it big without a nozzle. When you want your hair, bigger, ah our next tap, I didn't even look. Am I a baseball player? Am I the first non-binary queer baseball player? They'Re? Probably not really good. You be the judge. Velcro rollers such a good trick again, it's great for fine hair, but you don't have to have fine hair to use it so good to just pop these suckers in especially for like a day two refresh. You can just come right into you. Oh God, you don't have to do your whole head. You can just do your crown, which I love. This is a little trick and just grab your hair and throw in a few velcro rollers. If your ends were dry, you could put some instant recovery serum on your mid lengths and ends and then put this in and let it sit for like 30 minutes. While you do your makeup or like make breakfast or whatever okay. So then, what you can do once those are in you can just pop on a diffuser and just diffuse it. You could also do like this section here and here, if you wanted now, I'm cold shotting it oh, this is actually another really good trick. You can leave the end out and just roll your root like just to give you more lift at the root which I actually did such a good trick. So then, you just undo look see the difference between this side and the side. So this is a great trick for people with finer hair. You can do it on your hair if it's thick too and it'll still give you lift, but it's just really nice for our finer, haired friends, because it'll just perk up your life, a little it'll just kind of like refresh your blow dry, give you some more Volume, our next tip for fine hair is it's a really important tip and it's a movement movement, not layers movement. So sometimes when your hair is finer, it's like ooh, like don't layer it. I don't want any layers because you're, like you just want to retain all the hair that you have and you've had like weird layers in the past and so you're just like that was a bad experience. I don't want anything so often in life, like things are about like compromises and like happy mediums and that's kind of what like layers are for fine hair. Really. What you want is a little bit of movement in the hair. If you have too many layers that can make fine hair appear even finer, but if you have no layers and no movement in the hair, like no weight taken out, it makes it kind of like super like kind of scraggly and like just makes it look even Wispier, what you want is movement, and you want to be able to talk to your hairdresser, about how you need movement in your hair, not necessarily like a super layered. Look unless you're going to go super duper short, which brings me to the importance, especially for finer hair, of using photos when you're doing consultations, especially with a new hairdresser, but again, that's like a tip for all people's hair, but it's especially true of fine hair. Our next tip for fine hair, but actually everybody's hair, is you want to protect your hair from breakage, but especially when your hair is fine, because if you have less density of hair and less amount of hair or if your hair is just fine individually, you want To protect it from breakage so that it can retain its fullness and its shape as much as possible. So a great way to protect your hair from breakage is wet class masking. Yes, if you guessed mask, you are right and it just so happens. We have a great one. This is our nurture mask. It'S incredible. This has vegan ceramides in it. It also has our Hemi squalene. It also has rice protein, so this is really good. It'S super strengthening to the hair masks are fabulous for your hair, fine hair friends. It'S so important on that note to sleep with your hair up. Your body is a 98.6 degree flat iron, but when you lay in bed - and you have like a heavy blanket on you and your head's on the pillowcase, if you sleep with your hair down, it's just going like this between your body weight and the pillow. Just friction heat, and sometimes you know like when you wake up in the middle of the night, and it's like God, it's hot in here, it's a little bit hotter than 98.6 degrees back here like it can be. Like a hundred. You know it's hot and it's eight hours a night that you spend just sloughing your hair up against that pillowcase. Another tip, I'm obsessed with for fine hair, oh my God! Oh, my God, if your hair is prone to Falling flat or if you're, just someone who like loves volume at the crown. Also, though, we need to protect our hair, no matter who we are, so you still want to condition your scalp and you want to condition your roots so many times you'll hear people say like oh, don't put conditioner on my roots. That'S not good. Your scalp is so open in the shower. You definitely want to put conditioner from Roots to tips, for you to experience all the maximum benefits of the formulation in the conditioner. But if you want to have more fullness at the root honey check out a volumizing conditioner for your root and then you can cocktail that into a different conditioner on your midlinks and ends. So I love to use personally and Body on my roots, because it'll help me retain fullness and then on my more fragile, weaker hair on my mid lengths and ends I'll use on damage which is rich in protein, which will really help to prevent breakage. I don't know our next tip and I cannot stress this enough. I feel, like my grandmother being like I just want you to be happy. Keep protectant is so important. I had so many clients in my career who were like who, especially like finer, hair clients who are like. Oh my God like I don't want any stuff in my hair because it like weighs my hair down and like that you know. I want my blow dry to last a long time. Heat protectants have come such a far away. The formulations have come such a far away. So if it's been like five years since you've tried a heat protectant, please try again like it is time to jump in the water is great, but heat protectants are really going to prevent your hair from breaking off from heat styling blow dryers flat. Irons can go up to 450 degrees and, if you let like the flat iron or curling iron like sit on the same piece of hair over and over and there's no barrier, your hair really can become so damaged. Our Drew Barrymore Tick, Tock video. You can physically see the difference and how things respond that have heat protectant versus not. This is the part where we put the serum. Obviously, this is where we didn't and look at that. That'S what we always practice. What see my life seen anything as interesting as this test. This says everything! That'S how we test if our products are giving adequate heat protection. Ah, so he protected as your best friend if you haven't, had a chance to check out instant recovery. Serum so amazing, so lightweight protects your hair up to 450 degrees, but will never leave any sort of heavy residue. It'S so absorbent into the hair foreign hair. Your best friend you're Biffy of all time, just like your Biffy, who, just like can't stop sending like funny memes to you, know it's like just your best friend of all time and body foam right here, gorgeous and body Foams formula is next level wherever you want More body and volume just put it there, so you can put on your scalp. You can put it on your midlinks and ends a hemi-square lane, as always, but also this formula features Bio 10 or B7, which is going to help hair thickness, because it helps make your hair not break. Then we also have our marshmallow root extract, which gives the hair this beautiful, plump full feeling without drying the hair out or making it like frizzy. Finally, we have volumizing polymer volumizing polymer lends an instant plumpness to all the hair strands that it touches. So when you use your own body foam, you want to use like a wide tooth comb or a wet brush to distribute it all the way throughout the hair. It just gives your hair the most amazing full instant, beautiful texture. It'S incredible! Oh my God. It'S fine hair's best friend foreign for our next tip gout. Here, pre-wash scalp oil. You should watch this video to learn all about scalp care, but honest honestly. If you don't have an extra like 12 minutes right now or, however long it is just a quick little crash course, Scout care is so important to overall hair growth and hair health, and what you really don't want to have is congestion in your scalp or a Lot of dryness in your scalp, using something like pre-washed, scalp oil or another pre-poo treatment that has great formula and great ingredients, is going to be so important to your overall scalp Health. Some things you want to avoid when you're thinking about like scalp moisture treatments, I hate to say it, but it's true, coconut oil. You think it's going to be amazing, but it's actually like a medium chain, fatty acid. So it's really a thick occlusive barrier and it's kind of like it can be really like too uh heavy and like doesn't really address the moisture issue, because it's too thick of a molecule, so it doesn't really penetrate through the hair. It just sits on the outside and it can actually exacerbate the dryness. So take a little bit of extra time in your self-care routine and give yourself some scalp care, detangler everybody's best friend, but you know who really loves it. Fine hair fine hair is more prone to breakage because of its natural texture. If you look at it wrong, it's gon na freaking, you know frazzle out at the ends a little bit and a lot of times for people with fine hair bring on the highlights bring on the whatever. Like. I want all the extensions I want the highlights. I want all the things it's really important to preserve the hair that you have and prevent breakage in the first place. So detangler is really really good, especially for like day two day, three and day, four refreshes so like when you're gon na like take the blow dryer back to your hair, put on a little bit of a Reviving Mist put on something to protect the hair. A little bit before you take the heat back to it is back combing backcombing's a thing, and it's not just for like our Midwestern girlfriends, it can be for everyone there's a lot of different ways to back home. So let's talk about it, there's like so many ways to do this, but basically like you can talk about back combing at your scalp and then you can also talk about backcombing down here, like on your ends, to create more fullness right, so they're, both good for Different reasons and I'd like for people to do back, combing at your scalp if you're feeling inclined, but you just got ta finish it right like you can't just like go in and just like, you know, rat it up all willy-nilly and then just like okay, it's Done now, if you see my little hair right, it's really important like how you hold it. When you're teasing, you have to have your hair under even tension. The motion for back combing is like little C shapings and the more backcombing you do. The more you're gon na have to finish it. So if your hair is super fine, I wouldn't suggest doing like so so much because, like it's gon na show, so you can just kind of like go through everywhere over the top of your hair and just like pack, the hair right onto your scalp, using like A little C shape section, so basically you just kind of like take a little brush after that, and you kind of just like Smooth out the top I like to do the ends. You can use a brush like this or you can again use a comb, but basically for the ends. You can just like. Take it and you just hold everything and you kind of just go like, and you just do like a few little things like that. To kind of like create a little bit more like fullness in the hair and it's still a c shaping but you're kind of just doing like underneath the hair. Oh, my God YouTube. I hope you loved that as much as we did. We love you so much. Thank you for supporting our work. Thank you for supporting our Channel fine haired friends. We love you so much do not forget to use your heat protectant and we'll see you next time on YouTube.

Amanda Madge: Do you recommend all hair types wear their hair up while sleeping? And what is the best way/thing to use to put hair up in for night time? Thanks! Love your videos & products!

Kerry Levy: I have fine hair & your Complete Conditioning Mist (detangler) is an outstanding product, my holy grail leave in conditioner. I’ve bought it for both my daughters & my daughter also uses it on my granddaughter, they also love it. Your oil is also light & beautiful on fine hair. I’d also like to add that I appreciate that your products are not sickeningly fragranced. I’ve tried leave in products from two very expensive brands & both were so highly fragranced they gave me a migraine & I had to give them away. Your beautiful products don’t do this so thank you, I look forward to trying more

Annie Banannie: I have super fine hair, and I was blown away by how well your Instant Recovery Serum and Air Dry Cream did on my hair. They gave me such a great style that was beautifully textured and shiny and didn't weigh down my hair AT ALL. So, I just ordered the Embody shampoo and conditioner and the foam also (and I think the Blowout Styling Milke too). I'm so excited to try them! I know they are going to be so great for my hair.

Ro Guerra: Yes!! This is exactly what I need. I have really fine thin hair that is slightly wavy. But not really. These tips are everything for me!!! Love you!!!

Holly Gamble: I’ve always welcomed the no-nozzle hairdryer thing. I love me some frizz, it adds some actual *volume.* And *TEXTURE*

SpunkyPopcorn: Okay I was already excited about the foam, but now I had to go order it This fine haired curly girl is always on the search for more things to try (I’m from MI but moved to CA a few years ago and am still trying to figure out how to manage my curls. They seem to be missing the humidity. I am not!).

TheAdacuarez: Class just started and I’m here for it ALWAYS TO LEARN FROM THE BEST

Catherine Tinker: I’ve joked to my friends that sometimes I wish I could just ask you what to do with my hair and this is so helpful!

Julie Ann Fae Healing: Lovely as always JVN. Your products have totally changed my hair love game. Also my mind was blown by the conditioner cocktail technique!

miltoncat: OMG THANK YOU. I’m always aggravated with my fine sorta-wavy hair that quits growing way before my neck ends.

Libby S: I've been using that concentrator attachment on my blow dryer forever. I've been doing this to myself THE WHOLE TIME

Cheri Hendricksen: Ever since I started using JVN I have never looked back! in love with every single product

Nany Sunflower: The best head of hair on YT‍♀️in my younger days I had thick, thick hair & I hated it. Now….in my 60’s it’s thinning & I hate it! I’ve tried everything under the sun to “thicken” it to no availcareful what you wish for

Sue G: Thank you so much for this video. I have super long, fine hair. Will sleep with it up from now on and use rollers. You're amazing!!

Jenifer Stewart: Can I just say how much I love your top? I love the colors, the message, and it looks so comfy! ❤

Maham Khan: The face you made when you caught the hairdryer concentrator is the same face I made when I saw the video title xD THANKYOU for these fine hair tips!!!

Hannah Brown: I have such immense love for this wonderful human.

jim jam: Loved all these tips! I wish i could buy your products where I live, they sound so nice

Purple People: Jonathan love your channel and I have a question. I am part of the fine hair community lol and I shampoo and condition one day then the next I just condition. A hair dresser told me not to because you need to let your hair rest but my hair was in better shape when I did vs not? How do you feel? And I let my hair air dry most days… again love you thank you for your advice ❤

s Evans: You're the freaking best! LOVE YOU BOO

Heather Hope: if I skip the concentrator how do I reduce frizz? I have straight fine hair and use a blow-dry concentrator and a round brush so I can add volume without using the shine, the one thing my hair does well is shine and be smooth and soft, and it's hard to blow-dry without a concentrator without losing that. I don't want full dull hair and shine products weigh my hair down :(. I'd love to see a blow dry tutorial for straight fine hair from JVN because this tip has confused me.

HintOfLavender: I'd love to learn how to grow back some hair because mine is falling out and doctors can't figure out why :')

Amber Wight: Thank you for this, I’ve gone for 25 year of my life, never having a hairdresser that knows how to work with fine hair. Never having anyone around me that has it either. It’s always been a major struggle with breakage, matting, flatness. Thank you!!

Robin Jackson: My hair is fine, short and very thin. I’m 69 and can’t spend more than $20 tops on product. I’m in a small town that Carries mostly Suave-like products. I’ve given up. But you rock.

Bridget Polglase: I just tried to buy the deep hydration routine from website and it said it doesn't ship to my address how/where can I buy jvn in Australia?

Erica: Would we use instant recovery serum before the blowout milk or blowout milk then recovery serum?

Lorraine Edmond: I have fine hair, but it’s very thick. Advice for fine hair generally assumes it is thin

Alicia Grace: Confession: when I'm feeling sad, I hop over here and rewatch some JVN because he always makes me smile.

Miss Morgan Rae: Thank you for offering travel size for your products. I travel a lot and needed that option. Your the best

A. S: Love uuuuuuuu sooo muuuuch! Thank you ! Do not change ever! Thanks for the tips! I have curly kinky thin hair

yvonneanne7: Also, really need to get your recovery serum

trickycoolj: I have baby fine hair but I have dense dense heavy hair. It’s so dang heavy it pulls the wave out. I can blow dry upside down and it goes flat in an hour. I finally just chopped 5” of my new pandemic length off. I just looked like those people that use a towel to make a mom character on tiktok.

hol: YAS! It took me SUCH a long time to accept that my fine hair is just a part of me and my genetics and not because it’s ‘worse’ than anybody else’s. Treating myself to JVN hair milk & heat protector for Christmas hoping that it will be lighter than Olaplex etc, which even a little is far too heavy. Thank you for these tips

Ashley Glass: why did I never think of using the embody conditioner on my roots thank u for these tips we lovvveeee

Ashley P.: I’ll never forget learning that moisturizing my facial skin helps my oily skin. It was a huge game changer in my skin health. I don’t know why I never translated that to my scalp but since watching your videos I’ve very hesitantly started putting conditioner on my scalp. I cannot believe the difference it makes. All those years of staying in that crazy cycle of continuous washing my hair and getting oily by the end of the day. I’m trying to sleep with my hair up but finding it difficult because my hair is on the short side and my hair ties fall out. Thanks for your tips!

Lina Marcela: Finally!!! The video that I was expecting ❤

Laura Greenlee: Is every hair dresser going to know what I mean when I ask for “movement layers”? Or is there another way to describe?

Lien Pisters: Thank youuuuu this is so educational!!!!!!! P.S. If you know (celebrity) examples I can show my hairdresser, that would be interesting as well because I actually don't know WHO has fine hair?

Katie: I have fine hair and A LOT of it. As I've gotten older, I've noticed my hair is a lot more sensitive than it used to be! I have to be super mindful of how to take care of it. Thank you for posting these tips! So, so helpful! When you say wear your hair up when you go to bed, what style should I wear it in?

megleland: Fine hair IS just as beautiful...and it drys faster, you save on styling time and product...and it is cooling in hot climates...etc.

Glam Girl Gabi: Babe, me and you NEED TO DO a collab! Are you up for it? I will come to you!

Julia Feeser: My fine hair has gotten so much smoother and healthier since I started using JVN products! Volumized and less frizzy. Thank you for the awesome tips I feel seen My one struggle is I hear you mention a lot that you should sleep with your hair up loosely. However, if I tie up my hair loosely it falls out almost immediately, and tight enough to stay up makes it too tight to where my scalp is irritated when I wake up in the morning and I worry I'm causing breakage. Any advice/alternatives? Thank you!!

Jenifer Stewart: Should you still avoid a concentrator if your hair is fine and thin AND you have curly, frizzy hair?

Claudia Kayda: Add the steps to your description box too!

Snehal Sinha: My scalp gets dry after I wash it even after putting conditioner on my scalp. If anyone has any tips pls let me know

Anukrati Shrivastava: I’ll say it again : Does buying the JVN line makes me feel closer to JVN ?? Yass ‼️ Did the JVN line and tips made my hair better ? Yasss ‼️‼️‼️

Terra Winston: I adore you! I’m a coily girl but I’ve been told I have fine hair, is this possible?

Fay Pattison: When will Embody foam be available in the UK? ❤

Cynthia Comprés: The instant recovery serum is a MUST! I have fine very very curly hair that’s prone to break and tangle if you look at it wrong, so I heat style it for convenience but have been leaving it to air dry and the PROTECTION and softness that the serum gives it its amazing! Really really love it ❤️❤️

PiggyAzalea: JVN is my Jesus. Look at how beautiful and smart they are. Thx babes for the hair tips. My hair is thinning and fine. Saving this video to my favsss❣️

Trisha C: I have fine, thinning hair (age and genetic related) and I always thought the concentrator was good for aiming at the roots when doing the first part of my blowout. If I take the concentrator off, won't my hair get frizzy? Thank you JVN for all your tips. You are the best!!

Snowflake B: Thank you!!

Cassie Selgrade: I don’t think anyone has ever said to me or in a video I’ve watched, “fine hair is beautiful and no different than anyone else.” Ummm , thank you! I always feel like i’m sorry to make people cute my fine hair. ❤ Love you

Angelic Guidance & Healing: Excellent Jonathan! Thank You!

Esther Ethereal: I thought conditioner won't help since it gets washed out but leave-in is the way to go

Anna Rush Schultz: love being early to another one of JVNs videos. just restocked my JVN shampoo and conditioner yesterday

Nikki Hansen: Omg no concentrator, rollers & movement love these tips!!! ❤ ☁️ foam hahah I swear you were talking about me ie extensions lol

Msxallisonwonderland: Jonathaaaaaaan! Your enenrgy just throws up rainbows and magical sparkly dragons~ I love it! But on another note, I need tips for fine-haired SHORT HAIR girls... And I don't mean shoulder = short... NO! I mean short hair like pixie or chin-length or less. I feel I have to wash my hair EVERYDAY because sleeping with short hair will destroy my hair for the following day. Hair is facing ALL the wrong ways, sitting flat in some, and completely in disarray in others. I LOVE my short hair, but I hate that I feel I cannot just wake up and make it stun in a matter of minutes.

Elaine Martinez: Do you have any tips for hair re-growth?

yvonneanne7: Thank you for such great tips for us fine hair people ❤ Also big yes to Velcro rollers (have been using them for ageeees for my fine hair) and sleeping with your hair up - also adds so much volume in the morning!

inferno: could you please do a video on cowlicks?

Michele Cirrincione: Thank you!! I love your products. I’m glad to hear I should condition my scalp. I’ve lost a lot of hair this year and I’ve been freaking out about it. I just tried the volumizer today, OMG I love it!

Vidhu Bhatnagar: Velcro rollers get stuck in my hair!! How do I get them out?

Kerry White: ok ive tried the foam one time.. very small amount.. and i felt instant stiffness.. and had a hard time blow drying with my normal round brush.. I will try again with even less product..What else am I doing wrong?

hannahmitchell87: My issue is not knowing how much heat protectant to use :/ I'm worried I've not applied enough to give adequate protection but as a result I think I apply too much, which weighs my fine hair down & makes it look lank. (I use the Aveda spray currently but have found the same issue with all the ones I've tried!) Maybe I need to give yours a try JVN! X

Ali B: Thank you for your tips!!! I went to a new stylist a few weeks ago and the first thing she said to me was, "Wow, your hair is so fine." She actually told me to not use conditioner, which I am not following because I live in Colorado and my hair desperately needs MOISTURE! Anyway, just ordered the best selling stylers set from your JVN line and am so excited to try it out when it arrives. Love the channel!

Juliane Mortello: Jonathan, I have thick hair but I don’t even care. I could watch you all day. Your videos just make me laugh! You’re the best!❤❤

Katie Freedman: I use NOTHING but JVN hair, and my hair/scalp has never felt better. ❤ I will never use anything else, and to make it even better, the products themselves make my hair smell so good !! I pray JVN never stops making products because I’m hooked and I got my mom hooked on em too ! Lol

nigfheac: As a fine haired gal the best investment of late is the JVN heat protectant. I love it!! I dunno what magic is in it but it solves my hair pains - overall smoother but not heavy, less flyaways and the style seems to last longer - again without getting greasy AF.

vicwaju: i have very thick 4c hair but still enjoyed this video v much lol

K V: I love this I LOVE U!!!!

Angela Boniface: Thank you so much JVN. I have superfine hair that almost instantly falls flat…it’s got worse as I get older, 58 omg, and I’ve now discovered I can buy your products in the UK. Bring on the body and volume. Much love from Scotland

Tom Marvolo: Your energy is so fun, ridiculous and kind. It's gorgeous. Continue thriving.

TiffanyMS: I HATE (WITH A PASSION) my super thin hair. I know that’s strong, but it’s so true. Going to try some of these tips!

Rebecca Esther: Yay thank you I love you!

Katherine Euliano: Love it! Thank you for creating the JVN product line. I will be ordering after Christmas.

Kiah Madison: Knots Knots Knots. I use a detangling brush and kids hair knot spray. I'm growing my hair for alopecia wigs at the moment.

didajosh: I want to tell you that using your products completely changed my hair game. I actually love my hair now. Thank you, truly. Also, is there any instruction video around the hair foam? I certainly have fine hair and perhaps could benefit from it. Xo

Sweetzerlandia: Thank you SO MUCH. I chopped all my thick hair off and it's growing back super fine - I grabbed a couple options and am super excited to see how it goes!!

Kate Hurlahe: So grateful that after 60 years of feeling like a chemist, I get what I need/want/must have. I'll be rockin some locks til whenever!

Taylor: THANK YOU FOR THE TYPE 1 CONTENT Do you have recommendations for how to make your back-combing stay in place? As much as my hair tangles throughout the day from just living life, for some reason when I tease my hair it falls almost instantly and gives me no volume, just a big rat's nest!

Selina Bender: Blow it big is the BEST advice for us fine haired friends! I am so grateful to JVN Hair for helping transform my hair. ❤
