All right, hey you guys, so I wanted to I've, actually been meaning to talk to you guys about this really quickly. I just keep forgetting I don't know what it is for about two years since Darren's been growing his hair out, he has like developed, because he didn't always have this. It wasn't until he started to grow his hair out and use more products, and that kind of thing um. He started to have really bad dandruff or a seborrheic dermatitis. If you want to call it that um, it's also called cradle cap in infants. So just a lot of those flaky scaly patches in his hair and it just kind of got worse and worse the longer his hair grew, which meant the more we were styling it, the more products I was using and things like that we would just notice it Was just kind of lingering and then it just kind of got worse. It never really got better, there's so many factors that can cause it, whether it's like products, you use where there's stress hormones, even your diet. I can't even narrow down exactly what has caused his to flare up or or he has it now or whatever the case may be, but I can tell you what has really helped recently and the one major major thing that has really changed. Is I'm not using a certain gel anymore? So, for the longest time I was using the gummy hair gel and the African Pride hair gel I'll put these two right here. I still love them. I think they're still really great gels. They do. They do just fine. In my hair, but I don't have any scalp issues like he does um, I think they're still really great, but they're not good for Darren, and it took me finding a new gel just randomly randomly just finding a new gel that I had no intentions on using Really on his hair, of course, I was going to try it out because I do braids twists all those kind of things on his hair. So if I'm doing it on mine and I'm using using it on my here, um I'll try it on his. But I didn't buy it specifically to be like. I wonder if this will help with deer and scalp or whatever you guys get. What I'm trying to say, the gel that I started to use now is the neat braid gel. He still has it. He still has um dermatitis. He still has dandruff. He refuses to go to the dermatologist, so there's that I'm not even going to get into that or whatever um, but it's really not as bad as it once was you guys before I switched over to my gels. You could see it um kind of all down where his hair was faded. Of course, it'd be all in his scalp. It even at some point would get in his um like his bearded area, and it wasn't a lot, but I had noticed I'm like. Oh, you got flakes, you got a little dermatitis in your chin. We just really didn't know what to do and since he wouldn't go to the dermatologist I was like. Well I I mean I'm not a medical professional, but it just so happens that it it was. It could have been the jail, maybe he was having reactions to the gels I was using and whatever was in. You know the ingredients within those gels, because the knee braid gel has really helped a lot like. I said he still gets it. It hasn't went away, but it's not as much anymore and he can go a lot longer now with just his braids and not always constantly scratching his head, like it's a really big change, like it's a dramatic difference, you guys, so I just wanted to point that Out really fast um, because it was something that just didn't come to my mind. It never occurred to me to just keep changing product. Um gel is not super expensive y'all, so I could have been changed out his gel or whatever, and I was only using two of them at the time. It just didn't really occur to me to just be like hey, switch your product, just switch product and see what happens and once I did that y'all so much better are so so much better, so yeah. So I'm just showing you guys right here, just his hair um, I didn't do the entire wash day and braid up as far as recording it, but this is how his hair looked when I was taking it down, so he had as many twists in for about Now, maybe two weeks, so this is his hair. After two weeks, he I mean he hadn't been really keeping it up as much as he normally does. So this is scalp how it looks after about two weeks going into three weeks. You guys - and I think his scalp is this bad, because the last time he washed his hair, I didn't kind of like get the flakes up, which is something you kind of have to do. You kind of, I think it's necessary, but you need some kind of a scalp scrub or get your comb and gently kind of get those flakes out. He didn't do that. He just went on ahead and washed his hair, and so this was kind of the aftermath of that wash day, plus we're going into another wash J. So it's a lot at this time I was like whoa. This is a lot, but it took me up until about yesterday to be like. Oh, you know what we didn't do this process of the scraping. You know getting all of the dead skin out when he washed it like mid mid-December. I was like oh okay. This makes sense. Now I try to go through little by little to you know at least get it off of his scalp, because it can stay stuck. You guys really scratch his scalp. He likes it. It feels good to him, and then I went on ahead and just washed his hair with my agile shampoo, and then this is his hair immediately after it looks so much better you guys his scalp is nice and cleansed. We did too thorough, like really good cleanses um, for his hair, and so this is what we're working right now and then I went to deep condition with my Amica soul food. He left this on for about two hours. He left it on for quite a while because he took Isaiah outside and they went to go play for just a bit and he needed it. He needed as much moisture as he could y'all, because he's been at this point. He hadn't had a deep conditioning treatment in like two months. It was like really bad. I was like oh never again. Never again, you need to deep condition your hair men, women, if y'all, have not tried this Amica deep conditioner. It'S really good. It'S just a really great nourishing hydrating moisturizing, deep conditioner foreign foreign wash that out you guys and then I just put two little cornrows in his hair with a little design in the middle. Something just hold them over for the week and I probably end up doing his hair again this weekend, something that he wants. But this day I was tired. I didn't really feel like doing too much, so he got two little cornrows and he was off to work for the week yeah. I just wanted to come on here and just share that with y'all, so some of y'all caught it was probably like. Okay. This is pointless, but I've got so many things in my mind, all the time yeah, I'm not really too much thinking about product product like that and then just his head and all that kind of stuff. It took me a second and when I finally realized that I was like dang well, that was an easy fix, so some stuff is just easier than what we think so yeah. I just want to put that out there. Let me know if you guys have any questions, any comments, all that great stuff, hopefully it'll, help someone um. If maybe it'll, help you or your brother, your sister, whoever is suffering. You can't switch up everything at once, but try and switch up something you use the most often and then go from there. It'S kind of like a trial and error at this point. If you don't want to go to the dermatologist and they prescribe you something blah blah so yeah, that's it you guys! Thank you guys so much for watching and I'll talk to you guys. My next, you bye

Carrie Perrier: I have seborrheic dermatitis as well. Got it after having my daughter in Nov 2021. What worked for me is the "As I am dry and itchy scalp" hair care line. Literally starred using the oil alone and I had no itchiness for like a week, started using the shampoo and conditioner along with it and my scalp is back to normal how it used to be. Longer wear of styles, less itching unless my hair really dirty, no flakiness etc. Try it and see

NM Pearls: I recently had this same issue. I started washing once a week using lighter to no oils. Heavy oils and other products increases the growth of dandruff. I also found ACV products very helpful and hair steaming.

Teena Taylor: Love the new intro! Thank you for sharing this info, and Darren helping us out as well If my hair is not in a protective style I have to wash it every week because my scalp gets so dry and flaky. Very helpful tips

Ada Mbata: For me, I had to stop using jam gel and I threw out a lot of gels. Joie hasn't bothered me since I've been using it. My scalp would be sore wherever I used that gel.

Y'Lexus Singleton : I quit putting oil on my scalp directly and that has help my flakes. I only spray aloe Vera juice and rose water on my scalp.I will apply oil to my hair itself but not my scalp.

BrownFaceTV: Yes this was helpful! My daughter has thick, dense and long hair and her scalp now has dry patches all over which freaked me out at first. Her dad suffers with dandruff and is used to it. Okay so we gotta scrub/scrape the scalp but how do we get the flakes out the length of the hair? I tried washing multiple times and they are still there ‍♀️

octavia mitchell: My son has this issue really bad but he does see a dermatitis I’m a licensed cosmologist and nothing helped so the dermatologist I went. But good to see it’s not just my son with this issue it’s in his beard too and eyebrows sometimes. Thanks for the video ❤

Karmen A.: I've had Serberric Dermatitis all my life and I've found taking Caprylic Acid 600mg is a game changer for me.

Cammy Scantling: I suffer with dandruff too. It's frustrating but I've noticed too with having that condition you do have to be careful what type of products you use. I'm definitely going to try that gel you talked about for when I do protective styles. I appreciated this video and you talking about dermatitis. And your husband will to be on camera showing his scalp condition. Thank you for all your content.

Life With Kimmy: Try doing an apple cider vinegar rinse, it helped a lot with my dandruff and itchy scalp.

Ephya Asamoah: I realized my dandruff started getting really bad after using African pride gel as well. It works for my sister but just not me. Good to know I'm not alone...

Shaquana Andrews: Same thing happen with my daughter. So i cant put oils or edge control directly on her scalp anymore. But i have noticed no issuses with Fantasia serum..so we use that for shine. Great video.

Erica Bonnee': My daughter had a similar issue. The only thing that has helped is the Head & Shoulders Royal Oils shampoo and conditioner. It has worked wonders.

Neisha Reign: Have you tried Sulfur 8? I know old school I tried it on my daughter’s hair when she had some flakes, and it really helped soothe her scalp.

lam3zilla: I as well suffer from a scalp condition I noticed I have more flare ups with products containing alcohol I did research on it and it say alcohol can cause the skin to flare up so maybe look at the ingredients in the products your using and do a process of elimination by weeding out certain ingredients

Charittey Scott: Thank you for discussing this, so needed! Do you have the link for the scalp brush?

Lady Rose: I have seborrheic dermatitis also but along my hairline and around my ears. I was using a shampoo from Alodia hair care it did help with it but it dried the rest of my scalp out. I only use it now just on my hairline. I really like their hair and scalp oil. I do find myself still trying to find things that work.

Kerry Benskin: If he has eczema it could be in the scalp as well. Just a thought

DeJanae McGauley: That's my hair texture
