Perm Rod Set On Short Hair | Liyah Moore

What is up guys? I know you have not seen me in a while, but today we are going to be doing my hair. As the title says. Today we are going to be doing a perm rod set. I have only done a perm rod set one time. So we are going to try to thug this out and see if it comes out right. I know the steps to take so let's hope that it comes out right, so i'm gon na jump straight into this video and, let's get to it. So my hair is freshly washed freshly conditioned and, as you guys see the last time you probably saw me my hair was dark. I have dyed my hair twice since i last been on youtube. My hair was like a golden brown color and then i lightened it and i tried to go lighter, which i did go lighter, but i end up putting this ash blonde into my hair. So i'm waiting for this to wash out um. So we're going to be ash blonde. For you know 24, it's not 24 washes. I was trying to take the cast of the yellow out but yeah. So i'm going to start um with my hair, i'm going to section off the front of my hair and my hair is already detangled all right y'all. So today i'm going to be using all my yellow products. I wash my hair with the mayo shampoo. I deep conditioned my hair with the mint or i think it's a mint oil shampoo or something like that, and then i'm going to go in now with their leave-in conditioner and i'm going to be using their mousse today. So i'm using all my yellow products to do my hair today and no is not sponsored. Maybe one day they will spontaneously your girl not consistent enough to be sponsored. So hopefully you know i become more consistent, so i just bought some perm rod. So if you want to pause the video, these are the palm rods, i'm using i'm using the three by four diameter and i'm using the nine by 16 diameter, i'm using the long ones, because i don't know how the short one the short ones would look. So i am using the long ones today, um because i just don't want to run out of rollers, so i did part my hair into half and i'm just going to part that half again starting with my leave-in conditioner, i'm going to spray that into my hair. Like i said, my hair is detangled, so you want to start off with detangled hair. So i'm going to take the mousse. You can use any mousse a good amount into my hands and take my red cell phone and comb that mousse through i'm just going to take the roller i'm going to go from the bottom of my hair start at the bottom of the roller and roll that Around all right, so we're gon na continue to do that. I think i'm gon na put like four rollers back here and you can go as big or as little with the sections as you want so make sure you're working on the ends and as much or as little mousse as you need, depending on your hair. But you really want the ends to look very, very like saturated whenever you're um doing it your whole head honestly, the whole strand of hair that you're rolling you want it to be saturated all right. So i think what i'm going to try now, i'm going to gather my hair like this, i think i'm going to take it around i'm going to flip the roller around my hair. I think that will help and then just roll it up, and that will help with holding the curl. But i don't want my the curls too tight, but if you want a tighter curl, just go with a smaller, a smaller roller. If you want a bigger curl, go with the bigger roller on a medium sized curl, i think the medium size is the ones that i have so the orange ones and the purple ones are the medium sized ones, and i know they have bigger ones and they Have smaller ones, which i use the smaller ones when i my hair, was shorter, so if your hair is a little shorter, when, if your hair is shorter, i want to go with a smaller roller all depends on what the look you're going for. I think i'm going to continue that method that i just did all around my hair, because i like that it's getting to my root, it's getting closer to like my head and, like i said it's only my second time, but i wanted to record it because i Haven'T recorded in a while, so i wanted to record me doing it even if it's a fail, i'm going to post it. I want my curls to fall to the front of my hair when i take them out, so i'm going to part this off. So i do these last and i'm gon na do these with the purple rollers, as i get closer to the top of my head. Okay, so i'm apart, i feel like that's even i'm using the the camera and this mirror. I have that's a little far away kind of eye where i want this at all right, so i did the rollers in the back. I think i have eight back there right now, so i got more purple purple per pad. I got more purple rollers than i did orange rollers we're just gon na make it do what it do baby all right y'all. So then we section this off and you see how we have like these little sections over here. So what i'm going to do is i'm going to i'm going to spray this whole section with leave-in, so i'm all over the place guys. This is how it is. When i do my hair - and i never like really done a hairstyle before or i never really done it before i'll - be all over the place, so just bear with me so now i know: we've worked that leave-in conditioner in. I think i'm just going to take sections and just add rollers to them, so let's go loose, it comb, it loose comb roller and i'm not doing this uniform, because i want my hair to look as natural as possible. Okay, y'all! So i did the middle part of my hair off camera. So now i'm back and we're gon na. Do this front part. It should not take me that long. So i'm going to do the same steps. I did my hair. So what i'm going to do is i'm going to take smaller pieces. I want to take my mousse it comb it, oh all right y'all. So this is how it is. I feel a loose one in the back, so i'm gon na tighten that one really quick, but i'm gon na put my bonnet on and then i will show you take me taking these down. So i'm going to put my bottom on and go to sleep and i might sit under the dryer. Um depends on how they feel in the morning when i wake up and it depends on if i'm sitting under dryer or not so now, i'm just gon na go to bed, okay guys, so i this is how my hair looks completely dried and i'm about to Start taking it out so taking it out, i'm going to put some oil, i'm baking for some oil. I'M gon na put some oil on my hands. I'M gon na rub it together. Rub it all into my hands and then i'm gon na start from the back. Just unraveling the rollers, oh already, you don't even look like a soccer okay. So now no i'm not okay! So i have all the rollers out of my head, and this is how it looks before i start going in and separating some of these. So i'm going to take the curl, i'm just going to smooth the oil into the curl and i'm just going to separate it smooth these ones in the back. They'Re like this one in the back definitely did not come out. Okay, so i separated the curls. I don't know if i like this, i feel like i look like little orphan annie um, but i do like the curls. I just feel like my hair is way too short for this hairstyle, so i might have to like put it up or something i don't know. Maybe if i pick it out a little bit, but this is how the curls look separated. I probably would only wear this for a day today, but i'll probably definitely do this again. Once my hair is a little not a little a lot longer. I think i will get the results that i was like praying for in my head, but for you know it being my hair being short, i like it. I, like i like the curls. Let me say that i don't know if i pre, if i like the hairstyle, that much on me personally, but i do like the um, the curl. I do like the curl a lot, so let me come in a little closer. I think next time i'll probably use a different mousse and i will probably use that method. I did in the front um because the back didn't turn out the way that you know the front did, but it's okay, i'm done playing with it. But this is what the hair looks like.
