Do you, like my hair, No. [ Blonde Female ], Why It's like a weird, dumb, hair., ( upbeat rock music )? I have never ever ever had hair shorter than my shoulders.. I just want short hair. That'S super easy., Something that if I cut my hair like this, I can just go like this and this and then like that and then I'll be done.. I'Ve always been slightly self-conscious that I have a round face., So I've been afraid that shor hair will make me look really young.. If I could pull it off, I would love it. ( upbeat rock music ), Oh wow., Oh wow. Oh my God.. This is amazing.. Oh my God., I feel like I kind of look like my mom.. I don't look like my mom.. I thought I would feel a little bit more boyish, but I feel more womanly., I'm cute.. This looks great., I'm very ready for this week. We're here to see how my co-workers react for the first time to this. You look so good. Wait was. Is this People get made over into Kardashians. [ Voiceover ]? Are you thinking about having kids next [ Candace ]? Should I cut my hair, this short No., Hey you guys. Hey. Hey.. Do you like my new look, I didn't even notice.. Oh, my God, Caitlin. Where's, your hair, ( bleeping ), I wan na say like a grandma., I have had a lot of people. Tell me I look like a mom. Now I can see by bedhead and it's way chiller.. I felt this weird need to wear more makeup to maintain my femininity.. Nobody seems to think that this might be out of character for me.. Apparently it's like oh yeah. She would totally do something like that. Hi mom.. Did you put the wig on? No, it's my hair. You're such a liar.. Do you like it I've I, like the long better. There is a certain element of get up and go, but I also had to play with my bangs for a while.. I took my wig off okay.. I'M about to take hip-hop, class., (, hip-hop, music, ), So sweaty right, not., [ Girl in Black ]. I don't know how. Yeah. I don't know how it stayed on.. Why is being a mom, a bad thing And why do people freak out about that? So much I'll put it back on.. I look like a Beatle., I'm getting a little tired of it.. You want what you can't have and then you kind of miss what you did have.. I got the stomach virus. Last night. I left my wig at the office.. I can't do it it's not for me. That little girl back there said ,''. Are you a boy or a girl ?''? I know I said this morning that I missed my long hair, but I do think a part of me would miss this short hair to be honest.. People were either you look like my mom, or they said that I look very authoritative.. I'Ve always been kind of an old soul. So the fact that people were telling me that this made me look a little bit older, I just kind of like yeah.. I was expecting to feel this masculinity, but I could also feel really feminine. The second they found out. It was a wig. Suddenly they would express how much they really didn't. Like it. My boyfriend hated it., I could totally see cutting it all off at some point.. I don't think I'm gon na cut my hair, because I also think it's really fun to do stuff with long hair.. I don't think I could do it.. At least I know now. When I get older, I could kinda pull off short hair.. I feel, like I'm a more confident person, an just that I could rock whatever I want to rock and it doesn't really matter. And it doesn't really affect who I am.. I just woke up in the middle of the night and saw my wig and thought it was a person

I had to cut my hair short for medical reasons, and people automatically think i'm lesbian or trans. I hate it that people alienate what they don't know or understand. violinplayer101: I had a pixie cut and loved it...It made me feel more feminine, and was super easy to style (though I had to get used to taking a shower in the mornings, as I am usually a night-time showerer) The only REAL downsides for me were that I had to get it cut every 4 weeks, and growing it out is a bit of a pain.

Rachel Cantin: I can relate so much to what Candace said about wearing more makeup :( I used to have hair under my boobs and decided to give myself a buzzcut because my hair was really damaged due to me dying and bleaching my hair for the past two years and when I finally plucked up the courage to do it, I was suuuuper happy with the result and I actually got a LOT of compliments and it was great but I'm already not a really girly girl and getting my hair cut shorter just made me feel even masculine so I started wearing more makeup and tight clothes (keep in mind I used to be sort of a tomboy and used to wear baggy clothes) and I lost my whole appearance in just a couple of months and that made me lose ALL my confidence :(

borealis: I am a girl, two weeks ago I buzzed my hair off to donate to locks of love. I also raised money for an organization that is trying to find a cure for childhood cancer. I did it with 20 other girls and a couple boys at our school, because it was a school event. It's amazing, I feel more feminine and care free then I've ever been. Before I buzzed my hair, it was never shorter than my shoulders. It feels so amazing, people touch it all the time, but I don't mind. I also wear makeup but I wear the same amount as I used to. I feel more inclined to wear headbands earrings and scarfs though. I'm 15 by the way.

It seemed like they were just handed a wig, if they got to choose a style that appealed to them then I think the experiment would have gone a lot better. I personally thought that all three women looked amazing with short hair. I've had a pixie before and it was a great experience. I would definitely recommend it to any woman, plus it's so easy to style and maintain.

kennedy e: As a girl with a pixie cut, I find people's reactions in this video slightly offensive... The standards surrounding women are completely unfair, and we shouldn't have to meet them. I feel more comfortable and confident in short hair than I ever did with long hair, and that is what counts. The narrow-minded people who believe women need to wear dresses and have long hair to maintain their femininity are completely uninformed and just wrong. I feel that it's important to ignore negative comments, and wear whatever makes you feel happy.
Catie F: I've done both shot and long, from buzzcut (oops with a razor) to past my shoulder. I have actually had a period where I would get my hair cut mid summer since it felt too hot and then grow it out until the next year. I'm currently with long hair (2+ years with no short haircuts), and I miss the ease of short (washing/drying). Though with long hair I don't have to worry about getting it trimmed as often to keep it looking nice and I can put it up in ponytails and such.
