Styling My New Short Hair | Chill & Chat Grwm

Bringing you some new short doo hair Inspo!

I think I've referred to a previous hair tutorial as being "Carrie Bradshaw curls" but shit, your girl has a hard time thinking up titles and so we're just going with it! lol

Its been challenging to feel like I'm 100% myself when filming for youtube because I over think it and am always worried I'm "too chatty" lol But the last few videos have been such a breeze to film and I'm really starting to enjoy it:)

Thank you for all your continued support as I learn and grow on here, It's so appreciated and I'm truly forever grateful for all of you! Xo

Hi friends today I sit down and we would get experimental. I keep wanting to accentuate the hair in experimental. To make me like I don't know a play on words. Is that but anyways, I thought I would sit down with you guys, because this cut is still very new to me and I haven't really had a lot of chance to play around with it. I thought that I would sit with you guys and we would experiment and we would try new hairstyle, and so I want to give myself like these little, like I kind of like crimps but like bigger crimps, and so it almost looks like beet wavy. I'Ve not tried this before. I don't know how it's gon na go and fingers are crossed that it looks good. My hair gets big you guys. I'Ve got a lot of it, and so, when you crimp it or curl it it just automatically. Just goes up. So we will see how we can like manage with this. This is a fairly big like crimping type iron, so because my hair is so short, I'm not really sure how easy this is gon na be, but we are gon na maneuver through it. I'M gon na talk a little bit about the products that I'm gon na use and you know we're just gon na hang out. So to start, I'm just gon na take and section off my hair. I don't know if I'm gon na crimp like the lowest pieces, it just doesn't lay properly, and it just adds too much volume from the base. We'Re gon na start a little higher up and then go from there. And if these look really weird, then we'll deal with them, but for the most part I think that it's going to be just fine and I've never really picked you in terms of like my sectioning, I just go in, and I section it. I'Ve never really been a finicky person when it comes to my hair in general. I literally wing everything I do. I never really feel like I'm like going into it feeling super confident, but it's gon na come out. It'S always kind of a I've done this before, but we'll see how it turns out like this time, so I'm gon na grab like about an inch piece and I'm gon na start at the base. I'M not gon na leave it on for very long because I don't want it to be too intense, but I do want it to be there so whew, because it's such a thick like crimping one and it takes up so much of the hair. It'S gon na be hard to manage these end piece is we'll see what that comes out like I have no idea, I feel like I could have said which to like in all different pieces and it's gon na come out looking frazzled, no we're good we're good. I don't know what I'm gon na think of this, though I'm just gon na pull on it. So then, as it cools down, it's not like you know full body this. I I'm not sure we're not gon na judge it quite yet, but I'm gon na take the next piece of hair and instead I'm gon na like switch over like flip it upside down and crimp it the opposite way of the way that we crimped the first One and that way it's not gon na, be like all the same all around your head. Oh god, this isn't there bragging. Okay, we've got this crystal yeah. These any pieces is really gon na pretty questionable the husbands of my hair. Look, the back of the head is where things are about to get real tricky, especially for the end piece like I feel like there's some birds in store: okay, gosh. I hope buddy like this cuz. I have a dinner tonight with Justin's parents. They OS a dinner because we placed some bets at the beginning of this year regarding our diets and oh hello, hi I'll buzz you in my hair, awful buzzing people, the kids are on their way up: babe anyways. We had a bed at the beginning of this year, which is when I cut out sugar, and so we wanted to see who could like stick to their goals and like kind of sugar, the longest and like alcohol and whatever. And each individual person wanted to cut out and me and Justin ended up winning. I actually ended up winning. He just gets to reap the rewards of me winning, and so we are finally able to go for, like the nice dinner to celebrate good, so we're gon na take a little more hair down my kids just home. They were with their grandparents and, of course, I decided to sit down in film and got the phone call. The kids are on their way home. I was like yep that sounds about right. So now, when we go on top of this row, we are going to make sure that we go in the opposite way that we went in for these just so then those like crimps don't fall together. Oh that one came out a little wonky, but that's okay. We can work with it, we can work with it and then again we are alternating as we go through the rest and making sure that we are doing them like the crimps, the opposite way as we go through the rest of the hair on this layer. This could be huge, I don't know I'm on the fence. This could end up really huge or even end up really weird. I just keep kind of speeding through certain parts. There will be like little moments where we just kind of jump onto the next, just because a hair tutorials can take forever. If I'm like talking and showing you every piece getting crimp it just yeah, you guys would be sitting here for a long time. So I'm just gon na kind of zip through certain parts, definitely gon na be one of those ones where shit's gon na be crazy, cuz right now, with the amount of all you might have - and I still have quite a lot of hair up here to do. I'M starting to question what direction this is gon na go, but we are going to stay true to this path and see where it takes us because yeah this is, this could be fun. Oh man, I knew that was gon na happen. How can I fix you? There'S always one it's the hardest: I'm gon na hold it. So then it hopefully doesn't stay like that. If you guys ever have a questionable curl huh, then just take it as it's like kind of cooling down, just take it and pull on it and it'll, just kind of like unravel a little bit. It'Ll still hold the curl, but it's not gon na be as intense. I have received so much new makeup over the course of the last couple weeks and because on family vacation and then just briefly went on another little family. You know road trip. I haven't had a lot of time to play with my new makeup and I've definitely been favoring certain products and kind of like ending up sticking to my comfort zone, which I really need to like bust out, because there's some new stuff. I need to try. I'M really excited because it feels like fall is like coming through. I love fall makeup. I love like the deep vampy lips and the subtle eyes. I'M excited for those trends to start coming out. I'M so here is to see what the back is. Gon na look like because I've got that undercut, I don't know it might not be too bad, it might not be too bad. We didn't do that bottom layer, so I think that's gon na help, I'm so tired. Oh, are we really trying to like gauge how I'm feeling about this? Look as we proceed and I'm just I'm on a certain because I feel like in some ways it could be so so cute, but I feel like, even if it does look really like kind of like fun and chic. Getting like you know, super cute and whatever I feel like, it's still gon na feel weird leaving the house. Does anybody else have things like that where they like? You know, you love the way that it looks, but you would never leave the house with it. You know, like I remember when I first started playing with like dark colored lipsticks. I would wear them around the host, but I would never ever think about leaving the house with them. Like I love the way they looked, and I thought they were so beautiful. So flattering I felt like edgy and like cool, and but I would never leave the house in it and every time I did. I just felt like everybody's staring at me and super self-conscious, and so I feel like there's a lot of people out there who this struggle is real. You have like a style that you kind of wish that you could just like we're outside of the house and like rock and feel confident in, but every time you do try you're like. Oh, this is weird. No. I can't do this, so I feel, like I missed something on one of these layers. We are just and get this guy in line. Justin fell asleep on the couch, but I just couldn't see what he thought of me. I was gon na be like a baby and see what his reaction was gon na, be because that's usually a pretty good way to gauge whether or not it's good or bad. He thinks he's a good liar he's awful. Someone requested that I do like the really like pin tight curls, and so I will definitely sit down and experiment with you guys again god. I wish that came off better experiment harriman. I want to shoot another like talk-through tutorial for you guys, because I want to try and get like more content up here. On my youtube, I would like to upload two times a week. That'S definitely my goal. If I can do three, that would be ideal, but to for now is kind of like what I feel like I can manage, especially given that I am so active on my Instagram as well, and that is where I see a majority of my income from is Actually, my Instagram, so it is where I spend a lot more of my. You know energy and attention it's just kind of trying to figure out what it is that I can manage, and I think two times a week is definitely doable. I really suck at talking, while I do things just because I get so distracted and I can't really seem to do anything at the same time - I'm not very good at multitasking certain things and that's just one of them. I recently posted a hair tutorial to my Instagram after I cut my hair, and I received quite a few DMS from people saying you know like. If you want your hair to be healthy, you should really avoid using a heating and like styling tools. I do avoid them when I can, however, because they do work on social media. It is very difficult right now, with the length of my hair. It'S just kind of difficult to just kind of like work around, not styling it not using heating tools. I just try really hard like to avoid doing it as much as I can, but I mean all it is what if it I mean. Basically, all of the blonde that I have left on my head is pretty fried, and so it's not as blonde and like you know that I would typically like it to be. But the reason why I had to do the big chop and the reason why you know like I'm having to like let my hair be, is because of the blonde and how it like damaging bleaches. And so I'm not gon na be doing my roots or like touching my hair, with any bleach of any kind for quite some time until my hair is fully just like natural and all mine. I do have hair that grows fairly quickly, and so I know that it's not gon na be as long and painful as I kind of I'm dreading, but it's just one of those things that I haven't had actual brown hair since, like I don't know when me And Justin first start dating I'd, probably say easily ten years ago. I definitely prefer myself with blonde domaine hair, but I'm gon na have to you know just suck it up and you know find ways to rock my new do last piece: friends: alright, let's get in there we're gon na try and just do like one long piece. How was your morning, did you go to Grandma's whole Island? No, oh, did you guys just stay at Grandma and Grandpa's? Oh okay! Alright, you guys so I'm gon na take my Redken. This is the wax blast. 10. I use this all the time and I'm just gon na kind of spritz that through and do kind of like these sort of motions where I'm like crunching my hair in together. This is just gon na help to kind of bring some texture back to the pieces that have been sitting for a moment as well as it's also gon na, have help to add, like some volume and really lift those those crimps. I'M not sure if this is ultimately what we want, but it's what we're going for it's act. I don't know I kind of like it. This isn't bad this, it's getting better! It'S getting better! I think a huge part of making a style like this work is just placement, and so, when it comes to like crimping my hair curling, my hair, I always just like, spend a lot of time focused on the placement of the curls and kind of where they're Laying and like play with some product to really like help it work with what I want, and I think that the more we kind of break out those crimps and make them look a little bit more tousled tousled tousled, the better. They look and I'm actually really really liking this. I don't know if this style would have been better. If I did do that bottom piece, I don't know how noticeable it is. Is it like weirdly noticeable that this parts straight? Maybe isn't it? Oh god. I don't know to crimp it I feel like. Maybe I should crimp a little bit more of it. We'Re gon na pull some of this up and just crimp some of these bottom pieces. That'S what we're gon na do. The good thing is these: lower layers are so small that, basically one crimp will do you, you don't need to go in and do the bottom trying to do like fit in two crimps is a little bit difficult and it might actually be better if I just Focus the crimp to the bottom of the hair, where you notice it through the bottom versus going all the way up to the root where you're, not even really gon na, see it and it's gon na have volume by crimping it like that. I think that might be good. Oh yeah, that's much better for sure. Okay, now we're gon na fix this side. I think that this short style encourages me to play with it a little bit more just because you know you're kind of forced to style your hair. When it is this length, you can't really get away with just leaving it. It can be a little bit wild and crazy looking, but I do like that, it you know, makes me feel like I want to get up and do something to it as I'm pushing up into my hair, I'm kind of like doing an action like this. With my fingers - and that's just gon na help to kick up some curl up on the side because pays with this look, you kind of want to add some more volume up top and have the volume kind of like properly dispersed throughout the look Justin. What do you think of what my dear do you actually like it yeah? I got my answer. I feel like it's, not it's not as favorite. Definitely not as favorite. I feel like this is one of those styles that you know you kind of have to be wearing the right outfit and like the right vibe of everything, but I don't hate it. I'M I'm! Okay! With this, this looks really kind of fun and cute and different. If you guys would suggest any way to make it look better, I don't know if this is something that you guys have tried yourselves or you know, if you guys have any suggestions for me on ways to style my new short hair, because I am open to Suggestions, thank you so much for coming to hang out with me.
