Thank you so much for watching!! Make sure to leave any video requests in the comments!

Hey guys today, I filmed this really fun faux hawk hairstyle for you. I posted a picture of this hairstyle on Instagram a little while back and I have never received so many requests to film a tutorial before so I knew I needed to get this up as quickly as I could so I finally filmed it for you. It does take a little bit of patience to do this hairstyle, but it's not hard to do this hairstyle. So I hope you enjoyed um a few things that I used that I recommend you have. If you want to do this hairstyle and have an easier time. You'Re definitely going to need some elastics. I do want to point out. I have the clear ones here and since my hair is blonde, I feel like it works. Just fine. I'Ve noticed that using these on darker hair, they can sometimes look a little bit more noticeable. So if you have darker hair and you're wanting to try this, I recommend getting a darker colored band. I also have a couple of these little double Clips. I think, is what they're called I don't know. I just got them from Sally's one of the best things that I have bought to style. My hair would because they're just so helpful and useful, and then I also highly recommend that you get one of these little teasing combs again. I think this may have come from Sally's. I don't remember you can find these anywhere. I actually don't love this kind of teasing comb with these boar bristles to actually tease my hair, but it's really great for smoothing out the hair, and this is what I use and you'll see in the tutorial to kind of get this a little bit more smooth. As I'm going so um and then also obviously a good can of hairspray, so I hope you enjoyed. Let me know if you have any questions. If you want to see how I did this hairstyle, then just keep on okay. I'Ve already brushed through my hair make sure it's free of tangles. The first thing I want to do is grab this little front section of hair here. I first want to tease this a little bit and just make sure that it has some volume and then we're going to put an elastic in it. I'M just going to grab one of these little clips and kind of put it back here. I find that that kind of helps, because I know that sometimes when you use these little elastics, it can be hard not to get a bunch of hair that you're not intending into your little band. Now I want to bring this up and out of the way I'm just going to gently clip it to the little pouf. Now we want to start grabbing sections to pull up. I try to keep these sections pretty small. I find that longer hair can get away with taking larger sections, but when I was testing out this style, I found that if I took bigger sections there, just wasn't enough of the little bumps and it didn't look quite right to me. So I like to do lots of smaller sections, I'm just going to try to smooth everything up as best I can. You also want to get this as tight as you can, because you can see. Some of these hairs are they're. Just short, I have short hair. So they're not going to go up as easily as long hair and also if any of these hairs are not quite stayin up. We will have some hairspray in the end that we can kind of glue them in place with okay. Once again, I'm going to grab an extra little clip here, pull that back and just secure these two pieces. Okay, now you can let down this piece we're going to split it into two, just like that, grab this other piece and pull it in between those and then we're going to clip this to the front, and these are going to go back here before we tie These we're going to add more hair to it, just like we did, and this is exactly what you're doing the whole time. It'S very repetitive just repeating these steps. Over and over again you now, when you're trying to smooth this out, I try to get it as smooth as I can. You can really work at that and get it super perfect if you'd like for me, I'm just not going to be that concerned with it. So I'll leave that up to you how perfect you want it to look, but just try to smooth it out as best you can you all right, so you can see here, we've got our two little pieces and then we've got a lot of these short hairs In the back, so now it's going to become a bit more difficult to get everything in there um. I might be able to go one more time. Let me think about it. Okay, I am I'm going to go one more time, just like we've been doing, because I think I can make that work okay, so some of these hairs are going to be falling down. That'S okay! We'Re going to use our trusty hair spray to do our best with that, so I'm just bringing it low kind of below where we just joined that last little loophole. I guess you could say, and on this part I don't really do a total messy bun, because you can't there's not really any hair right there. So I just kind of pull it through a little bit and let it be pokey and do whatever. Okay. Now I know we have like this hair kind of we're going to fix that in just a bit first before we use any hairspray, or do anything like that, because I've got flyaways here that we can smooth out. We want to start loosening these up, and you want to sort of take your time with this, because you want to look good. You want it to look voluminous um you're, also going to have to really watch out for your layers, because, even if you don't have a layered haircut, when you start pulling all these short hairs back like that, it's going to create layers as you go back and You probably definitely saw that, as I was putting in the elastic bands, so take your time with this grab your mirror. Look behind you make sure you can see what you're doing I'm probably going to do a lot of this off camera, because sitting here, I can't see the back of my head, but that's all I'm doing is creating a lot of volume and just pulling these out. You want to look at what your style is looking like from the front and then also from the side, because I think that what kind of makes this so cute is kind of the fauxhawk. Look you get from the side. Okay, I have taken time to stretch these out a little bit now we want to use our hair spray, so this is where this teasing comb comes in real handy. You can see. These are just really falling down, feel free to pin these. If you need to that's, not a problem, I'm going to just stick it up and hit it with the spray really well. Okay, now for the rest of this, I'm going to lightly hit it and then just take this comb and smooth it down. You want to be gentle about this because you don't want to ruin the hairstyle if you're super rough with it you're going to mess it up and of course you can use your hands okay now, the first time I did this hairstyle and the photo I posted On Instagram, I did not hairspray the back like this and it all stayed much better than it. Staying today that has happens when I film it always looks better when I'm not filming it, but that's fine um. It stayed much better. I just had like a tiny hair that was falling down on one of the sides, but today you could see. I had a lot more falling down, so we're going to have some crispy hairspray hair back here but, like I said, if you didn't want to do that, much hairspray, just bobby, pin it okay. So this is the finished hairstyle. Let me do a quick 360 of it. Okay, that is it for this tutorial. I hope you enjoyed and I will see you in my next video bye
