How I Style My Short Hair - Flat Iron Waves

Hi guys, i'm martha, welcome back to my channel today is a long awaited. Video i've been meaning to do a freaking hair waving tutorial forever and to those of you that don't want to watch youtube. I'M sorry that it's not on instagram, but not really, because i like youtube better, but i feel like this is just gon na, be like a better format to watch the whole streamlight process, because i can talk about it. Even though it's pretty easy and then this is very permanent, like easy space to find the video, if someone asks so, i'm gon na show you how i wave my hair um. Obviously i have it in a clip right now, but let's see what it looks like. Naturally, not that great, it's a little dirty and i had it like half up today, so i'm gon na use the day, hair brush this hair brush is really good. I always use like a wet uh, the wet brand hair brush, but this one i got from them and at first i was like i don't know i kind of feel like it's pulling my hair, but it has like all like the mix of the bristles in There you see, i'm saying so: it's actually super soft on your hair and i don't use any other hair brush now. This is my hair brushed out. I took a shower two days ago. I think, and i let it air dry and it when it air dries day of the air dries like pretty nice. It gets like kind of wavy in the back um and it gets a little wavy on top, but it doesn't really like. If i sleep on it, it goes away, so i use a straightener shocker. This thing is old, like i kind of wanted to buy a new one before i did this video, because i want to try the t3 or whatever i'm still using this, and it still works great, so this hair has not been touched by heat. Yet i pretty much just like split it up into different sections. Just wait hold on, so i'm trying to make the house really cute. I have a new vlog coming up about that and all of a sudden i go downstairs, and there is the ugliest new bench in the living room and like i can't even look at it. It like hurts my eyes to look out honestly. I text the pluto and i was like i got ta devise a plan to get it out of here, so i'm living with three boys, so i don't think scotty's gon na, like it either he's not home right now. So i'm curious when he gets home, but i texted him and he just replied and was like oh man, but like i'm trying to make this place look gorge and my planet got ruined by this ugly bench. So i got ta figure out how to get it out of there had to see what he said. So we are going to split it up. I'M gon na do mostly like the back part first and then i leave out like hardly anything right there. Okay, i'm gon na do my best to explain this process. Just hang in there with me we're gon na take this one tiny one, and i kind of sometimes straighten it like this first and then for this. I literally just bend it back and drop it and you kind of just like see what happens this one's a little curly for me, but we're just gon na leave it for now, and the back is like hard for me to reach. So i don't always get it perfect like that one. I did like a little half half girl here i'll just twist. It backwards, okay and then this one i'll do it on like the lower part of the hair. So i don't get too much of a curl drop. It um, like you, said it's already, usually a little wavy back here, so i don't really mess with that as much and then just twist it back and out and i kind of drop it. I don't always leave like the last bit in it just depends on like like because i wave other parts of my hair differently, so you guys will see that and then sometimes i like to like flip them, the other way. Let'S take this one and i'll flip it towards my face just to like mix things up a bit and then here go backwards and honestly the back. The back is never perfect, like the back of my hair kind of looks like a show. Sometimes that's just the way it is okay. Moving on to the next part, i don't want like too much hair out, because then sometimes i feel like the waves, like don't look as good, so i'll. Take like a piece of this back so like this one's like a little bit wavy. So i'm just gon na leave it, and then i pull like this one forward and i don't want him to be really curly, so i'm just gon na like that's it and it just kind of flips and you do it in the middle. It just makes the bottom flip out here: i'm gon na. Do it a bit different, so you take it and you bend it at the top, and you see how you get that and then now i'm gon na just curl the bottom part down and like flatten. It a little bit and you get that perfect wave, but then we don't want them all to look too perfect. So then we take this one. I feel like that and then maybe like this piece that i said i didn't want to touch i'm going to curl the bottom hem in a little bit, so it like balances the flips. So already that's looking pretty good, pretty natural just twist it this one's already. Curled, so i'm just going to curl it under more okay, so you see how this one like flipped out, i'm just gon na. Let him roll like that, and just like curl him up to make it look more purposeful, and then this one this is a natural curl. So i'm just gon na leave that i'm gon na move on to the next level. So you can get a quick look. This is what it looks like okay. So now i just have like the very very top layer that i'm going to pull out as i get to the more top layers. I don't like it to be too perfect. Sometimes i will curl like a really small piece at a time to give it like a less oh. I just called my hair look but like for this one. We'Re gon na do the bend again, so you take it, you bend it. It might have been a little too close. Okay, so you bend it and then you kind of go to the middle down part, and you just do another thing. So it's like a bend and a bend. That side has been waved. So again, i'm just going to twist this one back. Also, my hair straightener heat is at 4 30. I think it used to be a little bit more strong. So now it's not quite as strong, so i turn it up a bit higher. Okay, now we're gon na flip this curl, the bottom under for some reason. This side, these pieces stick out a lot, so i'm gon na take them and just like try to curl them down. Okay, let's see what that looks like now, for you guys, you can see it much better. Okay, i feel like i'm the most particular about the pieces around my face. They kind of already take shape naturally, but i just like to enhance it a little bit and really not make it look overdone at all so sometimes i'll. Take like the thick part or i'll. Do it in like smaller pieces, but i'm feeling like thicker, it's gon na be better today, so i just like, maybe straighten a little bit in the middle and then i just put like a slight bend in the middle and i drop it and that's literally it. Okay, let's take this one because it kind of leans on the back and the front, and then these little guys, let's just curl them - to make them a little bit more pc. I feel like this process is really easy. A lot of people always ask like, and i feel like you just have to get used to it like it's definitely kind of hard at first or it's just awkward like if you're not used to curling with the flat iron. I feel like the girl's gon na, get it and the girls don't um, like even hair stylist like i know my hair stylist. She, like is like, i, don't know how to curl with a flat flat iron, but i have a friend, that's a hairstylist and she like taught me the like, bend and bend way, and that was like a big game. Changer, but honestly, silas have always used flat. Irons to curl my hair, because when i use a curling iron, i literally look like shirley temple. So that's nice. Let'S do the bend again. So i like how they all follow the same line like that and then i'm just gon na take this one and then maybe give him more of a twist to balance the look. Okay, so quick view, this is a finished side and this is the undone side. I feel like this length of my hair right now is really good to curl when it's shorter, it can be a lot more difficult or i usually like. Let it air dry more and i don't wave it as much so this length is good because you get like the double weight instead of just like the one and all your hair flips out, if you have short short hair, i also have struggled with that. So i know your pain, let's do the front this. Is it and then what i do is just kind of like, especially this this side. I will like fluff up a little bit with my fingers. We need some dry shampoo because yo girls looking greasy and i feel like it's such a game changer for blondes it just like brightens your hair. When you use dry shampoo. I will say this is probably my favorite one, the christmas dry shampoo, but i'm out of it right now and my backup is the living proof perfect hair day. I feel like it has the same effect as that one, so i just start going for it. This one's about to run out too i just let it sit for like a hot. Second, it's a little like misty in here now you just yeah, rub it into your scalp and whatnot, and there you have it guys. I'M gon na put some oil on my ends. Sometimes i use a texture spray which i can show you just so you know like what it is. These two are my favorites. This one's obviously almost gone. This one makes your hair like pretty sticky, so i feel like this is something i use more in the summer time or just like when it's warm out to, like you know, give texture because, like my hair gets sticky fast, so i feel like i like to Like only use it at certain times, but this is the way wave spray and then kristen s again the beach wave spray. This is a similar like salty product, but it doesn't make your hair tacky, like the other. One does, and i feel like it, also brushes out the next day i'll just like use a little bit. It kind of acts like hairspray, there that's perfect, and then i like a little bit of oil. These are my two favorites, these little honey infused hair oil. In the day, hair oil, i feel like they're both different. This one is just like it. May it honestly changed. My hair, like i feel like i had pretty brittle hair at one point, and this like is such a game changer. This one smells amazing, but if i do put too much on then like sometimes it's not as good, but i do feel like this. One gives your hair a good slip, whereas this one's more like nourishing um, but i'm gon na use a little bit of this. Just because my hair is like a little dry on the ends, i usually use like a lot of oil on my hair, just because i bleach it but yeah like that's not enough. I could use more and underneath is pretty fuzzy and dry. So i put oil on it to secure the hair and there you have it. That'S the look. I hope it's easier than you expected, i'm not sure um, please.
