From curls to shags, to oh, my God, the Rachel we tapped the experts to reveal the hottest hairstyle trends for 2020.. It looks like a good bob. Never goes out of style., The iconic hairstyle gained popularity back in the'60s, and it shows no signs of stopping.''. Is it too short, ?''''? No !''''? Where did my hair go ?''? In fact, 2020 is going to be the biggest year yet for the classic look. Natalie, James, CEO and owner of Vent Blow Dry Bar, says ,''. All different styles of bobs are coming back and in a big way.. Bobs are great and easy to manage, wash and go.''. While a bob is a sure bet for the new year. It'S not something you just wan na dive right into, especially if you're, starting with long hair. For a no-regrets approach. James says ,''. We recommend a slow transition…starting with a longer style. Bob first.'''', Don't worry about that.'''' Sure.'' Bobs aren't the only retro cut predicted to reign supreme in 2020. Master colorist and artistic director Linsey Barbuto claims. We should expect a blast from the past saying ,''. As we approach a new decade, we are going to see some fun cuts come back from the 1970s and 1980s.''. Surprisingly, the iconic shag is expected to make its triumphant return., But Barbuto says it's been reinvented. With more `` layers and textures.'', She added ,'', This will be an updated, more sophisticated look from the metal'80s hair.''''. I think it's nice to frame your face.'' Barbuto says this style works well with all sorts of face: shapes., Jessica, Puglia, hair, stylist and owner of The Hair Mansion agrees, saying ,'' Short or long. A shag haircut can and will work for almost anyone !''. Even if you didn't rock it the first time around, you now have a second chance to slay one of the most famous hairstyles of the'90s.''. I mean Jennifer Aniston has amazing hair. Seriously.. Let'S just start with that.'' Natalie James says: ,'' The'90s are back in a big way.. We'Re going to see. The'90S trend continue into 2020 with [ The Rachel ] cut, coming back heavy layers, fringes, [ and ] minimal styling.''. While it might be a surprise that this style has returned, no one is more shocked than Friends: star Jennifer, Aniston herself.. She told Allure ,''. I love [, my hairstylist Chris McMillan ] and he's the bane of my existence at the same time because he started that. Damn Rachel, which was not my best look.. How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut I've ever seen.''''. He was loaded when he gave me the haircut. This is true.. He didn't think about, like ,'Oh she's gon na have to do this herself.''', But plenty of fans were obsessed with the look and The Rachel become the staple haircut of the decade. And, as we all fall in love with the rebooted look once again in 2020, we Can only wonder if Aniston will embrace her iconic style once again., At least on other people.'', The Rachel haircut.. It was like the haircut and I'm pretty sure, like no TV show since has had a haircut named after it.''. If you didn't embrace micro fringe when it was hot back in 2018, this season is the perfect time to try it. Odile Gilbert, the hairstylist behind Emma Watson's baby, bangs, told Vogue, Australia ,'', I think baby bangs are always in fashion. It can be long or short. [, hair ], depending on the face., It's always cute and young, it's very French.. I guess it's very charming.'', But before you grab the scissors, we all know that with bangs. This short there's no pulling them back or off to the sides. If you feel like changing your look., If you wan na dip a toe into the pool without getting wet, Gilbert recommends trying out fake bangs to get a feel for the style.''. I cut my actual hair.''. In addition to little bangs Jessica Puglia says long. Bangs are gon na be hot for 2020., But, as always, she reminds prospective fringe fans. :'' Ask your stylist to create the best bang for your face shape.''''. It definitely is a lot more work., So I would caution anyone considering to cut their bangs.'' Samantha Stonehouse senior stylist at Canada-based, Cowlick Salon, says square-shaped faces often look best with soft bangs that hit at the temples. And heart and round-shaped faces can often pull off. Basically, anything. Stonehouse explained that bangs draw attention to the area of the face where they end telling Chatelaine ,'', Flattering: bangs should frame and focus on your positive features, not overwhelm or cover up your face.''''. You should try it sometime.. It'S like a cleanse for, like your face.'''' They're bangs. They're great. Congradaritos.'' Get ready to break out your best O.G. Charlie's Angels.''. Everybody knows Charlie's Angels.. Of course They were like the first badass b, -- -- -es.. If I can say that.'', Linsey Barbuto says ,'', The Farrah Fawcett feathered layers will be the ultimate cut for 2020.. The long layers [ work, ] great for all types of hair and great for longer, hair, as it adds body and bounce.'' Celebrity hair, stylist Ted Gibson told HuffPost that in the'70s Farrah Fawcett was the star who introduced women to a softer way of wearing their hair. And, according to Allen, Edwards the stylist behind Fawcett's iconic cut the look calls for shorter layers around the face.. He told Stylelist ,''. What made it different was that it wasn't full on top.. It was flatter and the'Farrah' part was the edges which went flipping back.''. In addition to those iconic layers, this cut truly comes to life, depending on how you style, it. Gibson, explained ,'' Use a large barrel, curling iron in one-inch sections away from the face to achieve a modern interpretation [ on ], her look.'' And, of course, don't forget. You'Ll be needing all of the hairspray., This season's all about symmetry., At least when it comes to your part. Jessica. Puglia says: ,'' Middle parts are back putting a spin on the'70s straight look.''. Right now you may be picturing super long hair to go with that center. Part. But Edward Tricomi, hairstylist and co-founder of Warren Tricomi Salons says he expects'' shoulder length'' cuts to be popular in 2020.. Sanda Petrut hairstylist at Maxine Salon in Chicago also predicts that ``, medium length'' cuts will be a hot go-to style.. Thankfully, your doesn't need to be very long to pull off the look. Frank James, Dibrino, hairstylist and owner of New York-based Twisted Bangz Salon says that anything from a super short pixie to a layered bob will be quote: `` rockin' it big time with center parts.''''. Think I'm ready. Woo, Where we going tonight ?'' Super short'dos, are coming back in a big way., Chicago-based Sanda Petrut says these micro cuts read as fresh and fun and conjure the confidence to quote `` help women to think bold.''. Looking ahead to the warmer spring and summer months, Frank James Dibrino, says ,'' Short, chic and sassy…topped off with cool fun. Colors will be making a splash for [ the ] summer.''''. It felt nice to cut all my long hair off and go to short hair.''. Of course, you don't need to wait until it gets hot to rock a shorter style.. The pixie cut, which was popular in late 2019, will just keep going strong all year, according to Cecelia Morales, from StyleCraft U.S. And Marius Morf owner of PREP salon in San Francisco. Also feels strongly that the pixie will be a 2020 favorite. If you're already doing a soft layered pixie, you can up the ante in 2020 by changing the way you style, it., Sanda, Petrut, predicts. ,'' Short hair is more versatile than you think and is going to be in for 2020, especially when worn with a slick. Gelled look.'', The slicked-back pixie, was in back in 2014 and 2015 and we're beyond excited to see it, making a comeback. Celebrity hairstylist and columnist. Jen Atkin told Elle magazine ,'', The look is very sleek and chic.. It portrays sophistication and confidence as the hair is off the face.''''. I'M gon na show you a fresh look for the new year.'' Hairstylist Michael Dueñas explained how to get the bold style telling Refinery29 you begin by misting your hair with water.. Next rub a `` liberal'' amount of high-shine pomade between your hands and run your fingers through your hair. Then give your hair a deep side part and begin combing. Your hair back with a wide-toothed comb. Finish the look with hairspray and you're ready to take on the world. If you're, sick of straightening or chemically-treating your hair and have been dreaming of rocking your natural texture, 2020 is going to be your year.. Marius Morf predicts cuts that showcase curly tresses are going to be the thing this season. Additionally StyleCaster reported that natural hair was all over the runway for New York Fashion Week's Spring 2020 lines, proving that natural hair is going to be a serious hair trend throughout the Year. - And we can all agree, it's about time.'' Okurr.'', If you usually get your haircut with a straightened style in mind. Just let your hairstylist know you plan to wear your hair in its natural state.. You may also want to consider booking an appointment at a salon that specializes in curly hair. With that you can have your locks cut in a way that really lets natural hair shine.''. I love it because it's just natural and it's me and it's big and I love it.'' In 2020. All sorts of protective cuts and styles are expected to dominate. Frank James, Dibrino says ,'', Braids, braids and more braids will adorn the hair fashion trend for 2020 and they will be accessorized with fabric headbands scarves and trinkets. Cornrows and Zulu knots surrounded by loose curls and Romantic waves will be a pop culture trend, especially on ethnic hair.'''' There's, so many different forms of beauty out there and it's important to show them. All.'' Zulu or Bantu knots may be more popular in 2020, but celebrities like Rihanna have been rocking the look since 2016.. Of course, the style didn't originate with the celebrity set. Record of the hairstyle dates all the way back to 1898. According to Ebony magazine. And Naturally Curly's branded content, editor Gerilyn Hayes told the outlet ,'' Bantu knots also are known as Zulu knots, because the Zulu people, a Bantu ethnic group, are the originators of the look. We love and wear today. Bantu knots are a visual reminder of the origins of humanity which may intrinsically be a key to their charm.'', Since these knots are also a protective style, they're perfectly-suited for naturally curly locks.. While you may see more medium-length cuts in 2020, long hair isn't exactly going out of style., But instead of lengthy layers, Edward Tricomi says to expect quote `` long blunt cuts, [ cut ] straight across.'', Celebrity hair, stylist, Mark Townsend, told Real Simple ,'' For years and Years, it was all about layers., Then around 2015 those layers evolved into even more of a modern shag.. It'S only normal that, as these shags and layered lobs grew out, ladies, would want a fresh start. By chopping off their ends. The blunt trend was started.''''. Time is money. You come with. Me.'' Townsend explained that giving your ends a blunt chop not only looks chic. It helps improve the health of your hair.. He added ,'', So many girls are holding onto these scraggily ends, but as soon as they go blunt, it's like they're, a new woman !'' The year 2020 is going to be a welcome change of pace for those of us who want to show off our natural Hair with a new cut, but no matter what look you choose? There'S no reason you can't fake your length. Edward Tricomi proclaims, ,'' Extensions will be trending, …We'll, be seeing a lot of extension, bangs, ponytails, tape-in extensions and clip-ins.'' Extensions are for sure a growing worldwide trend. Who wouldn't want to quickly switch up their look. According to industry reports by 2023, the global hair, extensions and wigs market is expected to exceed $ 10 billion in revenue., And it's easy to see why they're becoming so popular. Celebrity hairstylist, Priscilla Valles says as long as you use them correctly. Extensions won't damage your natural hair., Clip-in, sew-in, glue-in and tape-in extensions all last for around two months. According to the Valles who told Good Housekeeping ,'', I have clients who have had extensions for 15 years, [ and ] every 6 weeks. We remove them and put them back, in.'', Hey whatever it takes to rock your look. Check out one of our newest videos right here, Plus even more List. The List: Which of these haircuts do you hope don't make a comeback in 2020?

Lily Barry: This doesn’t sound like any trends... it’s like they listed every hair style that exists soooo basically any hair cut you want is in....

Abbey Soandso: The list: “everyone is going to chop their hair off” Also The List: “the extensions market is going to skyrocket”

Caroline Laronda: Baby bangs are like having a baby . Once you do it there’s gonna be about a 9 month wait for relief and there’s no going back when it’s done

Robin Lage: Sticking with my naturally curly hair. Done with all the hair trends and straightening.

Rozayna Jammal: bobs are NOT wash and go. they require styling every day. short hair is high maintenance

Pop Mary: I’m not into “fashionable” or following trends ... I love it on others... but I think for me I go for timeless styles

Serious Sam: So basically: short, long, medium, extensions, bangs, no bangs, natural, braids, loose, slik back, put up, put down, layers, no layers, blunt, soft... I'll just go to my hairdresser and tell him : I don't know man...you do you...you do freakin you... ‍♀️

DaughterOfTheKing: “It’s very French” so y’all think that us French people walk around with baby bangs while eating a baguette?!

yajirelley: I just got a shoulder length modern shag at the beginning of December and I friggin LOVE it ❤️

fruitmonsterfly1: Natural hair is not a trend. It’s how it naturally grows out of our heads. That’s like saying eating is a trend for humans.

Pamela A: So basically, all hair styles are a go for 2020! ‍♀️

Dayanna Cosme Figueroa: Everything is in style everyone is going by what inspires them and looks good on them

Mihaela Jermilova: Bob is great for people with really straight hair or defined curls. I cut my wavy hair into a bob recently and I beyond regret it because if I just "wash and go" I look like I'm part of the Hanson Brothers.

Brooke: So excited for some 80s looks. Definitely want to switch up my hair to the shaggy look.

Rebecca G: Here’s a summary of this video... a bunch of quotes from celebrity hairstylists with a wide range of opinions confirm that any style other than the mullet will be acceptable in 2020, so go ham.

Teri Martinez: I had the Rachel, rocked the crap outta it! You’ve got to have somewhat thick, fine hair, if it’s coarse, forget it. I used a huge roll brush and paddle brush... it was one of my easier styles! But my hair naturally wants to flip once it hits my collar. Then once it gets too long, cut off the fringy flips, voila bob!

shannilovely: So basically you can wear your hair however, and it’ll be in style. How helpful

maeflower522: In 2019 I went from cutting my hair into a pixie to having tape-in extensions. I've been on trend all along lol

Kylee: I finally just grew my bangs out from my last mental break down and now they’re gonna be in style. I can never win

LAZARA NOVOA: It’s funny how long hair will be out of style, but not hair extension

Angels Beauty: glad to see us curly girls can embrace our curly hair again

helen yvonne e: Wow, I've been ahead of fashion lately. I've done the bob, the modern shag, baby bangs, the blunt cut and chopping all of it off too. My hair has gone through so many revolutions, I find switching up my hair so much fun

12MonMon 12Ag: Natural hair isn't really a hair trend, it's just em.... regular....hair

Reggie Reg: So pretty much every style in existence will be popular

Sophia B.: Noone will ever convince me of going short. I love having longer hair than most people :)

🍁👩🏻‍🦰🦊🧡🍂: My teacher has had "the Rachel" hair cut since before Jennifer Aniston did and she still has it so... ahead of her times

Love Story: I think the real bob-haircut ERA was 2008 & 2009. Love and miss this time and style

Sheila Dyck: I had the Farrah cut in High School in the 1970's and I KNEW it was going to come back again some day!!!

Crystal: the bob gained popularity in the 20s actually, but okay

SO NONI: Does anyone else notice that the same trends keeping cycling more than once or twice in a decade? None if these things feel very fresh at all.

Linda G: Loving the natural thing. I've got natural waves so that'll be easy. I just don't get the chopping it off and adding extensions?? WTH?? About a year ago I wanted to go back to the Rachel cut and the hair dresser basically laughed me right out of the salon with, " You want a 20 year old hair style? Why?? I said thank you and goodbye quickly... So much for everything's in!

sandra boeing: *Wearing your natural curly/ kinky hair is NOT a TREND*

Wicked Liz: You know who else had baby bangs? Yeah it was Frankenstein! Those are Frank-n-bangs people lol

Meli Patoco: So, basically EVERYTHING will be in style in 2020

Dawn de los Muertos: Anyone ever think that the only reason these styles are "popular for 2020" is because they are telling us that? How about wearing your hair the way YOU want to instead of the way some "famous" stylist says this is what's popular? I've always hated trendy anything, think for yourself.

SilverKitty: bobs are NOT easy to manage!

Jo. E.: So basically everything is going to be on trend...

saparamita: So basically everything is trendy in 2020 I can’t think about any haircut that they didn’t mention

Amanda Miklja: Both the pixie and the short bob were popular in the 1920's actually. 100years later and it's back ‍♀️

Deneen Spidel: I’m going Molly Ringwald, breakfast club ASAP. I’m actually getting a perm to facilitate the fullness etc. Including copper colouring. Good to know I will be totally out of style and zero chic. Big hair is back for me!

cj222100: I had the Rachael back in the 90s lol! Personally, I liked the look of it. But I'd never do it again because it was a pain in the ass to style

RubyOpheliaQuinn: Bobs came in to style in the 1920s, they were a huge revolution because before that women had always had long hair.

Andrea Viola: So I was always told that if you want to stand out ...do the opposite of what everyone else is doing....so I'll be growing my hair long with long layers.

Ingrid Vanessa Mosquera: I've literally have had all these haircuts/styles at some point my life except for the bantu and cornrows hairstyles. Right now I'm rocking my somewhat grownout pixie cut

togwm: About time they brought the Farrah foxy fab layered look back!

Joseph Grajeda: Oh, nice! Soooo basically EVERYTHING is in style! Perfect thanks!

Eli Kennedy: If you want to skip and just see the looks click at the time stamps: The bob is back | 0:14 The modern shag | 0:57 The Rachel | 1:34 Itty bitty baby bangs | 2:41 Long bangs | 3:16 Farrah-style layers | 3:59 Straight down the middle | 4:51 The pixie | 5:32 Slicked-back wet look | 6:08 Natural-born cut | 6:55 Braids, cornrows, and Bantu knots | 7:40 Blunt cuts | 8:37 Extensions for 2020 and beyond | 9:16

tanha sudheer: In 2020 Everything is beautiful and trendy baby!! loving 2020 already

The Peasant's Daughter: I’m just here slowly growing my hair as long as it will go without looking ratty.

Alia Elborai: "In 2020 any possible type of haircut will be sooo stylish" Thanks for enlightening me, i'm a complete different person now

Rissa A: Yeah these are unoriginal but I had fun watching this. Keeping my long, straight, thick hair forever!

Lana: Is it wrong to already have the Rachel in 2019

Lisa Mcdonald: Pixies...when you are either stunningly beautiful or don't give an f how you look.

Pie Ja Jessica: - So basically whatever hair style that you are having right now is in TREND! ‍♀️

Nevimr: ok but when is long hair on men making a come back? I want that 80' rocker look

EvaS: Yep, ill buzz my hair down in the next two months. Can't wait to do it!!

March: Since I have straight dark hair and a oval to roundish face, I'm getting my hair styled like they do in Korea. Their long side bangs haircut style make long straight hair look nice and it frames roundish faces. I ended up getting that style b4 from my bangs growing out with a layered cut and ill probably go back to the saloon to get it touched up and trimmed. Speaking of normal bangs, they look terrible on me. Never again.

Mo Arduini: so then everything and anything is going to be IN.

S P: I am so over the middle part (especially with straight hair). I really don't think it is flattering on very many people. Let's move on.

Okay Kh-O!: Honey I’m black. 2020 I’m wearing natural hair and wigs, and protective styles.

Marissa Grilli: Sooooo, the takeaway is basically every length of hair and cut is back.

Yonnea: So is it safe to say that in the year 2020, every single popular hairstyle in the past decade or possible century will be in style? The amount of 2020 hairstyles seems to be all over the place and overwhelming. I would just say, wear whatever type of hairstyle you feel like wearing on any given day of the year. It will be the trending style no matter what.

HarleyGirl1982: We need to bring back the 20's style!!!

catitude4: I'm vary limited on what I can do with my hair. It's frizzy and looks like a bad perm. No such thing as wash and go for me. It all has to be ironed out with a curling iron. Forget short hair, it ends up looking like the old lady bubble do from 1968.

Briana LaShawn: “Natural hair” is not a trend.

chess xxo: I cut mine so short yesterday for summer loving ithair will always grow:)

Earthtear: Sported a bob for the last 6 years. Finally started growing it out. BAM. Bobs back in fashion.

Hewa MD: Oh okay so I finally grow my hair long and manage not to panick-chop it like I always do, and now 2020 everyone is gonna cut their hair short???? Oh God ‍♀️

Camden1313: Umm...this has essentially covered every hairstyle. So basically whatever you do with your hair in 2020 it'll be "in".

lovely A: I feel like every year the same hair trends are in: bobs, shags, part down the middle, baby or long bangs, layers, pixie cuts and curls.

Maxwell T: So what you're saying is, all haircuts from all time periods will be popular, despite showing mostly the same mid-to long-length wavy cut that has dominated the past few years. Cool.

Danielle Rodgers: Sad to see such high demand for hair extensions after knowing where most of them come from.

Ella Pailanan: I love bob styles! I already have cut my hair

karen horton: Natural hair is going to be a hair trend

Honeykai: Its actually really funny, i want my haircut to be exactly what they're predicting

Lisette Chevalier: Haha! I literally just got a shag/defused layers. Traded it out for the usual bob. ;-)

Nikki Maurer: I've never been into the baby fringe, I don't know why ‍♀️

Sarah Washington: I love zendaya’s haircut this short and curly looks amazing on her

Annika Wheble: My curly hair style is a mix of all of these, like the short 70s curly layers look

Sakura ̊: I cut my hair like a bob lol I regret it. I’ll just let my hair grow. I love long hair.

Scottie Hall: I think they are wrong about who designed Farrah's haircut. It was Jose Eber.

Noemi: "Whats the trend for 2020?" Internet: "Yes"

Jessica: For the 2 20's the 1920s styles should come back. Hair and fashion.

Roze Pyracantha: Girls chop their hair off then whine for a few years about how they miss their long hair. If you're gonna do it, embrace it, ffs

Official Covers: So technically i can now walk outta my house with my frizzy, rockstar style birds nest of hair, and be trendy now?

M Zee: My haircut for 2020 is never cutting it again due to regret every time because I can’t pull it off like these models but thanks

Rhonda Reese: The bob was first popular in the 20' s.

viviwnck: I always thought baby bangs were made by mistake by people trying to cut their own hair

Jo Nyu: I dont believe the Rachel will come back.

GodsLorrainbow: I don't care what's hot I'm keeping my very long hair!!

d r a m a l o l o: Omg I just cut layered shoulder length hair 1 week ago.My friends said that I look like a girl from 80s 90s but I didn't care what they were saying.But its gonna be trend once again..❤

Moa: Yes obviously extensions Will be popular if everyone Will be cutting the hair off I would be way to scared to cut mine though

Glow: Love my long blue black shinny hair. I don't need to chop it off because it is a "trend" or others does it.

Acts 2:38 JESUS NAME!: I don't like short hair personally, but there is one that it looks great on. Erin from HGTVs show Hometown. Short cut, but she styles it so girly!

Ente Wurzel: So actually: whatever you want to wear... do it that is what the video says. Long short shoulder long bangs no bangs curly straight.... everything is in

Stanka Kordic: Seems like everything goes for 2020

Blackwidow: Idk why people love to cut their hair off like I did with mine cuz I like how it fits me but there’s people that look bad with it but do it cuz it’s “trend” don’t wear what looks bad on you wear what you like and it’s comfortable and looks good

Subxsally: It's 2020 and I'm not asking for any of these haircuts..... Did I miss a step? Or did I mess up the instructions. No. None of us did. Except the person who did ask for them. Edit: my dream hairstyle for 2020 is a bit of raccoon mixed with Florida, spiced with toes and topped with bathwater~~try to imagine it......

Ow Lin Lin: I believe Kaia Gerber's short haircut will be the trend
