Hey everyone welcome back to the channel, thanks for being here today is going to be one of my favorite educational videos to do, and that is a ponytail haircut that you can see where hair travels to and from to create a trend haircut. So today's haircut is going to be the butterfly cut and i've got a professional version and i've got this version, but this version is for educational purposes. So i'm going to be showing you young hairdressers out there. If we were to cut hair here from here, pulled back pulled forward, what would it do if we just cut it off? How would it fall, so that is the intention of my ponytail educational videos. So if you like, it smash that thumbs up hit the subscribe button and don't forget to comment down below and just let me know what you think about these videos, because it is the thing which inspires me to bring you more of this or more of that. So yeah, let's get into the video, is this the new wolf cup for 2023? This is a butterfly cut and what this is we're looking for softness all around the face and we're looking for maintaining the length but putting in a layer. So i've got my trusty ponytails to help educate you guys on where hair will fall to what it looks like if we just take it off instantly. Really really quick visual i've got another video coming very soon of the salon technique, which is very similar sort of section impact to this, but it's taken in a professional and salon floor environment. So, as you can see from the first ponytail, i've dragged it right over the client's eyes because when we are looking at sectioning it and cutting it in salon, we would be bringing it out here and cutting it. So it's a similar premise to the ponytails. I'M bringing it all to that point down here and i'm going to cut it off around about sort of half that ponytail and it'll give us a lot of soft shape when it comes to the top we're going to over direct forward and we're going to cut That off at the back in a 45 degree angle, so we make sure we get shortness in here, but we're getting longer layers when it comes down to the perimeter. So i'm looking for half of the ponytail, we can flip that back. We can see that is half and i'm just point cutting into there to really soften off that straight line there. It'S not sitting there now what we want to do through this top ponytail again we're going to go half so we'll flick that down to see where we get to half, which is there and again. You can see that angle going from shorter to longer and i'm just going to soften off deep point cut into there. That'S the haircut done, pull this out, pull this out. Let'S give it a shake, and there we have it. That is the butterfly cup that is going to be taking over the wolf cup 2023.. You can see all of that shape all that little softness through that side. Let'S have a little look all through there all that softness just from two ponytails. This is why i love showing these ponytail haircuts, because it gives you an instant sort of look into what the haircut looks like and also where to cut it to and then check out my next video, which i'll link. So you can see how i do it in the salad. Let me know what you think about this butterfly haircut, really quick and simple and easy, but i love it and i love showing you guys these really quick and easy ways to achieve it and then i'd love to see some of you creating it in more of, Like a professional salon, floor version and you'll be seeing my salon floor version very very soon, so yeah. Thank you so much for supporting the channel look at that. That is just lovely a little bit of spray in any sort. There texture look at it falling into place beautifully how's that how's that and there we go how's that, let me know in the comments down below thumbs up if you enjoyed the video. Don'T forget to that big hit red button. Don'T forget to hit that big red button subscribe button. Thank you so much for watching i'll see you next video

GamingVidz: For us with social anxiety that cannot face a salon, these tutorials are a life saver. You're amazing. And something about flinging that mannequin head around is so maniacally hilarious. ^_^

Kathryn Reifenberger: Great! But we need the side and top view so we can see where you make the parts to pull forward and up

Namas Yoga: Thank you so much for this. Going to a salon gives me anxiety and I'm not good at someone touching my hair I did your wolf cut on myself a month ago and I love it! Lovely layers for my flat Asian hair Thank you for this one, can't wait to try it!

Miruna Ciocoiu: Everytime you upload a ponytail cut, I do it on myself and love it. These are my favourite videos. I’ve been wondering how to do this cut, thank you for uploading this!❤️

Aileen Fernandez: Yes! This is what I've been waiting for! Thank you and looks super easy! Once my hair grows long enough, i will try this! Your ponytail videos have helped me understand overdirection. Excited for the next one.

Sara by the Sea⛵️: Love this style! So 80's with a modern twist! I have thick hair, this would look great. I think I've found my look! Thank you!!

Pamela M: Great video once again! I think if you could use a lighter color of hair we could see it better ;it was just hard to see the final look but still loved the video as I do all of yours. You have an incredible personality !

Linda Cubitoso: I love these tutorials. Please don’t stop. I’m 71 and I gave myself the 2 pony tail wolf cut you did. It came out great. I did the point cutting just like you. I find that by doing it myself, I get what I want. I don’t always get that at a salon. Something must get lost in the translation. I also color my hair in a light warm blonde.

Laura S: Hi Paul!! Thanks for showing these hair tutorials! I don’t do cutting myself, except a bang trim. I like to see the results from the ponytail method! I am going to watch your Professional one as well. I like this layered cut Better! Like you mentioned it is a softer layering and effect. Hope you have a Great Week!!

Gelsey Guerra D.: Ame este corte, estoy a nada cortarmelo sola, increíble me encantó, será mi nuevo corte en definitiva y obvio que también quiero la versión de salon

Re Gee: Thank you for showing me how to do my next haircut! I've only had my hair cut professionally a few times, but was disappointed each time so I cut it myself.

Sand & Coffee Rocks: I'll definitely be trying this one when I need my next cut. Thanks Paul!

Cosmic Girl: I did this cut on myself but I didnt cut the back right ( directional) I got the angle right, but after some tweaking I LOVE THIS CUT!!!!

Cathy Rackowski: I am going to assume you’ve sectioned from top of head behind ears? I wish you’d done a side view of the two ponytails . I’ll just give it a go and let you know how it comes out. I love these videos thank you.

Mihaela P: Thank you for this video. I've been looking for this haircut for a while now. For me, going to salon, I always end up with the shortest hair, they tend to cut it a lot and I find this very annoying. So I learned a lot from youtube tutorials. Maybe hair not turning out perfect, but at least, I control the lenght or how much I'm taking from it!

Tünde Molnar: Thank you!! the technique is wonderful, but the background is a bit dark and the shot is distant. Thank you again, it’s very useful :)

Lady Lisa Romance: I'm watching! Thanks for the heads up yesterday! That is GORGEOUS and I'll try this one next! You're AMAZING

Brigitte Saunders: Ok, I'm going to date myself. Back in the '70's there was the Farrah Fawcett hair. The cut was referred as the "surf cut". I had grown my hair straight down my back. The cut was a pony cut then. Except all the hair was pulled from the back forward & then cut to measure in the front. Great when one wanted a layered cut with hair to the waist. Easier on the arms. All one had to do was just fine tune the areas that one wanted. I've done this upon request 3x's in my career as a stylist. I can't tell you how happy these clients were when they found out I knew the cut & wasn't the type to be afraid to do it.

Gabrielle bluemarine: thanks for a great video. Just one thought though, I find it difficult to see with dark hair and dark background. Either better lighting or contrasting colours would be better.

Tonya Davis: I love the new cut! Thank you so much for these great videos.

Layla Sofia Levi: Great video, I would have liked to see also the partitioning done for the pony tails, to be able to replicate that

Xochitl Sandoval: I would love to do a haircut like this but I'm worried about what it's going to look like when it grows out.

Maxwell T: Will this work on longer hair? What happens if you cut less than half, will you still get a nice graduated look? My hair is down to my lower back and really thick, and I'm ready to lose some length and weight, but don't know if I'm ready to go as short as the mannequin! Thanks.

H H: Great video, so just so that I am clear, this does not remove overall length from the back? Would have been good to see you put the hair into the ponytails so I could see what portion to save for the one on top of the head and what portions go into the one that covers the eyes. I think the latter is just hair from the sides of the back...

Vivian Hudacek: Watched the other one (salon version) on lighter hair. About to do this version right now.

Evelyn Figueroa: I accidentally gave myself a butterfly cut over the weekend. It turned out great:)

23neogems: I love the shaking part, wish i could take my head off and do it XD

Flor Amazon: So stylish, I 'm longing for trying it! A great thank for your vidéos, so inspiring and clear!

Christy Moore: Where do you part the sections for the butterfly cut. I absolutely love it!!

jo4vt: Wow, I gasped when you revealed the result. It’s so amazing!

Theresa Navarrete: By the way.... I just love the Butterfly cut!!! ☺️

Laura Lee-Gosselin: Can I suggest showing how you sectioned the ponytails and possibly zooming in a little so the viewer can see a closer view?

Patrizia Lux: hello!! I really like your way of explaining haircuts. Greetings from Italy

Queen of Love: LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!! Wish I could join your channel AGAIN I love it so much!! Thank you for your content ❤️

Rae Lynn: How does this cut work on fine hair.....with a medium weight? This cut is so cute. Please also let me know exactly where to separate and part each section. Thank you ❤️

Vivian Hudacek: Great idea! My only suggestion would be that you wear a light colored shirt b/c with the mannequin’s hair being dark, the screen the back being dark, & your shirt being black, it’s hard to see for those of us who want to do this at home.

Rootatoot07: Love it! Can you show exactly where you part it next time though

Theresa Navarrete: How about if I have a bob... Which I did watching you 3 ponytail cut and it came out great, but it's already growing out. Can I do that one? Please show a video of a shorter version. Thanks I think you're Great!!!

Kelli Hull: This is how my wolf cut turned out without going over my face…. NO idea how

Susan Chavez: I could be mistaken, but is her left side much longer? If not, I apologize. Also can you show us exactly where you parted it and explain where and how long the layers are and how much is the face framed? Thanks!

lanae smith: WOWWWW! I love this! Thanks for the video!

Amanda: Cool my hair looks like this already!!! Yay

Adelly xP: I just did it and it’s sooooo cute

CT Laurie: Love uuu love ur vids love ur tips love ur personality love that uuu share w//us ty ty ty

elizabeth garza: Amazing

flor Martinez: I love it

Leesh: It’s called the gypsy > not butterfly >(?) ‍♀️

bellakabello: me parese una técnica muy facil para este tipo de cortes en el cabello largo para no cortarlos tan pequeños tu pones de donde te agarras woo grasias

Gloria Rueda: Por favor la partición la hiciste de oreja a oreja, precioso el corte

Grace C: Sir, would you please wear a white shirt in your video so we can better see what you're doing? It would be very helpful.

Chrissie Sanders: Brilliant!

Warda Mukhtari: Ur amazing

Maysa Haj: excellent

Toni,s hair styles: Excellent ☺️ x

francesca saunders: SUPERB & STYLISH.

Cizelaida Guia: La cámara la colocó muy lejos y no se apreció bien el trabajo realizado. Y si para terminar el corte le moverá la cabeza igual que al maniquí ‍ a la cliente?

Toni,s hair styles: What kind of section s did you do Paul as the video is a little dark mate

Deborah Duthie: Your dark T’shirt and black boarder around the back of room screen is blocking the tutorial somewhat. Dark hair black T’shirt? Try blonde hair ‘or’ white T’shirt.

Patrick Manning: Never showed the top ponytail section

Paula: Where are the sections? Is it from the crown.

gypsy martin: What does the back look like?

Kevin Ortiz:

Maysa Haj: ❤

belajar Fonny:

Leaonia Maguire: Great. But you need to be closer to cam. Plz. We don’t need to see all you hunni. Just the dolls head would be fab.
