I wanted mine to be like my friends... she would laugh and Plat or try to satisfy my desires... she Loved that I wanted to " fit in" with the " colored" kids ( 1960's terminology).. I felt like an outcast because of being a natural redhead... I was judged by teachers & white students...I learned to live every one because Annie taught me we all all the same color under our skin...

Another tried to touch my hair while the first lady was talking to me, I told her don't do that . It used to be that you couldn’t get hired with non natural hair colors like pink, blue etc. or with certain extreme cuts. Men with long hair was not professional. What’s considered professional is going out the window more and more. There was a time when you couldn’t get a job if you had tattoos showing. Slowly the concept of looking professional is going out the window. And with more and more people working from home, I think it’s ever closer to be done. Now u see people with ear plugs and other piercings with customer service jobs. Years ago they’d never been hired in a job to deal face to face with the public.
