I do have several disclaimers that I want to share with you before you decide to color your hair red, what's good everybody that feels like a redundant question, because the people have spoken and we know what's good, we know what the people want. So in today's video we're going to talk about the most popular hair trends for fall, winter 2022 to 2023 because baby it's Salon season and I want to make sure that your hair is holiday. Ready, if you don't know me, welcome I'm Mel, your main girl, I'm a licensed hair stylist Who currently can't do hair, but I still want to make sure that you're making the right choices in the chair. So without further Ado, I shall explain to you the method behind the magic of creating some of the most popular looks. This season. You'Ll learn what to ask your stylist to achieve the look and, most importantly, we'll talk about what it's going to take to maintain. This look that you wish to attain, because before a big hair change, you might want to consider how often you're gon na have to see your stylist to maintain this look and the right after care to keep it looking fresh. So without further Ado, let's get to it now, of course we're going to talk about both colors and Cuts, but you got ta build the house before you paint it, so we will talk about haircuts first now, Amanda. I know you do not want to hear this, but short bobs are not going anywhere earlier this year with the new year, a lot of people were cutting their hair short, so the French Bob was in full force, which is one of my absolute favorite hairstyles, but Something to know about short hair is it does take a lot of Maintenance. So, at this point in the year A lot of people are growing their hair out just a little bit and that French bob cut is being evolved into this layered Bob. These are some examples that I absolutely love we're seeing this a lot on both straight hair as well as curly hair. This cut gives the perfect combination of the right amount of movement framing around the face, as well as versatility, because it's not too short that you can't style it and it's not too long, which can take a long time to dry and also take away from volume. You start off with a blunt perimeter. This makes the hair look so full and Alive, which is really great. If your hair is fine now you have have to add in the long layers all around the head, because this is going to help with the movements as well as giving the hair a little bit of extra texture and then for the face framing layers. You can have a little bit of fun with this. Bangs are always a thing and in my professional opinion, the fall is the best time to bring them around, because they just look so cute with the hats, and I just love the way they frame the face. But we're not necessarily looking at a heavy bang. We'Re looking for wispy bottleneck, bangs bottleneck just explains the way that the haircut shapes your face. The really wispy bangs have the shortest point right in the middle of your face here and then gradually get longer and shape. Your face like this, which is what gives it its name, but essentially it's just a really wispy minimal curtain, bang, it's like bangs, but not really, bangs, it's the bangs with Benefits which we did a whole video on earlier this year as well. The best part about these is they are super low commitment, it's a great place to start with bangs before going too heavy because you can always cut more hair, but you can't add it back. As I mentioned and short, hair is more maintenance, so you're probably going to see your stylist every two to maybe four months maximum, depending on how fast your hair grows. Even if you are trying to grow out your long layered Bob, you will need to reshape the layers so make sure that you are prepared to go back into salon or you can always follow one of the DIY haircuts that I have on here. It'S up to you. Let me know if this is all sounding exciting to you and if you are ready to take the plunge, ask your stylist for the medium length bob clarify where you want it to sit, maybe just above your tit or your collarbone. Okay, we call this a long. Bob and you want it blunt, but with long layers throughout the hair and face framings and if you're looking to take part in the next hair color Trend, coppers Auburn's red that rusts color. Everyone is seeking to add some warmth to the hair, which is valid because it looks literally stunning on everyone. There is the right shade of copper and read for everyone out there any skin tone any eye color. But I do have several disclaimers that I want to share with you before you decide to color your hair red. The two biggest challenges that copper hair will give. You is that it can be the fastest to fade while also taking the longest to get out of the hair ironically. But here's why this is the hair color level system level. One is the darkest the level 10 is the lightest. The sweet spots for Reds to live Thrive and survive is levels three to seven. That'S because underneath these levels, once you start to lift them, the natural remaining pigments are predominantly red. Red, orange and orange. Those natural remaining pigments provide a foundation for the color to hold on to blonde hair level. 10. 9 even 8. Let'S say your brond, which are all out of the red zone, are not going to be able to support that warmth, at least not after one color session. So after your first appointment, you may notice in a couple weeks your hair is fading extra extremely fast, and your color may look very Hollow because it's lacking the pigment that is needed so be prepared to have to go back in to redo your hair. Now, let's say your person number B, you have so much pigment in your hair, you're a level two three naturally or maybe you've colored your hair dark before. If you want a vibrant, copper or red, you have to lighten your hair to get to the right level. So that you can see that reflect and that Vibrance my hair right now with the dark brown that it is, is too dark to show off a copper color in the state that it is. I would have to lighten my hair to a level seven and by putting lightener on my hair, it's increasing my porosity, which again leads to fading quickly. Now, let's say you're: okay with that, because you're planning to refresh your color with color masks at home, you're still going to be looking at color touch-up appointments every four to five weeks to touch up the roots, because if you let your roots grow too long in Between your copper, every color, you do run the risk of requiring a double process. What'S that and why well, a double process is going to include applying two colors to your head, because when you let the roots grow too long, more than half an inch from your scalp, the first half an inch is like baby hair. It'S fresh it lightens very easily, but then everything beyond that keratinizes and it's going to be much harder to lift. This is called hot Roots, which low-key was a trend a couple years ago because of Billy eilish, but otherwise a hot root is not a good thing. It'S this really bright band around the scalp that is lighter than the rest of the color, because the rest of it didn't get to lighten properly or color properly because it took so long in between appointments. If you've ever colored your hair at home, you may have experienced this, or maybe you've, also experienced it in Salon, because hot roots are such a problem, you always have to do a separate color on your roots from your ends, which is why it's very difficult to Achieve a good, copper color done at home, it's even difficult for some stylists to master unless they are a master, colorist or actually specialized in redheads, which in that case I would recommend you go to one and So to avoid a hot root. You have to maintain the color every four to five weeks as well as formulating properly for the hair that is growing out of the scalp if it gets too long, you get into complications. So what are we learning from? All of this? Copper is high maintenance. It'S really crucial and important to make sure that you consider your lifestyle before making a drastic hair change, and it's better. You have that talk with yourself now before coloring your hair red and wanting to change it in a few months down the line like I said, while red can fade very fast, it can also really stain the hair and that artificial pigment can be very difficult to Get out of the hair, especially if you want to become a light blonde. Once again, I realize it might really sound like a hater, but I love Reds and coppers so much and if they are done right, it is so right just make sure that you are honest with your stylist about what your hair history is. If you have colored ends, it's really important to know that you have to lighten them in order to see the right color, especially if you are not in the Red Zone. You need to be prepared to go to the salon every four five, maybe six weeks to touch up, and thankfully you can use color, depositing masks in between to refresh your color on your wash days, and that way you can always go out with a bang. Now, having said all that the last Trend, in effect is adding depth, we add depth to the hair by adding variation of highlights and low lights and a shadow root. But I've been noticing that colors are becoming a lot more solid, with subtle Dimension, there's still highs and lows throughout the hair which, if you have previously highlighted hair or you've, had Balayage highlights in the past. You have that dimension in through your ends, but I see that people are looking for a lot more blend. There are less and less people that are asking for those bright pops of Dimension that look and natural color block is always really fun and cool. That look is made for a very intentional pop of color, which is also very high maintenance, but, with the solid, more natural looks typically they're easier to maintain unless you're red, they want the color to look like it's been growing out of their head, even if it Is an unnatural hair color like red, we're looking for a seamless, color and what's beautiful with curls, is they naturally have dimension in all the texture, but overall we're adding more depth to the hair by toning down a lot of that extreme brightness for a more cohesive Look and as we are toning things down, the hair is looking a lot healthier and healthy hair is always in that's just something that I've been noticing. If you have been thinking of making a hair change, let me know what it is in the comment section below and if you would like to learn more about what tones you should be looking for. If you want to pick the right tone for your skin and eye colors for your skin and eye colors, what eye is down there? Then you can check out that video that I made previously up next. Am I right, let me know what you think, maybe you're not into Trends now these Trends they come and go, but you're here forever you're here as long as you're here, but I mean you you as you are you as a person you as your aesthetic, you Have a certain look suited for you, so stay tuned for a read on your aesthetic and the right hairstyle for you, a video I'm working on up next, so I can continue to help you make better choices in the chair. While I am unable to do hair again, this has been a very brutal time for me, but we are healing. We are almost there and truly, I can't wait till once again, I can do some hair in the meantime, and, as always, I will be here each and every texture, Tuesday, with the brand new video. So until next time this has been your main girl Mel and I am out peace all right. All right, Aaron just brought me a mid film, snack yeah. Oh my God, no Amanda, it's gon na break my fast go away. Please! Oh you're fast, I'm fasting, but I am drinking my matcha. It'S pumpkin pie, matcha, no man, it literally tastes like autumn in a cup. Tell me that's what happened. Look at the police, but I'm not a pumpkin person unless it's pumpkin pie. This is pumpkin pie. Matcha. Okay, enjoy some people, just don't have any taste. I honestly could not tell you what's happening at the top of my head. It'S just the way that the hair is falling. I'M not farting. This chair makes me look so bad and so fat. I I meant to be fair. I did kind of read the chair, but what I'm sorry you're made to support me.

Sarah Nugent: Thank you Mell, you never disappoint. As someone who is in high school and just in the past few months really started embracing my curls, you really help me. My school is small so most people are pretty uniform and similar, so it can be hard to branch out and embrace my hair, but you help so so much!

Erin lil squishy: Ive done every shade of red several times since college and it has been the easiest to keep in my hair (i have natural auburn hair with natural blonde streaks). I’ve recently gotten into green and finally getting the shade i want (super dark forest green) however i miss red but want to keep my green and now I wish i had 2 heads lol

Molly Lighthart: Just went back to copper last week! With my fair skin and green eyes, it is my favorite hair color (plus with color depositing conditioners maintenance is a little easier)

Ari Jay: Mell’s dark hair is and those curls are EVERYTHING ❤. I absolutely love red hair but it is so high maintenance! I miss it sometimes... but I can’t commit to all the time and not to mention, the staining of everything, lol.

Tomte: I just randomly chopped off about 10 inches on Sunday. It feels so much better and my curls are back! I'm still deciding if I want to mess with bangs or not.

Ariel: I love having my curls red! Though it's a constant battle to go between dark/medium brunette that I am naturally and red. I love em both! I feel like red suits my personality though! But it is definitely higher maintenance like you said! I love to use Arctic Fox in between my colors to keep it fresh a non damaging!

Timeless Beauty By Alex: I can't even explain how much I appreciate you. I got my license 4 years ago and never did much with it. I'm now circling back and assisting at a salon and your knowledge is so helpful. Thank you for everything you do, I greatly appreciate it :)

VerdureVision: Hair Journey Alert! In 1995, I went from ~7 Brown, mid-back length, natural hair to a bright Copper Red short bob for an Agent Scully/X-Files cosplay (wigs, schmigs. FULL commitment, baby!) The color worked so well and became such a signature look, that I kept various shades of it until about 2015 when I decided to start dialing it back to my original darker brunette. But by early 2020, I had decided even that level of color maintenance was becoming a drag, and talked with my stylist about how to ease into my natural grey and just focus on healthy natural hair with good styling. Then f’n Covid. In late Spring 2020, out of sheer frustration, I took the clippers I bought for styling my husband’s hair, and did a close undercut down to the roots. (That took off 1/2 the colored hair in one swoop!) Then in 2022, I discovered Mell’s pigtail tutorial for layers, and lopped off the final bits of color. So. Happy. My hair texture is the healthiest it’s been in a long time (no processing!) and I sure don’t miss all the maintenance. Life is just different now. ‍♀️ Even so… please have tons of fun with your hair, ladies. It’s a living, ever-changing gift of self-expression. ❤️

Robyn Henry: I used dark and lovely overtone box dye from target on my natural virgin hair and it genuinely has looked amazing. I naturally have a very dark auburn undertone brown colour so I kinda had an advantage it seems from this video

Janette Feldkamp: Perfect timing, Mell! I've got an appointment with my stylist in 2 weeks and wasn't quite sure what I wanted. Now I do. Thanks!

Stephanie Vincent: Great video! I think if someone is going red and has light hair it's important not to forget strawberry blonde and light ginger! You can even get strawberry blonde up to level 9. Or peach! For hair that is a natural dark level burgundy is a great choice.

Hattie Atkinson: I’m too lazy to colour my hair I tried going short once and felt like sideshow Bob from the Simpsons. I did see some shorter bobs that I liked but after learning from this video that it will be high maintenance, I am going to stick with my current length. Thanks for this informative video as always Mell and wishing you a speedy recovery ❤️‍

karinac1999: I'm not a big trend follower, but my favorite color was always the red. I was red-red. Beautiful and bright, with a couple of black streaks in there. Yes it was a lot of maintenance. I was at my stylist every 6 weeks, plus I used color masks. Now I'm trying for silver because my gray is too dominant. But since I don't want to beach or damage, I'm working it slowly.

Ana María: I went short a month ago and love it! Good lesson to get layers once I decide to start growing it out

lngIslgirl: I absolutely love your videos. It's education and so funny. Thank you! Been loving your Verb mouse collab. My hair is similar to yours. But I have three shades going in my curls. Dark brown, copper and the ends a brownish blond. The copper I had already from years of using a reddish brown box color that never left my hair. I get touch ups once awhile when i need to hide my gray in the roots.

Deanna: Happy Texture Tuesday!! So excited for this one!! Hope your healing well!! Much love and happiness!! Xoxo

Ginger Ginger: Good for me! I'm naturally red! Its great when a trend aligns with who you are. I don't color because I'm not into constant maintenance. I am into the bobs. In my area, I look around and almost everyone under the age of 60 has the same exact long hair with big loose curls. Its pretty but, it would be good to see variation soon.

Emily: LOVE this video. I have been a cool red for years. Now my stylist is helping me to transition over to a copper red. Your video made me realize that I am on the right path with this color choice.

JC7 Blessed: its always interesting to see what Mell recommmends, for new trends

Christina T: I’m not interested in trying copper but have been working towards a long layered bob for the past several months. My hair is wavy curly and so far I am loving seeing the layers grow out, each time I hit a point that I can even up another layer. I’d love to see a video on good hair cutting scissors for at home haircuts. I’ve been cutting my own hair for nearly 10 years now (and cut my kids hair) and would love to know what brands you recommend at different price points.

Ataume: As someone who doesn't do trends: looking forward to your next video! :D

Tanairi Mastarreno: You're so awesome for making this video! I'm currently a light copper red and it was by accident . But I'm going 2 enjoy it for the moment. Your hair looks so healthy!

Ellie Harbold: I made my big change already. . I finally decided to go with the “rainbow” hair I’ve always wanted!

mgh20121: I went with a copper balayage last fall, I have medium brown hair in summer and dark brown hair in the winter. Made it a lot less high maintenance because I didn’t need root touch ups! Does look less natural in the winter when my hair is darker though. It does fade fast, I use a color maintenance conditioner every two washes and that does the trick. Kind of feel like I should use it every wash day tbh!

Julie Bruce: I told my hairstylist that I was bored with my hair because I’ve been growing it out for so long. I was there for my root touchup appointment because I have gray roots. She said buy a new lipstick color My hair is so fine it can get damage so easily if we went red, and really red is the only option because of the undertones in my hair. Thank you for explaining that it would have to be lightened first because I have brown hair. Her comment now makes sense! Besides, if it’s a humid day, I do have a short bob lol

Patty Robberson: My stylist took my level 10 to a beautiful root smudged dark auburn in the range of my natural color to a pretty light orange on the end. I use Keracolor copper once a week and it looks SO GOOD!

Nicole: Oh girl! I naturally have strawberry blonde hair but oh did I go through this struggle for a few years! I fell in love with this ginger copper color. It got when my stylist took me from dark brown back to blonde. It became this gorgeous color. It was impossible to get it back. after I changed it. I then started doing more red because I liked that look. But then learned how crazy too bright of a red can be. But even when I did get that perfect cooper color finally. When I went back to get it touched up it turned out different every time... I wanted to try a different stylist for the first time in years and after like 9 hours she did such a weird mustard yellow and too bright of a red on my hair... It took 2 years to finally get it back to "normal." red and copper had me traumatized lol.

Anna Komnatna: I have purple-red color right now. Went from dark brown to it with just 30 volume developer and "booster" permanent hair die. Now it is faded to less vibrant (after 2 months), but it is still beautifull. No maintenance so far at all. I did it more like ombre with some transition, to avoid roots problem

Güera's World: Earlier this year I was super into the chunky y2k style highlights but it’s true it’s so much harder to maintain and so obvious once it grows out

Celithien: I've been cutting my own hair for ages but it has no shape so I want to go to a salon, but it's so hard to find someone that I feel I can actually trust with my hair!!

Donna Stapleton: I always want to do something different and i miss having red in mine but i look like ronald macdonald lol so im not doing it or damaging mine anymore. Im going and stayig dark and im sooo happy to see Mells hair DARk! I loove the caramel light. Lond colour but i have yet to really see it dark/filly dark so im here for it ❤

Renee M Carr: Mel, you are the best, and there's one thing I learn from all of your videos. That is that if you plan to do a change to your style or cut your hair, always have a lengthy conversation with your stylist that you trust, because your face shape may not be the best for that particularstyle, your type of hair or amount of hair may not hold the style, and that unless you're a stylist, attempting these styles yourself with zero experience and much more. But really .. Don't do it!! Lol seriously.. I've had such self esteem issues. My ex was a fraud and I lost everything, my home, job, marriage, every belonging, had to move out of the country my son and i lived in, and I'm a solo mom to a 4 year old with autism, so your humor and knowledge have helped me to just love my hair as it is meant to be naturally. I'm 44, and struggling. My hair, as silly as it seems, has been my only way to self care, and I have learned so much from you. Thank you, so much girl!

shadowchsr79: I naturally have light to medium brown hair (level 5 to 6) and periodically add red/copper color in the fall and winter. Though because I do worry about hair damage I often just use a color conditioning mask like Overtone. I tend to do the main mask every 4 to 5 weeks and maintenance color conditioners in the shower when I shampoo. I do notice it fades faster at the crown than at my ends. I am trying to grow my hair longer but at the same time I am also in the transition phase of going curly girl (or rather wavy) and I always get nervous about having layers added or having too much hair cut off if I get any layers to help allow my waves and curls to form better. I have rarely had a professional hair cut I liked but that probably stems from not asking for the right things for my hair.

D Ebner: Until 2 yrs, I've always kept my hair short, before knowing how to take care of my natural wavy/curly hair & bc I thought it would be the easiest. WRONG! I would have to wash & style it more often. I'm never going short again.

Tanya Tucker: Hi! First off thank you so much for this video. I’m glad I watch this before I’ve done anything drastic with my hair. I’ve been itching for something different and I figured this would be the place I could ask some questions. Let’s start with the cut. I have found your haircut tutorials very helpful and I am wanting to give myself another cut. Which one of your tutorials would be best for low density hair? Next let’s talk about color. I have been bored with my hair for a while now and I’ve been playing around with some semi permanent hair dyes. Which now I’m learning can be more difficult to remove . I have about a level 3-4 and I just want to know how to enhance my color. I also have about 25%-30% grays. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Lynzi Collins: Happy texture Tuesday!! Can’t wait to watch!! Hope you’re doing well Mell ❤️❤️❤️

Naturally Beautiful: Lol I did not know my current hair choices were trending. I aways keep my hair medium short because long hair is not for me. And my hair is color magenta and but orange. Saw the combo in pinterest once and fell in love with it. As always thank you Mell for all this valuable information

lisa henry: I love your channel and energy! Ihave a request, I am in the process of going natural... natural grey that is. I'm about 3 to 4 inches of growth and it is driving me nuts. I'm thinking of cutting it short, short and maybe getting extensions while continuing the grow out... what are your thoughts on the different types of extensions?

Melleny G: I was thinking of going copper few months ago but because my hair grows soo fast and the thought of retouching the roots frequently killed that dream lol.

Briena Rivera: This video taught me how to get what I want and make my salon visits the best and most effective for ME

L Bloodkith: Orangey-reds are my fave on me! I prefer to see a stylist, but I have to work up the funds for that. I did try out the Arctic Fox Sunset Orange, which did make my naturally medium brown hair a lovely auburn until I can do a proper base & highlight coloring. :)

yensid: Mell, the dark hair looks great on you

Sam WTNW: I have had extreme hair loss since Covid in May 2022. I actually have a lot of thick, strong curls. You could never see my scalp either because my hair was so thick. I've already lost 2/3 hair

Aromacreativestudios: Glad to see you’re doing well. Sending good vibes your way!

Demi: I had a long bob, but I was only supposed to get a trim. The girl kept going shorter & shorter & I didn't realize how much she cut until I saw it. Hell hath no fury like a woman who got a hairstyle she didn't ask for.

360 Revolucion: @Manes by Mell Check out the Loreal Hi-Color line (Reds & Brown) sold at Sally's Beauty. I can go from dark chocolate brown & get intense Red color shades without bleaching AND cover my greys. Best part is the grey coverage that last until new hair growth.

ShallowWaters: Whoa! Your dark hair looks amazeballs. I loved your blonde so much that I never would have expected that dark would be so stunning!!

Elisabeth Ball: Any advice on dying natural ginger hair for grey cover and added vibrancy? Also Mell in part inspired by you I left university and I am going to an Aveda hairstyling school! I love it so much and I am so excited to have a career working with hair and products and all that cool stuff

PlatinumCyGirl: Mell I'm thinking of just growing out my hair, I had my hair colored like 3 times but during those processes I had ugh bleach rinses, as my hair is thick! Omg last color I had was an firebal ombre with lemon yellow ends. It didn't last, I got in the shower and the red bled down; yellow was gone and will fast forward 3 months my hair looks peach, rose gold ish and uneven too. And my ends are rough and damaged. I just wanted to have unnatural hair colors. I love having green, or purple. But I just can't. Too expensive too! Once I grow out the blond, I will get a nice layered cut and just get a streak!

Shari Perlman: Red and coppers are so fab! You’ve motivated me to get out my color conditioning. I use Moroccan Oil, but want to DPHue next.

Erika Boricua De Jesus: I learned that warmer, copper toned colors are in for the season and they are absolutely gorgeous!

KatoptrisStrife: I'm glad I gave my brown hair some red color. It's subtle but pops in the sun and easy to maintain color with shampoo. Even if I miss some color refresh, it fades into a lovely faded pink color.

Denise Kegler: Thanks for all of the tips and lessons - I didn't realize that lightened hair can have orange and red undertones.

Tami Burling: I have just in the last couple of weeks made a hair change and that is to wear my hair natural, lots of type 2B/2C curls. I'm in my 50's and pretty much all my life I've straightened my hair. My daughter (30's), who has type 4A/4B hair, has been after me for a long time to go natural. Well, I've finally taken the plunge. She started me on your channel and I have to say that I don't know where I'd be with my curls if not for you. Your videos are so helpful and very entertaining. Thank you so much for being there for us curly girls!

Frances Keller: It’s always easier when you already natural red tones in your blonde! I love being auburn now I like the update on the French bob but not so much on thick/coarse curls like mine. Thinner and fine hair can pull it off! But this is just my opinion

Airrial Tutton: This is such perfect timing! My appointment is this Saturday and I wanted to go copper now I don’t know so much

Elianis Valle: Thank you for the amazing info. And you look stunning in any Hair color

Soon Li: I'm cool toned, but never thought to use cool toned colours on my hair. As a baby I was very blonde but ended up a dark brunette. In the past I've tried reds and copper shades but they never felt right, i now know they were too warm for my skin tone... Thanks for the advise, this is something I'll always refer to.

Deanna Ramirez: I learned why my level 2 hair never worked out when I would get my hair color blocked red 10 years ago. I'm so scared to lighten it first though. Don't want to damage it.

marley mitchell: I have been red for a few months (this time, I’ve done red several times before) after being white blonde for a couple years. And I’m finding that the red is less maintenance for me!

Lavi: huh I've been doing copper box dye for years and I've always found it super easy and low maintenance lol

Taylor Red Fox: So I noticed a lot of trends happening that are mid/late 2000s lately concerning hair and accessories. I personally expect and welcome the violet/deep purple-ish red color returning. For darker hair colors like myself, it was the easiest to achieve — and looked amazing !

soft droid: Thank you for the info on copper hair cos I KNOW I would not be able to keep up with that maintenance. Heartbreaking but I needed to know ✨ But adding depth looks more achievable!

Deandra Johnson: Man I just love ur hair that color Mell! It looks great!!

Lora EA: Hair colour and outfit looking bomb! I was thinking about going copper… now I’m thinking a little more… maybe semi-permanent colour? I’m a low maintenance curly

Hannah Elisa: Copper fades sooooo fast. Literally two weeks with permanent haircolor. I love the color so much but wow it fades like crazy. But haircolor in general grabs badly to my hair because it is really coarse.

Anne Rodriguez: Key learning: I learned that I need to be aware of the costs of maintaining hair color , and I currently cannot afford doing that so I’ll wait!

ToniAriana: Yesss! I went copper, but my hair was too lifted and porous to hold the color. I wish I did a protein treatment before coloring

Felicia Bethea: I keep a layered bob, layered long bob, or blunt cut bob since I was about 22 (now 56). Also, I think matcha has calories in it, which would throw off your fasting. Not sure though.

phoenix: Hey mell I wanted your help regarding my confusion between whether I have dry and dehydrated scalp or an oily scalp with minimal dandruff When I use a very stripping shampoo (pantene clear shampoo)the flakes reappear within hours and are itchy . I was doing this for like a month or so and I didn't use conditioner at all so I had really bad hair breakage. My flakes are really thin and dry in nature. But last week i first used a slightly cleansing damdruff shampoo from dove and then used the Pantene conditioner on my whole scalp and the tresses and my hair became super lumpy but the flakes didn't reappear till like 2 days I am planning on a buying a silicone scalp massager but I am still confused regarding what my scalp type is if it is actually dehydrated I might invest in a scalp treatment from eucerin which is hydrating (i live in india soo its hella expensive) and start my curly journey with a hydrating conditioner and shampoo as I have low porosity and low elasticity hair. But I am getting confused because it was a mild dandruff shampoo and conditioner on my scalp that helped my hair for 2 days.

Laura B: Hi Mel. Love texture Tuesday. As a Red Head I always get asked what number it is. I can’t help them with that. Question besides Curlsmith, what temp hair masks have you tried?

suziemariel: I needed to hear this ! Life saver thanks

Maddy Carnahan: might be changing my hair style soon love the tips

We Are Legion: Love the darker hair. Absolutely stunning

Sarah Moreno: Is there a way to naturally lighten brown hair to see the copper underneath? I really like the highlights I get with sun exposure, so I’d like to see more of that color, but without damaging my hair

Ash: Mell, I used semi permanent red on my hair. How can I safely remove it without damaging my curls? Scared to go to a salon

mitch fj: I loved learning the short bob technique.

julia bara: Hi Mel, I recently discovered that I have wavy hair. I use a curl cream and a gel and it's looking good. But by day 4 my hair is really tangly and knotted. Is it too much gel? Can I prevent it somehow? Any tips? I sleep on a silk pillowcase. I know you're not supposed ti brush your hair but ny day 4 I just have to. Love your channel ❤️ you look gorgeous in these level 3 hair!

Lauren Lawlor: Loving the copper trend! But would be afraid to commit to a whole head. Maybe a highlight haha

casuallyDaj: I needed to hear this as someone who can’t maintain copper but I want it so bad! Lol gonna get a lace front

Lianne Siegel: So sorry about your injury, but I loved this video - sometimes it's hard to see what the trends are from a zillion instas, this was a wonderful way to get a snapshot of what's coming up.

Stacey Shaffer: A few years ago I colored my hair strawberry blonde and it looked natural... My natural hair color is auburn brown and I am loving my gray hairs now..... It has been 3 years since I have colored my hair

Lunique: Happy texture Tuesday! Your curls look fabulous!

April K: I’ve been thinking of adding some color to my hair but I’m very indecisive so maybe I’ll try temporary dye

jennifer ramirez: Been thinking about darkening my hair for the fall with a color depositing mask

Day 2 Keto Melanie Goens: Hi Mell l am Melanie, l did a big chop on my natural curls the damage due to home hair dye got out of control lt will be back.Thank you for sharing this.

Victoria: So I have 3b 3c curls, and I've been thinking of getting some halo highlights in a cool toned copper colour, or a cool brown that's a few shades lighter than my own. I currently have all natural hair, but think I want a bit of a change and some more depth

Wendolyn Bruno: Next video idea: can you do different (easy-ish) hairstyles for music festivals! Im going to EDCLV in may & idk what to do!! Everything I’ve googled is with straight hair …

360 Revolucion: @Manes by Mel I'm not into the copper, orange tint shades. I prefer and I'm about to go as usual from medium brown to Loreal either HiColor H12 Deep Auburn Red or the recent find at Sally's (yet to try) Loreal Chroma (True Reds) in Chroma Sangria. What I really would like but require a professional to do it is some rose gold highlights/lowlights something for dimension. But orangish hair, nah I'll pass.

Rasha Sharif: My hair is reverse bob - LOb and I dislike it! Maybe adding layers will make me feel better! But will be balyaging soon

Celine M: Me watching this video 2 years after I dyed my hair copper at home..

Nathalie Mejía: I love your videos . Would you recommend the wolf cut for low and fine density hair? .

Amy Trapp: I have not colored my hair for two years and letting my natural grey show. My hair has always had red in it, as my dad was a red head. As I let the grey grow, the hair growing is a mix of grey and dark. I only have some red left towards the bottom 3 inches. I would really like to find a way for it to be more cohesive without aging me.

SarcasticaleeXP: I used to dye my hair so much, now I just want to grow it out and keep it a natural color. When I do want color I'll just get some of those colorful gels.

Marie M: How does one deal with gray/silver hairs? Do you treat it as a level 8-10 or like what it was originally before turning (level 5)?

Sandi Melro: First off you are so beautiful in every way ok had to put that in ❤ I do have a grey hair question, the greys are showing and I have decided to go cold turkey, eventually I would like to colour again can you talk grey tones??? And for those of us transitioning to losing our natural grey out how to do that without wanting to shave it all off lol!

Rutuja Dicholkar: Would have experimented with all the haircuts if my hair grew faster. Had a haircut in April, still trying to grow it out to a certain length before going in for another haircut ‍️

Mette Kinnerup: Could I use semiperment color (color mask) on my virgin hair a couple times of year to add some warmth to my hair? Just for fun fun to get a change that not permanent or do any damage

Brandy Martin: Mel! This is off topic for this video, but could you do a video on 2nd and 3rd day hair refreshers? My hair is so dry and course, I can never get it to look normal on day 2 and end up re-styling my hair every single day unless I put it in a bun.. I would love to not deal with that and wear my days old curls proudly

Aziza Bahich: I've done copper for a year, a lot of maintenance at home, and the roots keeps bothering ‍♀️ you end up with 30% black and 70% orange and got tired of color masks so i ended up coloring it black yesterday
