Why Gogeta Has Red Hair

Golden Fighter: My theory is that SS4 Gogeta’s hair color has to do with the blutz waves and wavelengths on the light spectrum. Since Gogeta is Vegeta’s appearance with Goku’s personality, I’ll talk about SS4 Vegeta’s design. If we look at SS4 Vegeta’s design, it’s different than Goku’s. Vegeta has blue eyes and brown hair unlike Goku who has yellow eyes and black hair which is why Gogeta has blue eyes. Brown is the combination of low-saturated red and yellow. Black is the absence of color. I think since Vegeta took in more blutz waves than Goku, his hair was brown. When you add more blutz waves on top of that with SS4 Goku fusing with him, the brown leans more into a red on the light spectrum because there are more blutz waves or, in real life, wavelength visible to the naked eye. Therefore, we get the red hair and blue eyes of SS4 Gogeta because the addition of Goku and Vegeta’s blutz waves into Gogeta.

Reagen Lionel: Incomplete super saiyan God seems very likely by the notion the arguments against it can be explained by it not being complete properly. It makes the most sense. His aura does have tiny sparkles in it too unlike the normal super saiyan aura. That seems to make the most sense in universe canon to me.

XenoKnight: I think SSJ4 Gogeta's design overall was inspired by the Kabuki. It would explain the red hair and red eyebrows. Just like how Kyoshiro from Samurai Showdown was heavily inspired by the Kabuki. Just without the face paint. #ENDERS

Laz is in a Crisis: My theory is that his is a perfected version of the Super Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker from the Dragon Ball Heroes promotional anime. The way Limit Breaker is achieved is similar to the build up before Gogeta’s appearance and the form gives a reddish hue to the hair. Maybe it’s a bit loose but I believe it.

ShonenHiroXD: I think it's more on the Aesthetics and Design of the Character. Gogeta does look cooler if he has red hair. In Vegito's case I think the reason why he doesn't have red hair is to give the Limit Breaker Transformation a different look than SSJ4 other than the aura.

Professor Memeyy: My headcanon has always been that Super Saiyan 4 is a transformation thats appearance will always vary based on the user. I mean, just look at SS4 Goku vs SS4 Vegeta. Black hair versus brown hair, yellow eyes versus blue eyes, and two different shades of red for the fur. I always imagined that Gogeta’s unique difference was that his hair was red in that transformation

Kai Enjin: Here's why I think Gogeta has red hair. Every fusion has something unique about them. SOMETHING. Vegito's the only one who can move around even as a piece of candy, Gotenks can make exploding duplicates of himself, Kefla is the only fusion who technically achieved Legendary Super Saiyan 2, maybe Gogeta's drastically different looking forms show that he's the best fusion for Goku and Vegeta, hence the red hair of Super Saiyan 4. And not just SS4, in the Broly movie, when Gogeta turns Super Saiyan Blue, his hair is definitely a different shade from Goku and Vegeta's blue hair, and his skin tone seems to match Broly's.

Ascended 00 Hybrid: Pretty sure they just wanted to reference how Sun Wukong looks. If you look at some of the art for Sun Wukong, his hair usually has that brown/redish color.

RUSS14N: I believe that Gogeta was having a different kind of hair due to Limit Break, or when Goku and Vegeta unlocked their SSJ4, that could be one, if ur looking at Gogeta's hair (DBS) and Vegito's hair (DBS), u can see the difference of the hair (if u really dont notice it in the anime u can see it in Dragon Ball Fighters Z), Gogeta's SSB is more colored and Vegito has a lighter hair of SSB, which i really think its about the time of unlocking that, the older it is the lighter it gets or the longer u fight the lighter it gets. Similar situations: when Vegeta SSJ2 against Beerus and Trunks rage form against Goku Black. On both occasions, you see physical differences in both fighters compared to the standard SSj2 form.

Saiya6CIT: Great video, as always. I support theory number 3 about character design distiction. No I don't think it was saiyan God at all. My personal theory on why Goku's hair is pinkish but Vegeta is reddish is because Vegeta's transformation was achieved by using the blutz wave generator built by Bulma, so Vegeta is in a way a saiyan mutant with powers different to goku.

But since vegeta didnt have it and goku was able to recieve vegeta's ki it might have been that only goku's side of the fusion had god ki hence making gogeta's hair a bit more maroonish instead of the pure red one. It can even be like because the ssj god ritual did not happen properly at that time the ki might have been stored and kinda locked and vegeta's ki at the end unlocks it. Cz remember in dbz botg when there is one less saiyan in the ritual goku just remains ssj but get really strong. And when videl jumps in then he finally becomes ssj god. The same could have been here. But because goku fused with vegeta (vegeta without god ki) that's why gogeta does not have proper god ki, and only an incomplete version of it. Much like false ssj.

Alter: I think it's inspired by Vegeta and King Vegeta's original looks in the anime. Considering that King Vegeta's hair was also never changed before Super if my knowledge serves me right it makes a lot of sense for that to be the inspiration. The color red often is symbolized with power and war for example. SS4 clearly being a sort of "Primal Saiyan" makes sense for it to heavily use red as it calls back to legacy of the saiyans as a whole.

We know Goku is technically an iteration of Sun Wukong, considering his name is Son Goku in Japanese, but Goku doesn't look like Sun Wukong nor does he act like him. Sun Wukong is usually depicted as ape like, red fur, red hair and a red tail with outlines on his eyes. Sun Wukong is mischievous, arrogant, playful to a fault and ultimately considered the strongest God. SS4 Gogeta looks like him, and behaves like him, since he is clearly the strongest being in DB, and so arrogant that he toys with Omega Shenron till his fusion time ran out.

If im correct how super saiyan blue is made is the use of god ki and s cells (super cells) so if goku did have stored god ki within him while they fused it’s very well that gogeta may have entered a super saiyan blue like fusion with super saiyan four resulting in gogeta. This can be even further backed up by the fact that goku had an incomplete ritual meaning he may have needed something to push him further and trigger that god state and i wouldn’t be too shocked if it was the cliche where goku needs vegeta to reach that higher state of power

I think GT Gogeta within Super Saiyan 4 have the red hair but almost identical to Super Saiyan God but he's apart of God Ki, not fully a Godly Ki. But it's incomplete or half complete of God Ritual, plus a Super Saiyan 4 God Hybrid to give GT Gogeta hype up Super Saiyan God but better way to give him a red hair, but he's not fully a God, he's apart of God.
