The right way to go gray is the way that works for you. The first step is either: do nothing go cold? Turkey, stop dyeing your hair and let it grow out. Your second option to some can be considered very drastic. You can cut your hair, you can let your hair grow to a comfortable length to chop off the colored ends. There are some people who transition for a year or two, and then they chop.
