The best two ways to come up, your gray, to be able to go to events, holiday parties or your big birthday. It'S all coming up next, alright, ladies, this is a very hot topic. You all have asked me a million times how to get through the awkward part. What did you do? Did you just go cold, turkey? How do I go to a wedding? How am I gon na go to this? You know high school reunion. How am I gon na go to my college reunion? All of these things are really important and what are you gon na? Do you don't want to diet, because it's gon na set you back six months, it'll set you back a year, so I wanted to do a video to really address this issue. Remember when I started my gray hair journey, I was in 2015 in October. There wasn't a lot of options for me, I mean there really wasn't. I had white hair and I had black hair and I was always trying to like blend it with with. I went to Sally's, and I got this. The only thing they really had was like this. It was like a silver spray, but it was a more of a glittery kind of I feel like it helped a little bit, but then I felt like my head was very flammable. I mean really. It was like. That'S what the whole bottle said the whole time, and I always thought. Oh, my gosh. I love candles. I have candles everywhere in my house. Meanwhile, I just sprayed who knows what, on my hair, to help with the the gray, so I went to Ulta the other day and I there is one entire row. Ladies of hair, makeup, that's what it's called I was like. Oh my gosh, is this amazing? I never had any of this, I'm so happy for you, ladies because this is very easy, so the holidays are going to be coming up. We'Re gon na have so many different events. So if you are just starting your grey hair journey and you are feeling very insecure thinking, what how am I gon na do this? I don't want people to see me. You know like it doesn't. Look like I'm really growing it out looks like I missed my hair appointment for eight weeks. This is how you're gon na do it now. First and foremost, let's talk about all of your options when it comes to root touch-ups temporary color, as in 24 hours powders. All these things we're going to talk about so first, we you take a walk down this Alta row. It'S amazing! You have everything from Madison Reid. You have her ology, you have the Wow root. Touch-Up powder, I mean you even have our Adele has their own line for instant, covering gray Clairol. Oh my gosh, it keeps going on and on you have cover your gray. Can we come up with any other lingo L'Oreal? Has their boot cover up? We have gray away spray say that a couple times right, gray away spray, so we have so many options available for whatever you want to do. You want to do a powder. Now I have experience with the WoW powder. I did use that in one of my videos. It was the Robert Palmer video for addicted to love. I did a Halloween kind of makeup tutorial if he wanted to be one of the addicted to love girls. I was in his music video. I had the white had black hair and had the white gray stripe or the white silver, whatever you want to call it at a white stripe down the side of my head, and that was not the look for the video for the Halloween look. So I used the powder and it did it's a very, very dense brush. It picks up all the powder and then you place it into the hair. Now remember, my hair was super super white and it covered amazing, and on top of that I sprayed my hair with water and a pizzelle in it, and it did not budge. So that was a real testimony to me for that product really working. So I really believe in the wild powder. I think it works wonders. It comes in all different types of colors, so if your blonde, or if you're, a brunette or if you're a dark, brunette or if you have darker hair, so it's lighter hair to darker hair. I can't say enough great things about that product, so if you have the roots that are showing - and you have this wedding you're going to pick up the WoW powder - simple to use easy, it's no-brainer, I haven't had a lot of experience with the other products that Are out there, I mean there are some really interesting products. Ladies and you know one of the tricks that I did also was, I would use I would find the like, the the whitest dry shampoo. I could - and I would like try to make my hair whiter because I like well, if I keep blending it through, it was really great that this dry shampoo worked like that. So there is dry, there's dry shampoos that are with brunette coloring, with platinum colouring with blonde coloring, there's all types of options. So you can't really say you know. Oh, I had to dye my hair because I really didn't have any options or I didn't want anyone to see me like this or what have you. There are so many different options from so many different companies that I've mentioned from. I mean every price point Claire off from Oradell, so you can do this. Do I suggest mascara? That comes up a lot for me? No, I don't cuz. I did do that before and I literally got caught in a rainstorm walking my dog, and I had mascara dripping down my face and I was like this would be bad. This could be really bad if I was at an event and I got caught in the rain, so I don't suggest that I suggest sticking with the powder sticking with a temporary color that is 24 hours that is going to wash out, and it's gon na really Help you get through going to your event or doing something special where you are wanting to keep riding out this gray hair journey, but you just don't want to have everybody in the world know about it at the same time? Alright, so the second tip I have for you is, if you don't want to do that so say you're like you know, I don't really want to fuss with that. I don't want to deal with having to do powders and what-have-you. You can do scarfs. You can add a hat to your outfit. You can part your hair a different way. You can use a headband, there's all different types of things that you can do. That will help you kind of conceal the gray hair you can in it. It can be a fashion statement for you, so you don't always have to be very dramatic or or go to all these lengths to really cover up and just do a great headband or you can style your hair a little bit different or you can throw in Clip-In bangs so say you pull your hair back and it's really gray put it in a little clip in bangs and there there you go something cute, something simple something fun. So those are my two strong suggestions to get you through the holiday season. If you're starting your gray hair journey - and I congratulate you for doing it - it's not an easy road - we've all done it get support on Instagram, get support on my private facebook, beauty, reinvented group. We are here to support you. It'S really fun that you get. You start get excited once you start getting past the hard parts and there's so many tools that are there available to help you through it. So until my next video I'll see you later

Kimberly Berlin: Hi Nikol. You look fabulous today and that color is so flattering on you. I am in love with your hair, OMG it's so pretty. So, last night hubby and I went to a black tie masquerade ball and I'm 8 months into my gray hair transition. My dyed hair is fading to a lighter brown and it's super brassy and my natural hair is like 4" long of very dark salt and pepper. I was really worried about hiding the brassy party and was planning on a creative updo but then I decided forget that...I'm just gonna fix it pretty myself, pin some up, and go have a great time...so I did. I felt good and had a wonderful time. I think your attitude and confidence makes a huge difference in how other people see you. Thank you for the videos and the inspiration.

Julie A.: I used to use the Madison Reed root touch-up powder (waterproof and pillow-proof!), when I used to dye my hair. I wish I could go back in time to tell myself to go cold-turkey instead of trying to lighten it to lessen the demarcation line! I'm very happy two years later.

mary ann Gonzalez: Hi nikol great video loving my gray but these are such great tips for people starting their journey

Shirlyn’s Sleeve: I love my “silver”! I cut my hair as short as I could then let it grow out whatever color it was & never looked back. Amazes me how people watch every food they eat, use organic deodorant, toothpaste & shampoo then sit for 1/2 hr letting god knows what chemicals sit on their head.

Europa 17: I love my gray hair and transitioning to it was no big deal. I doubt most people care that much what a woman does with her hair. If they do, they need to get a hobby or find something that's really worth caring about.

Mindi Bear: Be careful, I tried a few temporary fixes and it looked great at the time but when I washed it out it turned my silver hair to a dingy yellow color. I felt like I had to start all over with growing it out. Instead I recommend buying some silver hair extensions and blend it in with your natural hair to give yourself a salt and pepper look. At least during the awkward growing out phase.

Deborah Chapa: Just let the grey go ladies. You are Gods canvas and he will do great things with your grey. I let mine go. I don’t care what people think. Women are trying to make their grey by going and having it done. Our grey is natural. They way God intended.

Serena Garces: Im so excited to see what my hair looks like. Im only 1 month dye free and its such a tease. Let um shine let um shine!!!

Niky N.: I am 3rd month without the dye and counting. Naturally dark hair, gone bottle- blonde for the 7 last years. I use vegan products from Bleach London, grey shampoo, beautifully pigmented and long lasting. I highly reccomend their "Fade to grey" tint for events where pictures are taken, holidays, etc. It covers the hair beautifully to a shade of grey that we all thrive to. It does not alter your hair in the process in any other way, as it washes out gradually. It has conditioning properties too, so win-win! I use thei hair mask, which is better than the Olaplex and all of these are not expensive at all. As well, a recent good found is Pearl Sillver range from Maria Nilla, a sweedish company-fabulous wash-off shampoos, conditioners, masks and tints. This is how I am planning to go pain-free through my transition. I do not think/ care what people think of me. Reading your book, Nikol and enjoying it very much. Sending you all much love, keep up the beautiful spirit! Hugs, Nicole.

TheGratitudeAttitude: Thank you, Nikol! I'm 18 weeks in and about ready to get a cute style... I think it's time for me to get some of the L'oreal "soft black" cut off my ends... It's so dark! I wish I could have had a nice conversation with myself years ago!) I think the best thing is for me to keep riding it out and get nice haircuts along the way. Thanks again! God bless you always ~ Maria

mommyjill2005: I use Watercolors shampoo a couple of times a week in Platinum. It helps deposit just enough of a silver color in my hair to help blend my natural grey and brunette hair while I am transitioning it out. I also got a shorter cut that helped too!

mulberry100: I used the root coverup sprays all of the time for about 4 months, then continued using them for another3-4 months for special events. Now I'm at 8 months, my gray hair is at my ears kind of too long to use those things anymore and I don't want a pixie so I'm just "dealing with it" looking strange. I prefer to keep a little longer so that I can put it up and the line of demarcation isn't so obvious. (my hair is above my shoulders but below my jawline)

Susan Ogrady: Hi Nikol, great advice, thank you, your hair looks beautiful.

Infinity Health Pilates: I’ve used the WOW brand and Madison Reed. Both are great products. Madison Reed has great color too if you dye your hair.

Lynda Wood: Thanks for the advice. Your hair is beautiful. I also have gray and black, but had it colored light brown.

Above the Clouds☁: It is hard to do always having dark hair,I am over do for my salon touch up,trying to do something myself, but people I know look at me in a strange way, when I was going to let it go. Thank You for the Great tips

Shahrzad Modiri: I am not sure why some women are shame of their gray hair. who cares what other people think. By the way You look beautiful.

Donna V: OMG! Nikol you look gorgeous today. Red looks great on you.

Sue Ram: Your enthusiasm is absolutely adorable

Jackie Marsh: Loved This Video Nikol!! Thank You For a Awesome Video!!!

Kaye Carter Daily Dose of Encouragement: Great tips

Robin L: I use batiste dry shampoo to lighten my roots a bit. No gray yet but I’m sure they are hidden within the blonde hairs. Wow.. didn’t realize all the touch up products at Ulta. ❤️

jilAngel Tuyl: Nikol, what can I do about my very thin, almost white, one very up, therefore one very down, and one with a bald spot, EYEBROWS? I really want them thicker, horizontally matching, and same color as my hair.

Mary Davidson: You look today! Love the red on you!

Monika Varro: How about just embracing the new grey hairs? Most people are sick of covering them up. That's why we ditched the dye in the first place. I can't stand putting anymore chemicals on my head. You're gorgeous by the way.
