Today I have a conversation with a color analyst and I get my color analysis done for my grey hair and find out why seasonal colour analysis is not the new method of color analysis. Have you wondered if your colours have changed since turning grey. Here are my new colors after turning gray. I also find out whether seasonal colour analysis (season color analysis) is still relevant. Has your color style changed?

I'M here having my colors done because many of you said you're not on Autumn and actually Autumn doesn't exist anymore. I'M with Color Me Beautiful. This is Jess from Color Me, Beautiful and um. I'M told they've changed the scheme anyway, so it's not kind of a winter autumn summer and spring so we'll see how we go. Let'S just put it to rest that I have got hazel eyes and I'm not a winter. That'S for sure! No such thing as winter. In our system, no no such thing as winter anymore. Previously, when you've had color analysis, you were analyzed as an Autumn. You had very warm tones and and red tones in your hair and what's happened is your hair. Color has actually gone from one end of the scale to the other. Any warmth in the hair and and the skin is the most dominant part of your coloring. Now I thought I'm warm soft yeah, I'm soft yeah, so I'm gon na I'm gon na test you with some um some drapes. I think for me. There probably isn't enough warmth left in your hair right make you warm. Okay, you've got beautiful blend of colors in your hair, but around your face. You'Ve got some really white white white. Am I filming at the moment? Oh, I think I am yes because, yes, yes, yes, I move my hand up. That'S why we'll have a look at soft? I might have a cup of tea in a minute. Would you like to have it now I'll have a cup of tea? Now to me that looks like I'm blending into it, which is what I think is supposed to happen, but I don't stand out another store. No, no! No yeah! We want Emery to walk into the room, yeah, absolutely yeah. I think it's very harmonious. That'S a good word harmonious, so this is a panel of cool colors. I think you see the color, you don't see me. I think it is lovely with your eyes. This is definitely um. Even though I hit up my eyes, I Hazel that's the thing about hazel eyes: isn't it they've got so many there's so much complexity in the color, but I think yeah, I think, by comparison. If I now slide this one away. Yes, that's more harmonious yeah. These are definitely a bit overwhelming and then the warm palette, which is much closer to where you were um on one of your previous um color analysis and again I think that's it's too there's too much strength in the colors. I agree actually um, although I wear this color a lot, but this color I have bought recently, and it doesn't look right. It looks too Stark against me, but this I do wear a lot this one against all hair. That mustard looks really beautiful, but looking at you kind of front on, I think, because there is a bit more coolness in the hair, that's closest to your face. It'S it's not the most harmonious mind you, I'm not gon na give up my mustard. I love my mustard. I love my mustard, the more of a color. There is the more important it is so if you're going to wear a polo neck or a scarf, something that's big and close to your face. It'S really crucial that that's a good color for you, because that's what we see reflected in your face, if you're enjoying this video, please remember to do this because it is making a big big difference to my uh, my channel. So thanks very much for that. If it's a um, a smaller Garden or a part of a pattern, so, for example, the top you're wearing today you've got this beautiful, embroidered um pattern. You know featuring colors that aren't necessarily in your palette. It'S less crucial and the other rule is that we're talking about the waist up yeah, if you want, if you love mustard, get some mustard trousers yeah. No, it's some! It'S jumpers and cardigans. I'Ve got in that color and yeah. Oh well, oh well! No! More mustard! There'S plenty of fabulous colors. I won't be buying any more mustard, but I won't it won't. Stop me wearing what I've got. Okay, I think you feel I think so as well. I think the salmon yeah pops out doesn't it jumps out, and I suspect this was probably a color that you had in your palette before so. This is this is where the big, the big difference, is with your hair, going from having well being a redhead. Having really warm Golden Tones in your hair, you've still got some lovely warm tones, but I think the cool ashy tones of the white hair is dominating that and in all likelihood, it'll become more dominant because more of your hair will get um cooler yeah. So in five years in ten years, you'll be even more firmly in that palette. I think that's beautiful yeah on your face and your hair. There go the Browns, so it's the same test a third time, so this is moss which is soft and warm, and then you've got soft fuchsia, which is probably the most vibrant of the lot. But I don't think it, I don't think it over overwhelms you in the way that the salmon did at the beginning. No, I agree, and that surprised me actually because it is quite because fuchsia is not a color. I would have actually changed. You know, because that wasn't in my palette before I would never have tried fuchsia against myself a lipstick as well. This would be really beautiful, surprising, yeah, it's very different, isn't it yeah, so there we go. That is a surprise. I wouldn't have expected to be able to wear fuchsia, so soft and cool I'm gon na go. I was wrong because they say they say that actually it's wrong to go by um, whether your veins are blue or yellow, helpful. No yeah. I'Ve heard that elsewhere. That, actually it's not that's, not not the guide. Now blue yeah white skin. I think it is yeah. So you, ladies who said that I was uh cool toned. You were right and I was wrong. That'S gon na be a touch of this video. I was wrong as we come to the end of my session and I have discovered I'm a soft and a cool Jess is going to tell you her Instagram, so you'll find Jess at Jess underscore wardrobes with an S at the end foreign

Luca Tolnai: As a color consultant working with natural harmonies I find it so sad that CMB hasn't made the effort to better understand human skin, genetics and proper color theory. Let me clear some things up here: humans (as most mammals) have 2 melanins that give the coloration of their skin, hair and eyes: eumelanin and pheomelanin. Eumelanin is a dark pigment that brings contrast or deepness into someone's coloring. It can either be black or dark grey (cool) or brown (warm). Pheomelanin can be anything from pure red to pure yellow (which are considered cool if mixed with cool eumelanin in case of rosy and cool olive skin tones), but in between pure red and yellow everything is warm. Peachy, ivory, bronzy, warm olive skin tones are very diverse and beautiful, and harmonize with warm colours. OK now, the other misinformation in this video is everything the consultant said about GREY HAIR. EVERYONE has grey hair when they get older. It's a natural process, our melanocites just give up producing melanins after a while. Also, most people have cooler and darker hair coloring after the age of 25 because our melanocites start producing more eumelanin than pheomelanin, but this doesn't mean that we change colour type because our hair reacts differently to our hormonal changes. Hair changes a lot based on hormonal things, it shouldn't be considered as a basis for color consultation. The only thing the consultant should be checking is your skin color, in natural light, with no makeup on. MAKEUP IS CHEATING, because it helps hiding your wrinkles, shadows, undereye bags and discoloration. You can wear any colour as long as you have foundation on, the difference won't show. I'd love to see you in a lovely muted purple, with no makeup on. I'd be shocked if it didn't emphasize your undereye bags for example. With grey hair you can still have a beautiful warm skin tone, as you do - you look quite peachy to me, and your mustard yellow will perfectly harmonize with it. Please do not ditch your warm colours, you looked perfectly harmonious in them.

Fiona Frazer: I'm of the opinion that if the colors really suited you in the first place (matched your skin tone and undertone) then they should still suit you now. If they don't , then they were wrong to begin with. I think the change in hair color just exacerbates how wrong they were.

Sue M: I'm sorry you've lost some colors you love! My hair has also changed to White in the last few years and I completely lost Brown cones and has shifted to Grays and blacks in addition to pots of color that I suddenly like, like fuchsia. I was also shocked but I could suddenly wear fuchsia. I certainly didn't get rid of everything that didn't suit my new hair right away, but I gradually found that I never pulled for it.

Cheryl Atkinson: Wearing the colors that look good on you make all the difference. Nice to have a color analyst to help you find the best colors for you to wear.

Sandra Madden: Loving this. I turn 50 next month and used to be a loud and proud autumn, wearing all those colors no one else wanted to go near, with red hair. But since I've gone gray (very much like yours). I need to find someone to help me with a color analysis too! Thank you for doing this!

Flamingo Dandy: I find as my hair goes greyer I have to amp up my colours quite a bit. I used to wear lots more pastels and neutrals when younger …. But now I have to have stronger “definite” colours in my top half. Definitely a tinge more cooler in tone but richer colours. I’d love to have my colours done because, as a guy in his 50s, I can’t add colour with a lipstick or blush…. Just a little bronzer and a shirt mostly

Helen Blunden: This was interesting thank you. All my life, I *kinda* knew which colours looked good on me but I had big questions when I decided to go out all grey. I doubted everything then. Now, I need a pop of colour against my skin too. I’m definitely cool but I need colours like deep fuschia, blackcurrant, navy blues, burgundy, greens.

Patricia Horgan: I am so glad you did this. Many people say you cannot change 'palettes' and I have been confused. I too had red in my hair when I was young - but I am completely grey now.

Cherie Parks: So, I was a "bright spring" but my once auburn hair has lost all its red and pure whites are becoming more prominent (though translucent). For now, my hair still looks like a warm light to medium brown overall. I'm finding I like royal blue, aqua, mint and teal more than I used to. However, bright corals and warm pinks still make my skin glow. It may be that I transition into cool tones later. I'll keep an open mind.

Caroline Everatt: Fuchsia looked fabulous on you. I've struggled with my Autumn label for years. Maybe time for a rerate too.

C Clark: I got some paint swatches from the hardware store and was amazed by some of the results against my skin. My current wardrobe has some great colours for me, but also some that are not so great. I would like to be much more selective in the future when shopping, and not settle for colours that aren't good enough. When I wear the right colour for me I look like a million bucks, but the wrong colours make me look so blah and average.

MrsStepford: I turn 50 next year. You look so lovely! You're an inspiration to me x

Trish Hickson: That was so interesting. I used to be a soft autumn. I still colour my hair but it’s probably cooler now, Those muted colours did look amazing on you. They’d possibly suit me. Ultimately though if you love a colour and feel good in it you should wear it regardless.

Paula B: fabulous video. I'm very similar colouring to you so this is truly "on point". I used to be an autumn and now find cooler colours to be more flattering. Grey was never in my palette and now it looks fabulous on me. I never considered fuchsia, but it it is stunning on you. Sadly, I have said good bye to the orange and mustard families. I'm finding eggplant (aubergine) colours work well with me. Again, thank you for the fabulous post

Cookie from the Great White North: Thanks for sharing this. I would love to go through this process. I lost pigment in my skin as I went grey, and am not sure what colours are best at this point.

Toni Carey: It will be a relief to see you in this new palette. I'm not an expert by any means, but the warm tones did seem off to me, and probably the mustard color, especially, I'm sorry! I think the right colors do wonders for us as we age and those soft cool colors really bring out your beauty. Looking forward to seeing where this takes your wardrobe. Thanks for sharing.

Joann Giampetruzzi: You always look perfect. But I prefer you in warm tones - soft bright warm tones - brings life to your overall appearance and complements your vibrant personality especially with graying hair.

A Mid-Crisis Life: I think... ... we should all wear what we love. What brings us joy. What's comfortable. What expresses whatever it is we want to express. Colours, styles, whatever. Simple as.

Admin2020: I am an autumn but it does make me question the theory of it all as I've seen a couple like this now where people have 'changed'. Maybe it's all just personal preference of the analyst?

Beth Culverhouse: I think the House of Colour system or Red Leopard is a more accurate color analysis. The process I just watched was very limited in scope.

Xhogun: People forget that as we age our skin pigment changes. The outer skin layer becomes thinner. The number of cell layers remains unchanged. The number of pigment-containing cells however decreases. The remaining melanocytes increase in size. Aging skin looks thinner, paler, and clear (translucent). I am surprised this wasn't part of the conversation as the hair colouring is only one part of the equation. I think this is why it can look jarring when people maintain their original hair colour artificially.

Liesl Forbes: If you were warm before, you should still be warm now. If I understand it, the underlying skin tone is the key, not the hair color and not the face color. You always looked cool and soft to me, but cameras can lie.

Melaniexb1: A wonderful trick you all influencers taught me Is keep your mustard color tops If they are solid in color Find a fun in your colors scarf or piece of jewelry necklace to wear with your mustard color :) Itvwill break it up and blend in all at the same time ;)

Beverly Griggs: This was great! I would love to see if you change your makeup to go along with your new colors! Thanks!

Kathy Sarmiento: Fun and those colors look fantastic on you!

Leslie H: I agree with this lady !

Tamera Syniec: Thank you. I am in the exact same position as you. Soft and warm, then the gray and white in my hair no longer seem to fit. I NEVER liked purples and pinks. Now I have to adjust. Thanks for sharing this video. Makes me feel like I am not alone.

Lillie Knight: I would have like to have heard about what she would have to say about white, gray and black. Also a security expert said don’t wear bright colors like that raspberry color to avoid or help to not being robbed. He said muted earth colors let a robbers eyes pass over you instead of stopping on you.

JeanEliza : I used to be a redhead but now I am silver, the browns. beiges I used to wear look awful. I love the soft colour palette suggested for you by Jess. I really liked you in the red where you asked for a thumbs up. Interested to know if that is a recommended colour for you now given the other colours we saw Jess suggest?

1 chic geek: I never thought about your colors changing as your hair changes since your hair can change to silver OR grey OR salt & pepper. I assumed it would stay in the same color family and stay warm or cool. Interesting.

Flower power: I love the light warm purple , so feminine

Polished After Sixty Yvette: Those cool tones look lovely on you. Merry Christmas

Flower power: I was autumn but now my hair is ash brown and grey salt and pepper . I’d love to get my colors done but can not find any color analysis businesses near me.

Lynn Fox: It would have been good so see your hair covered and your skin analysed seperately.

vivim29: No sorry I can't tell if I agree as the shots of your face were not clear enough. It still looks like you have a warm undertone. You definitely suit soft colours, I think the terracotta and purple together would look great together. I think if you wear too many cool colours it won't look right either.

Angela Harvey: I love the mustard on you. Please do not stop wearing your mustard jumpers they suit you and they are my favourite. Fuchsia is good but the mustard suit you.

cindi trautmann: You look pretty warm to me. Still. I liked the green and the gold on you. Fushia? Not so much.

Cy Mo: I think you are a Soft Autumn. Try Carol Brailey in Canada - for an online colour analysis. You won’t regret it.

Anita: Love the brown on you.

Kim Ghoss: I have noticed you often worn colours that completely washed you out.Always felt stronger tones would be much better for you.

JC: This is so weird. Wear what you want. I thought the last one with the mustards looked good.

Sue Salisbury: Love this!

Amma: Yup same colouring as me and also shifting with age and I can’t wear mustard well either anymore it’s just off. Sorry.

Peggie Kates: I like the bright colors on you as well

Catherine Boyle: goodness i want that done!

Karol Molpus: Soft warm.... favorite on you❣️

Esme Saunter: Although I haven't kept my figure late in life I must admit my hair has not gone grey so I think that is why people think that I may be younger than I am. Still you can't have everything.

Susquahalla Smiley: Your contrast levels have also changed a good bit. This matters

FlutterlyButterly: I'm soft and light, it freaks HoC people out that I'm not a cool or warm person, I've got very neutral leaning slightly warm, skin (tertiary characteristic is 'warm'). I do ignore it some of the time, but get heaps of compliments on my soft, tonal outfits. When I saw you in camel in a recent video, I was wondering about you being 'an autumn'. Hope you enjoyed your analysis.

Janet Daniel: Being honest I've never liked the mustard on you. I always thought you were cool toned.

Juana Delaluz: You don’t look warm at all. Perhaps neutral but definitely not warm. Go by skin tone

Estelle Scordellis: I thought you tested the colours around your face not just your hair?

Karol Molpus: Should only consider skin only......I'm an artist

Barbie c: Interesting!

Buffy S: I’m very similar to you - a petite lady with pale skin and hazel eyes. I still dye my hair though - I’m just not ready to go grey I prefer bright, jewel type colours with a bit of navy and black but I believe in wearing what you feel good in.

Karol Molpus: Guessing you are leaning towards spring warm colors....

Tammy Garrett: Wear all the colors. I am. I don't get it. I think all the colors look good on you. I'm confused. I liked them all against your face. I think there are no rules.

Joanna Nangle: Love video

Joanna Nangle: Green khaki good

S. L. Cruson: Honestly...none of the colors looked right.

Darry Guli: I do believe u needed this done as I have noticed u wear MANY colored sweaters that u pull from the closet, some from years ago
