Hi guys welcome to my made up. My name is Alex if you're wondering why a 31 year old is dressed like an e girl. I was bored, that's all I'm gon na say I was bored in quarantine and this is what happened. Today'S video is going to be a hair update. I recently made a video back in February about my one-year gray hair update, which a lot of people watched, which is very strange. If you have a small channel it kind of blew up it was soo, is bizarre. So if you want a more in-depth look at my first year of growth, you can I'll leave the video up here. So today, I'm at 15 months and you'll see my natural hair is about here, oh and if you're new, I am growing out my prematurely gray hair. So this is all my natural color up here, I'm gon na be 32. This year I started going gray at 17 and I just decided to grow it out last year after one previous failed temptin. So this is where we're at I'm really happy with the progress. I think I think once I get to about here. I might just make a big chop: I'm not really concerned with growing a lot of length um, that's just not something! I'Ve been prioritizing for the last few years anyway, but I think once it's all cut off. What'S the remaining kind of blonde silver dyed Bitzer gone, I think that I will want to grow my hair out longer, just because it hasn't been long in a while, and I think that's just like a pretty a pretty look that I just haven't been able to Do in a what in a long time, so that's what I will do. I was already doing this video before recording it. I just felt like I was coming across to like ranty about some things, so this is my second time doing this. If you're wondering why I am out of breath, I'm not a talker, so I'm not used to talking as much anyway. So if we see under here, some areas have a lot more silver in them and then some is a lot more Brown still well I'll. Do a full spin, so you can see I'll do a full 360 for you. That'S that have quite a decent amount of streaking under this bang that I just cut, which I think makes it less noticeable now, but also I was bored and quarantined. So I cut bangs, but you know my foreheads huge, so it can support things. So I'm I'm kind of digging, though, now that I have to turn around to the back. This is gon na be hard. My chair is really wide. You have to like really stretch here, just just so you know also don't judge the back, because I cut my hair myself and it's probably not even, but nobody even sees me right now anyway, so you know why doesn't matter? Ok, this is the back and the side alrighty. What do we think? I think it's pretty decent growth, I'm happy with it. I think these videos can be interesting for anybody, even if you don't have premature gray, hair cuz, it's just cool to see like progress and hair growth, because I know a lot of people are growing out different haircuts or they're growing out their natural hair colour, like This so it's cool to see like how much hair you can actually grow, and it's also sometimes also discouraging when you see like how little it is because the average person only grows about half an inch a month. So that's why you got to deal with it's a long process for sure I wanted to go over to general themes that I saw in the comments of the last video, the first one being that it's easy for me, because I have light hair, which I totally Agree with I mentioned that in the video. I believe that I understand that it's harder, if you have like dark brown, hair or black hair, because there's going to be a lot of contrast and a quite a line of demarcation. But I just wanted to say, like I really don't have blond hair like this is brown. That'S my original hair color is brown so, like I get it, it shows up quite a bit, but I just wanted to say for any of you that have that issue. I think dark dark hair with gray is beautiful. I really do like look at Claire from Bon Appetit. If you've watched that show on YouTube, it's a really good show it's a really good YouTube channel, just really funny like cast of people and good recipes. So I mean I would check them out, but chances are you've already watched it because they're a huge anyway, but she has beautiful hair. I honestly love that look. Actually. Some of the first inspiration photos I ever saw were people that had much darker hair cuz. I just think that contrast is so beautiful. It'S like you're getting natural highlights. It'S just it's awesome. So if you have dark hair, I would, I would say, don't be discouraged, know that it's gon na be a little bit more of a commitment for you, because you'll either have to lighten your hair to make it less of a contrast, get highlights or you'll just Have to go cold turkey and just kind of like muscle, your way through it and accept it, and I know it can be hard looking in the mirror, those first few months when you just have like roots, I get it because I did it when I had More of a warm brown hair too, so I get it like it's hard. There are products to help cover it, but it's really just mind over matter. I just wanted to address another comment that I got. I think from people who are older than me. There is kind of a general sense of like well it's easier for you, because you look young and some people said that I was attractive, which I mean. Thank you. That'S nice of you to say get easily is in the eye of the beholder I'll say that, because somebody also just called me ugly, so you know it is what it is on the internet but um. I totally respect that point of view. I totally get it. It is easier when you like, look younger. I totally understand not wanting to to look older. I think we all feel that, but I we want to push back and say like well. Why do we feel so afraid to look older? Why are we so scared to age? I mean I when I think about it. I think there could be two. You know certain perspectives like we could look at it from an evolutionary standpoint and say humans are on earth to reproduce. That'S the point of your existence is to just keep reproducing and continue your species on certain qualities that correlate with fertility like certain physical attributes of women are perceived as beautiful like if you have long thick, beautiful, hair kind of like a more curvier figure. You just like look more youthful glowing good skin cuz, it's just a sign of general health and then like all the curviness aside with like the childbearing hips and whatever we get that all all that aside, youth, it's kind of associated with health. So I think that could be a reason I mean that's why it's a beauty standard, because that's what we've just been attracted to for so long right so but I'd like to say that we're no longer cave people so we're much much more advanced and there's more To life than just reproducing so I think that we could push back on those beauty standards a little bit at this point and that's great because there has been a lot of body positivity movements in social media in recent years, but there's also a very, very fake Element to some of the most popular people that we see on like Instagram, for, for example, like let's take the Kardashians and think about you, know, allegedly all the plastic surgery, they've had and just people really changing their bodies and surgeries. And I mean it's sad that nobody feels like they're good enough. The way they are. It really is sad and I'm totally not against anti aging skin care, I'm not against Botox. I mean in fact I think I'll, probably get Botox at some point, because I kind of like the look of having less pronounced wrinkles, but I don't think that that means that you have to think aging is horrible. I don't know, I think it's more about how youthful you are in spirit, really that's gon na project out there into the. I just think we should all be a little bit easier on ourselves and you know be okay with aging men, for the most part are certainly okay with aging. Nobody ever gets on a guy's case for having salt-and-pepper hair. In fact, they usually think it's attractive they're like wow a little bit salt and pepper mmm distinguished distinguished man over there like it, can be the same way for women. If we let it be, if we embrace it, if we try to change our thought patterns, so that's just a huddle. I just wanted to rant about that a little bit. We can push back on that or also I had another point to this, which was oh. My other point was gon na be mortality which is dark, but I know I think, like ageing reminds us of our own mortality. So maybe that's why we don't like seeing it, but you know I think your gray hair doesn't have to be like. Oh wow, I'm gon na die soon. Yeah you can, I don't know, I think we can look at a more positive way, but that was my rant for the day feel free to leave me your comments below on the subject yeah. I just wanted to talk about those two things, because I just think we really need to change the way it's seen and the way we can do that is by more women kind of accepting their hair and showing younger women too, that it's okay. To have this premature gray, hair, it's literally just your hair losing pigment, it doesn't have to be this horrible scary thing. It doesn't have to be seen as so bad. You may get made fun of. I know like even I do it to my boyfriend, sometimes cuz. He only has like a couple and he's the same age as me. I'M like look at this little gray, hair or like in his beard. I just don't think it has to be that serious and if you want me to make any more videos about the subject matter, please let me know in the comments I'm definitely open to doing anything like that. Cuz yeah. I obviously have some experience now. It is pretty great runs to the family. My brother is younger than me and have like a full gray beard. They'Re crows in the patches and his friends certainly made fun of him for that too. But you know what I think it makes us cool and unique, and I want you to feel that way about yourself: wow, there's just a hair floating way to ruin my inspirational speech hair - and I just want you to feel that way about yourself too. We'Re in this together, if you want to come along on this journey with me, please do so and share any of your gray hair stories down below it too. All right guys! Thank you so much for tuning in. I want you to remember. Don'T just make up your face, make up your mind too, and I will see you next time. Goodbye

Kimberly Berlin: Speaking about men and their S&P hair...."It can be the same way with women too, if we let it". Bravo! I totally agree. Society needs to start seeing silver hair as just another color. We love silver cars, silver jewelry, and I love silver hair. You look great btw.

Dorothy Paul: I am older and have been letting my gray grow in during this time. I am so grateful to you young women who are letting your premature gray come in. Doing this makes gray hair not just an age thing but just another hair color. You look beautiful btw!

Susanna Hellmuth: The transition from grey at the roots to blonde at the ends looks a lot more natural and beautiful now than it did 3 months ago! Very very very beautiful

Jene Soleil: I’m going through transitioning to gray, and I know gray hair will make me look older. But looking younger is far less important to me than the freedom of no longer having to dye my hair.

ruta crane: lol hey hey, this is cute! I'm 31 too and i have like 5-7 gray hairs which I'm sooo excited about! i relate cuz quarantine got me inspired to go back to my natural hair color which is really light brown - dirty blonde but I've been dying my hair dark red since i was 12, so now at 3months the demarcation line is huge and its an awkward color way, so i can really relate to ppl going gray.

Jleask354: This has made me feel so much better, i'm 26 and have suddenly noticed loads of grey and white hair throughout my hair that i've never seen before, some of it is a good few inches long too and I had such a panic over it! Neither of my parents went grey early, they're both 50 and have only just now started to get a couple of greys here and there so I felt really shit about mine. Feel less stressed about it now knowing it happens to other people too and yours looks so good!

Blessed Page: I love it! I am also letting it go au naturale at 37 :) I have some videos while singing and my transition is already showing. I am so happy for you! I am still braving it...

musicmama: I saw your 12mo. Thanks for the update, looks great!

Bebe: Hahahha your intro got me! I’m 32 and just so relatable hahaha! Growing my greys too girl! May the universe bless you and yours!

Tara: Looks great! I’m about 16 months in, but had to bleach my dark brown hair first.

crybully: It’s awesome that you have so much silver already in your hair. I have too few in my dark brown hair that it looks like pieces of tinsel... I’ve pulled out about 30 long strands, but why? I don’t want my hair to thin so I’m not going to pull another. The good thing is I don’t have a grow out line, but I think it’s just going to take a long time to go full gray.

Sidibay In the City: Looks really nice! Thanks for sharing.

Zahra: Wow you're 31? I thought you were 24/25! You look so much younger and your hair looks stunning! ❤

Michaela S: Really liked the way you were talking about growing out grey hair and about woman ageing ☺️ i am 25 and i have naturally brown hair, but when i realize i have grey hair, i will let them grow out just like you

Tatiana Araujo: I loOove the way you talk and present yourself. You're very wise for such young age...Kuddos for being such a Good Role Model for girls all around. Way to go! Please, add me to the list of people that finds you BEAUTIFUL!!!

Punkydoodle: Are you glad that you bleached your hair before starting the transition? I ask because your grey looks very similar to my own and I just bleached my hair very light blonde so I can start the transition process myself. I had heard going from blonde to grey is an easier transition than brown to grey. I'm honestly a little worried how dark my new growth will be next to the blonde but when I see your hair it gives me a lot of hope.

Renad Tariq: Actually this grey color looks breathtaking on you, i like it girl and it matches your eyes and skin perfectly ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

kiliesmom: My bf and I argue about whether Claire from BA has that streak naturally or if she dyes it in. I think it's natural.

Elaine Boyd: Your hair is beautiful!

Carol Fudali: Your hair is such a beautiful colour! I’m sure people will think you’ve paid lots of $ at the hairdresser to get that colour! BTW, love your eye makeup!

monique niesley: I too am at 18 months of grow out as a blond to silver white. Looked ombré....however drove me crazy. Just got Overtone in pastel silver about one month ago and wow, I match. Can’t even tell I am growing out! Try before you cut. Your new growth is fantastic! It is beautiful.

Aurora Charming: When did you bleach the brown, and how'd your hair cope with that? I'm 2 months in. Hair closest to the roots is medium brown and gradually turns orangey

Rosario Tato: You're great! Don't be bored at quarentine... I prayed a lot (I'm catholic) and it helped me a lot. What colour have you dyed your hair? Silver? I probably will do that. It's beautiful. You are beautiful with your hair. Amazing. Thank you for your video.

Ruqaia Alabdalla: don't cut it looks so beautiful

Anonymiss Patriot: You should try MSM...it makes your hair grow super fast...I just turned 40 in June but started going gray at 14...MSM and liposomal vitamin c has made my hair grow about 4 inches in 3 months....

Rene Pena: I think you’re awesome!

cherrybloosom89: You should make a video how you cut your hair. It looks good!

Nicole Bee: I'm 29 and my grey hair is white and my moms hair is all pure white as well. At first it was a chunk like stacy London and one at the nape of my neck.

Elaine Lamoureux: Your hair is really pretty

Faith Reyes: I like your natural color!

Bronte McGillis: you remind me a lot of the actress betty gilpin. great video!

Cath HL: It's very nice because you look young. The juxtaposition is very interesting. S&P hair looks a little messy if not carefully maintained. Anyway, I'm going to stop colouring my hair...

Susanna Hellmuth: It looks like an expensive as hell grey to silver ombré

Preston Towne: Beautiful on u...

Rita Gaston: Imo just let it grow longer and leave the lighter ends ... looks like bayayage and interesting.

Cath HL: Is there a video on hair care?
