Hey everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by my video to watch my relaxer hair update and length check. I'm officially approaching armpit length now, and I will not cut it anymore! WELL, I'M NOT MAKING ANY PROMISES, THOUGH. LOL, My focus for my hair last year was figuring out a simple hair care routine that works for me and remaining consistent to see the health before achieving the length. I've completed that goal with a solid hair routine, and now it's time to grow it! I still have some things that I am improving, but overall I am pleased with my progress despite getting sick and discovering my iron deficiency. I retouch my new growth every 10-16 weeks (depending on stretching goals) with ORS No-Lye Relaxer in "normal." I go to the salon for a trim/dusting with every retouch.

Hey everyone. It'S me Megs and I am back with a relaxed update. I know it's been a little minute, so I'm here to share with you guys some updates when it comes to my relaxed hair. So if you are not up to date and you may need a little update - it's been about we're approaching about three years back relaxed. So I was natural for about three years and I returned back to relaxing my hair December 2019. It just seemed like yesterday. I am still self-relaxing and I do use RS olive oil relaxer in normal and it's been working out pretty well. For me, this is actually a relaxer, that's near and dear to me that I just you, know, have a long relationship with I've been using this relaxer on and off since 2008 and y'all know how much I love um RS olive oil products. So I do relax my hair every 10 to 12 weeks and I do trim my hair every 10 to 12 weeks as well. That'S how I kind of keep track of when to trim my hair is with every relax or retouch. So if you guys remember last year, I did chop my hair off to like chin length, and that was the shortest my hair has ever been, and I was actually really enjoying the shorter length. Hair really love a bob haircut. So that's why I cut my hair in October last year. Just so I can enjoy the shorter length hair for a little bit longer because listen, I was really enjoying the shorter hair, because one wash day and hair routines was a breeze. It took a lot faster and I was starting to notice throughout this year. I'M like okay, my routine is taking a little bit longer, taking a little bit longer, because my hair is indeed growing out and I'm like excited y'all. So I promise I'm not going to be cutting my hair anymore. I have been doing my trims this time around on this hair journey. I am very particular about my ends and how my hair is retaining its length and how it looks overall. So I am really happy with how my hair is growing out. My ends are still doing very well. I still do get my routine trims, I'm actually due for a trim in about a week. So I'm going to hit up my stylist like hey. I need a little trim, let's get it together because I feel, like I have noticed with me. Keeping up with my trims. My grow out looks a lot better than what it did back in the day. I am really focused on the health of my hair over length, which is why I wasn't really in a rush to grow out my hair so quickly. I wanted to take care of my hair and make sure it looks good over length, but my hair is flat ironed again. So that's how I know my hair is doing pretty. Well is how well it flat irons that was a actual goal of mine is to make sure my hair stays healthy. So when I flat iron it it looks good. I actually do not put a lot of heat on my hair this time around, especially this year. I have not been doing a lot of heat really at all. This is actually my first heat pass since I had the covet. I had got sick y'all. I was messed up and I will say when I was sick. I feel like my hair was affected. A little bit and I'm trying to make sure that I keep my hair in Tip-Top shape and things like that, and I feel like it's starting to come around it's something when I have the covet that my hair just seemed to be going through something I don't Know if I'm tripping or what, but I feel like me and my hair, I'm just now, starting to really feel like myself again from being sick with the c word, and my hair is actually starting to um. Look, you know a lot better as well, not to say that my hair looks bad and it just went through something traumatic or dramatic, but I just noticed little things because I sit with my hair. Often I just noticed something different that was going on when I was recovering from covet, so yeah my ends are still looking really really good and I'm very satisfied with them. Now there are some things that I do want to work on when it comes to my hair and it's still the front area. I'M trying to make sure that my front area stays nice and full because that has always been a slower growth rate than the rest of my hair. So I'm still working on that and I also want to get back into deep conditioning twice a week. I know some people have different opinions and their reservations about how often you should deep condition or shouldn't deep condition. But I just know from my past routines in order to get the kind of results that I'm looking for. As far as overall hair Health. Deep conditioning twice a week when I did that back in the day was like on point and I still am using Jamaican black, castor oil, and I am massaging my scalp once to twice a week. Even with my busier schedule. I think I'm doing pretty good with keeping my hair on point with me going to work every day as well. I found it best for me to do protective styles, so I've been wearing a lot of wigs as well, and I'm trying to avoid pulling my hair back and using a lot of edge controls, even though I love a cute baby hair moment. This is my first time doing baby hairs in a couple months now. So, yes, I don't do too much manipulation around the hairline and things like that, and I try to switch up my Styles as much as possible, especially being that the front of my hair tends to be the most fragile um. So that's what I've been doing. It'S just really a journey and it takes a lot of patience when it comes to. You know caring for your hair and things like that and y'all. I got some gray hairs really coming in in my crown area, and you know what I don't know what to do. So. I am open to suggestions. As far as you know, what do you guys use to cover your gray hairs? Because because a part of me is not really mad at it either because it looks like glitter, like my gray. Hairs are kind of like glisteny, like they're shiny, it's a blessing to age as well, so I'm not really mad at it. But it's kind of like sometimes it kills the style. You know what I mean, but you know I was just gon na leave it alone, but you know I'm open to suggestions um. If you do have any and you're relaxing you cover your grades. What do you use? Do you use something temporary, or do you use um, something that's a little semi-permanent? How do you go about that, because that whole world is a little scary to me, because I'm not really educated on what I should do or how to do that properly, so I'm open to suggestions, okay, so yeah. I think that is about it for now. If you do have any questions about my um routine or anything, I do have a regiment, video and product video here on my YouTube channel that I also have linked down in the description below so also. Let me know if you do have any questions about anything and I'll be happy to answer that for you and as always, thank you guys so much for watching and I'll see you in the next video

Hairlicious Inc.: Girl my crown be glittering, too! I’m learning to embrace itGreat update Megz!

SDeNise05: I had C-vid in July and my hair was definitely going through it for some months. It felt so thin and lifeless and got shorter it’s finally starting to feel better. The Mielle rosemary growth oil and the hair growth gummies are the truth.

Wunmi Williams: you're my hair twin ! fine hair with slower growth in the front. I've loved watching your journey!

mchynadoll: Hey Megs! Your hair looks great. Im actually currently going through the Covid shedding and extremely dry scalp and scalp tenderness. I got Covid in May and my hair started shedding in August. I lost hair more so in my edges than anywhere else. It kind of reminds me of postpartum shedding smh. I bought the Nioxin Scalp Recovery Cleanser which seems to be helping so far with my scalp. Im hoping it will stop soon.

AbsoluteMdot: Your hair looks beautiful! I have relaxed hair and it's fine too. It grows very strangely. I noticed the left side grows fast than the right.

missninabug: Your hair looks great Megan. I love watching your haircare videos. The big C does do a number on hair. When I caught it, there were puffs of afro all over the house. My hair was severely damaged, but like yours, it's starting to grow back.

Notonmywatch: You’re relaxed again?! I was curious as to how your natural hair journey went but excited to watch this unfold.

CutiepieCaramel: Your hair looks great ! I remember that ORS is your truest love. My plan for grays is to use henna (followed by indigo) . However, I grew out my relaxer years ago. There's a special process for doing it with relaxed hair. I believe you have to do it after relaxing your new growth, not before. It's a protein deep conditioning treatment, but it can interfere with relaxing your new growth if you do it beforehand. It's a bit messy and smells like the earth, but the results are nice. Let me know if you try it .

Kemi Kunle: I enjoy watching your videos. I do have to say that during quarantine, I was forced to use the ORS relaxer you use on my hair instead of my typical professional relaxer. Please note I always self-relax. That relaxer DESTROYED and I mean DESTROYED my hair. I am still recovering. I highly advise that you change relaxer brands. That stuff is horrible. I would rather go natural (I haven't been natural since 5 years old) than go back to using that!

Joy Deja King: Looking gorgeous Megz And we appreciate the relaxer update. Always informative.

Claire Aletha: Meg’s you need to start taking zinc supplements to keep the grays away

rqhstlouis: Try massaging with rosemary oil. Also, I thought my front area was growing slower. Til I stopped doing and using certain things on my hair. I’ve switched to satin scrunchies and satin pillowcases. I suffer from trichotillomania, and I’ve gotten better over the years with that. That has been a game changer.

Mary Taylor: I use henna and indigo every 3 to 4 months. A week after I relax my hair. Makes my hair feel stronger. It's chemical free. I love it.

C A: Hair looks so healthy.

Kalisha J: Your hair looks wonderful!! It's coming along very nicely. I don't do grays and being that I have some that just grow in gray I use semi permanent cause I don't have time nor do I want to do permanent on the regular. I get fun with it though and use fashion colors, currently I'm rocking a forest green and violet is one of my faves but I'm sure black does the job too, lol.

goldmouth100: Hey Megs...I have some grey hairs and I am relaxed and I use Clairol Beautiful Collections 'Advanced Grey Solutions' for my grey hair. It is Semi Permanent..It covers really well for a few weeks and when you just want to see your greys again it will soon wash out....and they come right back like normal... but if you are gonna be deep conditioning 2 times a week...I'd say just leave the grey hair alone... because you are gonna wash the color out as soon as you put it in lol... and JUST SAY NO to trying any PERMANENT HAIR DYE.. NO NO NO... ♡♡♡

Shakerra Smith: Hey Megs, I use a semi permanent color called just 5. I use it the same day I relax.

teemoneybaby: My sister had COVID really bad and her hair is still super thin two years after.

Tasha Sneed: I had covid in July by September my hair was coming out so bad. I go my hair done and my stylish noticed my edges had become so thin. I've never had thin edges. My dr said yes some people lose hair after covid and especially in the edges. My hair has finally stopped shedding so much. I got a liquid iron and vitamin from sprouts to help grow my hair back.

Pam Renee': OMG!!!!!!! I CAN'T GET PASS HOW BEAUTIFUL YOU LOOK!!!! YOUR SKIN IS FLAWLESS ❤❤❤

dove 95: Your hair looks lovely

AppleAmor: Your body was literally going through hell. Your hair actually was falling out. You aren’t tripping. The body is trying to save itself. It’s not going to redirect nutrients to your hair follicles. We make color bombs all the time for clients with colored hair. It’s simply a treatment mixed with semi permanent color. You can use this every time you shampoo. It’s completely safe.

Pamela73: You are not alone. The C word causes hair shedding and breakage issues.

Tammy Lockhart: Henna covers your gray really well and it’s also natural.

0tismadaline: Hair looks gorgeous dear, you are looking absolutely gorgeous healthy hair goals

Selah Brooke: Leave those grays alone. It is a sign of wisdom.

Rhonda mcdonald: I do a black rinse after perm. And I dye 4 weeks after perm. I only use Bigen dye. Never had an issue. I perm 3x a year or every 4 months. My hair is almost waist length.

Marilyn Martin: Yes, your hair is lovely. How do you deep condition 2 times a week? Wouldn’t that be too much shampooing on relaxed hair? I’m asking because I’m interested in doing this if it’s beneficial. Thank you for any tips!

kabbyhearts: It looks great. But I definitely can't go back to a relaxer. I would get chemical burns all the time and my hair would break out like crazy. But I do feel that now days we have way more products to help with managing natural and relaxed hair.

Jesus child: Your grey hairs is beautiful

ROSE OLIVER: Thank you for sharing keep up the good work looking forward to seeing as always loved your VIDEO keep them coming

Rsvltdiva: Back in November I got my natural hair colored reddish brown cause them grays were bugging me out my mother pointed them out to meI was like no ma’am.

Brandy Kenoly: Just let that gray come in. Gray gracefully!!

Nadjy Joseph: Hi Megz, try Vegamour gro ageless the hair supplement and hair serum. Will help for your gray hair

stephanie moore: My rinse of choice is Ms. Clariol Spiced Cognac and it look light highlights on the grey hair. I currently have so many that I decided to embrace the grey and stop using g any color. You are young and beautiful let the grey shine through.

Love lite: Meg ORS hair relaxer should really put your picture on that box relaxer; you represent very well and always have gorgeous beautiful results! If I ever self relax I will be using this product

SecretsSweets: Love it❤

Georgette Thomas: You look wonderful

Lyn Brown: Thank u fr the hair and life updates...ive bn waitung.....looking great and am glad u r all better...my the lord continues to keep u healthy...in Jesus name...

Maxine Williams: My hair fell out after covid, edges look like I had postpartum hair loss

It's Fefe777: You look so pretty!! You are doing an outstanding job with your hair. Are you doing something different? Your hair looks thicker.

God’s Precious: Taking care of your hair whether relaxed or not is always good advice! Your makeup is awesome

Qatt The Jamaican Girl.: I used onion juice to get rid of my gray hairs, so if you want you could incorporate it you hair routine.

EJay: i don't cover my grays anymore but clairol gray solutions works the best. It is semi-permanent and you can use it directly after relaxing.

Rigat Baliho: Good job sister

CC§Gemini: I have gray hair in the across my hair line and I use ION semi-permanent hair color. Does it cover the gray yep until the 1st wash but gray hair are temperamental to color and I will not bleach my hair. It’s not that serious.

lfutrell82: I embrace my grays.

SweetBrownSuga504: I bet you are right. As the elders say listen to yourself if something doesn't feel right.

Denver Johnson: I don’t cover mine I pluck them with tweezers lol

ROSE OLIVER: Glad you are doing better

MzBunny2790: My hair started thinning after Cvid. In 2021 I shaved it bald. Now it’s thick again but I also started being more gentle with it.

305_momi: I have a few greys in my part too. To hide them I move my part. To prevent them I use Ayurvedic scalp and hair oil. I got a pack of herbs on Amazon and I soak them in various oils for a week or two. Strain it out and do the overnight greenhouse method. Works excellent for growth, thickness and preventing greys

sonata1618: Ok so I thought it was just me, my scalp became extremely dry when I had Covid and my hair was shedding. It’s finally back to normal

Fun with Jayceon: I thought that if you dye your grey hairs, they’ll turn that brownish color..‍♀️‍♀️

Because_I_Have_To:

Celeste roberts: Amla oil and Henna is a good natural dye. Not a harsh chemical

Ashley White: OMG My hair has lost its density and I can't help to think that it's COVID because that's when my thinning started. I mean, my hair is usually pretty thick but now for some reason, the middle is just flat when styling. Its annoying.

lovelyjavid: You’re so pretty Megs! I missed your face

Phalisa Tumblin: OMG!...I've seen some of your old video's ...what happened to all that long gorgeous hair? that looked healthy by the way

Bridge Bee: Your hair looks beautiful and bouncy

Alexandria Edwards: Love you beautiful

Jackson's Piano: Megz you are glowing! So dang gorgeous! Your hair looks so full and healthy and I cant see what covid has done to it. So, my question is, what does covid do to hair? Maybe I should look this up lol!

Mira Rae: How often are you getting your trims?

Antoinette Roberts: It's the best. It's the one I've always used.

Charita Bonds: Embrace it I do nothing ☺️

FashionSense518: Hi Meg. Why did you leave the natural hair world after the 3 years?

Lillie Mcbride Williams: Hi you are always beautiful I just start using black seed oil get something natural your hair is beautiful ❤
