Hey guys, my name is maria, and today i'm going to be bleaching. My hair - and this is my natural hair. It'S very dark. I do actually dye my hair dark brown, like black brown, usually with a box die. I know bauxite is horrible, but i've been doing it almost every six months. Last time i did it was about two months ago, and i have asked hairdressers in the past if they could get my hair from this to a light. Platinum blonde, but they've all told me that they can't, and they told me that they can't even do it. In multiple sessions they just said they can't do it over my really really black brown box side hair and they said they can never get me there. So i actually stopped trying i've been wanting to dye my hair like this for about two years, and i know it's a process i'm prepared for that. I don't want to destroy my hair. I know it will be destroyed. I want to kind of let it breathe in between the processes and now during quarantine. No one's going to see me i'm kind of nervous. You can obviously tell, but i wanted this for a long time and i've researched a lot on youtube. I'Ve watched so many bleach videos. I'Ve watched a lot of brad mondo's videos, so i hope i don't get on his page as a fail, but we shall see. I can't believe i won, i'm actually planning one. It actually worked. Another thing is that a lot of times they will correct it like hairdresser, will be like yeah. I can correct your already blonde hair, but they don't want to work on my hair and i know it's way more expensive to get a color correction, but they just don't want it like they don't accept the challenge. They don't want to work with this they're like oh, it's too dark you already processed it with black brown dye. So no, but like what am i supposed to do, you know so without further ado, i'm going to show you the products um from researching. I found out that blond me bond enforcing lightener is the best it lifts up to nine levels, we'll see if that works, but i hope it does. I also noticed that the hair salon that i wanted to you know lighten my hair. They were using this in their insta stories and on youtube. Everyone talks about this, so i think this is the best bleach. There is like on a more affordable version and i got the 20 volume so 6 hydrogen peroxide, it's the developer, i'm not a hairdresser. So i don't know these things, but i did do a lot of research and this is everything that i know just from watching videos. So please don't come for me: okay, that's just a disclaimer and then i watch brad, mondo's video and in his video he said that he uses a 30 volume developer, usually and that's what's recommended and because i have such dark hair. I thought i think i should use that, so i got a 30.. This is a nine percent uh hydrogen peroxide, and this is the developer i'm going to start out with today. I also bought the blonde me line of toners. I don't know if this is the best kind. Everyone always has wallet 18., but i don't know. I just thought: if the developer is amazing and the bleach is amazing, maybe this would be so i bought them in tea ice and uh. I bought two because i have really long hair, but the thing about this is: you can only put this on like a level nine or a level 10 hair, i'm a level like one or two. I don't know one is black and two is like dark brown, but this is somewhere in between, i guess more toward one anyway. You can't put this. I learned on hair unless it's light enough, like a very like inside of a banana and until i get to that hair from bleaching it i will not put on toner because it doesn't do anything it just toner just deposits pigment, it doesn't lighten your hair. So i'm not gon na make the mistake of putting this on yellow hair and not getting results and complaining about it. So yeah, i'm not doing it by myself. I'M having someone help me and you know do it for me. So i'm lucky with that, because i couldn't do it all myself honestly, i just i don't have that kind of hand. So i like to straighten my hair a lot and because of that the ends are kind of just broken and i was actually going to cut my hair myself because i can't go to the hairdresser during quarantine, but instead of cutting it, i thought what if i Went blonde and then i know i found out that you should cut your hair after you bleach it just because it's going to be so damaged and i thought why don't we just bleach first and then cut your hair. So that's what i'm gon na do. I didn't wash my hair for about eight days now. Um. I know that's a lot. It'S the grossest thing ever. I'Ve never left that much before, but i heard that you have to let the oils from your scalp. You know kind of saturate their hair follicles just because it helps against the bleach, and i don't want my scalp to kind of fry that much it's gon na fry, but i hope it doesn't hurt. I mean i've, never bleached, my hair, so i don't know. I guess i'll see you once i bleached it the first time. Oh no wait. So i started with the ends at two o'clock and at 2 40. We were finished with the ends and we went in with the roots and we finished from 240 to three. So at three we were done with the roots and now i'm going to leave the roots on for about 20 minutes and then take it all off. I know you're supposed to leave the ends for about 40 minutes, but because we started at two and we rolling down by 240. I don't want to over process my hair, so i'm just gon na take it off in about 20 minutes. It does sting a little bit just a tiny bit in some areas. The rest are fine um. Obviously i didn't do this by myself, because it's hard what i can recommend is to wear a long sleeve shirt, because sometimes some flicks of my hair would you know, hit my arm and i would have to like clean that off. I will see you guys once i shower this out in 20 minutes yay, honestly kind of pretty scared, because this is the first time i'm bleaching, my hair and i've never seen myself blonde. So this is me the next day after it's dried and everything and, as you can probably tell, i have very, very very uneven hair. I was not prepared for this all the videos on youtube. I'Ve seen they either bleach your hair too much that it falls off or it just turns, yellow all the videos i've seen they mostly have even hair, maybe a little bit of an unevenness, but not to this extent. This is like crazy, just be prepared. If you have box eye this might happen like it did to me. I wasn't so not expecting it and i even have like a little zebra stripe going on right here. It looks totally crazy. I don't know how that happened and obviously, like you, can tell the parts that were put on first. These parts turned orange. This is box side hair, but like left more and then this part, i left it on for like about 40 minutes and this one like an hour, and you can obviously tell because this is like an orange and then this is like a dark, reddish brown. So what i'm going to do today is just do this again, i'm not going to bleach my roots again, just because they're over processed and they're, very yellow, and so i'm just gon na hit the ends that remain dark brown, and i know it looks pretty fried, But at the same time i didn't cut my split ends, so i have that going on which i will take care of after the bleaching process. So i had someone help me and put in the foils and i basically only did the ends and i left the roots because they're already really really yellow and i'm gon na. Let this sit for a little bit and then wash it out. So i'm doing the other side of my head right now and this time i wrap my foils in this bag. Just to add to the warmth just to make it a little bit warmer because i feel like the ends weren't processing, because it wasn't that warm and maybe this might help we'll see hey guys. This is how it looks like after bleaching it the second time, and i only reached the ends, and this is how it came out. It'S really really orange. It looks so bad but hey at least it's all, even in the sense that, like it's all orange over here and hopefully it will lighten to the shade of my roots, but for now i'm gon na leave it a little bit. So my hair can rest um. I didn't strain it or do anything, so this is how my hair naturally looks like really frizzy. It'S obviously fried a little bit, but it doesn't feel like it just looks really crazy, but it always looks like that unless i straighten it. So, oh well, you know, but on the bright side my hair didn't fall out at all in the shower. It still feels pretty soft, maybe a little bit dry. Obviously it's damaged, but it doesn't feel bad. It feels pretty good. It needs so much bleach to get to white, so i'm just gon na have to wait and try the process. I guess

Thicney Tears: I was an almost cosmetologist so i just wanna say something really quick- When the salon says they wont do it, it's not because they think it's impossible, it's because they're afraid of the damage it might cause your hair because that can become a liability for them! In other words it's better for them if you fuck it up yourself because then you can really only be mad at yourself. There's like a 50/50 chance it could work always! i think they were scared because of the 7 years of box dye lol.

Gi Gi: Girl they tell me the same thing. So here I am watching videos to do it on my own lol thank you so much for your video

Aileen: As a hairdresser it is possible to go platinum blonde with black hair however many hairdressers refuse to do so as it is very damaging it can easily go wrong and it takes a long time/ multiple appointments! Many hairdressers don’t like to challenge themselves as they are scared that it may go wrong and don’t wanna deal with clients anger or they are completely lazy

toxicitay: to avoid hot roots start applying only from the middle to the ends to start with and then after you’ve processed halfway then do the roots (you can also use a lower developer for the roots too). If you’re ends are really damaged you can do the same and leave the ends outs until you do the roots too!

Miss Dramatica: I bleached my hair yesterday using the exact same blond me 30% using a partying technique I saw another hairstylist do but I didn’t leave it long enough to get the level I wanted it. Now it’s like a brassy tone and the back is uneven but your video gave me hope that I can fix it. This was super helpful!

Liz Hale: girlll. Always start the timer AFTER you applied the bleach you dont count the exact minutes since starting the bleaching process. Your supposed to leave it on for 45 minutes AFTER its all applied. Also, always remove cheap box dye from hair with color remover before bleaching

Mal: my hairs like a really dark brown naturally and i want to dye it so i’m here watching this, honestly this video has helped so mcuh more than any other video i watched, ty and the blonde looks amazing <3

Bryanna Lujan: I was so scared of my hair falling off with bleach (I have Virgin hair) but then I watched all your videos and how many times you bleached it so I’m pretty confident . I was so tempted to bleach it again the next day but I’m so glad you included your mistake of not waiting so I guess I’ll be patient thanks for your videos!

Bre Weirwood: PRO TIP!!! If you have already dyed your hair before, and do not want uneven color. Where some is white, some is yellow, and plenty is brass orange... I recommend "Color Oops" hair color remover! It has no bleach or ammonia in it! It smells HORRIBLE, like rotten eggs, but it seriously works! My hair is naturally dark brown. But my dye was Red which is a very difficult color to remove! Color Oops removed all the red dye! My hair came out a golden "dirty blonde"... like a level 6 or 7 blonde... I wanted to do this first, so it would not be as damaging to my hair, as trying to bleach multiple times would have been! Anyways, I then deep conditioned my hair many times as I let my hair rest for two weeks. It wasn't damaged, but I just wanted to ensure I had the healthiest hair possible, in preparation of bleaching! And to be even more gentle as possible, I used the BlondeMe 20 volume oil developer! Refused to go higher than a 20 volume! Plus this one claimed it would moisturize my hair. With the BlondeMe Bleach which says it has Bonding agents in it to help protect the strength of your hair. Lastly, I used this brand because I noticed almost all professional hairstylist in videos seem to use this brand, so I wanted what professionals seem to like! *I only had to bleach my hair ONCE, for 35 minutes, to achieve a level 10 blonde! With only a little yellow in it! Which toning fixed!* Bare in mind my hair was no longer very dark after the Color Oops to remove my red. So that's probably what it lifted to the lightest blonde level so quickly! But I was blown away by this brand of bleach & developer! It was not nearly as damaging or harsh as the L'Oreal quick blue I'd used YEARS ago prior to being red! Yet it was powerful enough to get the job done! After bleaching & toning, I let my hair rest again for a few days! Did a deep condition mask again, just to be safe & take good care of my hair. Then I went in with a Silver Grey hair dye, because that's what I was aiming for. Smokey Silver-Grey! And it turned out perfect & even! Thanks to the bleaching & toning I did beforehand!

deltadayseed: Girl they told me the same thing. They said I can't go from black to blue without many sessions. I really don't wanna spend so much money just to get blonde enough. I dye my hair like every month lmaooo. So I'm buying the level 9 as well as the 20 developer and I really hope it works for me and doesn't damage my hair greatly. I have half side shaved that's about shoulder length so wish me luck!

Abigail Cosma: I love the video! If you go back to black and want blonde again definitely try argon oil color fix from sallys! It will pull a lot of the box dye out and save some damage :)

Cla rim: I love your hair. Hairdressers always told me the same thing, that its impossible to go blonde from black. I dont understand all those hairdressers who say so, nothing is impossible for those who can do their job, i mean theres no point in demotivating people, i just think most of hairdressers are not able to make black hair people blonde otherwise they would find a solution

Corinna Gallo: Finally I found someone who has the same hair problem when bleaching

Janusz Kubala: Actually you look lovely after 1st session. I have bleached m hair (short) to have them snow white, but it took me 3 sessions using 12% peroxide. I've left half of them on my comb yet they have ability to regrow really fast so they are dense and black again ... fck .

Mauricio Rodriguez: Fact: bleach does not remove old hair color. You need to use a color remover for that

T Z: I just watched Brad Mondo's bleaching/coloring tips yesterday. He said to use a color remover first to remove the box dye color... Then bleach your hair. I dyed my hair using box hair dye but I want to dye my hair purple. I have a long process ahead.

Taina Perez: This video was very informative

Kristie Oneill: You should of used pravana color extractor then bleached it its better to use a color remover when you have box dye then bleach

Mish: Think they refuse it because you can have varying results from dark box dye. Sometimes it just doesn't lift and they've shown me. I have had a hairdresser accept the challenge and it was nearly black. They did it gradually but she did try for maximum lift. The lady had bleached blonde hair so she knew the process and she had more experience with bleaching clients hair that was more of a challenge. With box dye it does pick up more reds and oranges and it's more difficult to get out. So it did turn out a lot lighter. Just think they don't want to fry your hair off and give you too high expectations and then you don't like it.

Jane Smith: I think you would have done better in the beginning if you had done a color removal before bleaching. It takes a lot of that box dye out so the bleach can do its job. Live and learn. Judging by the thumbnail in part 2 it looks like you got figured out eventually so all's well that ends well. Thanks for the video and for being brave enough to face the wrath of Brad Mondo. Lol!

Pink4life: The hairdressers couldn’t even say yes to lighten my hair tips for a dip dye so I’m here

Rose Trelly: i had a salon completely FRY my hair when i was trying to go blonde from black. i'm so scared to try to get light again but i want to sooo bad :,) my roots are a medium blonde and the mids and ends are different shades of brown. i literally am tbis close to doing it myself cuz of what the salon did to my hair lol

Lee Lisa: Thank you so much for your video. It looks like a good high quality product. I have purchased 4 bottles...

Heather Anderson: You can do it girl! I did it and Ill never go back lol we’ll maybe one day lol but not for along time.

S Bee: I don't know why they told you that. I went from 6 years of black box dye to blonde hair. It is definitely possible, however, it is a process, so it took me multiple sessions.

Hunter D.P: You look young so your hair will be able to resist…and I will say this…I have black hair…but 20 developer never worked left it orange....40 crème developer works…always 40 crème…and yeah I with you on salons…so if you wanted to try it…it will take you to the blond you want without breakage…just leave 20 minutes and cover with Vaseline the parts that you don’t want to bleach…

Lisa: No wonder everyone I ask tirns me away! I'm going to follow your lead and do it myself.

LunaCardinal: Hahaha me missing my blonde now that I'm half red half black but I'll be going blonde again. Wont be so hard since it's just one side that is dark and I used a dye from Sally's so I'll go back for the color fix and quick blue to do all my hair again starting bottom to top and then give myself a trim (since it's that time for a trim).

Hecii: We need part twooo❤️❤️

Queen Cat: Just watched Brad Mondo reacting to your video. Great results!!! xoxo

random commenter: I think the problem was you kept dying your hair black/brown box dye if you want to bleach u should know to not dye it black because it’s gonna be harder to lift and you’re gonna continue to bleach it and harm your hair

effusa: Yes. Blondme is the best lightener!

Chloe Wright: girl they LITERALLY tell me the exact same thing. they just don’t want to do the work

candy luv: Color remover twice before bleaching colorb4 is the best to strip the box color!

Izzy Meadows: Roots take quicker then mid length and length that’s why they are lighter. It’s because the roots have the heat from the scalp.

Meg: You should have used a colour remover first xx

JO SMITH: I'm exactly the same, so wanna go blonde I was blonde as a kid. But I keep being told its guna be a mistake. But I feel my dark hair is ageing me.

Gabriella Blazed: Idk why hairdressers told you they cant even get that in sessions. That is completely possible especially in sessions. I could’ve got you that in 1-2 sessions.

Zoe Leanne: Who else has blonde hair dye on watching this

Marta Bluee: Buna! Ador accentul tău, parul meu natural este blond-saten și mi-am vopsit parul negru. Nu îmi place deloc cum îmi sta. Cum sa scap de acest brunet și sa revin la un blond decent? Mulțumesc:)

Zachary Walls: I didn't think it took 4 minutes and 53 seconds of constant talking to find out how to bleach somebody's hair properly and apparently it takes 4 minutes and 53 seconds just to BS to extend your video so that you can get more clickbait but it won't matter I'm just saying it's a little BS is all

Hera: Yeah it doesn’t make sense. They say to leave the bleach on for NO MORE than an hour but it literally takes 2 hours to get the hair completely covered

suusj22: Owh she should have use color remover first.
