Documenting my experience and results when using Garnier Olia 7.0 Dark Blonde to lift my natural color a bit. Was looking for some change in time for the spring season, hoping for a lighter brown in color.

I could do a quick little update, I'm going to be doing the garden yay. Oh yay and 7.0 dark blonde. Its oil powered permanent color 60 % oil blend with natural oils. I'M going to give this product a try, sounds good. It looks pretty and hopefully it'll get me the colored. I have 30 minutes to spare the product that is smelly nasty. You know this is an ammonia free product. I had, and I said it wasn't strong, very faint and light. It was easy to apply no trip, which I was very happy about. I'M feeling a little bit of tingling around the edges. It'S tolerable: it's not painful, it's just a little tingling as if I put like peppermint oil in my hair, but without that refreshing feel okay, moment of truth, I by the color, did everything in instructions on differences that I said under the dryer for five minutes with A conditioner and done rinsed it out and I'm going to show you the color here it is. The color took a lot on my left side compared to the right B, because it was the first section we put in it's very white in the middle Tucker. Actually, quite weird, but that's fine. Actually it looks like I did highlights so that's cool. I was actually kind to play if I should die a whole head or do highlights, but the fact that this drink down anyway it's a nice lift, is not drastically bright. Store results before I put in any styling agents or anything so this is it I'll put up some photos. What am i finished looks the before and after and natural some I so it's a better comparison. So they thanks. You

T J: Olia is a a great brand! Always makes my natural hair feel so so so so soft after

neikala: Since I deep condition weekly, I didn't notice a change in my hair. However, I've recently did my own honey blonde highlights to my front and crown area. After that process, I did see a change in my curl pattern in the front and the hairs that I highlighted are a bit dry, compared to the rest of my hair.

neikala: Thank you for watching! I don't want to steer your decision since I'm not a licensed professional, but I was actually in the same boat. I wanted to try shea moisture, but they weren't sold in NYC at the time and I refused to trek to NJ for a box. My decision was based on convenience mostly.

Chanel Henry: thank you for posting this video. i'm considering dying my hair from dark brown to hopefully a light brown. i've never permanently dye my hair, relaxed or natural and i'm going back and forth between the shea moisture and the olia.

neikala: Yeah I see what you're saying. You should definitely wait a few more months to try out coloring your hair again just because your hair has been through enough stress as of right now. Professional would definitely be able to help you achieve the color you specifically want. For black hair becoming lighter your stylist will need to use bleach, which will definitely stress your hair. A few months after this video I used the Revlon highlighting kit for dark hair to achieve a lighter look.

neikala: That's good to hear. What color did you dye your hair and was it visible? It was my first time using olia. I'm not sure if I'll color my hair with it again or go back to Texture and Tones I used to use in college. I didn't find that the color took around my entire head.

M.A Tonima: Do you think leaving it on for a little longer or putting hair drier in heat mode help with lightening the hair? My hair colour is like yours so I am not sure about the time mentioned in the instructions. 30 mins might be too less. Not tio keen on applying heat to hair really. Any suggestions?

neikala: I wasn't sure how the color would come out in my hair. A few years ago I did dye my hair and noticed that color did not take as I liked it previously, so I figured if I went lighter my hair would come out a subtle brown.

Martha Ingram: I want to try that brand! I used a dark and lovely once! It kind of damage my hair a little

Chanel Henry: well i did it today!! the olia 7.0 and i got pretty close to the light brown i wanted. it was a great overall

Genisse Franklin: I bought two boxes of soft black and I only used one box and I think it covered my entire head of hair, sadly it didn't last long cuz I didn't use shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair cuz I didn't have any,I used loreal total repair 5 and probably with in a few days or so the color was gone,I can't believe that the type of shampoo and conditioner I used took all the dye out of my hair, won't be using the second box until I can get shampoo and conditioner for color treated hair

Leothia Scott: The roots always change faster than the hair on top. So you have to do the top half first then the bottom to roots last. To keep it real black queens should not used it at all . It breaks the hair BADLY.

Elena707: To get a lighter result you cannot avoid bleaching :-/

Jess Be Chilling: i used this dye but i used golden mahogany thank god mine didn't burn or nothing my hair turned out wonderful i really think u should be care i used a deep conditioner but it colored my whole head used 2boxes

omg8o: Ok, thanks for letting me know! I saw this day the other day and I wasn't sure about trying it. :)

omg8o: Did this dye leave your hair dry at all?

Simona S.: Will it work if I do it on copper hair? Did anyone try?

bebe6: even though the color key didnt show black hair before, trying it were u sure of how it would look after? thanks:) i have natural black hair..but dyed it brown got it touched up didnt like it lol so i dyed it black to start over and now wanna dye it brown! lol

Faith Abigael: my hair is like yours but a bit longer, I have garnier color naturals creme not Olia. As this is my first time I don't if it'll turn out brown.

bebe6: yeah i just dyed my hair with brown dye on black hair and it didnt show:( so im thinking about going to a professional and just dying it. im afraid of trying all these colors on my hair..ur hair color (or maybe a shade lighter) is what i want

neikala: I would love to see your before & after pics. Instagram or tweet me @neikala

bebe6: i see:) thank u so much!

April Ferrier: You have the best lips!

Sophie Antonio: You're so pretty! :)
