Today, I'm going to discuss my top 10 tips for growing long, healthy, beautiful hair. I'M just going to give you a sneak peak of each of these tips all ten and then I'm going to be posting videos later breaking these down into their own little series. So don't worry I'll go really into depth about each of these tips and videos to come and just want to give you the top ten reasons that I have today so number one on my list is vitamins. I have taken all different types of brands of vitamins. Regimen, vitamin regimen, so don't worry I'll, be going into product reviews and speaking about each of the vitamins that I've taken, but I do believe it's extremely important to take vitamins. Your hair needs needs. Your hair needs nutrients. Your body needs nutrients, so it's important that you're nourishing your hair from the inside out. So every day I take a minimum of at least two vitamins, so that is very important. These are, I got from Whole Foods and I'll be going into depth later, but some type of hair or multivitamin. The next thing that I swear by our deep conditioners. Every time I wash my hair, I do a pre-poo. I do some type of hot oil treatment and I always do a deep conditioner. I never just shampoo or condition my hair, I'm always making sure that I put in moisture. I'M always making sure that I use some type of deep conditioning treatment and these can go from high to low ends from really do it yourself at home, inexpensive treatments to more expensive ones, I'll be going into depth about that. But you need to deep condition. The next thing is using natural hair oils. This is my best friend. We go way back. Organic virgin, coconut oil I'll be talking more about each of the oils, but it is so important. I wish I started YouTube a long time ago, so I could have showed you guys all the things that I threw away. Basically a whole trash bag full of products that I throw away because the products are deceptive, they say: they're, coconut oil, but they're. Not you read the ingredient list and the last ingredient is coconut oil or you go and Target and something says, carrot oil and it has basically petroleum in it or it has mineral oil. It'S not what it says that it is so you have to be committed to thinking critically about products, reading the label reading what's in them and you can find things really inexpensive, but a lot of. Unfortunately, black hair care is not what it says it is and we're putting things in our hair that don't really moisturize or take care of them they're. Basically, the things putting Vaseline on your hair, they're crap, so I believe in natural hair oils keep their moisturize. The fourth thing is taking care of your hair. At night I always wrap my hair, I'm a very rough wild sleeper, so I really have to put to silk scarves on and I'll show you guys how I do that, so I normally um wrap my hair up at night I put on a silk scarf one Way and it's lip scarf the other way. I get these really inexpensive at vintage thrift stores, three bucks and I also have a satin pillowcase. I believe in having a said. Cotton is the devil. You do not want your hair on cotton, it the friction of. It really promotes breakage. It really is drying to your hair when you think about using cotton, washcloths or um towels to dry off it absorbs moisture, and so, when you sleep in a satin pillowcase, when you sleep with silk, it allows your hair to keep the moisture and also to stay Smooth and not break off, so I always wrap my hair at night. In fact, as soon as I get home from work or I'm done for the day, my hair is wrapped now so wrapping hair. The next thing is trying to use minimum heat um in this video and for the next few videos. My hair is straight right. Now I really only strayed my hair every three weeks, or so I don't put heat on my hair in between wash in between my washes, so I really try to keep my heat to a minimum. I do wear my hair, natural and curly. Sometimes I will be showing you guys that the regiment and the products that I used, but really you cannot put heat on your hair everyday. You cannot put heat on your edges every day. You just can't use heat that frequently so trying to keep your heat to a minimum. The next thing - and I know this will be controversial, and these are things I'm not an expert, I'm not a licensed cosmetologist. These are things that work for me. So there are a lot of youtubers out there that have relaxers there's a lot of youtubers out there that have texturizers that are able to grow long, hair and my personal journey, and for me, relaxers, were something I didn't need and something that unfortunately led to me. Having hair loss, I've had every color hair Under the Sun, red brown bleached blonde highlights. I mean the Keyshia Cole one blonde hair and almost all my friends, people that I talked to say when they get color. It causes their hair to break off. It'S very difficult to maintain and to keep while having long, healthy hair. So I've made the commitment to I've. My last relaxer was five six years ago. I don't have any relax from my hair anymore and I don't have any artificial color. A lot of people like for their hair to look as dark black as possible, and so they resort to using over-the-counter black hair dyes. I don't do that anymore either, so I use on lucious brand of henna um. It has a henna and indigo mixture which doesn't create the red tint. It creates black and I was making a video on that as well, but I use natural, basically henna and indigo to naturally dye my hair. So I don't use any relaxers, don't use any unnatural hair dyes. The next step is protective styles, and this is also a very controversial topic. Um. For two years I wore my hair and soand. I wore um hair extensions and that tie basically got a good starter length that I was comfortable with for me to start wearing my hair out. So, for me that was my kind of go-to protective style, but whether yours are bonds. Whether yours are braids, whether it's twist out twists whatever it is, have some type of protective style in which your hair is able to relax and rest and not be constantly manipulated or constantly exposed to heat. The next one is going to be sectioning and this may sound weird or random, but I am a firm believer. I do my hair all myself now. Basically, one of the reasons for that was going to hair stylist and, as my hair started, to grow out, having stylists try to rip a blow dryer through my hair or take a fine-tooth. Comb are combing and my hair being matted just crazy mess, and so now I'm very gentle - and I take time with my hair - I section it off the eyelid swear by these clips. You can get these at the new supply wherever really cheap and make a lot of sections blow-dry each section out, moisturize and seal each section straighten each section, don't get overwhelmed by your hair. Don'T have tangles or a lot of hair coming out because you're not taking the time to section off your hair and make sure that you're paying attention to each area and also the scalp of that area. So that may seem random. I don't hear a lot of women on YouTube talking about that, but it's something that's very important to me, especially in this length. The next step has to do with trimming. I do all my trimming myself now I use the search-and-destroy and dust stick method I'll be talking about that as well, but making sure you have something in your regiment that has to do with dealing with those split ends, because the hair will continue to split up The shaft, if you do not take care of the split ends at the bottom, but at the same time you have to understand that your hair only can grow from the root. That'S where it's growing from so making sure you're taking care of that and making sure to take care of this hair on the end, it's been with you for sometimes years and it's possibly gone through a lot and needs to be trimmed, and the last step is Has to do with water inside and outside making sure you drink a lot of water daily, making sure you're, you're, clean and healthy on the inside, but also living in DC. The water here is really hard and really harsh. So you want to make sure if you're living in a city or you're living in an urban environment where the water isn't high-quality or you often don't drink the tap water a lot of times. It can break down your hair as well. So you can go to Home Depot and get a showerhead that will kind of purify and filter the water. Just like a Brita water pitcher does for your drinking water and that's going to take out a lot of the harsh minerals and chemicals and make sure you're using high-quality purified water on your hair, like they would at a hair salon. It'S very important! If you do your hair at home, that you have that type of water filter so that you're getting salon quality water, that's going over your hair to nourish it, because water is the number one that moisturizes and nourishes your hair. So those are my top ten tips and stay tuned. Please for the future series on breaking down each of these further take care. You

I'm 65 now and hair NEVER have been able to grow my 4c hair except when I had locs. I'm looking forward to all the information I can get from your videos. Thank you so much.

Isabella Giani: Best video to grow natural hair! New subscriber. I've been doing these things over the last 4 months - taking vitamins, deep conditioning weekly, drinking water everyday, trimming hair and using no heat and I'm already noticing growth. My hair is at the same length naturally as my old blow dried hair which was pretty long.

Ms. Lee: Thank you for making this video! I love that this video is direct and doesn’t involve a complex routine of shampooing and conditioning. ❤️

GlammaOf3: Thanks for the tips beautiful! My hair grows past my shoulders but I did the big chop back in Dec 2017 and have been wearing my natural curls which I just love again!

MissBrendaLee Gertman: Love the hair clips for sectioning my hair. They are useful, handy and simply practical.

Stacey Palmer: Yes...since I started doing my own hair it grows faster and longer...every time I decide to go to the Dominican shop my hair breaks...I end up doing a big chop every time as well...So Im definitely doing my own hair from now on!!!

Lekisha Hamlett: Your hair is BEAUTIFUL! Thanks so much for taking time to share such helpful tips. I really enjoyed your video and learned a lot from it!

Natasha Singleton: I started out much like you with the weaves and my hair is growing underneath it all. My hair is the same length as my 18 inch weave. I still have a little ways to go before I start your next phase. Thank you for getting me motivated to get started.

DivaEagle77: This was really really helpful. Thank you!

Word to Women: I've started on my hair growth journey. I really like your video. Once a person gets to their goal length, do they still need to wear protective styles? And what are your thoughts on wearing wigs as a protective style?

Tijenene Gaffney: Thank you for sharing your tips! Looking forward to trying them out!

60sAmethyst: I just found your channel!! I dont sub to a lot of hair channels because my hair is pretty long already but I do like to keep my hair healthy and enjoy seeing what others do to keep theirs that way. Out of so many hair channels that I sift through, yours is a winner imo because it's simple and gets to the point without all of the pomp and circumstance. It's the proverbial needle in a haystack and I'm glad that I found your ch!! Subbed!⚘

kimberly Heard: love your methods for growing natural healthy hair and I will definitely be following them!!

Akila "Keshab37" Isaac: Yes, reading labels is very important and I have been doing the satin pillow cases for quite some time now. I even have my 2 little girls sleeping on them too.

B R: Gorgeous hair! Very informative video- Thank you! ❤️

Ericka: This helped me alot, my hair is long and amazing thank you

Flawless Fluidity: Thank you for the tip about the shower head filter I live way out in the country and the water here is horrible Great video

MissPrettyN'Pink: Everyone’s hair grows at roughly the same rate it’s retaining the length when you say it’s genetics you basically tell yourself you can’t do it. Are you willing to take care of your hair it’s like getting in shape it’s sacrifice :)

Lashay McDonald: How often do you clip your ends? Because for some reason when I get my ends clipped, my hair seems to grow back to the same length it was before I got them clipped.

MsSensational Mechele: Great video. Like you said growing long hair start from within. You're body and diet has to be on point before your hair or nails will grow how you want them to. I don't take vitamins I use Magic Moss which give you pretty much all the vitamins the body needs. Thumbs up chica.

Cheryl Simmons: Your video is informative. Full of knowledge and common sense. Thank you it's a good thing.

Rachel Bada: these tips are soo useful

ChicGoddessMoneé: I wish there was a LOVE button on YouTube! You've got yourself a new subscriber honey! I can not wait until the next video comes out THANK U! ^_^

Tieshka Sanders: First i prayed and i asked God what could i use to grow out my hair. Natural oils popped up in my mind. and i swear by them. when i started my hair was 3inches all over. now its shoulder length and still growing. i recently got my ends trimmed. its grown an inch since then and im 3 months post relaxer. .i wear bantu knots. Cause i cant wear braids anymore. and i do heat once every 2weeks now. my hair is healthy and moisturizered. more than its ever been. oh i almost forgot. its been a year.since i started this journey.

Tracy Thompson: Hi Lady. :) Do you grease your scalp?  I'm 35 years old and have been greasing my scalp since I was very young.  It keeps it from itching.  In the past I have tried to get away from greasing the scalp as some women say no one needs to do such and that it clogs the pores.  Do you advise women with dry scalps that produce dry hair to grease their scalp?  And if not then what do you advise us to do?

Ehren Van Wart: Thanks for posting this video. My girlfriend's hair needs some help! She won't even wear it natural. I think your tips will be very encouraging.

1ChicDiva: If you have very oily hair, should you still deep condition with every wash? Even though my hair is super oily, I only wash it every 2-3wks, & I never add any oil in between. Also like yourself, the only heat used on my hair is after washing - no heat at all in between washes. Is there anything you can suggest to manage the excessive oil?

Valerie TheBeautifulSoulTV: Your hair is flawless. Thanks for the tips.

tinker2217: great video. I saw 9 minutes & started to skip it lol, but you kept my attention. very informative. ☺

Simply jade: I honestly like my short hair it more easier to manage. I had long hair a few years ago and it constantly got tangled and dusty

Enyotta Watkins: Very informative and knowledgeable

Kimberleyzaza 1234: thank you so much for revealing your secrets I'm definitely gonna try them

NYflyGRL 101: Awesome black is still and will always be beautiful!

ella bella1717: Being natural is not easy! I've been natural for 2 years and have two kid's. My hair is too much work. Relaxer take's less time. I have really really tight curls

Create Your Best Version: New Subie..thank you for these wonderful hair care tips!

Sandi T: Great informative video. Thank you!

Alicia._.x: Thanks, great video. Love your hair btw

Thoughtfully, Missy B.: Very informative, thanks.

Denice Moody: I'm hoping you don't blow dry your hair from wet to dry.  Do you allow your hair to dry naturally or sit under the hair dryer?  When I was coming up, my Mother would wash my hair one day, and get it pressed the next day; my hair would actually last 4 - 6 weeks and grew very well.  I've found these quick straight routines to be too harsh.  Your hair is so beautiful, it's a shame you can't trust a stylist to handle your hair with the same care you give to your own hair.  Aside from clarity on your blowing drying treatment, I agreed with everything.  One thing is for sure - it's working for you.

G-Ma X: I have became lazy again with my hair again but you do it girl

Iamblessed 2020: Thanks for the knowledge...you're hair is absolutely gorgeous!

Angel Johnson: May I have the link of what you use to get your hair dark, instead of hair dye. I couldn’t find the video you mentioned.

Nicole Andrewa: I agree that vitamins are essential to healthy hair growth etc. Silk is definitely great to sleep in. A silk pillowcase is good. Hindu Indian hair, that is the finest as is Ethiopian silk and some native American hair are indeed some of the finest hair in the world. Very high quality unusually soft African textured hair is often black people of the Caucasus who take pride and respect in growing truly beautiful hair... Tell the truth. I never fake the funk. I love beautiful Indian hair!!! Wow!!!

Moon Orchid: Yeah these are basic things that everyone knows about... they don't grow your hair fast but they help it grow healthier.. the truth is there is no real way to grow your hair in let's say a week you just have to be patient and wait it out. Sigh.. I wish my hair was long though.. because twas are Boeing and sometimes I feel ugly with short hair.

Shawn E: Great information! Thanks

Sheila Griffin: Hi i just been doing my regiment about 3 weeks how long do you think it will take to see results

Pam Campbell: I enjoyed your video and was elated that you are in DC my hometown. I look forward to learning more about proper hair care. Thank you for sharing your tips.

Kaykay: Can you list in the drop box or tell me where you get your Henna?? I have been scared to use it because everyone says it will change your hair color.

Jeri Ayala: very good presentation and advice!

LaJuanda Moten: my hair my hair has grown out so long thank you so much your videos are awesome

Gram BEETZ: Is it true black women can grow long hair to their back on their own

Sweet as Candy Kelley: thanks so Much, your advice has really worked for me.

Hijabis4ever: I appreciate your video so much. I do wish that yu gave the name of deep conditioner that you use. Over the years I have tried many and so far I have not found one that does not dry out my hair or leave me with an awful smell.

Heaven Perez: What name brand vitamins do you recommend for your hair?

N D: Without a relaxer. How do you keep hair from fizzing up when you work out.

antoria CONDE: if my hair is really short how long will it take to grow it out?

Jeffery Hazle: Your amazing, the last tip was probably the best tip.

Armaker Maxwell: My hairdresser said coconut oil dries out your hair sometimes so I stopped using it

KOSA: What type of vitamins for health or just for hair?

Brianna Thomas: Good tips, I'll be sure to follow them to get my rapunzel hair.

Taurus Goddess: Great tips thanks

Ann Crane: New subbie, you are well spoken and gave some good information that I will try and use.

Nevaeh Mugala: I have black hair also and I don't use shampoo because the oils can make tour hair die so I only use conditioner

AllLoveAllTheTime: You are addressing a big concern for a lot of women and I do commend you for that. Keep (That ) up . You are great !

Deshaun Tellez: Chic Lady T I stopped flat ironing about 4 yrs ago and at that time it was mid back length. I cut off all of my damaged hair. I do a wash and go daily with Wen and I shampoo and deep condition with Hydrathermal Naturals weekly. I HAVE to co- wash and do the LOC method daily to look fresh and polished. I do hot yoga and I'm a runner so this is not an option. I am retaining length as I blow dry to do length checks. Do you know of anyone who has grown waist length hair co-washing daily?

Toni Tubby: When you start to do this process when do you actually start noticing a change?

LVNCSR: your hair is gorgeous!

Evylise Tavares: Good to know!!

Sabrina Messenger: Very helpful.

Rosalyn Mack: I know exactly what you mean about hair stylists ripping your hair out when blow drying or combing. That's my biggest pet peeve so because of this, I wash my hair before going to the salon cause all I want is a flat iron my hair. Everyone, this lady is speaking truth. I would definitely like to see pics of your different hairdo colors.

Itz GG tv: Its been 2 years i cant imagine how long your hair is now

Sharon Johnson: Did you ever do the big chop after you decided to go natural?

Chuquella Owens: Hi what is the name of henna you use , when I go to the link it shows for one second and goes away ,can you only get on eBay?

Jahfreehispeople: Envy of someone else's hair this is getting ridiculous

TheCoachMG: Thank you. I miss my length but it'll come back. can't wait to see you coloring video

𝓬𝓮𝓬𝓮𝔀𝓸𝖗𝓵𝓭: Beautiful hair

Blessed Indeed!: I love Collagen Viamin C. I'm learning so much. I click on those ladies videos with long hair along with before/after hair pics although there are lots of products to concoct lol

StrawberryQwik: Very nice video. You seem like a sweetheart, too. Thanks for the upload. <3
