Hi, it's Tanya here welcome back to my channel if you're new to my channel welcome all right, so I wanted to do a video on handling frizzy gray hair and I just got done blow-drying my hair. So this is what it looks like no styling no round brush. I just used this cricket volumizing brush here that I got at Alta and everything I show you here I'll put down in the description box below, although there's not very many items, but here we go so I did a few videos on styling your hair, different ways And I use this sleek anti-frizz serum in my hair. This is level 1 by swab. This product is fantastic and I don't know I don't know how it didn't end up in my 20 19 best of video, because I totally forgot about it. I guess, but it is like 293 at Walmart, so it's three under 3 at Walmart, probably Walgreens, you're gon na pay or CVS you're gon na pay just a little bit more, but it is a great product. You get three point, three point: five fluid ounces and you can see the size it's about the size of my hand, so you've got quite a bit in here. It smells terrific and it really does sleek your hair out. So if you're like me, you have gray hair now, I'm in my bathroom, so the lighting is different, so my hair doesn't really look too great. But if I lean into the light you'll see it's very gray up here. It'S just the lighting that makes my hair and look this way alright. So so, when you go gray, you know sometimes you have frizzy gray or maybe your gray hair is really coarse. So I'm thinking this may help with that, I'm not sure based. I don't have super coarse hair, but it is coarser than it was when I colored it years ago, because when you color it it, the the peroxide, the hydrogen peroxide in the hair color, goes into the hair shaft and breaks down the color and makes the hair Shaft swell and then and then at the end of the 20 minutes that you leave it on it, smoothes the hair shaft back down, and that is why, when you color your hair, you you you go. Oh my hair is so much softer. It'S so much more manageable, you know and then you decide. You want to go gray, so you go gray and then you go. Oh my god. What happened to the texture of my hair? You know well the coloring kind of if you had thick hair, to begin with the coloring kind of tamed your hair shaft. If that makes any sense - and so yes, even though the coloring destroys the hair shaft and breaks it down, it also makes it feel or appear like it is in better condition. If that makes any sense. So then you go gray and then your gray starts growing out and when it gets to a point like either here or here, you start to go. Oh, my god I mean for some people not on I'm, probably not so much in that category, because I have fine hair to begin with. But if you have thick hair you're gon na go. Oh my god, my hair is thick. It'S coarse! I don't like the texture of it, and so there are things you can do. There are a few products I have here. I just have two and actually no, I guess you can call the Flatiron a product, but that is also another way to smooth the hair. Shaft, you can also talk to your hairdresser. They have hair glosses and things that they can put over. That are clear. That may also tame your gray hair. So there are other things that you can do to help tame your gray hair. You know if it's frizzy, if it's too thick, if it's wiry, so this is me right after I blow dry and I'm gon na get up kind of close here, so you can see that little frizz ease and I usually have to do some amount of straightening To control this now it's not too bad. Actually, you know I can't complain. I'Ve got natural waves in here, so you know. Actually it doesn't really look that bad, but I do want to smooth it out a little bit. I don't like this see those flyaways and frizzies there. So one way you can smooth it out is: you can use a flat iron and I'm gon na demonstrate that on this side, so you see how the hair is kind of. You know it's yeah, so I'm gon na take my flat honor, and this is the Conair Pro infinity Pro. Do you need to buy an expensive hair iron? No, you do not the thing that makes a hair iron effective are not just the plates because most of them do have the titanium plates and other companies will try to sell you on their plates are better there. They have made of diamonds or whatever. You know, honestly, this functions just as well and I believe this product is, I better check the price and put it down in the description box below, but it's not that expensive. So before you go, spend $ 50 or $ 100 or get talked into something at some beauty supply store for $ 89. I would try this first, because if you don't like it, you can return it Walmart has it. I believe it and the thing that I think makes a good flat. Iron is the heat gauge. If it goes up to 395 400 degrees, then you are good. If it has a low heat gauge, then it's going to not straighten like if you have, if you have really thick hair or curly, very curly, hair you're not going to have trol. Now what I like about this one is, it does have a temperature setting here and you can you can move this up or down now I if this baby gets so hot that I cannot use it on full. I actually see my hair smoking steaming. So I don't use it on full, I probably use it see. It goes up to 30 and then, if I crank it all the way back down here, it's 1, so it goes 1 to 30. So I like to stay somewhere around 15. That'S kind of the midway point and it has a little 15 there, so you can see exactly what temperature you're at and this thing heats up wonderfully. It travels good. I believe it's dual voltage, so it'll go to Europe with ya, and so it just smooths out the shaft see that it just irons it kind of like a quickly shirt. You know, but it gets rid of see that see that right there. Let'S get rid of that, let me show you what that looks like so, instead of just brushing it like that, and then you still have more, you just take this center part of your hair, just on top. If you just want to do the top layer - and you just go down to the base grab it and just give it a move, it out nice and slow, don't stop just kind of, and so it smoothes it out now you can still see. I still have flyaways they're still having the flyaways. Those are some because what you're going to notice when you go gray, is that you're gon na be growing hair in places that you stopped growing hair when you were coloring and here's one of them. Your this hair. Here that grows into up here and your brow see all those baby hairs there. Those all grew back when I, when I went gray, I had more hair growth than I had before. Okay, so now we have static going on so that's just static, but we're gon na settle that down with a smoothing balm, I'm going to show you how I do that so usually I do this after I blow dry now this smoothing serum can be put in When your hair is damp, in fact, that's what it says on the back, you put it in when your hair is damp. I have not tried that yet. I should try that for you, but for the purpose of this video, I'm just going to show you the product and we're going to use it on dry hair because it says you can use it on dry, hair too. So I usually just smooth out just kind of around my face kind of up here kind of in the back here. So it's not so filthy. I kind of just run it through and I love this flat iron too, because it has the rounded edges. So you can use it as a curling iron and I've demonstrated that in other videos, yeah, so don't spend a lot of money. There'S so many gimmicks. You know they say: oh diamond plated, blah blah. I and I you know all of these things. These are just gimmicks, basically, honestly, all right, so yeah, let's see, let's just straight today, I feel like straight, not curled. Let'S take that curl right out there anyway, this works really well. Now, if you don't want to use the flat iron, then don't use it just blow dry and use the serum, because not all of you are gon na have not everybody's gon na have some of you are gon na have straight hair, so you don't have to Take some of the curls out. I mean I like it kind of wavy, it's kind of nice. It has some movement and all alright, so there we are so we're gon na take some of this. I'M just gon na put a little bit of that in my palm like that, rub it through my hands and I'm just gon na go down and I'm just gon na control. Oh see that see how that starts to lay down now and it's very silky. No! I'M just gon na run. In fact, I'm gon na do a little bit more today because and my hair will calm down like if I didn't do anything to it, just blew dry it like over a day or two. It would calm down. Naturally, but I you know, when you're trying to get ready for for work or an event or whatever you want, you want your hair to calm down. Now you don't want to wait. You know oh yeah and a couple days it look great. You know you want to have it look good now, so I'm just running this through my hair and see it already gives it like. I mean it just feels like tamable, it doesn't see, it doesn't seem so flyaway. I still have some stuff up there. That was still picking through a little bit. Those are probably the hairs that I plucked. I plucked a few gray hairs. Don'T ever do that because they say, if you pluck it, it will make the gray hair pull the cuticle in in a wrong direction and then that hair will grow in that direction every time. So you never want to pluck your gray hairs there anyway, but it does see it does kind of smooth out your hair, and actually you can really feel it on your hands, see that kind of gloss. It kind of glosses it and it says that it has a vitamin E in here. It says this lightweight cream controls with silk protein and vitamin E helps smooth hair for all-day frizz control and shine, leaving hair up to 100 % frizz free wow. That'S a statement when using sleek shampoo, conditioner and anti frizz cream, okay, so it's 100 % if you use their sleek and smooth shampoo and conditioner, which I have not so if you have really your gray hair is coarse and wiry and you don't like it try This, the suave professionals, sleek shampoo, conditioner and then get this, and I think, probably all three products are going to run you three four five six, maybe eight dollars for all three can't beat that then there's another product and I've touted. This in a lot of videos is the Garnier Fructis styling, brilliant shine, gloss spray. This is in sleek finish, and this is available at most stores that carry Garnier Fructis. I have noticed at Walgreens pretty regularly and Walmart. Sometimes I don't see it, but I like to do this at the very end and after you put on hairspray, because it will put the shine back into your hair, it does make your hair shiny. It makes your hair feel smooth. So i am, i think, at another point in time i'm going to try this on my wet hair and then blow-dry and see how much control I get. But right now I like it, it kind of settles everything down and even though I'm gon na wear my hair back today, it's just gon na keep all the frizz ease down. I can control them with it and it just makes your hair feel soft and silky, and it gives it a little bit more body anyway. It'S worth a try for sure alright, so I'm gon na put this on and you'll see the difference here right here on. I mean I already have very shiny hair, but I'm just gon na give it one squirt usually. Does it see how she really brilliantly shiny this friend of mine she's in her 80s and she was using a different shine spray and I wore this one day and she said: oh, my god, your hair is so shiny. How did you do that? I said it's trying to save spray. She said I have shine spray. She was using a different kind. I don't know what kind it was, but this is the best. So I bought her a bottle of this. She was so happy. It'S just look at that. It really makes your hair shiny and sleek and look at it May no that one's still standing it all right. Well, you know, hair is hair. Sometimes it's gon na do what its gon na do. I could cut it off, but it does smooth out your hair and it does make your hair feel, like you have smoothed it out a little bit and actually this stuff on dry, hair kind of makes your hair feel like it would feel in a couple days From now, if that so anyway, I will try it underneath and let you know how that goes put it on when my hair is still wet, but I'm gon na go ahead and prep my hair for today, like I normally do, and so that's that's kind of The routine I do to kind of smooth out my hair. I hope that's helpful for you. I hope it helps you control your gray hair and give it more luster and make it more sleek and silky and anyway so try it out post it. In the comment section, let me know how it goes for you with that, because I'm curious to see how it works with different types of hair types of gray, hair, and thank you so so much for watching. Carolyn Stockton: Suave makes wonderful, affordable products. I will check them out, the shampoo, conditioner and serum sound exactly like what my hair needs. They obviously work for you!

Loretta: Haven't used those products, but I swear by John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Touch Up Creme. It contains avocado oil. I have fine salt & pepper curly gray hair. It tames the frizz & leaves my hair shiny, but doesn't weigh the hair down. You may want to give it a try.

jujubunnybea: The shine spray looks GREAT... I will pick it up the next time I'm out shopping... Thank You

Spirit Moon: I have the same flat iron; love it bc of the settings. My gray is fly away frizz city. I air dry and most of the time don't use a flat iron; trying to limit the use of hot tools. Usually run jojoba oil through my hair after it's dry.

Preston Towne: That's me! Going though this, it's kinda worse than I thought it'd be, my hair is already thick and coarse. It's also sticking straight up got a very short pixie..

paisley dreamz: i love the shine spray but i have to spray it on my hands and put it on bottom to top, otherwise the top gets oily/dirty fast.

Jennifer Ferdinand: Thank you for this video I so needed it

Preston Towne: This is me!! Coarse and thick grey, and now a pain to style. What a shock....

Melanie Ziegler: Apparently Suave has discontinued this product.

Helen Gentile: Thank you for your informative video

23 Alioto: I'll try them. Fine curly grey

Rockyn Robyn: I'm 44. this helps. thanks.

Sue Silva: I find these products just make my hair look dirty.

Preston Towne: You answered some questions and concerns I had. Looks like you have grey that does what it wants to.
