Hi welcome to my channel if you're new here my name is stephanie, and this is the farmhouse mom today i thought i would do a little bit of a different video and i would talk about my gray hair grow out um when i thought about growing out My hair about a year ago and just not coloring it anymore, a lot of videos on youtube were really helpful, so i just thought i would add mine to the mix and then also at the end, i would like to show you our farmhouse master, bathroom um. This is probably our favorite room in the house that we feel like we really got right so i'll do that after i just talk about my gray, hair experience so um this is just i haven't, got it cut for or not cut. I haven't got it colored for um april may june. I guess 15 months now, and so this is what it's looking like so and this is just not really combed either. So i generally have pretty blonde hair um. It'S been always pretty pretty blonde. It'S not not! Usually dark, so you can see the line here of the grow out and it's a little frustrating because it doesn't look a lot different. So i've been sitting in chairs for 20 plus years having my hair done um and i kind of feel like around my face. It doesn't look a lot different. It is pretty bright here um, but you know you can see anyway. This is just my hair washed. With a purple shampoo. You can really see the gray underneath with a purple shampoo and just a regular conditioner. I feel like when i do the purple shampoo and the purple conditioner. It'S like. I got like that old lady, blue hair. Look, so you definitely can see the gray here. It'S pretty dark in the back. A lot of that tint. I feel like see how coarse my hair is, of course, um a lot of that tent, i kind of feel like is the purple shampoo, because i just did it last night, so this is just my hair is just wild and out of control. So - and i don't have time on a farm to straighten it every day and i'm not gon na do that. So this is just natural kind of what it looks like um. I just washed it with purple shampoo, regular conditioner, and then i just put a leave-in conditioner on when it's still, you know damp just to kind of make it not so frizzy um, which doesn't work really well, but it's fine so anyway yeah if you're thinking about Growing out your gray hair and if you have blonde hair, which you know i do highlight it so my natural hair is is, is like this: it's a darker blonde and it's pretty dark in the back. So i feel like this is going to be enough. This gray, this is where the grow outline is. This gray is going to still add some lightness to my face and over here lots of gray and white, which will still add some lightness to my face. So i think it's going to be okay. When i pull it back, i feel like it does make me look older, but i'm older, i'm 47 or i'll be 47 here in three weeks, so um i might get tired of it, but i'm gon na give it one more year, so one more year should Give a grow out, i got it cut and she did a terrible job. So the lady that i usually go to, i showed up and um the lady wasn't there and they didn't tell me so i just got someone new and then she just started chopping up. My hair, i i don't look good with the toward my face. I don't need that kind of dragging down my face, but anyway that's gray, hair, that's how it looks if you're thinking about growing it out um. So there you go all right now. Let me show you um our master bath, i'm gon na pick it up just a little bit and then i'll. Let you take a look at it. Okay here is our master farmhouse bath. So, as you walk in off of our master bathroom, you see the you see me. We have got two vanities and then right now, just as functional use. I just have little um tubs from amazon there. So we put my we put towels here and then here i used to put my hus my sons pull ups and clothing. It just makes it easier because this is where we get dressed in the morning, and so i'm gon na come to this side. So we've got, we got the mirrors at amazon for pretty cheap and i've removed most of our personal items just because i've been cleaning. This is not how we live. I don't want to give you a false sense of reality here. I'Ve removed it. So i can clean and mop the floors, so we have a nice um closet there linen closet, that's the closet into our um. You know master closet for our clothing and then here is our oh. I forgot to take those poofs off. I took our personal items off just so you can get a better idea of what it looks like without having it kind of, but that's our bath shower. So we've got a little cubby. There. We'Ve got two of those, and then we have a larger one. So that is the shower and then my favorite part is my bath area. So this is a um. Let me take this rug off. This is a reproduction. Obviously it's an acrylic um, clawfoot bathtub, and then we've got just a little cubby area that i can set things. This is where i keep my orchids. I usually have more of those and we have a little chandelier and this piece i got off of an old barn. I put some hooks on them and that's where we hang all of our towels, and this is my favorite spot to be so. This is what it looks like, oh and then we have the toilet area. I really wanted a separate toilet room. I do not like having it right out in the middle. It makes it so much easier for two people to use so yeah, so you walk in you've got your oh there's. My rug. You'Ve got the vanities, there, you've got the linen closet and then the master bathroom closet. We have our shower. I'Ve got my bath area and here is the toilet room. So let me show you what it looks like actually every day um when we have our items in here, okay, so this is usually what it looks like um. During the day we just have our items out um and then we oh getting dizzy, and then i love my plant shelf, because i will put little orchids that i need to rehab. This is a perfect light for orchids and i'll put um. You know any plants. I need to rehab there and then you know we just hang our towels there. I have a little basket here for odds and ends. I need to clean that off and um. You know i'm kind of right now in the house. I am just getting it functional and just getting things clean and organized so adopting two kids at a later age in life, it was a real, you know, tends to be a lot of work, so we did all of that and built a house all in the Same year, so, right now, what you're going to see from my videos is probably more of a functional um. Look that you know that we live in, and it's not that i don't like the pinterest aesthetic or you know that instagram. I don't think it's necessarily very reasonable to have and to maintain um, and if it's a lot of pressure thinking that everybody's house is just right out of a magazine. But i do like to have at least one room in the house really beautiful. So like the kitchen and the front room area i like to have that really nice and i usually have it decorated, but i'm giving myself about five years to just kind of look for stuff. I would prefer secondhand items that i can um. You know really make my house my own and let my personality shine through and just really make it cozy for how i want it to be, but right now i am just you know getting comfortable in the house and getting it nice and organized. So i hope that you enjoyed our tour of our master bath. We really love this room. We also have um heated floors underneath, which is an incredible luxury that it's so awesome, so my husband waited 40 years to have heated floors in a base in a um. In a bathroom - and he really likes it so anyway, thank you so much for watching and we'll see in a few days have a great day.
