(, calm, music, ), Hey, it's Katie from Katie Goes Platinum. And I'm here today with Jen Thoden from yourcolorstyle.com and I've already warned Jen and I'm warning you that I've got two crazy kittens running around the background.. So if you hear banging that's the kittens not me and Jen. So welcome Jen. Thanks for meeting us here today and helping us with our color choices., I'm so excited. ( Jen, chuckles ) Me too.. So, can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you came into the color analysis field? I can. I will try to make the story a little bit: shorter. ( Jen laughing ) [ Katie, ] Okay.. It gets a little long, sometimes but yeah Your Color Style.. It really was born around my, I think, low self-esteem and where I was at a certain place in my life.. It was a moment where I was low and kind of felt like hit. My own rock bottom., And that was a result of divorce. And I had lost my daughter to cancer when she was nine.. And there was just a lot that sort of took a lot of my attention and my energy and put myself last for so long that when I finally left my marriage and kind of ended up in a place that was just me right.. I realized I didn't know myself.. I didn't like the way I looked.. I didn't really know what the heck I wanted to do with my life., And so I started this sort of journey on self-discovery and trying to really figure out what really brought me joy and happiness and really to start to kind of reinvent who I was and Who I wanted to be and become, and that included my appearance as well right I was overweight.. I didn't like how I looked. I didn't dress like I dressed today.. I don't even necessarily think I dress amazing today.. It'S just that it's more thoughtful around color., So I started to do my own little search on color analysis and stuff. You know trying to like make myself feel better. I find colors. I liked, and I discovered simple color analysis then and got super addicted and hooked.. I love color, I'm a fine artist. And I started to experiment with color and I got ta tell you like. I was someone that probably didn't really pay attention to wearing color and was wearing more blob, beigey colors. And I'd actually in retrospect, looked back on photos and realized how much I did that it was so boring. And so not my personality, I'm a really bright person. And so I started wearing colors from this color palette, which was scary for me, because when you don't stand out for so long, suddenly you're standing out when you wear a color. And I was really really really kind of like squeamish. As far as like, what will people think you know, and what turned out is I got a lot of compliments that day, that I wore coral pink and had a lot of compliments. And it's not about the compliments but man. You know what, when you're feeling so low and so crappy about yourself, it feels so good to just get some validation that you're doing something that is kind of reflective of how you really want to feel on the inside. You know. And the more that I started to study this and experiment with it. My entrepreneur flag sort of kicked into gear and I was like you know what This is not only going to be a really great business to offer this to women, but I can help women just like me.. I can help women that are going through their own sort of moment of loss of self and use color as a vehicle to kind of get themselves reconnected and to make themselves feel better.. And it's just a way to creatively express yourself and get yourself to a point where you have some confidence and courage to start being who you really want to be or become and explore that.? Actually, it wasn't really Your Color Style when it was born., It was called I'm so embarrassed by the title.. It was called outfitideasforyou.com, it's terrible.. It was a terrible URL domain name., But nevertheless the more and more I started helping women. The more I discovered that I didn't want to do somebody else's system. I wanted to do something that really was created for all the unique qualities that were coming to me where seasonal color analysis kind of left people behind.. So I would get women with gray hair and by the way, if you look at all the professional photos and all the color systems out there, it's all these perfect people. You know perfect, hair, perfect eyes, perfect combinations, but no one's really like that everyone's different. And we have gray hair and we have brown skin and we have brown skin and gray hair and really really warm eyes and cold cold hair, like just so many different combinations. And I realized that there was an opportunity here for me to really embrace not only my love of color, but to help these women really connect with themselves and to let them know that there's a better way to find some colors that make them feel really good. And hopefully it's colors that they already love right. That'S the whole goal is to wear color that you already love in a way that makes you kind of be the star, not just your boring clothes or your bright clothes or whatever.. So anyways, that's Your Color Style. That'S how it was born, (, Jen, laughing ), I love that. And you know what's interesting is I was a black and white photographer for years. And I think part of it was. I was kind of afraid of color.. Do you know what I mean, Like I'm afraid of choosing the wrong color or ... Got it., And I don't mean that like people are not going to like me, if I wear this color, that's not the kind of thing I mean.. I just mean I don't always understand what colors look good together, you know., Some women are bored with a neck for style and fashion and color, and I'm not one of them., And so sometimes I would wear for years, almost all black. Just because that way I didn't have to think about it. And also being an art student. All black was cool. You know., Oh yeah., I mean people, ask me well, people will say well Jen. You said I couldn't wear black., because there are a lot of the color palettes, don't have black in them., And that is absolutely not what I'm saying.. You know, black's great., I wear black.. I mean it's not my best color., It's kind of kind of heavy on me, but black is .... The thing is this is that I really believe that everyone should just should wear what they really love to wear. When I say that maybe try something different. Besides, black is because a lot of people default to black, it's not that they absolutely love it., They just simply default to it because they don't know what else to wear. And they secretly, probably really. I believe really want to try something different, but they've been doing the same thing for so long that it starts to become really hard.. It'S a stretch for them. And it's easy just to stick to what you've always been doing.. Somebody said something to me out on YouTube: recently., Because you know we either have radio fans or we have really mean people., ( Jen laughing ). Somebody was asking me about. I forget what it was., We'll just use green as an example, you know is green. In my color palette, because I absolutely love to wear green. And I had said well, does it matter, then, if it's in your color palette, if you absolutely love it, you should totally wear it. And somebody had snarly, commented and said. Well then, what's the point of color analysis. And the point of color analysis is not to dictate rules. It's to give you a starting point in guidelines right And to say, if you want to know these are the colors that I believe are going to be the Most flattering on you, the most harmonious with your coloring and tone.. So this is your baseline. These are your guidelines. And the goal is to give you that confidence that okay now I know what colors I know, look good on me. And when you know that when you start to practice that you get confidence in the colors that you know without question, I Hope in some cases that look good on you, then you start to play a little bit and then you start to kind of get a little bit more courage and try something new. And then once you get comfortable with those guidelines and I'll use, the rule word Rules really loosely, then you can break them because now it's by choice and it's not by default. It'S a purposeful choice that you know what Jen said that green's not my best color, but I really love it, and so I'm going to play with it. I'm going to wear it anyway, because I just love it.. I love how I feel in it and maybe put something else from your color palette with it and just really it creative and play with it.. So it's not always just about what I say is best.. It'S a combination of giving you some confidence and tools to use so that you can start to do what you want to do and feel really really good.. You know So. Yeah. I think that's perfect because, like I said I don't have a lot of confidence in my color choices except I was told years ago. I look good in jewel light colors when my hair was dark and I had kind of greenish eyes., But now that my hair's gray and I don't know, I'm really wearing hot pink a lot. You know So yeah.. I like it., [ Katie ] Thank you.. I think it works great., (, Jen, giggles ). Does your color palette change when your hair goes gray, or does it always stay kind of the same or how does that work? Okay.? That'S a loaded question right! That'S why we're all here is. What do you do, especially if you want to grow your hair out like you've, been coloring it for, like you, know, right. You've been coloring it and you want to grow it out or it's going gray and what happens., And so the default answer I give depends On the individual, but let me give you some examples of where I sometimes I think it changes and sometimes it doesn't.. So first, let's talk about undertones, really quickly., Most people and I say most cause, there's always someone that feels like they're in between, but most people have either warm undertones or cool undertones right. You have cool undertones., You have your grayish green eyes, your silvery hair., And I can just tell by your skin without sounding negative. You don't really have like warmth or golden tones in your color.. No, not at all. You have cool undertones.. I have warm undertones. I have golden blonde hair., I have green eyes golden in my skin and I have warm undertones. And usually whoever you are. Even if you have warm tones, if your hair starts to gray you're likely going to stay in your color palette of temperature. Okay., It's not until you tip., So someone with warm undertones when they start to get to about maybe 70 or so or older. Maybe a little bit younger, maybe a little bit older.. It'S not a hard line is when you start to maybe tip way over into cool, because we're always changing. Our pigment is always changing from when we were children. A lot of us were toe heads.. You get older, your hair gets darker your pigment's increasing. And then at some point, depending on who you are your pigment starts, you start to lose your pigment.. That'S why your hair goes gray., That's why sometimes your eyes change colors as you get older, like it happens., And sometimes people who have warm undertones, start to lose pigment and start to go. Cool. Everybody's different.. I'Ve noticed with women that have dark skin darker skin, that have like say really rich golden brown skin, because there's so much pigment in their skin. They are not going to turn cool as they get older.. Their hair may go white.. I'Ve had lots of examples of women with beautiful golden brown, skin and white hair, but they're still warm. Like they're still warm., Okay, interesting. Yeah, and so what I think changes, though, mostly is if we assume that your temperature is going to stay the same.. What changes? I believe is really your range of color., So if you were someone that once had black hair and blue eyes and now you've gone silvery white you've lost the depth., You once had this really really dark hair. And so, with those light light eyes, and so you Can wear high contrast, colors and really light to really really dark, because it's all in harmony with your coloring., But if you've gone light, your hair's just gone light. You'Ve lost that giant gap of contrast and what people who have gone down. That path may have started to realize some things. Just don't feel right on me, anymore., It's probably because they're starting to feel a little bit too dark and more of the lighter colors are just going to be more light to medium or going to be more flattering. Maybe than all the way to black and that high contrast, because their contrast is lower., So that's one thing for sure that I've noticed and again everyone's a little bit unique.. Someone who already has really really dark eyes and maybe a medium skin and their hair is gone gray or white., Maybe they're still in the same palette range., It's really an overall quality right. It'S like what happened to you overall, The other thing that can change their color palette is going from bright to soft, and this can be really confusing for a lot of people., So we'll keep it simple.. But let's say that you've got really bright, green eyes and medium brown hair and you wear bright colors really well, because your eyes are really bright and that's your color palette. And then you go to a gray blend.. It'S now this soft gray blend. It's possible that you've softened now., And at that point you have to look at the individual to see. Do they look better more some of the more softer mute colors or are their eyes bright enough to still hold up against those bright colors? They used to wear. Right, And so some women that had like bright, vibrant red hair and like grayish, blue eyes. And now they're kind of more of a gray blend and they've lost that vibrant hair and now their eyes are still kind of soft. But now everything's become soft, sometimes they look a little bit better in some of the softer colors versus the more brighter colors.. This is where it gets a little tricky on kind of where you fit, because everybody's a little bit different on their skin tone and how they're they're carrying through.. So for like you, you used to have almost black hair and now you've gone silver, but I still see those highlights bright. Like they're, still pretty bright, silver highlights., And so I think that's because you can still wear the color palette. You had., I don't think you changed so dramatically where you can no longer wear those juul tones and those color palettes.. I think the only that might be very different is that maybe some of those higher contrast like patterns might feel a little off, because you don't have a high contrast, anymore., It's sort of a medium contrast blend cavity now.. The question I seem to get a lot: is women who've gone from red hair, natural red hair to gray.? Sometimes they feel like the autumn. Colors, don't look as good on them as they used to.. Is that something that can happen? Yeah absolutely. That absolutely happens., And that's because so again when we talk about pigment redheads especially, I just did a whole video on this because redheads struggle so much with this.. They have so much pigment in their hair. And so when they lose that pigment. It'S sort of like the color, almost ran out. Yeah. And autumn colors. And in terms of your color style. Those are colors that are typically very warm a little deep with some bright in there. And what happens is those deeper colors that used to go really well with that nice rich high pigment hair? Now those colors don't have any harmony anymore., So your hair has gone, lighter, it's gone gray and you still might be able to wear the brighter like the brighter color bright, warm colors of that palette., But those darker colors that are more earthy and more grungy. They'Re too heavy on you now, because you've lightened up. You've that you've lightened up from the pigment in your hair., And so it might be that they've gone more where the brighter colors and some of the lighter colors in that same palette will be far more flattering Than the deeper ones. - And that might be the reason - why. - Okay, that's good to know. - I don't think it's because they cool down necessarily.. I'Ve noticed that a lot of women that were once redhead and they've gone gray still hold a quality about them that lets them still wear those warm colors.. It'S just the range has changed now. And when you add black to the warm colors of red to yellow and all the red oranges and golden yellows in there, when you add black to that, you get those autumn, colors those earthy really rich, beautiful colors. And those Don'T look good on everyone. If they really don't have enough pigment to balance out that richness of palette. Interesting. Okay.. I know there's a lot of redhead on my site and my group who are going to be interested to hear that because they seem to be the number one group that is struggling with color once the hair goes gray. Yes.. I can totally see it because your hair is such dominant equality on your overall appearance and your color palette. It is. It just completely drives what colors you're going to want to wear right And so red is so distinct. And when I say red, you know it's not just red right. It'S orange! It'S strawberry blonde., It's all those colors, but it's so dominant. And it's sort of like with anything in life. You have a definition of yourself at some point right. I have this bright red, hair or auburn, hair whatever., And these colors I like how mean these are ones I wear.. And then, when you change, you have to redefine yourself., You have to redefine, what's working for you now., And it might be that you have to go back and reevaluate and go okay. These colors work, but these don't - and you know we're explaining now why those don't work, but I can see how it's a little bit of a identity shift right. Either you keep coloring your hair or you go natural and still feel authentic, but you got ta still kind of redefine what colors are really going to work best at that point.. That'S why I always say like when we do color analysis for people.. They want to send me photos from like when they're eight. (, both laughing ) And that's fine., But I always say I'm like we're: color analyzing, you, as you are right now right, now. Right., Not even 10 years ago, because you've changed.. So, let's talk about how you are now you know, or if you're coloring your hair, then there was always a question of. Do you want me to color analyze you with your hair, the way it is or what colors might be better if you let it grow? Naturally, right And there's a little bit of personality in there right Some people, just simply don't want to go gray and that's perfectly fine. Right right.. We don't ever want to force anybody., No, absolutely not.. I think the whole thing about the color analysis and also with the going gray movement that's similar, is there's no hard and fast rules.. You want to do what feels good on you and what brings out what you consider your best qualities., And it doesn't have to be beauty, but it can be emotion. Too., Like going gray, has made me feel more liberated., Yeah. And free and joyful., And sometimes I want to express that through color. Yeah., It's interesting. Yeah.I mean I think, ultimately, I'm a firm believer that the closer you can get to your authentic self and that, I Think also means sometimes your outward appearance. And honestly, whatever that definition is because people might assume when I say your authentic self and your appearance must mean oh natural, but that's not necessarily true.. It'S really just a reflection of like who you really are and what how you want to express yourself.. So some people don't want natural hair.. Some people want to color it or put in pink highlights, or you know, that's their self expression. And it's also a self expression to let it be silver and white, because that's who you are. And that's what makes you feel good about yourself. So I don't think, there's any hard and fast rule.. I think the only rule is do something that you truly want to do for yourself and not what you think is going to make someone else happy or make yourself more attractive to someone else.. You need to be attractive to you. First, you need to be able to look in the mirror and really like what you see before trying to get a validation from other people, because nothing is more beautiful than a woman just owning who they are.. I'M going to look at my list of questions here. Cause. I have a few questions for you from readers, so ..., I'm excited. Okay.. So this one lady says: do certain color seasons just suit gray, hair., I'm a bright, clear, spring, green-blue eyes, neutral, warm skin, a former natural dark golden chocolate, brown hair., I'm about 50 % gray now and find my silver hair clashes with my warm skin and makes Me look a bit ill. Should I start wearing bright, head scarves Okay., So her silver hair, so she's, naturally warm and bright., And she she's now got silver hair and she thinks it clashes with her coloring. Yeah says: she's only 50 % gray. And one thing I Tell people sometimes is, I don't know when she says 50 % gray.. I don't know if that means it's all sprinkled in or if it means she's growing it out.. I know that's true., I'm going to assume she's. It'S blend maybe like yours., And she said she was naturally like golden brown before.. She says her. Natural hair color was dark golden chocolate, brown hair with green-blue eyes., Okay., All right., So okay. So, first of all, and since we don't have a photo of her like mother, nature, isn't wrong. Okay.. I highly doubt that the hair is clashing with her coloring. Okay.. My gut tells me that it's just that it's changing and change is hard and you are used to seeing yourself a certain way right And you're used to defining yourself a certain way: golden brown hair and the green eyes. And now you're, starting to tip over from That 50 % into I have more gray hair.. If I'm going to get real, my hair is more gray than it is brown now., And it's going to feel like it's, not you and it's off.. I don't think that you need to cover your hair at all.. I think what's going to happen., Which is actually kind of exciting, is that you can actually introduce some other colors and neutrals that you may not have always worn.. So someone who is bright and warm, but for her I don't know if she was medium.. I'D say medium because of her hair was brown. And maybe I'm going to assume her eyes are pretty bright, but most of the time, a lot of people with warm undertones, don't look great. In white. I mean I love fresh crisp white blouses. Like high quality blouses, and I think it's fresh on everyone., But in general, though, like creams, look better on someone that has warmer tone where someone with your coloring looks really great with that bright white.. When your hair starts the go white and you start to actually have white and silver in your hair, you can introduce some of those colors into your color palette.. So you can start wearing white in there and you can start playing with some of those cooler colors into your palette, because now you have it in your hair naturally. And it's just going to be a little bit different.. It'S not going to be this season, or this color type. You're, probably still going to be bright and warm.. You might be lightening up because your hair's getting lighter.. So in like your color style, it might be bright, warm and light., And then you can just start to play with some of those other colors that are showing up in your hair and have those as your neutrals and stuff.. It'S going to be really quite pretty.. I would not try to cover your hair up with scarves., Like I think own. It work with it and you'll get used to it after a while.. That'S what I'm thinking., Okay, so here's! The second question is now that I'm going gray, I need to rethink my lipstick choices to colors that don't wash my complexion out., I have a pale ruddy complexion and the subdued colors I used to wear with my dyed hair aren't flattering now. Can I do Okay.? So that is when you start to tip over into brighter colors.. So this is interesting and it really confuse people sometimes with this, because usually when I look at someone and let's say they have a nice soft gray blend hair, there's nothing, that's shiny about it right. It'S just a brown and gray blend., So it's really really soft.. It'S like a grayish quality to it. And let's say that they're already kind of a grayish quality about them. Their eyes might be a little soft. It could be soft, hazel or gray or soft blue., And so they only really stands out., And so, when I look at someone like that, textbook, your color style says they're soft. And therefore the softer more muted colors are going to look best on them. And a Lot of cases that's true., However, I've noticed that as women get older and there is no fine line here, because everybody ages differently right, But as they get older and they get more gray, the quality of them starts to just be more gray than anything else.. They kind of need a little bit of a pop. Right, And so what she might be seeing is that she's doing what she's been told to do, probably - which is oh, you had this softer coloring, where these softer colors, but now that she's, probably more dominantly gray Than she was something else, everything starts to just kind of blend and it may not feel good., And so you might need a little bit of a pop. Now I don't think you should go fire engine red or you know bright shining magenta in that case.. I think it's more of try something that is a little bit bright and light.. So if you were to take like the magenta, you're wearing and add some white to it right, So it's a lighter version of that and try playing with those lighter brighter colors and put that into your color palette.. So you can still wear the colors you're wearing.. You can still wear the lipstick that you were wearing., But if you're feeling like it's draining, you try something a little bit lighter and brighter, not darker, because that's going to age, you more. It's going to be lighter and brighter on her lips. She's, probably already starting To feel that intuitively, but that's kind of what's happening with her. One lady wants to know if she can wear gray with gray hair.. Of course, this is all about the look right. The message that you're kind of putting out there for yourself. - If you are feeling like there's really you just want to kinda, I want to use the word neutral.. You just want to be neutral right, Nothing spectacular about the outfit.! You just want to keep it simple.. If you find a gray that kind of actually almost matches your hair, you go into this monochromatic look and it might actually come across a little boring because it's so monochromatic that you might want to add in one small thing whether it's a statement, necklace or a Bright bag or bright lipstick, or something like that to kind of make. You look really interesting because you're going to be very monochromatic, but also be very interesting, especially if you add in that one element., Where things get a little funky - and this is true for people with red hair too, is when you're wearing a color that doesn't really Match it's a little off. Then it's like similar but not different enough. And it might feel, might not look right. Like you found a warm gray, but your hair is cool and silvery. It may be like eh. That'S that's not going to work. So either. If you get a gray that actually is picking up an actual shade in your hair, that's fine, you should totally do that. And then you just go with the look. You want to go for. And then, if you are like well, I'm not so sure I would go lighter or darker for a little contrast and interest right. So white is always really nice or a really really light gray with a darker gray hair.. It could be really really pretty., And the only other thing that I would say to caution is to notice where you lean in the temperature.. So if you have cool undertones, it's likely for your gray, hair silver and white hair has a little bit of a cool hue to it. Little bit of blue not saying you have blue hair, but if you compare to something else, you would see it.. There are also women that are gray white hair that actually have a little bit of yellow in it. Yeah. And I've met them. And at first you go. Oh, she has white hair., But if you were to put her next to someone else that has cool undertone you'd, see this one's so yellow now and this one's so on. The blue, side.. So try to get familiar with where you are in that temperature scale, because that's the grays you want to wear.. You don't want to end up with a warm gray. If you are really cool - and you don't want to really wear cool grays, if you're warm, because both will not feel right. Does it seem like we need to wear more or makeup or lipstick with gray hairs? No just the color changes right. Yeah., Like we talked about so definitely don't change your makeup.. I think, if anything, it's just the lightness or darkness or brightness of the color that needs to change right. That might need to change right. So if you feel a little drained, it's not more makeup. Just might be a little bit brighter., Just a little bit. Okay. How to handle warm skin with cool hair.. I think it's an unexpected color combination right Because you think oh I've got warm hair. Now I have this cool hair.. My gut tells me - and this is just because we just talked about this - and we answered a question similar a few minutes ago. You know mother nature doesn't get it wrong., And my gut tells me, though, that if you have warm undertones and your hair's going gray, it probably still has warmth in it.. Even if you can't see it, it's just that it's going cooler than you're used to.. So if anything, it just means that you might need to lighten the colors that you're wearing., It's possible, it softens you.. So if you have say medium brown eyes and you had dark hair once and your warm undertones right, And so you always wore bright and warm colors., And now that you're more gray, it may soften you and you might look better in some of the softer warm Colors versus the bright colors, depending on how you're graying out. That's how it's going to affect you., But it's not going to necessarily completely change the colors that you're going to wear.. This is kind of in the similar vein.. This lady wants to know if warm foundation color works with cool gray hair., It is impossible for me to tell anyone whether or not they should wear warm or cool makeup, because - and this is going to sound contradictory., Your foundation should match your skin tone right And Which can only be done in person by someone who really knows what they're doing, unless you know what you're doing either way it should match.. However, that is a very different thing than your undertone., So you could have someone with warm undertones, for example, that has little bit of pink in their skin. And the foundation they wear may be a balance of some pinks and yellows.. Where me, for example, I don't have anywhere near as much pink., So my I foundation is more yellow., Everyone is different., And so I would never tell someone that you should wear cooler or warmer foundation because of your color type.. That just really has everything to do with your unique skin tone and nothing to do with anything. Else. Okay. People struggle with this all the time.. They assume that, oh, my foundation is blank.. So, therefore, I must not have cooler tones because I have to wear a warmer foundation.. So that's not true. Everybody's skin tone's, just a little bit unique. And that's why it's so hard, sometimes to find the right makeup right, Like foundation, can be really hard for some people to find just the right. Match., There's also the individuals that have more of the olive skin tone. Right. Surprised. We haven't really gotten into that, but that olive skin tone can come across warm. Right.. It can have a golden quality about it, which confuses a lot of people, because when they go to the warm color palette, it still doesn't feel right.. A lot of women with olive skin will go white, and it might be that it's like. I have this warm skin and now I have this white hair and it can be really really confusing, especially when you're in store lights and store lighting., You may even come across more warm., And so therefore they start to put warmer colors on you. And you're, like This isn't right., I feel, like those individuals are so neutral in their skin tone, because all of this blue and yellow right., It's cool and warm together and this kind of greenish quality., And I think they probably have the hardest time finding foundation. Based on feedback that I get. There's never a really perfect match for those individuals that are right there on the line of not a hundred percent warm or a hundred percent cold they're right there in the middle., And it makes really hard for them to find their makeup. Yeah. I was surprised I didn't get more questions this time too, from women with olive skin, because I've had a lot of questions on my blog about that, like olive skin, with gray hair throws them off about their their clothing choices. With a woman like that, is it Best to talk you and get one of those color fans and really try to see where my color lies. Yeah.. So there's a couple things you can do.. So the olive skin tone is really challenging because in photos they sometimes come across much more warm than they really are in person.. So when we get clients like that that have that quality, we have to take everything into consideration. So like what you're referring to right is those color analysis cards.. So if you were set up for a color analysis or even just get the DIY kit either way you get these cards., You would think I would've had one in front of me but anyways they're cards. You hold up them to your face and you can take the photo. And why it's so important for us is we get that point of reference.? So if it was just a person's face, then it's like? Oh, they seem warm, but then you hold up a warm card and you're like. Oh, that's, not right., And you know you pull out the cool card and you're like oh, no, no, that that's more alignment.. So it's sort of like a draping but via photo right Because we do all online and it it's a good thing, because we can't go in person anyway now. But it helps a lot to have something that has colors that are specific to either you're cool or you're warm., Because there are certain colors that just simply don't transcend both palettes., Like that magenta pink, for example, will not ever look good on someone with warm undertones.. It'S a very blue, pink, it's a very cool color and it's perfect for people with cool undertones.. Maybe it's bright for some people, but it is cool and not flattering. On someone with warm undertones., The cards that you get have the colors that are specific to cool or warm and then there's a variation in there based on like soft or bright.. But if you don't look good in those colors, it's likely because you look good in the other set of colors., There's a sweet spot for both warm and for cool., And that's kind of how you can play.. Most of the time, though, a lot of people with olive skin really get frustrated and they come to us and then we help them. Out.. I'Ve noticed that maybe 75 % of the time, someone with olive skin tone, regardless if they've gone, gray or not tend to lean more to the cool side, which surprises a lot of people. Yeah.. I'M surprised., I get comments like oh well. I can wear gold jewelry.. Well, yes, because you're in the middle, So both cool and warm jewelry, for example, silver and gold is going to look good on you.. It'S not always what's the key differentiator. Sometimes it's just that we play and we study, and then we realize that you don't look so great in orangy red If you had warmer tones, you should, and you look really great in that magenta pink., And so we start to go. You know what You're, probably very, in the middle you're feeling very neutral.. You look pretty neutral., but you're going to lean more towards cool in a way.. That'S so interesting.! I never would've guessed that. Yeah. This is what I've discovered.. Now it's not always true.. There are a few people with olive skin tones that I'm like gosh, you kind of lean more to the warm, so we're going to choose that palette for you instead., But it's always kind of a lean and never necessarily like bam, you're right, there. Yeah.. So they just come across so neutral. And they feel like chameleons, because they can wear a lot of colors in the range and lucky them.. But that's nice.. So I think you've answered all our question., So I was going to tell people that they should definitely check out your webinar about gray, hair and color.. I found it really interesting myself and I've got nothing but good feedback on this. I'll link it below in the show notes. Definitely. Yeah., It's totally free. And I hope it really helps because I grabbed like I forget how many photos as many photos I possibly could Find to put in there for examples and stuff. And so yeah. I walk through everything we're talking about, but we walked it through in stages right And I walk you through the three steps and hopefully, at the end you can make some conclusions about yourself. At a minimal. I think there's always some light bulb moments of, like I didn't think about that.. Oh, that's why it doesn't work. And that's just a great feeling, too., And that would be a win for me. If that even happens right So yeah, they should totally check it. Out. Yeah, please I'll, put links to that. And then I also will put a link to that quiz that you have on your site and you'll see we kinda figure out what their colors, are., Definitely. And so I'll have all your information linked below. But thank you. So much for talking to us. - And I thought that was really interesting and I know it's going to help a lot of my viewers and readers out.. It is absolutely my pleasure.
