What'S up y'all, welcome and welcome back to my channel if you are new, please be sure to click that subscribe button before you go and if you are already family, then thank you for joining me again. It is about that time to moisturize these mini twists. So that's what I'm gon na be doing. I actually have my handheld hair steamer today, which keyword new products gifted me. So thank you guys for that. If you don't have your own hair steamer, then don't even worry. I'M gon na tell you how to achieve a hair steaming experience without it, so just stay tuned. Also. What I use is my favorite oil and, if you've been watching me for the past week or the past year, always talking about this product, Haitian, castor oil, the Rue de Muscat D, or you can also substitute that for Jamaican, castor oil stay tuned. So before I get started, let me take these twists down. I'Ve been wearing them all day, so anyway, I have used this before and there are some things that I don't like about it and I'll just talk you through it. While I do this hair steaming, the q reduce steamer is really easy to use. All you have to do is remove. Is a reservoir fill it with water? They recommend you fill it with distilled water, but I don't drink distilled water, so it's gon na have to be spring water. For me, we replace the rubber cap, put the reservoir back in space, plug it into a wall. Outlet wait for it to steam up and you'll know when it's ready after the indicator, light stops blinking after that you just go in into your day. Hair steaming may seem irrelevant. I mean this is the first time I've ever seemed my hair to my knowledge, and I've been fine without it, but for the Nach was with lower porosity. Hair steaming is a good way to help your hair absorb the moisture from the water vapor, which allows your hair to stay moisturized longer and it's easier for your products to penetrate your strands after hair steaming, steaming, also improves elasticity and again it opens up your pores. So as soon as you're done steaming your hair, this is the perfect opportunity to apply those oils that you love the ones that promote hair girl. This is phenomenal for that, because that oil really does penetrate your skull after it's been steamed. I also read that when you steam, your hair, my hand hurts. Oh, there are toxins in your scalp that are released so that your scalp can be cleansed and purified. I don't really know how accurate that is, I'm just gon na go with it, but I did read that online hair steaming encourages blood flow within your scalp and you know that when your blood is circulating really well in your scalp that helps to promote hair growth. I think I talked about this later on, but if you do not have a hair steamer and you can't afford one during these times - that's totally fine. I would say turn on the hot water in your bathroom in your shower and turn it to the hottest setting and just chill in your shower. You don't have to be in it, but the door has to be close to that. The steam stays trap and that'll be a steaming, a therapy session for you, but that's only if your water gets hot enough now. I think I might've touched up on this later on, but I take really really hot showers, so that has always been my form of hair steaming without ever owning the tool. So then I take my Haitian, castor oil and I begin to apply it onto my scalp. What I'm done whaling each section? I switch them up or put them up some type of way so that I know that this section is already done and I don't have to go through it again, accidentally well, okay! So now that that's over I'm going to give myself a nice scalp massage so that I can help distribute the oil and to get the juices flowing in my scalp in my how to grow, hair long and healthy, or something like that I'll link it up. Above for you and down below for you, but in that video, one of my tips was making sure that you're giving yourself a regular scalp, massage whether that's once a week twice a week, whatever regular means for you. But I know that that's one way to promote hair growth, so that's one way that I've been trying to stay consistent. If it just me or did the seeming stretch, my hair a little bit Wow in much of it, did my hair have this much shine before. I steamed it, I don't remember it looking this good, I'm impressed steamer all right. So, let's break down some of the things that I do like about the steamer one. I like that it's a steamer, so it gives me the freedom to open up my hair follicles. Whenever I want to without having to get in the shower and I'll talk about that in a little bit, I love that it's so simple. All I have to do is refill the reservoir whenever it's running out of water and pop it right back into the steamer plug it into the wall, and it's steaming whenever I need it. Some of the things that I don't like about the steamer aren't that one. It'S handheld, so one thing about being a natural is that arm. Aches are real when it comes to wash day when it comes to detangling when it comes to blow-drying everything basically hurts and so to have another tool. Add to the pain, it's kind of like a headache, so I wish that I had a hooded hair steamer. That would be way more beneficial. If you ask me, I would rather sit under a dryer than so. You have to blow-dry my hair by hand just like I'd rather sit under a hooded steamer than sistene my hair by hand. Also after multiple uses, I've learned that you can easily burn yourself with this hair steamer. If you let it sit for too long, and by too long I mean, if you let it sit in one section of your hair, for literally it feels like two seconds: it's gon na burn you that's something that I really don't like. I had to learn how to basically like I was showing you Pat my hair with the steamer, to make sure that it doesn't burn me, which again just adds to my army, and the last thing is: I haven't gone through this yet, but I was reading in The user guide or the manual that the little holes where the steam comes out of can get clogged. So when it does get clogged, there's a hole, the process you have to go through with unclogging it, which could be easy. I'Ve never tried it before, like. I said all I did was read about it, so that's also unfortunate because again as a natural, I want to do as little as possible, because my hair already takes a lot of work, so the easier the tool, the better it is, the more likely it is That I would gravitate to that tool. So the fact that I basically have to clean this out - mmm - it's not impossible, but I don't love it other than that. I really do like this hair steamer, I feel like it got. The job done got my hair, nice and moisturized, like my hair is wet, but it's not silk. If you wanted to do this even throughout the day. So if you wanted to do this at noon, you could just plug your steamer and steam your hair and then walk out and go run your errands or do whatever you have to do, and your hair wouldn't be dripping. It'D just be nice and moisturize for you to carry on your day, and here I was saying that if you don't have a hair, steamer do not fret and the reason I say this is because I feel like the temperature in which I take. My showers is hot enough to steam. My hair granted - I don't always take advantage of it so having to sit down with my steamer, is kind of setting the tone for hey you're about to see in your hair. So now you need to put some products in it: put some oil in it buy products on the oil. Every time I get out of the shower. My initial thought is not OK. My hair is steamed. Now let me go grab some oil and moisturize my hair. So I feel like the steamer does set the tone last thing: if you do want to heat the oil that you're using, I think that's a great idea. That'S also a great way to open up your follicles if you are not seeming your hair, but make sure that your oil is not piping hot. When you are applying it because you will burn your scalp in that you don't want that alright, guys. That is the end of the video. Thank you so much for tuning in again, if you are not already family, please be sure to click that subscribe button down below give this video a big thumbs up and comment down below how you moisturize your hair. When you have in a protective style I'll see you guys in my next video

Adelaida Sankare: So far I have used the steam from the shower, I will try this! I hope you don’t stop creating content, I am from Spain and in my language there is no girl with 4c hair and who does this type of content. 1 year ago I did the big chop and searching on youtube you were the first person I saw to know how to take care of my hair! And I fell in love with your spirit and your way of being. I hope you overcome everything you are going through, nobody knows what you need better than you. Keep it up sister! PS: I don't write very well in English, I hope it is understood

I Am Eloho: I definitely need this my 4C don’t retain nathaaaaan

Creative Hippy: I’ve experienced the clogging w/ mine(Had mine for about 7 years)The best way to fix it, is to sprinkle some baking soda into the holes and add a tsp of vinegar to water in the water compartment.. Let steam run thru til water is gone and it’ll be just like new

MiVidaBellisima: It asks for distilled water because it doesn’t have the minerals in it that would clog it overtime so if you don’t want to have to unclug it it might be worth buying the gallon of dh20, I think it’s only $1

Cats are Funny: “Arm aches are real” I really needed to hear someone else relate to this struggle. The simpler and healthier my haircare gets, the more my arms hurt ‍♀️ I REFUSE TO GO BACK tho

SHE McG: Your hair looks amazing even after the necessary manipulation and beneficial scalp massage! Go Girl & thanks!

Nobudy Nanim: I never knew about the cons to this product until you mentioned them. Thank you for being honest with us always!!❤️❤️

alicerp2008: To steam, I sometimes just use a towel and soak it with really hot water, squeeze out excess water and scrunch my hair with the towel

natural beauty: I love my Q-Redew, which I've had for about 4 years or so. I also use it as a face steamer, just hold it back from my face and it works great!

Browndigs69: Just do the baggy method spray bottle with liquid of your choice, a moisturizer or leavin. Then seal with a oil or butter.....Cover your head with a plastic shower cap 1 or 2 caps then just pad your head bonnet scalf bennie go to bed and wake up in the morning with moisturised hair....Dont do this method to often you don't want hydra fatigue. Girl get your self a bonnet hood dryer, you no the travel ones put the q redew in the hose part there you have a hooded steamer. You can get one for 5 or ten bucks.

Donna McKinson: Clogging is caused by using hard water from your tap. This is why you use distilled water in steamers, kettles, clothes irons etc.

peacocksandpeaches: Thanks for the gems . I always wanted to buy a Q redrew, but I use my clothes steamer instead...dual purpose ‍♀️ works just as great

stevieT stevens: Your hair looks healthy and the vid. is interesting. I steam my face sometimes )Swiss Kriss Herbs), but I've never considered how steaming can also benefit my hair...go figure! The shower is a good tip too, rather than slapping a shower cap on. Here's a way you can strenghthen your arms: certain yoga moves/and/or stances help to strenghthen your arms so they don't get tired. Thanx, sis.

Kayla: I thought about using my face steamer for this aswell the ones that push out steam into the air and you can adjust the height and just turning the opposite way (steam my hair instead of my face) once a week lol ‍♀️ might work

Myrna J: Hey Beautiful!!!❤ I'm definitely going to use Mine this Weekend I was Gifted it and Love it.

Dini J: I use it on my face also. You do great videos! Stay safe!

solarLola: Omg I thought I was the only one who used handheld steamer to moisturize my twists .. wow talk and changing my hair. I thank God for revealing this crucial step for low porosity hair

Jessica Virgo: I enjoy your videos so much! So my question is, does your hair receive the moisture the second or third go round after sealing it with an oil when first styling?

Sandy D Lea: You are the only YouTuber that I have watched that has broken down the steamer like you have. pity it's not available in the UK

nicole ashley: I use a fabric steamer with no chemicals only needs water and works the same way

hayabusahime: I used to use a clothes steamer and I gave heat damage in the back I broke down and bought a hooded steamer. Best decision of my life. My hair stays moisturized for about 4 days after I do the LCO method.

Brown Skin60: Great video. Btw distilled water is basically boiled water. I boil water all the time to use in my DIY hair products.

Taliana Riettien: I am hair for these videos. Girl keeping me entertained during this sad time

K Jay: I have heard steamers work, but I think the hot shower will work for me. It did add some length to it after you steamed it but thats expected because of the water.... great video.

Génika Jo: Awesome vid! I actually use my portable clothes steamer for my hair I mean....it does the job!‍♀️ Lol

Crafted By Catiya Marie: Love the music and the hustle I can’t wait to try all your tips

Vanna J: Yea I just bought the Qredew and I don’t really care for it. I feel like the applicators are inconvenient and kind of hard to utilize on my twists. I’ll try to utilize when I take down my twists to pre poo and see how that goes.

Lexi Jay: I love how it refreshed your twists!

Cynthia Porter: Hi I'm 4C natural with low proximity nd I have had a electric cap steamer for years b4 I went natural. Plus they have da steam bonnents, u can put it in da microwave nd then place on ur head while doing chores, etc (so much simpler).

solarLola: I recommend adding products before steaming.. I see better results ..

Ashley A: Your the first person to mention the "steam burn"...thanks

Raquel Parrish: It’s easy to clean it out didn’t it come with the attachment it’s like $5. But you should really get distilled water. It’s good to clean it out after 4 or 5 uses with part water and part vinegar. I use it mostly to get tangled out of my hair before washing. Or if I’m restyling my hair brought this one first. Then wanted to just sit and get a steam. So I went and brought the Red Hardhead steamer because also because didn’t wanna burn this little one out

Gabrielle Johnson: *mentions Haitian castor oil*.... Me: immediately subscribes

Lilyan Kay: I did my mini twists but my hair is so fine it doesn’t look too cute like yours but I’ll keep it

KinkCurlandGo: This thing only lasted a year and it stopped working. I do the baggy method 3 times a week instead.

CuteNobi: I never thought about steaming my twists.

christine1962ful: Would love to see a video of you using it to get volume?

Medina B: Can you please drop a link to where you got your hair steamer? Or any stores that might have it?

Riana Grace: I'm doing these twist RT now

Dream Girl: Did you find the twists made your hair grow ?

spit kid: Can hair steaming clean your scalp with box braids

Dria B: Does your end still knot up an mini twists?

Afro Alchemist: Mini twist are the future !

Melina Nickie: There is a hooded hair steamer.. I bought it on amazon! It is AMAZZZING! It also doubles as a facial steamer. Look it up. Same process applies u add distilled or some sort of filtered water...
