Today's hair tutorial is, EASY Back To School Hairstyles for 2020! These hairstyles are perfect for medium - long hair lengths, and are quick to recreate. The first hairstyle is my personal favourite, and I like to call it the, Elevated Messy Bun. The best part about this hairstyle is that the messier it is, the better! The second hairstyle is a half-up half-down hairstyle with a fun bun detail, I really think you’re going to like this one. Thirdly, is a faux braided fishtail pony-tail, it’s so easy to recreate yet looks absolutely beautiful! Next up is another half-up half-down hairstyle with a beautiful knot bun and a fun mini 3 strand braid, I just had to include a 90s’ throwback. Then last but not least is a summer favourite of mine, and it’s a twisted braided voluminous ponytail. I’m excited to hear what you all thought, and don’t forget to leave a comment letting me know which hairstyle is your favourite!

Best of luck to everyone headed back to school this year!

Hello, everyone welcome back now, somehow it's that time of year again it's time for back to school hairstyles. Now i remember that student life, so i made sure these hairstyles are quick, they're, easy low maintenance and, of course, cool. My favorite is the elevated messy bun. I really think you're going to like it now whether you're going back to school or not. I always think it's really important to always keep learning new skills, so i thought who better to partner with than skillshare. So today's video is sponsored by skillshare. They are a massively popular online learning community and if you have any free time, i highly recommend checking them out like in the morning when i'm enjoying my cup of coffee. I just turn on skillshare and it just gets me in such a great headspace. For the rest of the day, currently, i am watching the fundamentals of photo editing by justin bridges and i'm really loving it, because it's helping me advance my lightroom skills, which i use to edit the thumbnails for my videos and to edit my instagram pictures, and it's Also helped me kind of find my own style with my pictures, i'll link his class below and whether you're into photography like me, or maybe you want to grow your social media or step up your cooking game. There is a class for you, there's literally like thousands to choose from and they're always adding new ones, so for less than ten dollars a month with an annual subscription, you will have access to unlimited ad free learning and for the first 1000 of you to click, The link in my description, you will receive two months of premium for free so make sure to join and learn as much as you can and definitely let me know which classes you're checking out, i'm always looking for new ones, all right. Let'S turn around and get started all right, let's start with my favorite, so i like to call this. The elevated messy bun so gather all of your hair into a high ponytail, and i like to scoop the hair up nice and high from above my ears, and then i join in the rest. Okay, so this hairstyle is great because the more i'm done the better. So begin pulling out small pieces of hair from all along your hairline so in front of your ears, your neck, like all over the less perfect, the better all right once you're happy with how everything looks secure your ponytail and on that last loop just cross. Your hair elastic at the side of your ponytail and then, instead of pulling your hair all the way through only pull it a little bit to create a small bun, and you want your ends to be coming out. The left side, similar to this all right, give your arms a break and then fan out your bun mess it up a little bit if it's looking too perfect. Okay, so you want the base of your ends to stay on the left side of your bun, so use a finger just to help to anchor the bun into place and then begin wrapping. Your ends counterclockwise around the base of your ponytail once your ends are wrapped. All the way around just hold them or clip them into place and begin securing your bun to your head. Now, if your elastic is still showing like mine, it's all good, but you can use some more bobby pins just to secure your sections together to help cover it up all right. I love how this hairstyle turned out. I typically do low buns and i've been missing out. I think this looks so cute. Next we have a beautiful half up hairstyle. So for half a pair styles, i like to gather all of my hair from my temples and up that way, there's still hair down to cover my ears, which i find, gives the hairstyle a softer. Look all right, secure your section into a tight ponytail and just pinch and pull on the hair around the crown to add some more volume and dimension. Okay, divide your little ponytail in half, so you have an upper and a lower half. Now, with your upper half, you just want to begin securing it into a ponytail and, on the last loop cross, your elastic underneath your section and then pull your hair partially through to create an upside down bun, and you want your ends to be coming out. The top all right give your arms another break. I played tennis like two days ago and my forearms are still so sore, so this break was appreciated. Okay, take your ends, divide them right down the middle, pulling it into two sections and just place them down the sides of your bun. Okay, take your bun and fan it out. I find the easiest way is to place my index finger through the middle of the bun to hold it into place, while my other hand pulls on small pieces to fan it out once you're happy with this size use some bobby pins to secure the bun. Just above your hair elastic, so it stays more upright. Then i went ahead added some more curls with a 32 millimeter barrel and there we have it. I think this hairstyle is so cute, it's perfect for any occasion and it will stay secure all day. Long next is a very simple, yet beautiful, faux fishtail ponytail, so gather all of your hair into a ponytail, and i like to gather my hair from the underside and lift it to where i want my ponytail to sit. I find that this helps maintain a lot of volume on the top, then secure it. So i'm using a hair bungee, which is just two bobby pins attached to a hair elastic, and i like to use these because they help create a super tight ponytail. While maintaining all that volume and movement on the top and for a more effortless look just pinch and pull on small pieces around your crown, which will also add more volume, next wrap a piece of hair around your hair elastic to cover it and i've been loving. Small braids, so i thought, it'd be cute to braid a small piece of hair and then wrap that around my hair elastic. But you could also use a scrunchie which is a lot faster. All right take one more hair elastic and about four fingers down from the base of the ponytail. You just want to secure this into place. All right divide this new section down the middle into two using your index fingers and thumbs and then once you've created a hole, make sure there's no hair in the way you want to flip your ponytail up and pull it all the way through there. You go you've got yourself a faux fishtail. How cool is that, so to really make it pop? You want to pancake it by gently pulling on small pieces throughout. This will help it appear larger, especially at the top. You can create a ton of volume, all right wrap a small piece of hair around that lower elastic and there we have it. How beautiful is this hairstyle? And it's surprisingly quick? I can't wait to wear this one out and about i get a lot of requests for half a hairstyle, so here's another super simple one so begin by gathering all of your hair into a half a ponytail and for this hairstyle i only really gathered the hair From above my temples that way, i have more hair hanging down and it looks nice and full now, once you have that top section, just secure it with a hair elastic and on that last loop cross, your elastic at the top, and only pull your ponytail partially Through to create a little bun and then just pull on the sides of your bun to fan it out, next grab a piece of your hair elastic from the underside of your bun and pull it down, and we are going to loop. Our hair through it. You'Ll see, okay, so take your ends loosely twist them two to three times clockwise and then wrap them counterclockwise around your bun. I really sound like a great school teacher when i say that: okay, once wrapped grab onto your ends - and you want to pull them all the way through your hair - elastic to lock your bun in place and look at that. Okay, let's transform this so gently, pull on the section that we just wrapped to really help it pop and then pinch on really small pieces throughout it, as well as around the crown to add even more dimension. Now i added some curls because you know i want to look nice for all of you and then i snuck in a teeny, tiny, three strand braid for some added detail, and then i just teased the ends of it to hold it into place. Okay, i love this, it's so simple, yet beautiful, and maybe you recognize this technique, because it's the same as my favorite go-to updo and last but not least, is a beautiful twisted ponytail. That is a lot easier than it looks. I promise so begin by gathering all the hair from above your temples to just before the back of your head, and i left out the front like one to two centimeters of hair from my hairline just to frame my face and i did go ahead and add Some texture spray, which will help hold the twists, hold this section towards the back of your head and divide it into two equal pieces. So you have a left and a right piece all right, so we're going to do a very simple variation of a rope braid. So cross your right section over your left and then repeat so bring that new right section over your left section and then repeat, bringing your right section over your left section now. My biggest tip with this braid is to not twist the sections around one another. You want to make sure that you are crossing them, because if you twist them they'll just undo all right once you've braided pretty far down just hold your ends and it's time for the fun part. So starting at the top begin. Pancaking your twists. By pulling on the tops and the bottoms of them take your time with this, because it's much easier to make them bigger than it is to make them smaller once you're happy with your twist just secure your ends. For now, i just used a bobby, pin and gather the rest of your hair into a ponytail and then take that braid and if it untwisted a little bit just spin it away from your face to re-wrap the braid and then join it into your ponytail and Secure everything together and again, i used a hair bungee, since it just helps to keep everything in place, but a hair elastic will work perfectly fine. Then i took a small piece of hair from the underside of my ponytail and wrapped it around my hair elastic to hide it, and i just pinned it to the underside of the ponytail all right. Then i took some volumizing powder and this makes a huge difference in the appearance of the ponytail you'll see. So i just spray it underneath the top, like one-third and two-thirds of the ponytail, and i just used my fingers to activate the powder, no teasing whatsoever and look at all the volume. Okay, how cute and fun is this hairstyle? I really love that braided detailing, and i would love to know was this easier than you thought it was going to be so there we have it. Definitely let me know which of these hairstyles was your favorite and which one you're going to try, don't forget to tag me in your recreations on instagram i'll, also, post pictures of all the final looks over there, but i hope you liked today's video, if you did Please give it a thumbs up and best of luck to all of you heading back to school, but thank you so much for watching i'll talk to you all next time.
