So i promised i would share my haircut with you, because i have very fine thinning hair, which many of you do. I am not a stylist, but i've kind of been examining what she did um, so she parted it down the middle. The bottom is a bob. Just short, but what she did is she cut a very big chunk at the top. That'S very blunt, as well. Um same with this whole top, it's just very blunt, all the same length, so that allows me to get some left. So here's what i do um. I use the kevin murphy anti-gravity gel because it doesn't add a lot of weight to my hair, put a tablespoon in my hair and just put it all the way through it's a good time to show you where it's thinning. I mean it's thinning all over, but it's sitting a lot right here and right here. I'Ve always had a forehead, this sort of qualifies as a five head. Okay, so then i use a round brush this barrel is about an inch and a half, so i use the low heat on the brush till it's warmed up and dry, and then i use the cold shot button to cool the hair off before i remove the Brush and this helps increase lift so now i flip my hair to different sides to get extra height i'll, wear it three days on one side three days on the other, so it just gives a little bit more lift depending on the direction. I want it to go that day. I blow it in that direction, but then lay it the other way to cool so kind of like this, and so as that's cooling, the roots are getting even more of a lift and when i flip it back, i've got extra height. I do the same thing at the back of my head: rolling it in the direction i want it to go, but laying it forward the opposite direction until it cools. Then i just capture my hair in my round brush and leave it there like a great big roller until it's totally cool, then i have a couple tools of the trade that i swear by and that's good old-fashioned, hairspray and dry shampoo. I use dry shampoo every day, so i will just lift the sections and give it a little shot at the roots back out, do the same little shot at the roots, and then this is kind of like teasing it. I suppose i end up with a cruella de vil, look which i let cool when i go to style it and put it into shape and get rid of the mess. I don't comb it all the way through. I don't brush it right to the scalp, because i'm trying to keep the lift - and i don't want to snap my my hair - because it's so fine, so i just kind of lightly brush over the top of it, because this will just go flat. If i don't do something so i take hairspray and i lift it and i spray a teeny little bit underneath yeah, that kind of dries instantly again even less brushing on the top now just to kind of put it into place. And then, when i have it at a shape that i like and i'm making it a helmet head, but it's close okay, so just a real all-over light spray and that's it that's how i style my hair. So it doesn't look like a skull cap and still has a little bit of movement to it and a little bit of lift it falls throughout the day. There'S no question about it, so i pop it behind my ears. This is kind of a natural thing. I'M always doing because that adds a little bit of left so anyway, that's it! That'S how i'm styling my um poker straight baby, fine, hair, that's thinning um, a lot of product! I think product is key and um not being afraid of using good, old-fashioned, hairspray and dry shampoo. That'S how i do my hair

Katherine Wold: Thank you, a real woman with the same real issues as I have. Your technique is doable and your style is flattering, not just another older woman with a pixie. You have *a real style with volume around the crown and over the ears* with products I already have! Thank you so much Jennifer, I think I can do this...yay!!! : D

Kristi Astral: I started to have hair like this at age 13. I was so young. I trust the hacks from people like you rather than younger people who don't actually have thin hair but think they do. So thank you!

Melinda Mitchell: I started to notice thinning in my temple area at age 52. I was so nervous. Now I'm 64 and there is little hairs in that area. I lost the hair there. So if I pull my hair away from my forehead, you can see the no hair part. I used to part my hair to the side but now I can't because of the hair loss. So I have to cover it by putting my hair in the middle. It freaks me out when I'm blowing my hair dry. You do still have hair up in that area. I don't know your age, but mine just kept going away. You look very pretty.

Kristen Munson: Absolutely beautiful, and I so appreciate your video. I have exactly the same issues and you are the FIRST video I've seen who actually has good advice and actual thin hair. How YOU style your hair makes a big difference, and the result is so beautiful on you. Thank you!

Lynette Lopatic: Thank you so much for these tips! Your hair is like mine! I’ve had the same baby fine thin hair my entire 51 years of life and welcome this video!

Rose Marie: These are good tips. I notice hairs will fall out, so I brush it firmly upside down, too. I used to have my hair the same style as yours, now I'm missing it, I love your styling of it, it looks full and not too "done," but fun and joie de vivre!

Welaby: Thank you for sharing. Thinning hair is a journey I wasn’t quite ready for . . . . You have a great attitude and super suggestions.

Guest Leona: I love your attitude about thin hair…I have it, too…and your routine will definitely work for me…thank you

Lizzie Myers: Thank you for these super helpful tips!! My hair has never been thick, and I've only stuck to a few styles to hide that over the past few years.

Philomena Lear: Brilliant! My hair is so much like yours even cut, length and color. I complain about it having no body but to be honest, I have stopped bothering to do it properly. Thank You for reinspiring me.

Sherry Tabor: Thank you for your tips. My hair is thinning as well. I use dry shampoo but I haven’t thought of using it in this way, also the drying tips were very helpful.

Mona Kinnel: Nice hair style! I am 67 and have long hair and am noticing my hair is thinning quite a bit. I appreciate your idea with getting more volume and lift by hitting the cool button on the hair dryer before removing the brush...makes good sense! I have a high forehead and my hair has receded in the same areas as yours, so I depend on my bangs to hide this area. I love the way your hair falls around your face without having to resort to bangs. Refreshing and youthful look!

Iowangal Smith: I am 61 and have fine hair. You are so right abt letting it cool, I use that technique and it Works well for me. I have never tried the dry shampoo but I will try that and the other tips that you show thank you so much!

Rebecca Johnson: My hair was thinning then got worse after tornado and my husband passed few mo. Later. I started taking Collagen, and a multivitamin with collagen. Its helping saw results2 mo.i was a hairstylist for yrs. This did work for me I hope it helps . Rebecca

jayandess: I had enough of it all and started a collection of wigs which always look gorgeous and on trend. No more bad hair days. Simple!

Allie Cat: Thanks so much! I will definitely try this - 65 and hair is thinning all over!

Rita Cassidy: Thank you so much first video I've come across that shows us fine hair and how to deal with it Great video. Well done

Jennifer cando: At last someone with fine hair showing you how to style it Not like 99% YOUTUBERS with thick hair pretending it is fine because they just washed it and stuck it behind there ears.Good tips on style, products etc.

WithMetta: Great tips! Thanks! I looked for the Kevin Murphy gel, but it’s $35 here! That’s not going to happen! Can you recommend any less expensive gels you find useful? I use Rogaine 5% for thinning in the front. They say not to because you might get some extra hair growth on your face, and I do, but not anything I can’t tweeze away. It works quite well, and although there’s a pretty heavy initial cost ($90 for three cans in Canada, a lot less in the US), 1 can lasts me 3 months, so it’s about $10 a month.

Deborah Husband: Thanks for sharing. I've learned that a messy look increases the perception of more volume in my hair. I now spend less time trying to make it look perfect.

Juliet Capulet: I am your age and have pretty much your exact amount of hair and this is fantastic. Thank you!!! Subbing.

Karen Henry: Great job :) you know your hair and what it likes to get the lift. Its great to share these tips, with other women :)

Carol Palmer: Thank you for your helping us through our tough beauty problems

Deborah Jean: I know your challenge! Mine is truly find also. I find spraying my hands with spray and working just where I want helps! If I just spray my hair it flattens out again! Do love your cut!

S L: I have thinning hair and thyroid issues, too. Great video. New subbie.

first last: Salt spray helps my texture, flatness, and static electricity. Dry shampoo too often is so drying. I still use the Kenra texture spray I read you use. Also use Drybar Southern Belle root volume mousse. My hair stylist has thyroid trouble, at age 36 she is having thinning hair. She recommends rosemary essential oil about 20 drops in an 8oz bottle of shampoo. Smells wonderful, not sure it helps. I could always improve my diet.

Lina Draney: Remember to also take care of your hair with nutrition… bone broth, gelatin, vitamin e, whole food vitamin c, etc… 18 months ago I was loosing hair big time. Frightening. Now I have a lot of healthy hair. Once a week I dampen my hair and then massage scalp and hair with a 50/50 mixture of coconut oil and castor oil… leave it for at least an hour and then wash and style. Finally, I sleep with a hair bonnet…

Reality and Common Sense: You remind me so much of my mother who passed two years ago. Thank you for your video. My favorite is the dry shampoo. When I want to keep my volume long lasting. I use a teasing comb I purchased off of amazon for a few bucks.

Claire Bessex: You’re an inspiration love your attitude x

Suzanne Wood: Thank you for the great tips on this video. I having a great hair stylist to work with is the best tip of all. I recently tried L’anza dry texture spray recommended by my hairdresser. It’s expensive but you don’t need too much.

Christine Simpson: New subscriber on this platform ✋ Thanks for the tips! I use Purador shampoo and conditioner for thinning hair and I really like it.

Joan Gentile: Absolutely beautiful!! I love it!!

Bonnie Cartwright: Great video. I have even finer and thinner baby hair than you. I use talc to lift the roots or my daughter, who is a hair dresser, does the bob cut and blow dry. Most of the time I tuck my hair behind my ears. What I would give for a thick head of hair. Luckily my daughter has really thick hair, she takes after her dad. Yvonne UK.

Kml Art: I love this video. An older real woman I can relate too. Thank you.

Adele Jones: What a refreshing change to see real results, pity I have curly hair , it so difficult to style now without washing it.

Deborah Zuczek: Using dry shampoo every day (overuse) can lead to hair breakage and can clog hair follicles and prevent growth. Please reconsider your daily use of the dry shampoo.

Yvette Summers: thanks Jennifer. thyroid hair is the pits i can relate

cutepoiisonn: Loreal men's thickening cream is a god sent for me. its a black tub, and there's one called matt & paste too that's extremely similar if not the same

Heidi Walker: Thanks for the tips . A good haircut doesn't hurt either !

TundraWoman Says: And if these techniques don’t work for you or are too time consuming, consider a topper to give you the volume on top and if you choose, some interesting color to mix with your own. I truly get the hair loss thing....

Canadiangirl: Omg ! Same ! I’m now 39 and the last 3 years I’m thinning I’m same places as you . And I also have a “5 head “ I hate it ! Yours honestly looks fine !!! You look beautiful!

Florence Linderman: Thank you so much! You and your hair are beautiful!!

Liz Mesa: Great tips - thank you Jennifer!

Jo Sie: Finally, someone with my hair!! Thanks for the tips!

Judy Cooper: I have exactly the same hair and mine goes a bit flat in the afternoon too and I push mine behind my ears as well.Thank you for sharing.

Sherri Browneyes: I have your same hair,if I put the smallest amount oil in my hair it looks greasy, the dry shampoo covers the shine,so I just use curlers or braid it,shoulder length, and take them out in the morning, hot curlers only occasionally because my hair breaks easily like yours does, with our hair a perm will make it fall out, coloring makes it a little thinker so I have it frosted,it med do brown with light blonde,I made the mistake of bleaching the whole thing and it started breaking off,I never use a hair dryer,I keep it a little longer so I can wear it up,, thanks your hair looks great!

All that fluff N stuff: Absolutely beautiful ❤️ I loved watching this .! Hello from the Whitsundays, Queensland, Australia

Purple Sky: Nice video with good tips! Thank you!

Sharon La Tour: Jennifer, I think your hair is adorable! I would have loved to see the back of it. :) Thanks for the great tips!!

B B: Dry shampoo can build up on your hair and Scalp and cause your folicals to get clogged. That can cause hairloss. I bet you'd get these same results with the way you blow dry your hair and the hairspray. The dry shampoo is overkill. ♡

linda millett: This morning I washed my hair and copied you! It is perfect!

met5646: I have a question. I watched an earlier video where you use Kevin Murphy products. Do you still use those or are the products in this video better for volume ?

Cindy Lou Whoo: Thank you. It's been awful for me. Shaving your head does not make it grow thicker

Alexis Kiri: A tip for thinning hair is to massage the thinning area 2 mins or so, 2 to 3 times a day. This stimulates hair growth in the area being massaaged. (I do it while I watch TV)

Kristen Heerema: Work with what you have! You're stunning! :)

M. B.: Looks beautiful! You've got style!

missy tegeler: Love this - my hair is also fine and straight! - Super ideas, I've not seen on other U-tube sites - Thanks!

--: A bristle brush will split thin hair. You need the same kind of brush only the plastic ones

Donna Thornburg: Trying to grow my pixie hair out . Thanks for the tips . Will try these tips out. Thank you.

bigtimetorifan: Hairdressers alwaystell me the brush/roll technique is a good one. But i am really uncoordinated and can’t seem to do it A hairdresser also advised me that using dry shampoo to often can dry hair out and lead to damage.

Kayla Cayer: Great tips! My hair is so much like yours. Thanks for sharing.

Cyndi Lee: Great tips for thinning hair

Bonnie Oliver: Brilliant! And you look amazing.

Eileen LeBlanc: Hi Jennifer, Are you still using Rogaine? My hair was so similar to yours but I’ve lost a lot during COVID from stress so it’s much thinner than yours now.

Anna Burns: looks nice! Thanks for sharing.

Sally Warne: Your hair is just like mine. Drives me mad. Tried so many styles over the years. Thank you. Sally, Suffolk, UK xx

Joan Jones: I have the same hair and same haircut! thank you for the tips.

Rose Petal: Your hair looks great, but quite a bit of work ( ?). I have “ snapped” a lot of my thinning hair. My anxiety is very high

Sharon Mattes: Beautiful. Thanks hon. Lots of good tips. ( Youre in the will. )

Lainey Dunlop: Thanks Jennifer. Very helpful. Xx

armpitfuzz: OMG.... This lady has SO much hair. I'm green with envy. Does she do this every day ? I'm menopausal and sweat like a horse, I have to shampoo daily.... I am practically bald (no word of a lie ).

Mrs.Youmans 789990#: This was very helpful. Thank you!

A Z: Great tips!! Thanks!

Pauline Dean: Thank you so easy looks fab

Shirley Tkaczyk: Are you still using romaine? What are you thoughts on it as you did have a video in 2017. Thank you

Ruth Torphy: Morning. Just found you . I have your kind of hair. Thank you for your straight forward advice.

Globetrotter: perfect!

Beatrice Van Croonenborg: Guaranteed super volume for fine hair - crimping underneath layers, where it cannot be seen. As well as that, I use volume powder at roots, then tease, then setting spray those same layers. The top layer is left straight to smooth over all that work. Takes some practise to get it personalised, but absolute massive volume. And stays that way for days unwashed.

Pandora1: Thank you. I don't use dry shampoo because I was told it clogs your pores

Art with Mama Fairybread: Hair looks great…..( if I use dry shampoo everyday I get dandruff though)

Scotty Mathieson: Your such a pretty lady !!! You look great amazing hair !!!! :):):)

Mrs. P.: I ditched the dye and my hair now grows back.

Karin Carlson: Good advice!

Andrea Tran: I have fine thin hair also and the Dyson Air Wrap has been a game changer.

Sarah D: I LOVE your haircut. I want that cut!!!

Ruth Henriquez: This is helpful. But you have quite a bit more hair than I do. If I do anything to establish lift, you can kind of see my scalp through the upstanding hair shafts. I have to wear it flatter than you do.

Janelle M: Thanks for sharing. I am going to give this a go.

elle jay: very helpful thanks for the upload

Graeme Glendinning: Your hair looks fabulous

redcoralstrand: Looks good!

Renee H: I went to the Dermotoligist for my yearly (child of the 70’s, laying in the sun a lot) skin check up, I told her about my thinning hair and she put me on medicine, after 8 months, I’ve got sprouts of hair all over my head, my eyebrows are getting thicker and my lashes. I think if you have a problem, see your doctor.

Nicky Wilks: Great tips.

Sue h: Texturizing powder is helpful also.

Jo Salmon: I have thin hair like you. I have let it grow long and it looks much thicker.

Robin Reality: Finally, a video of someone who has hair like mine. Fine hair. Other folks talking fine hair n I just don't see it

C G: Are you still using minoxidil?

Light Shift: Buy wigs. Or take nutrition to restore the hair. Zinc is very important. There are supplements specifically for hair thinning at Whole Foods. And health food stores.

Angel777: One don't dye your hair 2 no heating implement, no hair spray or teasing hair, oil your hair wash it every other day buy a soft hair brush. Shoot I should do a video I think I'm 55 and got thick amazing hair.

Tina Davis: Nice job!

Erica B: You have a beautiful voice !!
