Hey everyone welcome back to the channel. Thank you so much for being here. If you are new hit that subscribe button, give it a thumbs up and don't forget to comment down below on what you think about today's video. So today's video is all about the biggest and coolest trends for haircuts in 2022.. So 2021 brought us a lot of texture, the wolf cup, probably being the biggest breakout haircut for 2021 from the likes of the squid game, uh series uh. Then we had like bullets and shags and they were making their way back in to like modern culture and trends. We'Re not going to see them disappear completely, but we're going to see marriages of incorporating different haircuts and techniques into them for 2022. But there's going to be a lot of texture still but blunt cuts. So, let's get into the video i'm going to tell you all about 2022's biggest haircut trends, so the first one i want to talk about - and i did a video on something similar was the big c. But now we're talking about the mixi and i was saying about bullets, so the mixie is a cross between the pixie and a mullet, so you've got all sort of internally, quite short, but then the exterior is still quite long and feathery and very very soft. This can be worn by anybody with straight wavy or curly hair. It can be air dried, it can be blow dried, it can be diffused. So this is a real haircut for somebody who wants something a little bit different loves it short, but maybe wants to embrace a little bit more length into their life. So another big trend which is sort of leading on from something which was very fresh last year and the year before it was the bangs and everyone's still asking for them. They'Re asking for them really short, quite long, uh sort of cheekbone area. But what we're going to be seeing for 2022 is possibly a little bit longer and the the term that everyone's using through it or we'll be using for it is 70s drapes. So what that means? Is it's going to be sort of sitting around about jawline? Maybe a little bit longer, but what this will do if you're thinking of growing out your bangs or fringe and you're, you really don't know what to do. You still want to add a bit of shape in there, but this is something that's just a bit longer. You can wear it middle side, partings, it's just a little bit more free-flowing. It'S going to give you that softer sort of look around your jawline rather than where we normally wear it up here and then what you want to add to it is just some longer layers a little bit longer texture, maybe a little bit more natural texture. If you've got a bit like a wave, we want to incorporate a wave into it. Just really softens it off. So if you're thinking of growing out your fringe and didn't really know what to do 70s, drapes is going to be a big trend for you embracing natural textures is always a talking point and always something where if you've got straight hair, you want curly, hair, curly, Hair, you want straight hair, but if you do have that curly hair, which you don't really know what to do with and you just normally wear it long, one of the biggest trends is going to be spherical shapes, and this is where you're going to be taking The bulk of the hair, the more internal layers and internal layers are normally around about here. You'Ll want to take those a little bit shorter to be able to lift your hair and give you more of a spherical shape. A really cool trend that i have loved doing - and i do on a few of my clients anyway, but this is the european bob and how it differs from a normal bob is that we normally see a bob where it's sort of straight or it's graduated. This way, a european bob is actually the other way, so it starts around about the lips and then just get gradually gets longer towards the back. What this produces is a really soft youthful look opens up the face. You can add that little bit of sort of movement in there lifting texture again is a really cool cool sort of term. I love to use right now, um getting some waxes or pastes or creams, and just really open it all up, but because it is shorter through here, it's gon na be easier just to open up around your neck and your jawline and gives you a much more Youthful look so a trend, i've actually done a video on and i did it last year, but i um changed the name to it. So i called it the bullet and it was because it was a cross between a bob and a mullet. And then a trend came out, was it late last year or a trend was sort of like appearing? It was called the octopus and if you could i'll link it up here, so you can. You can check out put in the description as well, so i did actually did the haircut on a mannequin during lockdown. Just have a little bit of a play, but the octopus haircut is is very, very similar where you've got these sort of long. Tentacle ends that you're keeping your length there, but all internally is really short layers, uh, something that's really head hugging. So when you look at octopus, you've got that shape and then it sort of comes away. That'S the shape you want to be creating with the octopus. So we've got like a sort of concave bob that comes in and is very strong, and then it's just loosely sort of all this texture around here. So that's the octopus, probably the biggest haircut for 2022, is gon na, be the textured bob. So when, after lockdown everyone's coming out longer hair embracing longer hair uh, they were sort of they'd had time to grow it. So they said i'm gon na go for a longer look, maybe layers and uh. I think now we can definitely see after this year. Um people are now sort of thinking. I want something different again i want to do. I still want something a little bit free flowing a little bit more lived in um, so the textured bob for me is going to be the biggest haircut for 2022.. I can already see it with the clientele coming in the salons. You see it all over social media and looking for texture in a bob, something quite weighty, so we can work on all hair textures, whether you've got super straight hair and that's great because it looks a little bit more shattered. Get hair dryer in there with some products. You just want to be really blast and it dry so you're creating that natural movement you've got wavy or curly hair. You could be scrunching some products in letting it air dry. I think air dry texture is going to be huge for 2022 and when it meets the textured bob there's going to be nothing better and then, if you're thinking that you don't want to go too short but you're not wearing it long anymore, you want to go Something a little bit sort of like a modern, mid length, shoulder grazing still airy texture still a lot of movement in there, but something which is, i suppose, less maintenance. You can still put it up if you need to get to the gym or anything like that. So i think, like a modern, mid length haircut, if you're a busy lifestyle, you want to wear it up down. Wavy curly smooth want to be able to blow dry it straighten it tong it. I think this is going to be the look for you and last one in today's video is low layers and people talk about low layers, clients. Normally they can have longer layers, but let's change up the sort of dynamic a little bit and add a little bit of interest, because if we just took long, if we talk long layers, it sounds a little bit boring. So when it's low layers, people, oh low maintenance layers, what is this so low layers are essentially longer layers, something where you want that bulk of hair around here still very, very full. You don't want to be taking away too much density from the mid-lengths and ends, which is where those longer low layers come in and again it's just. You can wear it on any length, so it could be a bob. It could be mid. It could be long as long as those layers are low. Then you can be wearing it curly straight wavy, natural texture, um wearing it up ponytail everything will go with this. Look super low mason. So if you are looking for a very low maintenance haircut for 2022, low layers is the one for you check out the inspiration in this video. You can screenshot it take it to your stylist and then hopefully, my little explanations of what i think is going to be back on trends will help you decide what you're gon na have for 2022. Let me know in the comments down below what you think you're going to go for i'd, love to know and until next time. Thank you. So much and i'll see you on the next video you

Marika Granger: Love your videos ...fantastic explanation of different hair types and styles ......love the sound of the textured bob

Rootatoot07: I still LOVE wolf/shag/mullet etc cuts. I'm not ready for that to go yet.

Glam Girl Gabi: Love it Paul! Have you been cutting that octopus style a lot? I haven’t seen it here in Canada but it’s super interesting and unique. It is almost the best of both worlds for getting that lift and fullness from a Bob and the length and flirtiness of long hair.

stormet54: I have a Euro Bob. I accidentally cut my hair too short and decided I liked it. Now I keep it shorter and use a wavy curling iron on it to give it some texture as my hair tends to be quite straight. I'll keep it for now. I'm also about 15 weeks into transitioning to grey. I have quite the skunk stripe.

Julia Marie: Going in next week for shoulder grazing bob with low layers (below lips). This should clean up the hack job I did during Covid . Thank you for the inspiration!

Jasmin Acevedo: Shoulder grazing with texture. It’s light, airy and perfect for any hair type and age.

Darklin: Love the low layers ...and the euro bob also the textured bob I’ll do all of them in that order

Joan Barrett: I think the EuroBob is going to catch on, it's a little retro feeling but also something we haven't really seen yet as a big modern trend. I however, won't be cutting my hair short. It's almost down to my knees and it's pretty healthy other than maybe the last 5 inches which is a bit dry and getting split ends. I might play with layers at the ends or some "drapes" bangs/fringe.

Venessa O'Connor: Hi Paul I live in Northern Qld Australia where humidity is a kill joy for my hair naturally is extremely thick, it has a weird kind of curly/wavey look and a straw like texture on top (yes it is bleached I'm not ready to elves the greys yet) but underneath from like just below my ears is very curly soft and healthy. It is just below my shoulder blades but it's just constantly in a messy bun slapped on the top of my head or I straighten the crap out of it to try and keep it under control and not look like a big triangle head I love the sound of the shoulder grazing but would be interested in what you would recommend to do with my frizz ball... oh and I'm 51 with an oval face shape if that helps???

Daisy Rosario: Great video and kudos for your over 40k subscribers! ✂

Diane Riverin: I got an Européen Bob and I love it

The Eerie Faerie: Stickin' with my long soft wolf cut!

Jennie Nguyen: I recently got a shorter texture bob again. Had a lob all 2021 bc I was growing out my hair but I got tired of it.

Michelle Bennett: Carol Brady, from the Brady Bunch, had the same exact mixie hairstyle. It’d be the first thing I’d notice about another woman, it’s a pretty iconic look. No thank you from me, I’ll pass on that one

Ac Haley: These trend videos are your best vids! ❤️

sadriski: I LOVE THAT OCTOPUS cut!!!

Suzanne Watts: Great video Paul x

Theresa Pettersson: Textured bob

Paul Watts HAIR: What are you thinking of having for 2022? Let me know... WE HIT 40K Competition winner announced Wednesday

Filippo Contatore: Great great video!! Very fresh take

sabina Marcus: Love your videos, but the music is to much competing with you

Ohhollyf: I usually wear a pixie but have grown it for a mixie

Adylaa R: That octopus cut is called hush cut in korea. Idk y but thts what they call it

cannoliknife: I still have no clue what internal layers are -_-

Azuka Rzuchastux: 2 Corinthians 5:1 “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

Maria_hargreeves: Have do you style a wolf cut?

ST MARK: Eww! What the hell are you wearing?! Also, the background music is a little too loud. It's a bit difficult to hear you.
