With so many hair trends out there, it's easier than ever to change things up, but new trends move once beloved styles to the backburner and soon they're headed toward extinction, as they say it's out with the old and in with the new here other trends we ditched In 2019, ombre hair was a trend. You may have never wanted to give up. It'S French for shadow, easy to maintain over time and according to hair giant matrix. The overall look of ombre hair color can change as your hair grows out, which many clients enjoy, but it seems all great hair trends must come to an end and ombre is quote definitely over, at least according to Chaz Dean, a renowned celebrity hairstylist and founder of Win, hair and body care, john Arago runway, hair, stylist and owner of boston-based john arago studios agrees. Saying people are starting to go for more natural-looking color, like a balayage with poly ash highlights the colors blend seamlessly into the hair without having bleached ends like ombre its overall, a more natural way to brighten the hair when it came to the rainbow or unicorn hair Trend those otherworldly colors were hard to resist, but 2019 saw the end of this mythical trend, at least on grown adult women, hair stylist, joey Ferlin, said bleaching, your hair and then dying in all shades of the rainbow is a phase many teen girls go through and That'S fine. The thing is this trend managed to shift its way up to people in their 20s, 40s and even 60s in recent years, and now people are starting to realize it's maybe better left to the teenyboppers. How would you like a hairstyle that looks like a rainbow helmet yeah, considering the style fades quickly and does a whole lot of damage? The upkeep on rainbow hair was far from magical Ferlin added. The trend towards punky colors has thankfully packed up its bags and headed back to the 90s, where it belongs. Unless you have short hair, the messy bun has likely become one of your favorite hairstyles. It'S one of those day to night looks that somehow works just as well at the gym as it does on a date. Unfortunately, this effortless hair trend has started to fall by the wayside. Even Megan Markel, the queen of the messy bun, seems to have retired her signature. Look celebrity hairstylist, Patrice Vincey, founder of Patrice fancy salon said women are quote. Moving to a more polished. Look just like the Duchess of Sussex. She said think Megan Markel's low bun, which sits on her neck for an effortless chic statement. Hairstylist Troy Alexandros of salon 64 offered. Another bun, like solution telling Express a tiny updo, is also a great way to hide fuzzy, edges and curls, which can appear after a hard busy day of royal affairs. Although bangs hit 2019 with a bang, they're fading out just as fast as they appeared, Johnny Rocco says, blunt bangs have officially been replaced by the new bang on the block she reports. Now we are seeing a softer fringe or wisp bang and even a micro bang. The thick blunt bang is not the trend anymore, shorter pieces and styles are much softer around the face. This is, after all, what many people are after, when opting for bangs in the first place, according to Hollie pistas, a hair stylist at chicago-based, Gordon salons, many people like how bangs frame their face and breakup their hairstyle, but for a lot of people it seems blood. Bangs just couldn't do the trick achieving platinum, blonde hair is quite literally a process. In fact, it can often be a double process spoken wheel, co-owner, hair stylist and color director, Christine Thompson explained to Bertie bleach or enlightener, is decolorizing the hair by breaking up the natural melanin in the hair, because the roots usually lighten more than the ends. Another round of bleach is used to get a single, cohesive, color, hair, stylist Elizabeth Heiser rode at Cutler salon explained to Teen Vogue. That bleach is hard on your hair. She cautioned removing color out of the hair, can be very damaging and often doesn't lift to light blonde tones without breaking. Also very fine textured hair can break easily with bleach applied, so also take your hair texture into consideration. Although the platinum hair trend was fun while it lasted, your tresses will be relieved to know that this trend is dying out. Stylist Johnny Rocco says the trend. Now is a less harsh, looking color it's more about the faded, pastels and golden tones, especially for blonds. According to L'Oreal, the ash hair trend is similar to platinum, hair but looks more natural and calls for darker roots. The company claims it's technically a cool-toned color, which means it tends to look more flattering on people with cool toned. Skin lighter complexions, with blue or green eyes, for example, but just as platinum, hair has become less popular, ruby hook. Hair stylist and salon manager at brown's hairdressers confirmed that quote. Real ash tones in the hair have calmed down considerably as 2019 barrels towards its end. Instead of opting for more of a silver hue hook said her clients are asking for more golden tones if you're looking to avoid ash tones Mitra Mir a hair, color expert at her shins said: you'll want to communicate that to your hairstylist. She told Cosmo. Ask your stylist for golds, coppers and peaches. These are all warmer tones. Take a picture of the shade you want, but if you're not sure a good colorist should be able to advise you on which hair colors will suit and which won't artificial gray. Hair was a massive trend in 2018, according to stylist Ruby hook, but by 2019, though hooks said its status was quote not so much. If you tried the silvery gray hair trend, you know that it was pretty annoying to maintain. That said, you may be happy to hear that it's on its way out explaining the process, Daniel savant, hair, stylist and owner of savant salon told phoenix new times that bleaching is just the first step in getting the desired color. Next, a bluing rinse is used to prevent the hair from looking yellow and add some variation to the gray after your hair is sufficiently colored. You need to avoid sulfate based shampoos and have additional dye at it every other week and visit the salon for a root. Touch-Up monthly, according to savant, most people ended up hating how it looked and went back to their former color. Within six weeks the bob may have been the most versatile hair that ever existed. The a-line Bob in particular has served us well for many years back in 2016, according to HuffPost. The look was certainly in at the time but fast forward to 2019, and this carefree cut has lost some steam. Yet not every iteration has hit the highway hair. Stylist faye norris of neighbourhood salon says: there's a lot of variations of the bob and the hottest on the market. Right now is a boyish lee soft, yet blunt bob with the length hitting mid neck, any version of the bob with the back being shorter than the front is pretty much over for 2019. There was a time when you could skip the heat and get the beach wave look by securing freshly washed hair into buns and going to sleep messy, undone, no, not much effort but secretly. It takes about 30 minutes waves, but this low-key hair trend might have been too good to last forever. Celeb hairstylist, patrice Vincey, says the style is now being given the glamorous Hollywood treatment. But it's not all bad news, as it turns out Beach. Waves may have actually been more time-consuming than their upgrade. Vincey said. The updated style is full of volume and borrows inspiration from a signature. Look you might find on Kate Middleton. She explained the direction of curling. This style needs to be one way. Only and often curling forward gives a face. A flattering look with polished, well-defined waves, Gabriela Goldring, hairstylist and co-founder of unison may blow-dry bar says that highlights at least the way we've always known them quote: no longer really exists. Those stripy defined highlights have since been replaced with techniques like volley aaj, and it's not hard to figure out why Goldring explained stiff styles have been booted out in favor of more flowery natural hair and balayage. Most certainly fits the bill. Another natural, looking style, dubbed dirty brunette, has also taken the place of traditional highlights, with the exception of the seemingly timeless and classic Hollywood wave look Goldring says very glam and over styled looks are out, as people are favoring a more undone lived-in look cool. I love on Co, Tran and Johnny Ramirez hairstylists and co-owners of the Ramirez Tran salon in Beverly. Hills have essentially perfected this trend and they have some tips for pulling off. The look Ramirez says both color and cut are equally important. Telling L we've had clients come in for color and then another hairdresser at a different salon will chop all the work off which defeats the purpose on has always been very respectful with the way he cuts. If he wants to do something a little more fun and edgy I'll, follow his lead and highlight pieces that will complement his layers to add depth in fashion blushes in when it comes to hair color, though the obsession with this hue has died down throughout 2018. Pink was everywhere, ruby hook, hair stylist and salon manager. At brown's hairdressers said we took a lot of bookings for summer vacations and festivals, i'm obsessed, but by 2019 pink was already out years ago. You may not have imagined that pink hair would have actually become common, but nevertheless that's definitely what happened. Midge Wilson, a psychology professor at DePaul University, told Teen Vogue in 2015. If society is accepting of pink hair right now, it makes us more apt to dye our hair pink. Therefore, perpetuating the cycle as cool as pink hair was it did, require a considerable amount of upkeep and thanks to all that extra work, we're not too sad to say goodbye if you've been relying on relaxers to straighten your hair. Cosmetologist amber ko says enough is enough? Not only did the hair trend die out in 2019, but Co called it quote. A huge nono for 20/20 warning devoted fans. Hair relaxers are horrible for your hair because they contain lye. They can damage your hair and scalp. If used incorrectly and even cause hair loss, this process leaves the hair weak, brittle and prone to breakage and honestly, don't we love our natural curls anyway, if you're, not thrilled with your curls as they are, Co recommends trying a keratin treatment as opposed to a relaxer. This process can help quote loosen your curl and make some bouncy according to the expert, although faiths had women ditching their stylists for barbers in the years past 2019 marked the beginning of the end for this trend, Jaime de Grazia award-winning, stylist and owner of Chicago based Salon, Logan parler, says quote: bald fades or skin fades have all but died out in 2017, back at the height of the hair trend. Here, a rite of Instagram's, the cut life reveals how women could get themselves. A less masculine fade, telling style, castor. Tell the barber you want soft lines and a cleaned up, look and not to give you harsh lines like a man. It'S really that simple. Despite being a simple and quick hairstyle, the fade has well all but faded away. Hair extensions are only getting more and more popular as time goes on, but some types of extensions are surpassing others. I have some really bad hair extensions. Amber ko revealed that the hair trend of braided tracks, aka, Sonnen extensions, are being done away with and for good reason. Francesca Fusco, a New York city-based dermatologist, who specializes in hair loss, explained to allure. Sonnen extensions are more damaging than glue in which in America are called individual keratin extensions. The cornrowing involved in the Sonnen process is stressful on the hair and the hair follicles there's more weight on the surface area with Sonnen extensions than individual keratin strands cow agrees that Sonnen tracks are indeed damaging and recommends an alternative type of extension. Saying beaded tracks are a new, healthier way to install those wefts of hair. They minimize stress and tension and can be removed with ease check out one of our newest videos right here, plus even more list videos about your favorite style trends are coming soon subscribe to our YouTube channel and hit the bell. The List: What hair trends do YOU want to see gone?

Mac Adele: so basically every hairstyle ever is out. shave your heads ladies

melanie chiriacescu: Who actually cares about what’s “in” and what’s not not when it comes to hair? If you like it, do it

Sammi Star: We need to ditch the ‘trends’ and do what you want with your hair

Andrés fin: Hell no If I want rainbow hair when I'm 60 I'll have rainbow hair thank you very much. Why don't we ditch telling other people how to live their lives in 2020.

Lee White: I’m not giving up my messy bun for anyone

Florecita: Undone, messy hair is not longer “in” but natural looking hair is?? Aren’t they both intrinsically related??!!

Noricoco: Considering Chaz's botched face, and the scandal of his products literally causing people to lose their hair, I don't think he's a credible source on what is stylish or "on trend" in any capacity.

ALG: so beach waves are out and more glam curls are in, but then two seconds later glam curls are out and natural (beachy) waves are in. yall need to get it together

Andrew_Does_Hair: CHAZ DEAN?! The owner of WEN, the company being sued for causing baldness? Ill take his opinion with a grain of salt. Ombré hair was a thing long before the “trend” started. Ive Been doing hair for 15 years and have seen all of these trends come and go and they will come back again, Mark my words. Trends are for the simple minded, people who think for themselves do what they want to do when they want to do it regardless of what the masses are doing.

Redeemed Recovery: I'm SO glad the comments are all "screw trends. Do what makes u feel good!" Idgaf when one stylist says a trend is out.

xmochi x: Messy bun will always be in! High or low bun!

Natasha Fournier: Lol, I've seen more rainbow hair this year than ever before. Definitely NOT a dead trend.

Ash: Confidence is always in. Do whatever to your hair that makes you feel confident. Rock that grey ombre bob!!!

Federico Huenchor: We should ditch every trend, style or anything that's harmful to us, like relaxers, too much bleaching or those sewn in extensions and so on.

Nicholas Rivera: As someone with thick, coarse, curly hair, the only type of extensions I can do is the sew in methods. I worn it for a year and my curls were thicker, longer and curlier because of it. So I disagree with the sew-in methods being on the outs!

Denisse A Diaz Guerrero: That guy chez dean had a company named “wen” they got sued a long time ago because some of their products made people’s hair fall out

Abigail Delaney: Changing your hairstyle to match trends doesn’t make sense considering everybody is going to look best with different hair styles anyway. Why make yourself look worse to “fit in”?

Oonagh72: This list contradicted itself constantly.

not thea: They said ombre is "over" but my hair is naturally ombre from darker blonde to lighter blonde. I don't understand why people can't just live their life and not worry about what's popular or trendy

N X: I don’t think I’ll ever give up rainbow hair. I’ve been doing it since high school and I’m now in my 30s lol though I don’t tend to do my whole head anymore, but only because upkeep is just too much.

Erica Quint: Ombré hair: Flattering, easy to maintain, popular Chaz Dean: No

Kelly Marie: In my 20s, I bleached the life out of my hair, and washed and blow dried and flat ironed it every day. It was so thin and brittle! In my late 30s, I stopped doing all of that. I now wash it every 3 to 4 days and I never dye it or apply heat to it. It’s now so long and shiny and healthy that I have to cut it frequently to avoid sitting on it! Ladies, leave your hair alone!

Vanessa Pyo: Nevvverrr! I will never retire my messy bun or beach waves! {Continues to wear the same long, one-length hairstyle that I’ve rocked for 12 years}

Es Em: It’s not even been a day and we already doing throw backs to 2019

n i k a f i t z g e r a l d: Micro bangs need to GO.

NovaLife: "Platinum blonde hair trend is dying out" - people since the 30s

Cuppy Cake: Embracing my naturally curly hair was the best thing I’ve ever done. I get it shaped twice a year and I learned how to care for it properly. Trends don’t affect me at all anymore.

clown: If everyone goes with the "trends", then everyone will look the same. You couldn't go 5 meters without seeing hip-length, golden blonde, wavy hair. That's boring! So thanks, but I'm okay with my pink hair and I'm not changing it for "trends."

Beauty Samantha: Just do what u like and enjoy who cares if it's trendy or not..

Mycah Salavaria: Youve been saying ombre is over for a couple of years now

MaggieOnline: Yeah the sewn in extensions are damaging for straight hair because to begin with cornrows aren't made to be used on straight hair

ida renee: Maybe these “trends” are dieing, but i Can promise you: people with curly hair Will still relax it, people Will still colour baleage (idk how its spelled Sorry), people Will still dye their hair platinum, Gray, ash, rainbow or whatever the F they want. People Will still do Beach waves. People Will still wear messy buns.

Johanna Carr: other than ombre, granny hair and chunky highlights (which havent been around since 2010) these are all timeless hairstyles that will always be around...wtf messy buns are out? beach waves? bangs????

Mel P: Looks like it's time to put away my 2018 -2019 wigs and break out my 2015-2016 wigs.

Leslie Roycroft: Beach waves are out-More glamorous curls are in...(take one breath)...very glam is out, more natural undone look is in. Not at all ambiguous or contradicting!

Bleh Says: My New Years resolution is no more hair color. I’ve been experimenting with this stuff since I was 11 now I’m 30 and this is now an old habit I want to kick for good. So as for the video I highly disagree with the what’s in and out topic. Not everyone wants to follow trends , almost just sounds like being a follower in general. Just do you .

Amethyst: Wasn't Wen part of that big lawsuit that caused people to LOSE their hair?

UDRĘKA 13: me: *gets a scene fringe with colored pin in highlights* update: now with quarantine it's also half red

Sonia Pfeiffer: I don't care what the trend is. I like my hair and I'm not changing it because of a trend.

Rich Asshole: That’s why I wore wigs for the rainbow different hair colors. It’s protecting you’re actual hair. I recommended this to my other race sisters. It’s why black women didn’t dye there actual hair color and wear wigs not because she doesn’t have long hair underneath. I recommend wigs for harsh dyes.

Hysteria F.: Black girls 2016-18: We are going to love our hair and stop using relaxers The List:... White hair stylist 2019: Stop using hair relaxers they harm your hair! The List: YASSS that trend is out. No relaxers for 2020!

Luvsghn: conclusion: just don’t touch your hair

Quinn Morgan: you will have to kill me before i give up my “unnatural” hair dye

Arielle: Honestly, y’all will have to take my relaxed bob from my cold, dead head.

Renee Caraway: I’m 50 and still have a very pale pink wavy bob. I get compliments on my hair every single day.

Citaah: Watching this while sporting a messy bun

Tech Unboxing Videos: I remember them all. All trends will always go and return again

don cameron: I love your hair style ideas lovely ladies!!❤️

Lordi Awa: Bleach hair died out? Me, laughing with snowwhite hair :D

Rich Perez: Too bad one of them wasn't the man bun.

Turtle Sama: If it suits u and feels like u it shouldn’t bloody matter if it’s not a fad anymore

Nafsi: Remember when you had hair cut/color according to your face shape and undertone not trend?

dwit: i never thought a voiceover about hair trends would be SO aggressive

Astrid: So you say the bob is going out of style but in your 2020 hair trend video it’s all about the bob being so amazing...

Donny7704 animal jam: I'm not ditching my messy bun sorry 2020 in sticking to 2019

Gimme The coffee: (Here’s the new 2020 trend) first step: stop watching this video - step two: do whatever hair color or style however you want ( confidence is the new beauty)

NKBJ: Cause I always change my entire look according to what one "famous" stylist I've never heard of says.... s/

Anna Peanut: I don't give a damn about it, my comfort and confidence is always in style

B.S. Bernasconi: I have blunt bangs and I love messy buns. What can I say...

Xanxer: I really don't believe trends change this quickly. Ten, fifteen years, sure. Magazines and stylists want you to change more frequently because they get more money. But year to year? Nah fam.

Esayem: If you're the kind of person who likes to follow trends, take notes. If not, keep doing you. Trends are changing and making comebacks all the time anyway.

Sakura ̊: I’ve always wanted to died my hair colorful but my mom never let me. So I’ll still do it in my 20’s idc I’ll always wanted to experience it.

Norah Gatesh: I have a problem with the one with the women have short hair * starts 11:06 * I mean look Who does this person think they are telling people what to do with their hair. I mean listen to this 11:31 like don't REALLY REALLY don't like when others are telling you a way that "f i t s b e t t e r " because of your gender. KaylaNoelle1: So what is left then?? This is so patronizing “leave funky colours to the teenyboppers” ... many teens are not allowed to experiment with their hair so they have to wait until their 20’s. Plus we have only had bond repairing products like Olaplex since 2014 colourful hair without damage is a new thing still!

ruby thomas: I prefer a light shade of golden blonde rather than whitish platinum blonde. It looks more natural and youthful.

don cameron: I love pretty curly hair styles very much or wavy curly hair styles too ❤️

YoYo’s World: Or just do what you want with your hair because it’s your hair?

Max Is the best: Bruh, if a girl has a bangs she is basically telling other girls that she is goin through smt It's never gonna die

Lauren Miller: none of these are actually “over” you all are just trying to get clout

don cameron: I love beautiful hairstyles very much in ladies and guys like me ❤️

Vara Lyn: Punky colors have gone back to the 90’s where they belong? Do you ever leave the house? Just because you say it’s over doesn’t mean it is
