Hey everyone welcome back to the channel. Thank you so much for being here today, we're going to be looking at doing an alternative cut to the wolf cut. So this is a sectioning pattern designed by jill berry. I'Ve tweaked it slightly just to be a little bit different, but we're going to be doing a course for designer head laces distributor for joyco and uh jill is doing the haircut wolf cut and i'm going to be doing the color. So jill sent me the sectioning pattern that i've got similar here. Um i've just changed up slightly for the video, so we're not doing exactly the same, but it's a little little twist on it very very similar, but uh yeah jill's looks unbelievable. I also vlog that day she'll be able to see everything that we get onto, but yeah we're doing a course. The request has been a wolf cut and to colour a wolf cut. The colour side of things is designed about around my barista artista, of course, where i take inspiration from a different industry, translate it into hair, and then we come up with a concept around that. So that's going to be really exciting. The industry that i'm going to be picking is a secret at the minute, but you'll see everything there is when it comes to it. So today i'm going to be cutting a wolf cut and we are then going to color it i'm going to color it on saturday night. You don't know what that is. I don't know what that is, but yeah you're gon na get a video to that me. Cutting a wolf cut and then you'll get a video of me coloring a wolf cup, and then you will see the whole thing that happened at the laces at a later date. So yeah, if you've got any questions surrounding the wolf cut. There'S plenty of videos that i've done so far on the wolf cup, but i'm also going to be coloring it i've done another color with the wolf cut as well that i've still got to edit and bring to you guys, but wolf cut seems to be big Right now, so why not do another? Let us know what you think in the comments down below if you're new hit the subscribe button, give the video a thumbs up and let's get into the video. So section pattern is like a bit of an arrow at the front. But then it's a big diamond section on that back piece there. So working from the high point of the head, i come to the parietal ridge as it curves off go back to just above the occipital bone, which is there and then i bring up. This is sort of on the on the pattern of the jill sent me and then a diagonal up to near in the front line. Probably an inch away from the from the hairline come back come down, so it's a bit like a yeah a bit like an arrow reversed arrow on the top. But what i'm thinking of doing is obviously the wolf cut is a shorter fringe. So i'm putting in a guide and i'm thinking of pivoting so end up with keeping a bit more length through here. I'Ve seen jill's jewels is a little bit shorter in here, but i'm gon na be bringing this uh version coloured a little bit differently, but just to give them two inspirations: they're gon na be coloring jill's cut. This is just gon na, be an idea for them to see different concepts and different uh wolf cuts and variations of color one on there. So, let's get to the haircut so first, i'm just going to do a a central parting, but i'm just going to go either side of it. Just to give me a bit of a starting point so get out of the way get out of the way, and that's just giving me that section straight down the head there. So what i'll do is i will take just a little bit more sensing. So jill's is really textured internally. I might just do a little bit longer, so they've got so they can see. If, because what happens? A lot, of course, is that people won't go as short as uh as we want them to they. Think too short. So i'll do a little bit of a longer variance. They can see a longer version, although the mannequin head isn't too long um. So what jill's done so, then, on the day we'll be coloring a shorter version and then we'll have a longer version, so they can see it. What it looks like for their clientele in the salon. So i'll start here and i will take it to i'll rest. My finger on the nose and the point of the nose and i'll just take it off there. So we've got our first guide there. I'M then going to bring this up to the ceiling and then out 45 degree from the head. I'M just going to put a 90 degree lining, so it's quite heavy, because wolf cuts are a little bit heavier so shags and bullets. Actually, i'm gon na go a bit shorter. There we go so there's my guide degree angle, so we get a bit more softness in there now there's my first section i'll clip out the way. So you can see that we're not interfering with that minute. So there's our our first guide sitting there and then i'm gon na that's gon na, be my start point so the pivot. So i'm gon na work through the head. So i'm gon na work from that piece which is done and then what pivoting is is. I will go there until we end up horizontal and from our starting point, which is there and then just draw a line through there 45 degrees. Elevating. You can already see that shape coming in there and what this will do is when we get horizontal to where we are working. So our guide is there and we went from there all the way around until we've come horizontal, and this just brings us in to this side nicely. So then, what i can do with that is blend this in still elevating on the guide. So we're still looking at that 45 degree angle through there and on our fingers. This is just giving us that really nice sweep through there. So let's give us a guide on the sides as well. So what we'll do again is we will use that as our guide and we'll just work in vertical sections through the side, but still elevating to our guide. You can see our guide. There still a 45 degree, 45 degree on the finger and that's just dropping through there and we're going to work this until we get just the back of the ear. And when we're elevating up like this, we're maintaining that length on the perimeter. And you can see that already that shape coming in last section we're working behind the ear, so we'll just get our guide a bit more, so looking really cool. So when it comes to the back. What i'm going to have is now is a stationary guide, so i'm going to bring everything up to that back of the ear, so we'll be working here and then up to then to the middle, and then this is where all this hair will then travel up To here, which will create that blend but maintain the length around there, you can see. We'Ve got a guide there, so this is going to elevate. There'S the guide up to us last section now we'll do the exactly the same on the other side. So back of the air layering going on in there and then we'll start on the top section. So i'm just moving on to this top section now and what i want to do is just draw a section through that middle, so just open that up now we could use that as a guide to start with that piece that we've already cut. But i want to go quite short with this bit, so i'm going to take half a cone, so i'm just going to start from there, so you can see it there spin it around and i'm going to go half a cone so to there i'm just going To cut that off, i'm just going to have this coming up to the top. So all this is is cut right up to the ceiling cut off square like that and that will fall through there and give loads of texture and height through here, because some of the wolf cut has there's quite a bit of density and height in this area. So what we're going to do is we're then just going to come over into this section, and i want it. I want to keep some length through this exterior, so i'm just going to elevate, i'm just going to be pulling it to this first section that we put in and then just cut off nice and square we can put in texture. After and again we just elevate to our guide: the hair is coming over, so you can see where it's traveling to that hair here, just traveling to that central point see that fine, because we're bringing it over elevating and over directing slightly towards us. We know we're going to be maintaining length on this exterior part and there's that so you can see that shortness in there it just gets gradually longer towards there. So that would pull this guy down that we put in at the beginning brush it over to there, and then we start elevating this this side towards the middle on our guide, make sure we pick it all up. We'Ve still got that sectioned out through there, so we know we're not picking up any of that. That'S over direct into there and elevating and then we'll just take this off and look. You can see all of that texture all through there. So now i'm going to start on this section this little these little pieces here. So what i'm going to do is i want to link that up with that fringe, so we're going to cut from short to long, so i'm just going to bring it up to the ceiling getting that short bit and cutting through there. You can see i'm just connecting that through, like so and again on this side. I'Ll show you from this way, so we want to connect that piece on the crown to the fringe. So, let's just take a bit of that back piece and then take a bit of that front piece and just angle, your fingers to me and then just work through this little section same as you did on the other side and just pushing the hair up. That middle part in and then connecting and there we go - that is today's wolf cup, so i'm just gon na get some products in there, so we're gon na go in with some joyco joy whip. So i'm just going to let it air dry. So i'm going to use a bit of zero heat as well from joycon, so now with the zero heat also, which is for fine to medium just a little bit scrunch. This in we've got the hold from the mousse from joy whip, and then this is just going to sort of de-frizz and help dry. It off.

cyberpunk: WOW WOW !!!! Now , THIS is the best shaped wolfcut yet!!! I am not a hairdresser and this is truly an amazing style and I would love to do this on myself....... Although, I'm not sure if I can pull off this technical cut myself... Is there an easier way to get the just the foundation of this style with the pigtail method? xx

Brigita: Hi Paul, love the video! This is a proper guide for sure. Before finding this video I tried to somewhat cut my hair like this without losing much length and short bangs - didn't work out that well. After seeing this video I will surely see the results that I have wanted for a while now. Also a small sidenote, a microphone you can clip to your shirt would elevate your sound quality!

Margaret McGuire: Love this cut/style! Best wash & go style ever.. Back in my day we called this cut a shag cut.. very popular in the 70's & 80's. Came in all Lengths .. it's blending multiple layers.

ElijahLindseyMusic: I am so in awe imagine how many people this cut could look amazing on, the yin and the yang, the length and the short lines at the same time, the round lines and the strength of showing off the bone structure, what I beautiful cut!! This cut really seems to do what a haircut is suppose to do, flatter the person!!

jpaleas: There are so many different transient techniques for the wolf cut out there...razor , ponytails, slide cutting, parallel point cutting etc. This by far is my favorite! Modern classic cutting with a slight disconnection. Thank you!

mmegraham: I've cut my two sons' short hair all their lives. I've gotten better over time, thanks to experience and haircut tutorial videos. :) My youngest son let his fade-cut hairstyle grow wayyy out during quarantine. Using this tutorial, I've just cut long hair into layers for the first time. Wow! It looks pretty great. Thank you.

Rebecca Olson: I absolutely LOVE how short the top layers are and how they blend with the rest of the hair!! How do I communicate that to a hairdresser? The last few times I have gone, I don’t feel like they believe me when I say HOW layered and shaggy I want the cut to be

T S: This is incredibly awesome and beautiful!!! Thanks you. It's a little advanced for me, but I'll definitely try it out one day. I just cut my hair a few days ago, so I need it to grow out a bit, but then I think I'll attempt this cut. Steady n slow, methodically follow your instructions, and Im sure I'll be okay. I always cut and dye my own hair, and I absolutely love doing it

Caravan Carolyn: I absolutely love this and will be taking this to my stylist. Thanks!

Kimberly Patton: The cut and exact look I have been searching for that is ME- and has been eluding me for as long as I can remember..and I'm 61! This is what I MUST have! I don't fuss with my hair much, don't like to,never have.Ive been a horticulturist and worked with plants my whole life, indoors and outside...I love the idea of just washing and scrunching it and then GO! Especially now that I'm older, and my long (mid back ) hair is well suited and thick ,and it is perfect for my head and face shape! I can't thank you enough! I don't have the nerve to cut myself ,but I WILL find someone to watch this video and do it for me! I remember years ago seeing Meg Ryan with a sort of shorter version of this cut and loving the look of it on her...think it may have been in ""City of Angels" with Nic Cage..but she always looked so wonderful and it seems the more tousled and messy it looks the better it looks! I am stoked, and do think my really thick wavy dishwater/golden/ash blonde natural hair will be just exactly suited! God bless you! It doesn't seem to be an overly complicated cut, although I'm no stylist ,but even I could follow you and the pattern/ cut logic ..you are a legend! Thank you! It is a flattering and feminine style and I can hardly wait,aI think I might leave a bit more length for my version !

Wardrobelion: I ❤️ it! I was always told this was a shag…no wonder the hairstylists never cut it right and looked more like a stupid mullet. I explained what I wanted but it felt like they were ruining my hair intentionally. Probably just bad stylists…there are a lot of them out there. I’ve done this cut before and it isn’t difficult, and I’m not a stylist, but I can’t cut my own hair because I get discombobulated in the mirror…I never knew there was a shortcut though. I always started from the front and cut and layered tediously piece by piece until it was all even. It could take me over an hour. I felt more like an artist on canvas without Bob Ross tips and tricks. Thank you again for a smarter not harder way. I wasn’t making my child a guinea pig to try any shortcuts on my own.

Mrs. Wharfield: Thank you, just did this on my 13 yr old, so cute!

mai567: Thank youuuuu so much for this video! Followed your technique and cut my hair myself. With a few adjustments in length to get what I wanted, this was perfect! Honestly, the hardest part is getting those sections nice and tidy. I'm really happy with how it came out. And your other video for the shorter version is awesome too. If I end up going even shorter, I'll be using your tips. Tha k you, thank you, thank you!! Best hair cutting video ever!

angela silcock: I've been asking for this kinda style for years to keep being told by my hairdressers I don't need layers..I so fking do ❤ this is how I've tried to explain it to them.. arghh

Wendy: I have long straight hair no layers barely and now this cut wants to make me go exactly like this !!! Beautiful amazing talented man, love this haircut

Mariam saghir: Hey!!! You did a short wolf cut around 4 weeks ago I guess, but it was still around neck length. What if I wanted my max length to be around the chin? (Kang sae byeok from "squid game" for reference) Should I simply just chop the bottom of till my chin after following the previous tutorial?

Наталья Рогожкина: Thanks a lot, I tried this cut today on my adult and brave daughter and it went great (I'm not a hairdresser). But it would be better if the hair on the model was dark on the white background or vice versa.

Izzy Allen: How cute! It reminded me of my emo days! I love iiiiiiit! I wish mine looked that great!

TheFarkhondeh: Sorry Paul , I forgot to mention it ,if you can Show us the illustration of this haircut. It would be so helpful. I thank you

Dee Meally: I LOVE IT I’m getting my hair like this

Godspeed: He did both side differently , watch his angle direction when cutting the sides in front of the ears you can see one side is shorter than the first other side cut and the shorter side lacks the layers like the other side has. then the worst mistake was one side he pulled all the hair from the far back of head forward toward the face and trimmed on the one side But He Did Not Use The Same style of cutting on the other side of the head!

Penny C: Nice hair cut! Is there a difference between a wolf cut and shag cut or is it the same thing?

Eva: Thank you, this is wonderful! I look for three days your Video Wolfcut in five minutes! This is very very simpel to do without hairdresser (this not) I do this and my thin middlelong hair look very better as from hairdresser!! I am very very happy and embrace you from Germany ‍♀️

Amal London: I love it, so gorgeous

koki !!: Hello! I wanted to ask a question, is this cut suitable for a round or round face? Thanks for this video

Yenifer Aguilera: Eso, que pulido! Muchas gracias!! Me lo voy a hacer y espero poderlo manejar

livnanno: Yo viendo este vídeos, después que me corté bien feo queriendo uno así >.<

Holly Gamble: You sir, absolutely nailed it

Vitoria Oliveira: I would LOVE to get this haircut, but I have really thin hair with no volume or quantity. Would this look good on me?

Samantha Granados: Question! Does anyone know if people with layers can get this cut? I’ve been wanting this haircut for forever but my hair is in layers :(!

cat: Thanks this really helped me!

Suzie Reed: The best version I have seen, love it

sillydreamer64: I wish I would see this done with longer hair.

magda soltysiak: Amazing hair cut. But it is very difficult to see the sections at the beginning.

Pia Sammut: Great cut, look forward to the colour

PJ: I like this newer version even better .... wish I'd waited! lol But hey, it's hair. It grows back.

Chris G.: Love it! Good job!!!

Mareile M.: Very nice. It looks great.

Emma Kelly: Wow!! This is divine

Yolk: i like how i thought i could do this

Suzanne Watts: Fab cut again Paul. Love it. Xx

By: All the best at work, at the explanation of the work. I had this hairstyle 10 years ago when a hairdresser sucked me, who retired, and since then no hairdresser has ever been able to suck me.

Faith Clark: On the fringe area are you using a traveling guide or a stationary guide?

Tracy Wilson: Ok i really like that. Won’t do it, because i keep my hair braided a lot to keep it out of my face and out of my way. I guess if I didn’t need to keep it out of my face most of the time I’d probably do it. Just longer layers. A few times I’ve had someone say well just cut it short, then you won’t have to worry about it. I look absolutely dreadful with short hair. Wrong face shape. And i play with my hair too when I’m driving. It’s soothing. I know, I’m weird.

Laurie Reynolds: Ohhhh this the best of all I’ve seen.... well done!

Toni,s hair styles: Excellent as always Paul

Erica Angel: ❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍❤️‍ This hair style is on fire ❤️‍I haven’t colored (it’s all my natural – virgin hair) really cut my hair in years over 12 years (besides the slit ends) so it’s past my Is it best to cut your hair before you color it? I haven’t washed my hair in 3 days and tomorrow is my hair washing day? Should wash my hair first and then go cut than finally color? Or what order do you suggest?? Thanks ☺️

Libia castaño: Usted es excelente en explicar, pero la cámara está muy retirada, la visibilidad y su posición, no permiten apreciar el corte. Mil Gracias!

Audrey Dempster: Curiosity what happens to the fake heads once the cuts have been done ‍♀️

TheFarkhondeh: Your manikin 's hair is so blond ,that I have such a hard time to see , Your sectioning . I wish the manikin hair was a few level darker. By the way the hair cut is a very nice hair cut. Thank you

Annette L.: Amazing, how can i Cut this by myself???

Sow a Seed: You did a great job, I'm just not a fan of this trend.

Yes: Wow Thank You ❤️

Sandy Scuba: This is really good.. ❤️

Mystic Heather: In the fringe, are you overdirecting to the previous slice/guide? Ok never mind, now that you’ve turned the mannequin so we can see it I can see what you’re doing.

amithaba Moralf: Me encantó

Billy’s Fat Mom: I can never do the back of my hair… it looks flat and different?

Darlene Sheppard: I have bin trying to find a Hairdresser for years that knows this shag cut ✂️ wolf cut...it never turns out the way I want it to look sadly....its only half as good as your cut ✂️ then I have to try and get it right....inexperienced Hairdressers....they never tell you that they never did that cut....they just hope it turns out! Grrrrrrr! so frustrating to find a Hairdresser....I usually go with with someone from that Era....yet they don't get it right uggghhhh....you're absolutely amazing

awanoballz: very nice tutorial

Maria Luz Torrez: wow Paul you are the best at cutting hair

M: love it!!!

busra aa: how am i suppose to do this to my own hair

ana maria orellana vera: hi i love that haircut. colo is that haircut called?

Will Brown: I It!

nicky chen: Always nice hair cut

Azalea Soriano: is this good with straight hair?

Assist Customer: Wolf cut works here on the Rez!
