So, generally, I think that there is sort of an assumption that goes along with vintage hairstyles that they take a very long time and more often than not. That is not the case, so I wanted to show you guys some really quick, vintage hairstyles that you can do without curling your hair, because, as the wise, outdated meme said ain't, nobody got time for that. So these are some of my go-to hairstyles that I do when my hair hasn't been girls, and I am running out the door and just need to do something cute, really quick. A lot of these do help when it is on dirtier hair hair. That has not been freshly washed, maybe day two or day three hair. It helps a lot when you are trying to get volume and your hair isn't too smooth without further ado. Let'S get into the hairstyles. I'Ve got ta ring that every hello be great, oh hell, the phone for a half an hour and talked to. He won't even stop to hear a word. Thomas, Oh darlin, say assume, you will love. You am anthropoid reply, News! Bowie Kuhne get off the line. The number wrong and feel loud in the war don't weigh again and cried Oh, and that is it. I hope that this was at least a little bit helpful for you guys. I just think it's good to know that you don't need to curl your hair to have a vintage style cuz. I know a lot of hair types, don't really work with curling methods. Hopefully you can try one or two of these out and if you do make sure you tag me on social media cuz, I would love to see anyways. I love you all whether you're new or old, to this channel, and I will see you in the next video bye e. We were trying to teach him how to howl this morning and did not go very well speak. Oh no! No! It'S the worst buttons in the whole entire world. I mean seriously ready, look at these buttons. They look like one got, ta, be honest with you: they work by the world poops. What should we do for the buttons? Oh, I know. Let'S do know why oops, No! So I think this. I hope that these were no skating bad. You do buddy bday, oh, I have could be a dream.

Karolina Żebrowska: ok how the hell do you just twist the hair and it goes like *POP!* Judy Garland! *POP!* Emma Watson! when I twist it one side looks mediocre and the other looks like Severus Snape going drag for the first time

Marina Anastasia: If you need to reference back to certain styles! 1940's Ponytail 1:04 1950's Ponytail 1:56 Gibson Tuck 3:09 Milkmaid Braids 4:18 1940's Turban 5:31

Whitney Sews: Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for this video! I'm horrible at doing my hair and have straighter than straight hair.

Mercedes Quintana: the contrast between the vintage music and the memes is amazing

Rachel Maksy: Hi my loveeeees! So pardon my really dry scalp and horrible dye job, winter has not been kind to my skin and also I'm horrible at dying my own hair. I hope you guys enjoy this regardless! (Also I know my bobby pins are really visible, and you can totally try to hide them better than I did, I just don't really care to )

CillyKarma: Oh my this is so helpful ! The "Gibson tuck" is so easy and cleverly done ahah it looks like you put a lot of time in it when really it didn't ! Well done girl

Coal _Inks: Any hair tutorial: uses Bobby pins My hair: how about we don’t let that happen

That's So Ari: I love the 1950s ponytail!! The front curl is sooo pretty

Sam Kimchuk: This video is perfect for someone like me who only really uses an overnight wet set and sometimes doesn't feel like sleeping on those plastic frames. Maybe you could do a few styles with a vintage hat as well?

Bec: This is so great thank you! My hair is dead straight and won’t keep a curl for more than an hour if you have any ideas for shorter hair/bob length that would be awesome!

Jessica Cowell: Every year my church has a 1890s vintage baseball game. This year I used your Gibson girl video to do my hair, which is how i found your channel. I always have a lot fun dressing up and I think your channel is wonderful.

Lavenia Hewes: ahh I so wish i had straight hair like you!!! My hair is thick and curly and Afro textured and I so wish i could do such quick hairstyles... I think many black women of the pin up era had straightened their hair in some way and my hair doesn't agree with straightness lol

The greatest Mels: Ok a bit random but: I just discovered your channel and I absolutely LOVE it! I love your humor and I am really inspired by your style! I am really thinking about trying out more vintage stuff! I just love how it looks Anyways, really happy to have found you!

KobayashiMaru89: Thank you so much for this!! I've had trouble committing to the vintage curls, so these options are so useful. I loved your milkmaid braids tutorial from before, I'll definitely be adding these others to my arsenal! ^_^

Caitlin Alaine: I loved learning the headscarf part at the end!! I’ve seen pictures of my Grandma and Great Grandma from the ‘40s and 50s wearing this to protect their hair from dirt and whatnot when they worked on the family farm and they looked SO lovely!! My Grandma just turned 90 this year❤️

Rebekah Martin: When the bows were coming out of your turban, it was like a silent film. LOL. I definitely need to try these. I'm going to a wedding next month, and that Gibson tuck might be the perfect easy hairstyle. Now to find flowery combs...

Lilia Doliny: PLEASE MORE OF THESE it’s so hard for me to find flattering hairstyles

Kristin Schneider: I love the ideas so much! Thank you for the tutorials! Your videos are always so fun and informative. Keep up the amazing work!

Planet: I just live for the bloopers and the memes at the end of your videos!!! They always make me laugh!

Cami T: Thank you for this video! The Gibson tuck has become one of my go-tos for when I want something casual but nice. I actually used it for my graduation photos!

kudzuqueen3: Thank you so much for this video! My hair refuses to curl and I have been looking for quick pinup hairstyles for straight hair. Yours are the best I have found!

TheKikimouse: Thank you so much for this video! I always struggle with second and third day hair, because mine is naturally very thick and frizzy. So while it holds curl, the frizz is definitely a major problem.

Rosa Heininen: This inspires me so much, I love how nice and easy they all look. Thank you! I gotta try them as soon as my hair is long enough, just got it cut into a short bob today because I had a horrible mullet from growing out a pixie cut...

Ashley underwood: Every picture of my great great grandma she had those milk maid braids Thank you for the great tutorial

Kasey Bruno: Yes! I appreciate this so much! My hair is ridiculously long and I haven't had the time/funds to get and use foam rollers to see if I can pull it off so these are RIDICULOUSLY helpful!! ❤️❤️❤️

Макошь: Can't wait for even more hairstyles video! They are soooo useful <3 Love you and your videos ♥

Jessica Brissette: I love this! I'm starting new job that will allow me to bring out my (neglected) vintage wardrobe, but I have crazy thick wavy hair, I could definitely see myself doing these in the morning!

Jasmine Cook: Love these hairstyles! I have long hair and I like to wear the milkmaid braids a lot. The way I do mine is to do the braids and then cross them around at the back of my head. Then I bring them to the top. Make sure you pin the braids in place by putting the pin in the opposite direction that the braid is going.

breakinthemix: I love your editing on your videos and the tips you give! Despite having started dressing in a 50s style part time a couple years ago, I thought last year it would be a good idea to cut my hair into a sort of wide Mohawk and am at a loss for what to do with it and my next steps hair wise. You make me want to grow it out again even though I'll look like a crazy person for a while.

Mary McAndrew: Thanks for the inspiration for my long hair! I love your sense of humor with your editing, it's great! I can't wait to try some of these, but the milkmaid one, I think it looks fab on you, on me it'll look stupid. Oh yeah, it will definitely because my hair is colored from brown henna but I'm letting it all go natural greys, so it looks weird when I put my hair up against the grey part now! haha.

It's Bella Babe: thank you for this video! so great to have new options for vintage styles! In my vintage outfit video I just posted I used the milkmaid hairstyle inspired by the one in this video!

Y Rena: Thank you so much for this!! I have the same hair texture as you and I'm always struggling to do a quick hairstyle that looks decent. This is a life saver

Loor: Thank you for this wonderful and lovely video! I’ve always wanted to wear bows, but always thought they looked childish. They don’t look childish with vintage hairstyles!

Priya x: This is so helpful! Thank you so much! I'm just getting into vintage stuff and all the other videos I could find had really difficult or extravagant hairstyles! I will be wearing these all the time! Thanks you!

Adelie Lussier: Juste tried the Gibson Tuck for the first time and it looks glorious ! Thanks for the tutorial, you just made my holiday party season so much easier!

Shannon Traynor: Loved this . These type of hair styles are so helpful for those days when you don't have curls . I am also a great wearer if hats for my very bad hair days . My hats are a life saver for me on those days . I love the scarf idea too . I find that always gives a vintage vibe , and you can also hide curlers under them . Thanks a lot for this video . These cute styles will be a great help . Greetings from The Canadian Maritimes :) <3

Han K: You’re like the big sister I always wanted :) I loved all of these styles! Can’t wait until my hair grows out a bit, so I can try them! Thanks for the great video!!! <3

Janis I: I spent LITERAL years of my life with my hair in various milkmaid braid styles, but my hair was so thin at the time that it looked like I was wearing a hair-coloured cap. Ah, well, life. I love your tutorials, humour, and dog!

Tia Brewer: i work as a hostess at at 50s diner so i’m going to use thesseeeee

Angela Librizzi: Yes this was so helpful!!! I've been in a rut in terms of hair styles lately. I've been so lazy and have only been opting for the high bun but the first three are definitely doable for my hair length at the moment. I'm definitely going to give these a try! Thank you!

Erica Walstad: I absolutely love watching your videos Rachel, and damn I get so excited when I see you come out with another one

-: How could I live without such beautiful hairstyles before !! <3

Lindsay P: I LOVE the look of the Gibson tuck, but couldn't figure out how to do it! You made it look so much simpler than other tutorials! I'm definitely going to have to try it out :)

mastersadvocate: I loved all of these hairdos! My ultra fave is when you did the 1950s pony tail, and the swooping curl in your bangs! My bangs are getting too long, so I think I'll try that swooping curl thingy!! ~Janet in Canada

Gonzalez Garcia Alisson Luna: Hermosos peinados. Me encanta el estilo retro❤

Sofie Stensby: I am seriously in love with all of your videos! You inspire me to change my whole wardrobe vintage. What's holding me back, I guess, is of course money, since I'm a student nurse, and the thought of how people will view me. But this anxiety is definitely all in my head, and I shouldn't really care what other people think of me anyway if I love what I'm doing! And about the expenses of vintage clothing - it doesn't have to cost a fortune. Thrift stores and sales are my best friend. I hope I can save up some money. Anybody got any advice on how I can join the fantastic world of vintage-styled clothing? Thank you!

Nine: Great tutorial! I do think dry shampoo would be a good addition to help the appearance of the hair. Straight hair looks so greasy day two but it also helps with volume and texture to hold a bit easier.

Elissa Jo Roberts: Loved, loved, loved it!!! Soooo helpful! I completely f’ed up my own turban the other day and was awash in sadness. I feel emboldened to try it again this week! Thanks, lady. ❤️❤️❤️ P.S. Frodo is #doggogoals

Rae Smith: I was just about to do karaoke. You're literally the only person that can stop me from doing karaoke willingly. I love your videos so much. Plus, Frodo's dancing at the end is so cute!

Noir Belle: Thank you sooo much for sharing! I’m a pin up mommy always in a hurry; forever searching for quick vintage hairstyles. As you say - ‘Ain’t nobody got time fo’ dat!’ You’ve really given me lots of brilliant ideas. Can’t wait to have fun experiment. Hoorah !

SteamLance: I love the 40s and 50s hairstyles! It makes you look almost like a 1940s/50s Amy Pond!

Hob Knob Creations: So cute!! I loved the Gibson one, and I also liked the milkmaid braids more than I thought I would! I'm excited to give them a try

v q: All of these hairstyles are so so cute and low matinence! I have adhd, so following directions is not my strong suit, but following a short set of instructions sounds so much easier than a long long vintage hair tutorial.

Yashmeeta Bundhoo: Amazingly simple! Thank you ❤

Korinne Guthrie: The 40's turban is how I wear my hair to bed. I either braid or make four buns and cover with a scarf.

Rylee Morrow: The 1940s ponytail was exactly what I needed!!! My hair won't hold a curl or do a barrel roll for the life of me and is too long for updos!!! Thnx so much!!!

Sabah: Your face when you realised the tag was out all that time

Angel Grace: Rachel, thank you so much!!! I always wondered how that 1940's hairstyle was achieved! I really like the side twists! I'm also in love with your lipstick shade! What's it called? Where can I get it?

VeganVintageGeek: Cool! I'm always on the look out for easy vibtage quick hairstyles, I am so going to try this. I have'nt curled my hair in about 3 years and on my thin wavy hair I'm able to do vintage 1940s-1950s hair styles. My go to is a side part, I apply some layrite super shine pomade, smells like bandages but works great. I then grab some hair on the side of my head. Just enough so my ear is showing, comb it straight and up with a fine tooth comb. I take the hair in my fingers and twist it and push it forward to get that volume, and pin in place with bobby pins. The same on the other side this will make a side pomp, and pin in place. I like to prep my hair on wash day, once its air dried but damp. I use a little bit of Layrite super shine pomade on these sections of my hair and style as stated above. And since I live in a very windy environment I also stray these sections of my hair with my favorite hair spray, big sexy hair Stay & Play hair spray. And I only wash my hair twice a week. To restyle I sleep with my hair still styled from the day before, and in the morning I re-comb my hair. And I use a shower cap too, on the days I do not wash my hair. I take the pins out and lightly spray my hair with water on the sides of my hair, comb through and restyle using the twist and push method just like I stated above and I bobby pin every thing back in place. I check my hair to make sure everything is smooth before adding hair spray. This style can also be put in a ponytail too. I first fix up the front of the hair then add the ponytail to the back. There is also one where I parted my hair down the middle and took a section of hair enough so the ears show. Comb this up with a fine tooth comb. And pretty much do the same as the other hair styles, twist and push forward to create volume. And comb together and smooth out pieces that separate before spraying with hair spray.

Franny Grace: I have short curly hair but I love your tutorials! The 1940's turban is how I remember my Mom wearing her hair when I was growing up. She always had it in pincurls underneath the turban (she used a CLEAN diaper for her turban) but I never saw her without the turban until I was in my late teens. She said she wore her hair like that when she worked at Boeing building planes during WWII.

Yvette Jones: Omg, I am so going to try these this week! I didn't even know it was called a Gibson Tuck and I've been trying to figure out how to do that for ages! Thanks bunches

Maria Victoria Salita: I love the hairstyles and I totally love the vintage music used. I felt like I time travelled to the first half of the 20th century. I also love the turban- it's so Rosie The Riveter or Lucille Ball!

Free Hugs: love all of them, pretty and so simple to make

Abi B: I’m going to do the milk maid braids for school tomorrow I’m excited! A style that’s vintage and actually works on my semi curly mostly wavy hair that’s super thick and not long enough to do intricate styles with!

Bailey Robertson: This is the video I needed so badly! Thank you! Gorgeous!

Anne Girl: This is so darn helpful! One of my goals this year was to learn new hairstyles. Thank you!!!

floroey: Thank you so much!! Those are just what I needed. Cute but not too complicated, and no sleeping in rollers and pins required. :D

Gentle Gypsy ASMR: I love this because I don't want to curl my hair all the time, but I want to do something different. Thank you!

Jenna Curlee: Aaah thank you for this! I’ve been lazy lately, and I just don’t feel like putting rollers in. Lovely as always!

Daniela Garcés: I love it! Best tutorial ever

Kay Cwtch Mahoney: Love this tutorial I could follow it & think I may have spotted another hair colour to try once I get fed up with my current blonde hair! Thanks for the inspiration

Alexandria Hendricks: Thank you! Those are awesome and easy to do

Ol Ga: You are a treasure❤ Thank you for this! All the styles are really cute and simple. And my hair just refuses to stay curly no matter what i do.

Rebecca Robinson: Oh Rachel these are so sweet I love the Gibson tuck with the flowers! Your one of the few vintage girls I've seen with my hair length so I'm glad of that but I'm still going through a massive post partum shed even though my baby is 15 months old so my hair is very very thin :( but I'm gonna attempt these anyway because they are so cute!

Cher: I love your style. I'm in love with vintage looks

Daniela Bernardes: I watched this some 2 days ago and i'm back to say that you saved my lifed exactly 2 times since then. I was getting restless with my growing hair (i've been a short hair girl for a long while now) and I didn't know what to do with it until 2 days ago... So, thanks! A lot! I loved that they were really easy to do, even I, that have no practice dealing with hair could do it! Also, love the bloopers at the end!

Mafalda Viana: Me: Wow! Maybe now I can get me some cool hairstyles! Me, a few seconds later: * realizes I own a whopping total of one (1) broken bobby pin *

P Hamm: Love, love, love this video. I learned the 50’s hairstyle is the one I want for my 50’s Square Dance theme coming up. Thank u!

Mary mmm: My hair has been so difficult to curl lately and I dunno what's happening :( so the milkmaid braids are like a go-to look for me haha

Willy McStorm: My hair is still way to short for most of these! But once it grows out again, I’ll certainly be using these!

Helena Roßmy: That feeling when you try a new hairstyle and it works and you just feel so cute. ❤ thanks!

Charlie Kristen: i just shaved my head therefore i have no hair but i watched this whole thing

Angela Burke: I really loved this video! A lot of easy versions of hair styles that I hadn't seen before. Very helpful for my stick straight hair!!

Léanne VanTyghem LeRoux: You are at least as awkward as I am and I love it. Love your silly faces, your memes, and you're able to still make cute videos teaching us stuff. The editing is on point ! Thank you so much for your great work ! Love you ♥️

Lesley Bailey: Love the music!....& you made it look so simple.... I'll tie myself up in a knot behind my head!!

cyrodilicbrandy: I put this on expected to get annoyed but I managed the Gibson tuck!! I can’t believe it, I’m so proud of it. Thanks so much! I can barely put my hair up in a ponytail most days thank you!

Kezziah Clark: YESSS I can't tell you how much I needed this!!! My hair doesn't hold a curl to save its life but I've been dying to do some vintage styles!!

Caroline Lapointe: Such a great video Rachel! I feel very inspired to do my hair now. (and your video defenitly had a spring feel about it, I can't wait for spring this year.) Your hair looks so much like mine, straight and slightly wavy, which personally feel like it looks undone most of the time. So, I need to step up my hair game, especially since I have to tie my hair at work. Though most days I wake up at 5am, which explain why I end up with only a ponytail. ehehe.

Arikea: When you do the milkmaid braids, try braiding them upwards to avoid those weird hair flaps you sometimes get when you turn the braid upwards. Much less pinning required that way! :D

Valeri Oliva: You are just so damn pretty

Matthew Perez: I loved how simple it was. Perfect!

Kristen Krueger: This is great!! Really breaks up the curl everyday rountine

Bianca Militar: This is so helpful. Thank you so much!

Inês Oliveira: I could never find hairstyles that would work with my type of hair and length until now!!!. Thank you so much for this video, <3 I have already tried the braids and I love ii! Please please make more!!!

Clarissa Lee: Don't forget the ever handy snood! I love throwing my hair in a snood when its dirty or unruly and just leaving my bettie bangs out. As always lovely video! And the bloopers were fantastic!
