Video Details: Brandi refreshes her client's hair for the Fall Season with a root touchup, highlights, trim and silk press!

Uh, hey y'all and welcome back to brainy beauty tv. So today we're going to be doing, of course, some more color, except for today. Um the model is a little bit different because we're going to be enhancing um, something that we will that i have already done. Um, it's i'm actually performing this service on my sister, slash friend, slash one of my favorite people on the planet. Her name is c and she's, also a bomb nail, tech, y'all and, of course she does my nails. So i'm going to post her information below and when i tell you you won't be disappointed. You just won't so i'ma leave that at that and i'll, let you go view her work on your own, but anyways today we're going to be touching up her color that we did and we're also going to add, highlights um and also deepen her color as well. So we're going to kind of going to have um some contrast, but we're also going to keep the harmony in it as well. So i'm really excited because i've been trying to get her to get color for a while, and she said you can do whatever you want to do. I said stay less say less, that's all i need to know so. I'M excited and um. I can't wait for y'all to see the end of this transformation, because i kind of shocked myself just a little bit, but it turned out really good. So now, what i'm doing is i sectioned off the part that i really want to serve as her um as the dimension, because, where you place, your lows are just as important as where you place your highs. So the color that we did before color tends to fade sometimes, but in addition to that, even if you are doing a fresh, permanent color, what i do to deepen it sometimes is just go over it with a gloss or glaze, which is technically the same thing And you can use like a demi or semi-permanent color and i use that as an overlay and it makes the color that much richer. So that's what i'm doing now and the top is still going to have dimension in it. But i'm going to take this color that i'm putting on the bottom and also incorporate a few strands of that on top as well, so that color that i put on the back of her head. I'M now taking that and i'm applying it to a few sections. In her crown, and so the color that faded, even though it faded slightly or whatever it's still a beautiful color, and it's still going to add a nice shade to the color palette that we're creating so those three tones together, the highlights that i'm doing that faded. Color and also the color that i'm deepening as well it's going to create such a beautiful, harmonious blend and yeah. That'S pretty much all that, i'm doing now it looks it may look complicated and whatnot, but y'all. I promise you it's really not. The key with color is placement placement, placement placement and also understanding color theory. If you understand color theory - and you understand where to place various colors, you can create anything and it's so fun like. That'S really why i do it like i'm a colorist to my core, because i mean the creativity that you can just explore and working with different shades and whatnot and exploring different colors and different colors inside of different colors. It'S really interesting and it's even though it's a lot of science to it. It'S a lot of mystery and fun as well. So you know that's something that i just like to share. So, of course, i already have shampooed and conditioned seized hair and now i'm a firm believer of heat protectants before blow dry and that's especially on color treated hair or any chemically treated hair really because um use. I spend more time using my blow dryer than i do my flat iron, like you, have to get that hair as straight as you possibly can with the blow dry in order to have a successful silk purse. So i use my detanglers and leave-in conditioners, and i also use my thermal protectant as well, and these are both by the affirm, moisture right line and they are phenomenal. I'Ve been using them for years. So that's my choice. You can use whatever you want, but these work really really good and i always see a nice healthy, shine and luster in my client's hair. So i had a client ask me about um if it were possible to have healthy hair while also having color. So i just really wanted to uh answer that question, because i hear it a lot, so i figure most people probably probably do want to know the answer to that and the answer is yes, it's totally possible, however, where i think people get confused is they think Of change with unhealthy, and even though your hair will and can sometimes change when you do different things to it, i.e, hair, color, pressing relaxers. Anything in between that, whatever you do to your hair, will cause some kind of change where people go wrong, is over indulging in those changes and not having any kind of balance, so people that still press their hair weekly on 450 over time, you're gon na lose Your curl pattern, that's what that's just what it is, and especially if you're, starting with a looser curl pattern and for people who should say, for instance, wear their hair in a ponytail. If you continuously wear your hair in a ponytail in the same spot, your hair is going to eventually start to thin there. So the key with color and everything else that you can do to your hair is balance and understanding how frequent or how often to do something. So, that's why i always tell people, even if you're not constantly going to the hair salon, it is good to visit the hair salon or seek a professional, because even though we don't know everything we did go to school, so we do know something guys. You know you give us a little bit of credit. We know a little bit, so it's really good to have your hair assessed regularly and i have clients. You know that i don't see all the time some clients that i have. I see annually some i see every three months, but i promise you. You will never be able to tell the difference, because i know my clients and they also know to bring certain questions to me, so i can help them with their home care regimens, which is essentially going to keep your hair healthy. You know you go to the salon for your visits for things that you can't do, but the real maintenance takes place at home. So just keep that in mind - and you know you don't have to be afraid of changing your hair and things like that. Change is good, but also keep in mind that balance is also needed as well so y'all see his hair is curling like butter, like i'm, really having to put like minimal effort into curling, her hair and the secret to that y'all is getting your hair cut. When i promise you, that's the only reason why her hair is curling like this and why that color is is just laying like this is because we cut it, and i always tell you know, clients if you booking um, if you're booking for color, you need to Also book for a trim or a haircut because color getting your hair colored without cutting or trimming, it is like the dead equivalent to coloring outside the lines like i don't know, if you ever seen a scribble scrabble paper and you can see the intention was maybe There to color inside the lines, but it just didn't quite work out. So therefore you really can't really tell what the point what the point is of the picture. Well, it's the same thing with coloring hair. Without a haircut you know it's like you build the house, and then you paint it, so the haircut is what gives the shape and most of the time, what i normally do is i cut my client's hair first and then i color it like i color my Cuts, i don't really cut the color. I color my cuts, because that is what's going to bring the lines and the shapes out and whatnot. You know that that's what's going to provide the structure, so you know where to color. So that's just something to think about and when i say cut that doesn't always mean taking off. You know inches of hair just cleaning up. What'S already, there can help so much because, as you can see, i really didn't even take much off the seeds hair at all, like i trimmed the absolute bare minimum, but the color looks completely different than when i just initially pressed it out. So when you get your hair colored, you know helpful hint get it cut as well you're going to see a big difference so now, for my favorite part, the takedown, it's just something about taking that rap off. That just does something to my spirit y'all. I just can't it's like literally, like a christmas gift, probably want to see okay. What did i do for me? It'S kind of like that, but anyways her hair came out so good um. I mean i i knew you know when i say this with all humility that it would come out good, but it really came out really good to me. I really really love her hair and i also love how we kind of kept that that contrast in it, but it really still does have a really significant blend like you can still tell and see the various tones in her hair. So it came out so beautiful. Her hair is so healthy and y'all. Remember that color is your friend. You know, color is on our side. You know we live in color, so you know liven up your hair a little bit. You know if you got a haircut, go to your stylist or someone who specializes in color and asks for them to work a miracle and bring a little magic to your head and make you feel better. So i'll see y'all in my next video. Thank you for watching as usual and i'll see you next time you
