Navy Hair For Black Women| Bootcamp & Fleet

Don't know how to wear your hair for bootcamp? Confused on what to do with your hair now that you're in the fleet? Tune into this video to find out what is OK and what is not Ok!

This is really targeted for women of color, but obviously any hairstyle can really work with anyone. Hi guys welcome back to the channel. My name is lizzy for those of you who do not know in today's video we'll be discussing navy hair regulations, what it is, what is susceptible for a boot camp and what is acceptable for the fleet, so, let's get into it so you're going to boot camp. I suggest doing basic hair cells, nothing to make you stand out, so i know someone had commented accent if cornrows was going to be okay. Yes, cornrows is completely okay. By the way, this is really targeted for women of color, but obviously any hairstyle can really work with anyone. So anyone can watch this video and take from it, but cornrows works a hundred percent to some regular straight back braids or do even if you get braids like micros or twist anything but make sure when you get it make sure it's. When you get braids, say you get, the individual braids make sure they're not too big, but they're uh, not too small, because you don't want to get small ones and then it becomes too many. And now it's hard to do a neat button. So just kind of let's play around with the size until it's a good fit to be able to get into a bun, because you're going to have to do your hair very quickly in boot camp. So that's why i suggest cornrows or if you're like me, um, maybe some type of sew-in. I know you're in boot camp for two months, but a sew-in might work depending on how fast your hair grows and how well you can um upkeep it like the maintenance or just your natural hairstyle, like your natural hair. So when i went into boot camp i had my natural hair every day i sleeped it back into a bun and just kept it moving. I didn't want to deal with. You know taking more time to do my hair because it's hanging down or whatnot i didn't want to have to deal with that. I wanted to be able to be quick with it. So those are my suggestions for boot camp basic as basically as possible, even if they are gel braids. You want to be basic now when it comes down to the fleet and when i say the fleet i mean when you get to your first ship, your first command, whether you're on short duty or sea duty. You can be able to experiment more, so you don't have to walk around with jailbreak. You don't have to walk around with you. Don'T have to worry about, like, oh, my god is it going to fit into like this super duper neat bun. I might keep it real with you, you don't. The fleet is 100 more better right, see. I have the full lux in and this works for me. Um. I'Ve had hairstyles since i've been in um. The navy i had sew ends. Uh no leave. I do not do leaf up lead off because i don't like putting uh heat in my hair. I don't want to risk heat damage, so no leave out. So i do the closure so when's the frontal sew-ins. You can do wigs. Oh, my god. Wigs are a lifesaver, i've done all types of braids, obviously within regulation, so you can't have any uh zigzag braids. You can't have any track if you're going to go ahead and get box braids, the knotless ones or even regular ones. You can do like triangle parts. You can't do it has to be the basics part pretty much. All i'm saying is that when you get into the fleet it is so much easier to go ahead and do more because you'll have more time to get ready for the day. So then say you do have like longer braids or whatnot, and you really like that perfect bun. But you like the idea of having your braids. You have more time to wake up in the morning and spend an hour on your hair. Who does that not me? But you might be that person who will do that me? I like this is in regulations. As you can see, it's it doesn't come as the color. It doesn't even really touch my collar, so i never have to worry about anyone saying anything to me. I think the most it touches is these ones right here touch my uh front collar, but at the very very top. So my my recommendation for anyone is to get really get into. Bob'S balls will be a lifesaver. You don't have to spend time putting them up. You don't have to worry about anyone, stopping you saying anything, and it's just it's just better, so guys now that we're at the end of the video. I really hope that you enjoyed it.
